My Gosh —what a fighter !!!!!
It is so sad to hear that he was home-less in his latter part of life—he deserves much better for the entertainment he gave us—R.I.P CHAMPPosted May 28, 2014 6:37 pm
conte fights, especially IIPosted May 28, 2014 5:28 pm
Peltz Boxing.., “Matthew Saad Muhammad, perhaps the most entertaining light-heavyweight in boxing history.”
Matthew Saad was pretty entertaining. I loved the Conte fight
Some other light heavyweights who were fun to watch were Billy Conn… Jimmy Slattery… Georges Carpentier… Jack Delaney… and Kid McCoy…
I heard a lot about Jack Dillon from old fighters who were still around in the ’60’s. Never saw him and none of his fights are on Youtube. He was more a middeweight but he fought light heavies … and even heavyweights.Posted May 28, 2014 4:50 pm

Matthew Saad Muhammad Obit (49-16-3 KO’s 35) was truly a beloved fighter in the ring.
To bad both men kept going on with fighting far to long in the ring as they both ended up losing bad fights in the end to younger ones.
Rest In Peace champ!Posted May 28, 2014 12:55 pm

Great read…the first fight I remember seeing as a young kid from the UK,MSM V John Conteh 15 rd UD.
The boxing bug bit me from that day onward,I wrote my small piece on him BN24.
So many exciting fights and he left all he had in the ring win, lose or draw.Posted May 27, 2014 4:17 pm
