TARK

I have a suggestion for Murray… You already beat Martinez.

Go after GGG… he’s the real world champion

In Argentina they just expect you to get the decision if you’re Argentine. They cheer like crazy regardless. In Mexico they will sometimes boo an unjust decision given to their home boy

Freddie Roach Ate My Hamster

It’s a shame that Murray can’t get a US visa, as the TV networks appear to have more sway over who fights for titles than the governing bodies do. The fight in Argentina was a home decision in a hostile atmosphere (drummed up by a jingoistic President). It’s not uncommon though, the sport’s always been full of stay at home champs, who expect every refereeing decision and scorecard to go in their favour. There’s also an old saying that you need to KO the home fighter to get a draw in the states.

Stupid says.., “Golovkin CANNOT build his rep off saying “The World is ducking me” if its that bad then retire”

Why don’t you retire from your stupidity.

NO chance of GGG retiring. He sells out MSG and he’s had more successful title defenses than Martinez. Guys like Ronnie Shields, Freddie Roach, Gogue, Robert Garcia, Joel Diaz, and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad say he’s the best at 160.

GGG is raking in the dough and you’re not… You’re not involved with Boxing.

Murray nicked the fight, but as already pointed out.

You have to take the Title from the Champion, especially if he’s at home.
That’s the way it’s been

^Yup. Folks seem to have difficulty grasping this. Even here @ ESB.

SREDMOND – I agree. Saying Murray was “robbed” is totally inaccurate, he was slightly edged in a close fight, that’s how I saw it.

SREDMOND

I agree these MORONS expecting challengers to get CLOSE fights or drop the second half of the bout and win don’t know ANYTHING about boxing tradition…

you have to beat the. champion to get the tittle murray spend six or seven rounds doing nothing on the fight

Martinez did NOT duck Golovkin, he has faced two STRONG serious MW fighters in a row now the OLD Man is going to make some bank with Cotto…Golovkin CANNOT build his rep off saying “The World is ducking me” if its that bad then retire..

Martinez ducked Golovkin, just like most of all the other middleweights. They’re scared to death of him. Credit to Geale for having the guts to fight him, but he’s gonna get battered, just like all the other Golovkin victims. Martinez is a chicken ducker.

moonshineman, rubbish you brainless moron. Murray already beat Martinez and was clearly robbed. If they fight again Murray will beat Martinez down but this time he’ll stop him. Murray won’t let it go to points again.

SREDMOND

Peej, I don’t think Murray was robbed, it was a close fight my mind.. One that was gonna be hard to “edge” in another fighters home country, he did himself no favors slowing down a bit in the last couple rounds.

Martines won that fight by a point or two but still won and keep his tittle he will beat cotto badly

at least us americans have strict drug tests.

PEEJ – I don’t know about “clearly”, Murray damn near gave away the first half of the bout…it was close, for sure, and I don’t think any true boxing fan would’ve been surprised had Murray been given the decision, just like no one should be surprised Martinez won, it was close.

True, you don’t get a win in the UK even if you whup one of the home bums..Murray don’t want no part of Golovkin either.

Posted June 6, 2014 1:59 pm

you dont get a win out there.

Posted June 6, 2014 1:36 pm

PEEJ

Murray clearly beat Martinez. He shouldn’t have unfinished business. Funny how Martinez claimed he was robbed against Williams but says he won this fight. Terrible

SREDMOND

Murray is a strong and capable MW he is gonna be a hard night for most in that division..

Posted June 6, 2014 12:45 pm

moonshineman

If Martinez stays healthy, Murray doesn’t have a chance.

Posted June 6, 2014 12:39 pm

Good luck to Murray – he deserves a rematch.
