DaTruth Hurts

Most if not all of the Sore Loser Rants on these Boards are not from Argentinians.. they’re from Sore Losing Chihuahuas like te tumbo, who prayed to their Santa Muerte Saint for Sergio to Beat the Puerto Rican Super Star Cotto… Because it drives them insane when a Puerto Rican gets such Attention and Accolades.. LOL fkers never change..

Posted June 11, 2014 10:20 am

DaTruth

Funny thing is I like Sergio, nice guy great story but in the 24/7 he was moaning and groaning about Cotto making demands and acting like a Diva.. his Biggest Gripe was claiming that Cotto wanted Sergio to enter first even though Sergio was the Champ? but come fight night we saw Cotto come in first with no fan fair or music.. plain and simple entrance.. So what was Sergio Biatchin about over those two episodes? seems like in the End Sergio proved to be the High Maintenance Diva who got knockedafkout Cold.. Bad night for Sergio and his Trainer who was just as Cockeey… Sergio was lying about Cotto..

I agree TARK isn’t a racist but he is an inveterate lier. He doesn’t listen when corrected, and he invents things to support his case. His repeated claim that the British public were crying out for calzaghe froch is an example. Numerous British people have told him this wasn’t the case, the media footage of the time indicate the same, but he still thinks he knows better than people who were actually there

There is a rules in boxing you first learn is to keep them up both hand in front go your face boy.
There is a reason for that , as the oponate can’t see a opening and has create one. If its open you can hit there derectly up close, but farther away you can fake a right hand hook and as you get close hook that left and he have no time bringing that left up. unprotected right side opens up the other side. Pluss Sergio can’t fight inside he better outside as he a boxer he fought cotto fight.
Keep them up boys your not or Floyd or roy. Scratch another boxer off the list.

“TKO11 SERGIO MARTINEZ – (UPSET BAROMETER PEAKS AT 4 of 5) – IF COTTO BOXES INTELLIGENTLY, HE CAN COAST. I JUST DOUBT HE WILL” (lol). “Vito” strikes out again. so much for “expert” analysis. even I anticipated that Cotto could defeat a rusty and broken-down Martinez, which was the case, and that was withOut “expert boxing-journalist” access to trainers, fighters, fellow “experts”, combined with whatever personal combat-sports experience some of these “experts” cite to validate their opinions. ultimately, they are no more accurate than the average fight-fans’ and usually less accurate, e.g., see “official prediction” above.

ANTI RACISM LEAGUE

Great posters are leaving this site in droves because of the racist filth being both written by and thrown at other posters in droves, whether it be anti-white, anti-black, anti-Mexican, anti-Puerto Rican, the list goes on.
I can’t believe in the 21st century that people are so bitter, twisted and evil to bring racial hatred and bigotry into the sport of boxing and this site has a duty to strike these posters off.
This site is meant to be about boxing, but day in and day out we read the bitterness of individuals who really need to look at themselves and wonder why we have so many acts of violence against individuals and states when it is people like themselves who makes these acts of violence the norm. They fuel the racial hatred that so-called groups both hide behind and stir up to justify these acts. People are joining these groups in droves so they can hide behind all this claptrap so they can destroy black people, destroy white people, attack minorities, the list goes on. Why can’t these bigots post their filth on other sites? This is a forum for boxing and when newbies log on and read this filth from many long time so-called posters it both turns them off from and away from this great sport of boxing.
Some of you posters should be ashamed of yourselves , either stick to boxing or go and find the relevant sites away from here to rant and rave about your racial hatred and not on here, because the majority of posters here are not racist bigots and find your persistent racist rants to be both abhorrent and downright insulting.
Grow up you fools!

An example of racist filth is from this verminous idiot below:

But got your knock down right. 8 wins 2 loses, congrad cotto.
Too bad PAC would have been perfect to beat Martinez .

now you see Raymond and peej what iam talking about boxer have a weekness inside close, they can be huge but work rate inside kill them and it’s about pressure ,keep there mind on defense not offcence time and distance to setup.

See what I mean size don’t matter up close fighting, if cotto fought far away and wasn’t pressuring Martinez would not be thing of defense , and he could have won.
I was right as Martinez is. Boxer and inside high out put break a boxer as Martinez down. 2 proof. chino.

Well in anycase there were a few of us that thought Cotto would pull this out. And SM’s knees proved to be a big reason for the loss, just as we predicted. However, that was a great win for Cotto, now he better run back to 154 or 147 where he belongs.

Posted June 8, 2014 12:21 am

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

It’s over. Very very impressed with that performance by Cotto. This version of Cotto holds his own against any other Middleweight. If Pacman or Money think they could get a cheap belt here at Middleweight, they better think again. On tonights performance Cotto beats both at 160lbs.

Left hook by Cotto gets Martinez’s attention. Cotto’s eluding Martinez’s jab. Left hook from Cotto. Martinez lands a left that Cotto takes easily. Right by Cotto, who dances away. Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Mart 0-7 Cott- Cotto looking like a brilliant boxer puncher and absolutely schooling Martinez. Martinez has some flashes of scoring but not enough to put off Cotto or win any rounds yet.

Posted June 8, 2014 12:10 am

Mike Tyson

Sorry post it wrong thread

Round 4: More of the same to start the fourth. Cotto pursuing behind his right hand and Martinez trying to adjust. They trade jabs, Cotto’s still the stronger of the two. Hook by Cotto. They trade jabs. HARD LEFT HOOK HURTS MARTINEZ. Uppercut by Cotto. Hook by Cotto. Right and left by Cotto on the ropes and then a right by Cotto. Left by Cotto precedes a right hook by Martinez. Decent left by Martinez gets Cotto’s attention. Two more lefts by Martinez find their mark. Another left by Martinez. Hard right to the body by Cotto. Right and then a left both to the body by Martinez, who appears more steady at round’s end. Cotto, 10-9; Cotto, 40-33.

Round 5:

Cotto out-landed Martinez, 18-8, in power punches in Round 4. HAROLD LEDERMAN HAS IT FOR COTTO, 40-33. Solid left to the body by Cotto, who takes two decent jabs from Martinez. So far so good

You know I going to say cotto will drop Martinez early. Logic say Martinez think he a strongest fighter, but he do t know cotto will beat him him up on the inside, and he will trade with cotto till he fine out he better outside. So still if cotto can hold it till 12 he win . He run out of gas Sergio will return the favor and drop him from the outside, still Martinez beat cotto barely.

Posted June 8, 2014 12:02 am

Mike Tyson

Round 3: Martinez already rocky in the second round from a right hand. Left by Martinez, left by Cotto. Right hand by Cotto. Clinch. Martinez can’t keep Cotto off him, gets drilled to the head and body in a corner prior to a clash of heads that slows the action. Right, left, right by Martinez. Cotto hammers home a left to regain the momentum. Left to the head and two more shots to the body by Cotto. Left by Cotto is matched by a Martinez right. In the corner, Cotto lands three times to the body. Martinez takes another hard right and another from Cotto followed by a left to the body. Jab by Martinez as Cotto’s mouth drips blood. Cotto’s jab lands prior to a left and a right by Martinez. Cotto, 10-9; Cotto, 30-24.

Wtf.

Round 1: Fighters at ring center. Martinez already firing the jab. Hard right over the top from Cotto. Jab to the body by Cotto. Martinez circling. Another right by Cotto. Yet another right by Cotto. Hook by Cotto. HARD LEFT HOOK SHAKES MARTINEZ. Cotto’s on him in a corner. Three hard shots to the body by Cotto. MARTINEZ DOWN FACE FIRST FROM A LEFT TO THE HEAD. He’s up. A full 90 seconds left. Body shot by Cotto. Martinez is shaky. ANOTHER LEFT HOOK BY COTTO DROPS MARTINEZ. APPEARS THAT MARTINEZ’S RIGHT LEG HAS GONE OUT ON HIM. He’s up, but DOWN AGAIN APPARENTLY FROM A BODY SHOT!!!! Cotto, 10-6

Round 2: Martinez shaky. Bleeding from behind the ear. Cotto’s cutting off the ring and forcing Martinez toward the right knee. Cotto’s relaxed, takes two jabs by Martinez. Hook by Cotto. Martinez appears unable to escape it. Martinez down from an apparent right to the head, but referee Michael Griffin rules it a slip. Right to the head from Cotto. They trade lefts. Right by Cotto. Martinez is simply a feeble fighter. Right by Martinez. Left hook by Cotto. Cotto, 10-9; Cotto, 20-15

I pick Bradley or PAC to win convincely well. Both are too fast for Martinez to hit square . But both would work inside whose shoulder round rouse punching . And beat serigio up badly.

But watch Martinez will lose power and gain speed at the lower weight he have normal 154 lb power. So no ko, just logic folks.

I like both guys and originally I was going with a late stoppage. I’m now feeling an early stoppage for Martinez. Too big, too strong and Cotto is long overdue for retirement. Cotto last fight was set up to make him look good and anyone who truly follows and understands boxing knows that his opponent had zero shot. Next up..GG vs Martinez at MSG.

Mike Tyson

Chavez fight he redeem himself. Before he wasn’t busy enough.
Ko hungry. Now he learn points as back up is needed.

But he is beatable inside as he a boxer. Roach will usef cotto to fight inside. That cotto advantage . Close and slug . If he don’t run out of gas he might win
Canelo. Khan, Thurman .martinez are boxer, inside high work rate .
Is the way to beat they. Not outside
Can’t let them set there punches up out there. That there power spot.

I was very surprised how well Cotto was able to do against Mayweather considering how little he had left after the Margarito and Pacquiao maulings.

I know I’m in the minority but I’ve always thought a prime Cotto had Mayweather’s measure and that fight certainly did nothing to dispel that notion.

I actually had that closer than the official scores, which I felt were too wide in Mayweather’s favor.

If Martinez still has something left himself, and let’s not kid ourselves that’s a big if given his age, inactivity, and seemingly never ending battles with injuries, I fancy him to stop Cotto sometime between the 7th and 9th.

It suppose it could possibly last slightly longer if he opts to prolong Cotto’s misery and punish him for his diva-like antics and the disrespect he’s displayed towards him during the lead up to the fight.

Mind you I thought Martinez looked terrible last time out against Murray and we have no idea how much more he might have slipped since then.

Looks like YET another big fight I have to change MY name because just BELOW there are four VERSIONS of disciples trying to be like ME which are quite frankly pathetic little immature RATS! The REAL posters on this site know the REAL me from all you fake A$$ phonies!!! You can’t even get your CAPITALIZATION and exclamation POINTS right, but somehow you think you can PREdICT like me?? ENOUGH is ENOUGH. I worked HARD for many years since my first prediction of Douglas BEATING Mike Tyson and you think you can LIVE up to MY name?

My OFFICIAL prediction is Martinez by SCINTILLATING stoppage!!! I AM NOW always have always BEEN and always WILL be the GREATEST fight profit EVER born!!!

The Prince

Mike Tyson – I’m a fan of Cotto like most boxing fans. However, Cotto style is a bad match up with Martinez. I pick Sergio because he’s bigger, and if he shows up properly, more agile that Cotto. Cotto is good at cutting off the ring, but he’ll eat a lot of punches to do so if Sergio is game. Styles make fights.

Posted June 7, 2014 7:58 pm

Mike Tyson

Come on The Prince. Cotto skills gets no credit wining?

Posted June 7, 2014 7:50 pm

Mike Tyson

Shame on you. Panty on fire…. Lol

Posted June 7, 2014 7:47 pm

If Sergio shows up, he wins. If not, then Cotto might stop him. How this fight ends, will be determined by the condition of Sergio.

Cotto by SHOCKING 6th round stoppage!!! I am the GREATEST fight prophet ever born!!!

Other than Mosley, Cotto has never defeated an ELITE level Fighter in his LIFE. Martinez is one of the Top 10 most SKILLED Fighters on the planet and Cotto is not. EASY Fight to predict. Martinez will WIN by MERCIFUL referee stoppage.

Posted June 7, 2014 6:55 pm

So which one is it, Cotto or Martínez? I see what you trying to, picking both so you can say you were right and the wrong pick was by an imposter…. Lame!!!

Posted June 7, 2014 7:35 pm

Mike Tyson

0ooo.. Boxtra , brave call too tko in 6. Nope . Don’t fall for the larger man. Skills remember? Cotto block 80% of shots with both hands high.

Can’t say the same for Sergio maybe after cotto tired 8-12 maybe. But bet you not. I say it will be cotto fight on the score card till he run to empty.

All in fun my friend. Skills win not weight but who has more skills? Hard call Martinez by a close decision.

Cotto is far to small, and this will likely be his last big fight. He needs to wind it up and retire with some money and his health.

Posted June 7, 2014 6:52 pm

D

@anto. margarito had loaded gloves vs martinez. you can tell by watching the fight. grazing shots were killing martinez, a dead give away of loaded gloves. that’s the only ko loss of martinez’z career. funny thing

after nazim uncovered margarito’s treachery he never scored another stoppage. why? no more plaster. cotto had no problem with the toothless tiger 2nd time

Posted June 7, 2014 6:51 pm

Paddy O’Trenchant

Should be a good fight. I’ll go with Cotto with a unanimous decision.

Cotto beat up margarito a stronger fighter than Sergio by the way margarito beat up Sergio cotto moves was a classic in that fight. Margarito is taller like Sergio I do not see Sergio winning this fight Sergio will be KO for sure.

Sergio will be really difficult to beat ….And maybe to much for Cotto @ 160 ……Im just hoping Miguel can drag this fight into the later rounds ……….Not getting cut or damage will be one of the keys to victory …….

Posted June 7, 2014 6:22 pm

SREDMOND

If you are NOT declaring your choice then spare the Monday Morning Quarterbacking postfight… Gotta go with Sergio, despite a sentimental desire for Cotto to prevail.. He’s just not a MW when all is said and done..

I think Martinez will be to big. Rooting for Cotto to win.

I like both guys. They are true professionals and represent boxing as role models. Cotto can win if Martinez knee’s give up on him. Martinez is favorite but this is truly a 50/50 fight base on their past fights and boxing age and experience. I want Cotto to win and leave boxing in a high note, but I want Martinez to win because he is a role model to kids. Good luck to Both!!!

Hey, Vivek – keep your personal bias to yourself or respond when people question your B.S!!!!

Viv says.., “IF COTTO BOXES INTELLIGENTLY, HE CAN COAST”

Coasting would not be intelligent. That gives Cotto no chance. He has to work hard because he’s not the superior boxer.

Viv says.., “For Sergio Martinez, we are often reminded that his 38 year old body simply isn’t what it once was.”

Martinez turned 39 months ago… This simple fact takes a few seconds to check.

Viv says.., “The great Roberto Duran, had a 100% KO ratio as a lightweight.”

That’s abysmally stupid… Duran had 43 fights as a lightweight. The rest were at feather, super feather, super light, or heavier. 8 were decisions. 35 divided by 43 = 81%.

Martinez via barbaric long range beating.

Orlando

I didn’t like this match up from the beginning. Cotto and Martinez are great fighters, but the reality is that they are on the way out and not at their prime. The question is: “who is going to show up.” It is anyone’s fight! I believe Cotto will win because he is the fresher man.

Posted June 7, 2014 4:00 pm

Mike Tyson

Damm . Still fighting on my pick. Was Otto change to Martinez, watch a few of Sergio fight, he look goods, his left hand jabbing hand got better, but cotto has one of the best defense,
Really Sergio Now I don’t think he in the same class as a fast Lara or trout, that the only way we can gage him. Cotto might be above Sergio as a boxer goes, the problem is cotto lags at the later rounds.

I alway get the feeling he could be more busy, and he don’t try hard enough.
To be top dog, watch Bradley he steal the round if he belive it’s close , at the end he go for broke.
That really empress the judge and they can switch there pick on effort as came back and won the round e en if he didn’t . It a mind game thing, that matter in close fight.

PAC has a stupid corner, PAC survive on skills alone. Holding, use it, Floyd , Hopkins , wald,jr Jones,
Holyfield, all hold in a clinch to hold their score up.
Fight like this Martinez uses this, so guess Iam still picking Martinez. Sorry cotto. LOL

I GOTTA SAY I DONT SEE COTTO WINNING THIS FIGHT EVEN IF HE BOXES, NO MATTER THE GAMEPLAN IT WILL BE LIKE MAYWEATHER VS MARQUEZ, SIZE WILL PLAY A ROLE ALONG WITH THE RING WARS COTTO HAS BEEN IN.THE ONLY WAY I SEE HIM WIN IS IF SERGIOS KNEE GAVE OUT, WITH MONEY ON THE TABLE IT WOULDNT SURPRISE ME SEEING HOW A REMATCH COULD SELL VERY WELL, I HOPE THAT AINT THE CASE BUT I SEE SERGIO K.O BETWEEN 6-10 ROUNDS.

Prof Konje

Good “Vito” article as usual. Wallace brings up very good questions to make this bout interesting. Although I like both men and do not want to see either lose tonight, I believe that Martinez is too big and strong for Cotto. Also, Cotto has been in too many wars at this stage of his career. He’ll give it his best as usual but I doubt that he’ll beat Martinez.

Posted June 7, 2014 2:48 pm

Martinez should win this mismatch vs. the too small Cotoo easily.

BOXING ART

Great article. The ultimate key is Cotto’s skills in the defense department. That’s something which I agree with Vivek about Roach. Hopefully, Roach did focus on this as he “so-say” eliminated Cotto’s flaws which were obvious in the Pacquiao fight, etc. For Sergio, offense-minded fighters have never been much of a problem except Margarito but Sergio was relatively a new-comer in the sport.

Expected great fight but a very close outcome. Martinez never face a opponent with the technical ability and capable to make adjustments. Cotto split decision! History will be made.
