Oscar’s got the money and the promotion… grow some balls.Posted June 23, 2014 3:51 pm
@ Jim.., They chose Malik Scott, who had one (1) disputed loss to Dereck Chisora.
They chose Liakhovich… who went 9 rounds with Jennings.
It’s not that they are deliberately picking bad heavyweights… they are not offering the top heavyweights enough money.
They have to throw money at these guys to get a top heavyweight to fight Deontay — more money than than these guys have ever seen before… You can’t go cheapo with a big puncher.Posted June 23, 2014 3:49 pm
Tark— Breland and management were in a position to accept or decline many fights. They chose who to put Wilder in with, and who to keep him away from. This is no secret. Wilder did not have any “mandatory” fights coming up.Posted June 22, 2014 11:24 pm

Mustafa is crap trainer. So is breland.Posted June 22, 2014 1:19 am
Breland isn’t the matchmaker.. He’s a pretty good trainer.. Not on the level of a Steward, Diaz, Garcia, Mayweather, or Eddie Mustafa — or the other top trainers Wladimir and some others have been exposed to.
Breland isn’t assertive enough, or he doesn’t know the heavyweight division enough to push for the right matches for Wilder.
Cus D’Amato.., “70% of a fighter’s success is matchmaking. He needs the right fights.. at the right times.. in the right order.” … The really elite trainers get this right.Posted June 21, 2014 8:37 pm
To D– Why do you think they have brought Wilder along at a snails pace? If Breland was honestly confident in Wilder, he would have stepped him up 10 fights ago. He knows what Wilder can and cannot do. The goal was to keep Wilder with a unblemished record until he secured the payday (title shot) with no real dangerous opponents. Of course Breland will talk up his guy!Posted June 21, 2014 6:53 pm

Ifthey had any confidence in wilder they wouldn’t have waited until the precise moment vitali retired to decide they could step up.
He is future of nothing just another American hype job who can’t make it now the hw division is truly global.Posted June 21, 2014 6:09 pm
he wouldn’t bet. mark breland never bets. plus he thinks deontay is going to ice wlad so he would bet on deontay
i guess you haven’t talked to mark. he’s pretty convinced wilder is the future. he may be mistaken, but that’s what he believesPosted June 21, 2014 5:27 pm
To MYLES— if Deontay fought Wladimir—Deontay’s trainer would bet Klitschko!! Of course he can’t say that–but he would do it.Posted June 21, 2014 4:36 pm
To MYLES— You have a whole lot of confidence in Deontay Wilder, a guy who has yet to face a top 20 guy yet. DO NOT put too much on Wilder when he faces Stiverne–unless you got money to toss away.Posted June 21, 2014 4:33 pm

right now it’s reversed. eastern europe wins lots of medals and the usa none.Posted June 20, 2014 10:08 pm
smoking joe’s medal opponent was from germany, losing on a 3-2 decision but it doesn’t matter. eastern europe didn’t have great amateur programs until their pro programs started ramping up with the demise of communism. cuban fighters have monetary incentives—and they can always ditch cuba, which dozens of the best have done.
amateurs do better with a monetary incentive, and the amateur programs feed off the pro programs. lots of sparring between amateurs and pros, and trainers who train both. so the money the pros bring in helps the amateurs flourishPosted June 20, 2014 10:05 pm
@ belly: …. and the fighters that Clay (1960), Frazier (1964), and Foreman (1968) beat for Olympic Gold Medals were from where exactly?Posted June 20, 2014 9:08 pm
Who’s going to derail Wilder? Not Stiverne. Bermane will be lucky if he can take Wilder into the 5th round. Nothing BS throws will work. He’ll get hit all the time because Deontay is way too fast, rangy, and tall for him. There will be no obstacles to presenting the Klitschko vs Wilder blockbuster by the second quarter 2015.
Klitschko’s first fight in the USA in several years – if GB puts a monster bid in.
Oscar loves Deontay. He’s going to rock this fight big time.Posted June 20, 2014 6:23 pm
klitschko-pulev, this is much greater than 40 years ago, now all of the great fighters from eastern Europe can fight in the pros.Posted June 20, 2014 6:10 pm

Allah Allah Shuballah say Pulev by decision. Wladimir gas tank run on fumes. He 38 years old and body break down. Allah Allah Shuballah forecast this yes.Posted June 20, 2014 3:26 pm
will the undercard be as great as the big one.Posted June 20, 2014 3:20 pm
@Pratt. Now that would be a fight that would interest me. Wilder, untested, overhyped vs PERHAPS the second best hw on the planet. Interesting. But wilder wouldn’t go near it unless LOTS of money and a title are involved. Wilder is one loss away from total derailmentPosted June 20, 2014 3:08 pm

Alonzo below , saw the upcoming dilemma for Pulev ,
Pulev is a tough cookie. He can beat Wilder because of his size style, experience, granite head, and stiff jab that would knock Wilder off balance on those birdlegs of his. This is a good test for Wlad because Wlad is going to be hit in this fight, but Wlad has the more devastaing power and boxing ability than Pulev, but Pulev deserves the shot, and if he looses I would like to see Pulev/Wilder. Wilder has never fought a guy like Pulev the Bulgarian. But in this current fight The Ukrainian rules The Bulgarian !!Posted June 20, 2014 10:58 am
do the germans really pay to watch these body builders.Posted June 20, 2014 9:19 am
at least he’s fighting a half decent opponent, for a change.Posted June 20, 2014 6:11 am
Let’s be honest Pulev is garbage. He was decked by Abell. Pulev is just another bum.Posted June 20, 2014 5:24 am
There already is life in the HW scene. Wladdy by KO late rounds.
Pulev win would be nice. It would set up a second fight. Bring some life to the HW scene.Posted June 20, 2014 1:14 am
Funny how so many of the cheerleaders for Pulev are already promoting a second fight. Already conceded the first? Pulev won’t want a second helping after the upcoming vicious KO he’s going to get. Idiots.Posted June 20, 2014 12:42 am
Klit jabbing Chaggy in the picture is an eerie summation of this upcoming fight.Posted June 19, 2014 10:55 pm
I wonder how hard wilder really hits a Looney 150lb kid off the internet took wilders punches.Posted June 19, 2014 6:41 pm
Stiverne-Wilder 2014 – Stiverne will knock that engine into the caboose.Posted June 19, 2014 4:31 pm
Wilder was bothered by a jab from Nicolai Firtha and knocked down by Harold Sconiers so Deontay has to strike first against Wlad. Wlad’s jab is gonna feel like a solid sledgehammer in the face to Deontay. Probably Wilder’s only chance potentially is if WK is careless or walks on to something early on. Possible. Not very likely. Stiverne can close the Wilder show before then…Posted June 19, 2014 2:53 pm
wlad-kubrat I ……………. Go Cobra!Posted June 19, 2014 2:46 pm
WilderPosted June 19, 2014 2:26 pm
And after the fight many will be criticizing Pulev as just another bum and Wlad for taking him on. Already bored with the commentary and it’s more than two months away. And who will the next great hope be?Posted June 19, 2014 1:44 pm
Now all that needs to happen is for Stiverne to step up and fight Wilder? Will he?
If that happens we could be looking at Klitschko-Wilder in next spring. Or possibly Pulev-Stiverne??? … GTFOOH
If Wilder-Stiverne doesn’t happen it’s Boxing as usual. Promoters digging up cans for their guys. Don King still has that creepy smile on his octogenarian face.Posted June 19, 2014 12:18 pm
Stiverne at least has the solace of winning instead of losing. So there’s that.Posted June 19, 2014 12:15 pm
Stiverne must be bummed out, he could have got a couple million dollar payout fighting wladmir in a unification bout but instead he gets 200 bucks and a Wal-Mart gift card to fight wilder.
It’s the right thing to do thou, looking forward to a unification finally in this division.Posted June 19, 2014 11:53 am
He will come back soon in Bulgariq for a high alttitude training camp in Belmeken.Posted June 19, 2014 11:49 am

Pulev has promise but 20 pro fights are not enough for the veteran savy Wlad .Posted June 19, 2014 9:07 am
Told you so it’ll happen. The haters said Wlad ducked Pulev all this time, Pulev who’s the best challanger in HW division. Stiverne fight couldn’t be made (the legendary Don King Kong issue) so Wlad chose the next best fight in Pulev. I imagine once he beats him Pulev will be stamped as another bum with no credit given.
Klitschko haters imminent… 3…2…1Posted June 19, 2014 8:54 am
