Sorry,

Groves squeaked past JDG
They’ve known each other since…

BOXING BARLOW

I am not a fan of James, as you know, but this is a ready-made rematch. GROVES squeaked last JDG in a PPV and before Groves even crossed paths with FROCH everyone knew and hated JDG because of his quote regarding Groves hair colour and bad breath.

Before FROCH the rivalry with JDG was the bitterest and had the most column inches in British boxing since Ricky Hatton and Junior Witter’s abortive bickerings.

I still remember the SKY Ringside face-off between the two like it was yesterday that sparked my hatred of JDG.

Now, I realise it was whiny Groves that got under his skin, just like he did Cobra that made JDG look like a proper CNUT.

If Groves wins on Saturday and JDG wins his final eliminator JDG should get the IBF to force the fight to happen within the 90 day-120 day period as Groves whined on to the IBF.

JDG vs Groves verbals will be much more vicious than FROCH and Groves. They’ve known each other snide they were kids and JDG knows all Groves’ little secrets he prays won’t get out into the public just like HAYE blabbed to Groves re his former England roommate FROCH.

JDG is trying to be Britain’s first Gold medal Olympian World Champion and wants to avenge close losses to Groves.

I thought De Gale was mandatory to fight Cameroon Hard case Saiko Bika for his world title

I was looking forward to that one

I think from a promotional point of view we need to see DeGale step up a level before making a fight with Groves or Froch. Dont get me wrong I’d love to see the fight but if the Froch Groves fight goes down as well as expected the promotional company will make some serious money. If they make the DeGale fight striaght away I dont think they will make the same kind of money that they would if they left it on the back burner for at least another fight. If I was Hearn I would want to see DeGale in with a big named fighter to really exibition his skills and buidl the fight up. If you could make it DeGale v Kessler would big a big fight, against a big named fighter, which at this stage of DeGales career a winnable fight, and even as a prelude to a fight with Froch or Groves it would still earn good money. If DeGale was to put on a seriously good showing against Kessler and Froch Groves lives up to the hype then I could see another stadium fight on the cards. As it stands I would have though it would be a step back down to the O2 or MEN.

I would like to see a degale vs groves rematch or put him up against kessler. He is a very good boxer. His lose to groves could have been a draw. It was a very close fight.

Only seen DeGale and Gonzales fight once. Gonzales put on a good boxing display. Hoping he wins this fight.

Degale is a completely different person since the Groves fight… I can see Degale making a lot of folks here on ESB eat words they are typing…

“Degale does not seem to have the power in this division.Froch and Groves would both beat him silly.”

Based on what?

Degale needs a good showing against Gonzalez, and I expect he will.

Personally I thought he edged the fight against Groves, and has the talent to do it again.

Hopefully he’s lost tbe b/s attitude and will concentrate on fighting the best out there.

Degale is not that smart.

Degale lost by one point on 2 scorecards and got a draw on the other to Groves. That’s not a whupping and many thought Degale could have got the nod. DEGALE is gunning for Groves and has had a couple of years to work out how he goes about it.

I like that DeGale has re grouped and changed his attitude since the Groves fight. I think he wins and wins well against Gonzales and would give anyone in the division a good fight bar Ward who is way above the rest.

Cant see Degale beating Groves, Froch or Ward. He will beat Gonzalez, who is fairly ordinary. If he wants a title though, he should target Bika or Steiglitz.

Degale is a better fighter than some posters here think he is… Lets see what happens over the next 12 months.

Degale does not seem to have the power in this division.Froch and Groves would both beat him silly.I think he will beat Gonzales on points, but then lose his title shot to the winner of Froch Groves 2

I would like to see DeGale get his chance against some of the big names in this division, but this fight does not interest me. Gonzales is a decent prospect, but, right now, he is miles away from the top men in this class.
