Sredmond says.., “If Lomachenko cannot deal with the occasional tough customer in the pro ranks he might as well pack it in”

Pack it in??? … WTF are you talking about? Did Salido pack it in??? Lomachenko just won a World Championship in his 3rd pro fight… What did Salido do???

Salido LOST his World Championship against Lomachenko and hasn’t had a fight since… Who’s packing it in?

Lomachenko is exactly where he would be if he was awarded the Salido decision by 2 judges instead of 1 judge.

He’s World Champion and looking over the challengers.

Tark, is Lomanchenko boxer number 5000 that you consider “robbed” this year? if guy cannot deal with the occasional tough customer in the pro ranks he might as well pack it in… Reality is EVERYONE knows Salido is a hard fighter that’s his calling card and the truth is that ya gotta fight fire with fire… Lomanchenko LOST to Salido, I saw that fight it’s a learning experience you cannot award him an undefeated record based on your wishes and desires again..

@Boxtradumas You’ve crapped out on this site, chum, or should I say CHUMP! Give it up, move on, let it go. You need yourself (re:Correctamundo & Accubox) to feel better about your lonely lousy self. Lomachenko was robbed blind against Salido… He outpunched him by at least 50 clean punches… He almost knocked Salido out in the last round, plus…

The referee kept stepping in when Salido was hurt… The referee said nothing as 50 low blows hammered Lomachenko in the legs cup and hips… The referee ignored holding and hitting by Salido all night long.

The refereeing and judging for that fight was crap… except for the judge who had Lomachenko winning.

Loma gave Russell a sound beating but that is no reason to suddenly call him a great fighter in 3 fights for beating up a good prospect and loosing to Solido who was outclassed by Mikey Garcia. fanboys are getting ahead of themselves as usual.

Boxtradamus

Russell has some SKILLS to work with but the first thing he needs to work on is conditioning. You have 12 rounds at the Championship level SO you have to train to Fight a FULL 12 rounds. Not half a round. And IF you just don’t have the engine to go 12 rounds then learn how to END the round WELL instead of starting it OFF well. Judges usually remember the last thing they see.

Ignorance truly must be bliss, Te Tumbo.

Lomachenko is a special talent…the promoters, the scribes, the WBO, and pretty much every fight fan in existence, after last night’s showing, seems to understand this now…

Why are you so quick to dismiss this elite level fighter?

Posted June 22, 2014 8:23 pm

te tumbo

“Russel was exposed against a great fighter. These hype jobs . . .” Lomachenko hasn’t proven a Damn-Thing nor was he tested v. Russell. Btw, who the F’k is Lomachenko blowing to confirm back-to-back title-bouts and not even v. the guy who kicked his ass in his first title-shot in only his second fight? as if the preferential treatment this guy was getting wasn’t enough, you’ve got an emerging legion of fanboys already clinging to his nuts(?!). get a hold of yourself ladies. it’s very possible if not likely that Lomachenko will have a record of 2-2 before the year is done and shouldn’t be regarded higher than any other fighter with a 2-2 record.

Russel was exposed against a great fighter. These hype jobs, Russel, Broner, Lacy and other US prospects who talk themselves up and the entire boxing community jumps on.

This fight was a no-brainer. The difference in boxing ability is huge and was apparent if you looked at either fighter’s resume. Still, home turf and one judge in GBP’s pockets almost made a farce out of the night.

Lomachenko won a near shot-out on my score card. He should tear through the FW division. Looking forward to his next fight!

It’s just a case where his weak punching power is OK against weak comp but doesn’t hold up against world class comp. That’s why he chose to fight only drunken bums for the last 5 years.

SQUARED CIRCLE

Lomachenko can only now go out and break records since his O has gone. Roy Jones spoke about losing his O on SKY TV show

GLOVES ARE OFF SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHTS and I transcribed some of what was said below:

Present are Johnny Nelson (the Chair)

Roy Jones Jr, sitting round a table with Joe Calzaghe, Chris Eubank, Nigel Benn, Richie Woodhall and Steve Collins…

Johnny Nelson asks,”What was it that made you so special?”
Roy Jones: “Because, I was so hungry. I got robbed of the gold in the Olympics, which basically BLEEPED me off. So, I had something to prove. When you have something to prove it makes you a different fighter.”

JN: “So, you were chasing records?”
RJJ: “I had to do what Bob Fitzsimmons did back in 1896. That’s what I had to do. I had to recapture the Light Heavyweight title… If I didn’t do that, I didn’t do what Bob Fitzsimmons did! After that my goals were done. And, I should have probably stopped!”

Roy Jones Jnr on defeat and Calzaghe being undefeated:

RJJ: “I was like him. I wanted to be undefeated too, but when I got to Montell Griffin, they disqualified me. That ruined my undefeated record. So, even if I wanted to be undefeated like him, that ruined my chances of that. Therefore, I had to shift gears. I said okay, the undefeatedness is out the door. And now I got to do something else. And now, this what I do. I’m going to win the Light Heavyweight title. Then I’m going to win the Heavyweight title… Nobodies done that in 106 years. And then I’ll come back and regain the Light Heavyweight title and that will be my accomplishment, cause they KILLED my desire to remain undefeated, when they DQd me. So, I’m glad that they did it, cause that was something I didn’t want to do. But, I didn’t lose before they DQd me and GAVE me a loss. I didn’t lose a fight until after that. If they had never TAKEN that fight, I probably would still not lost a fight, because, just like him (Joe), my goal would have been to stay undefeated, but once they took the fight, that goal went out the window. I can’t do that no more.”

I reckon Lomachenko is thinking his O is gone, so now he is dead set on going out and beating the biggest and toughest challenges out there.

Posted June 19, 2014 4:16 pm

It will be interesting to see which direction he goes now he is a champion after only 3 fights!

Lomachenko was nothing short of spectacular. He looked like the seasoned professional. Speed, crisp clean shots. Beautiful ring generalship. He dominated like I thought he would. I had picked him to win this fight because he is a special talent. You could see it in the Salido fight. Russell Jr. looked more like the amateur even though he showed his skills in the fight. Lomachenko was simply better in all areas. His jab and right hook to both the head and body were excellent. His jab landed right on the button. His head movement was beautiful as he he gave different angles. He would slip to the left and counter than slip to the right and counter. Those body shots were great. He clinched effortlessly when he felt the need. When he stepped inside and got his punches off, he was always aware of Russell’s right hook counter. Lomachenko was a pleasure to see. Having come in with only to professional fights on his record and performing like he did shows you why elite amateur experience helps a lot. This kid will be one of the great ones. Look for this kid to do some big, big things.

FA, good post on Lisa Giampa, i was writing my comment while you were thinking that.

Posted June 22, 2014 2:31 am

Big Ham

I was afraid Lomachenko was gonna get robbed. I had a feeling he was. I sure do hate it when lousy judges get their daughters into judging boxing. It’s as bad as corrupt politicians getting their sons into politics. The Giampa girl had a terrible card. Not borne of corruption but rather of pure incompetence. We definitely saw a difference in level of opposition. Russel looked like a phenom against over matched opponents early in his career. I was suprised how much his hard fast punches turned into pitter patter flurries against Lomachenko. Lomachenko looked good for about 75% of the fight but still retained a little of the inconsistency and hesitancy that he had against Salido. I rate him as a good featherweight. But unless he improves (which he still can) i do not see him as a p4p top 15 guy. His handspeed is average and his work rate and stamina is also average for an elite featherweight. Featherweights at the absolute top of the rankings should be cardio machines that can fight 3 minutes of every round.

Posted June 22, 2014 2:31 am

Fight Aficionado

Lisa Giampa is the judge who scored Lomachenko-Russell a draw. Normally I would LOL but all GBP needed was one more judge in their pocket and Lomachenko would’ve been robbed of his dominating victory and fallen to 1-2 as a pro. Disgusting. Ban that whore from judging again before she screws up someone’s career.

Big Ham

Good fights, Guerrero however entertaining that fight was has shown some limitations. His size and strength was an equalizer at lower weight divisions and that is no longer the case at 147. I would favor Thurman over him. If i could play matchmaker i would put Robert in with Amir Khan, i think Khan is gonna try and get the Mayweather fight based on just surviving Luis Collazo which is clearly not enough to deserve such. If Khan beats, Guerrero he can fight Floyd. If Guerrero wins he can fight Maidaina. Devon Alexander contrary to the broadcasters analysis did not look exciting and i do not see a meaningful fight in the future for him. Maybe Thurman will fight him as more attractive fight prospects may avoid Thurman. That’s my assessment of 147 right now.

Posted June 22, 2014 2:24 am

Joe

Salido came in 20 pounds heavier than Lomachenko and and lost his title on the scales. Then he hit him low like 40 times. Tonight Lomachenka was clearly the bigger stronger guy. He was also very fast and accurate, with very, very good punch blocking. Russell was fast and made sounds when he punched, but nothing was landing.

No way is Guerrero deserving of a rematch with Mayweather! He looked like a typical give & take brawler with nothing new learned! And it seems, Reubins compassion for his son went out the window, his son couldve incurred some serious permanant damage to that eye, dad did seem more concerned with “warrior” status than anything else………Guerrero definitely won this fight, but wins like this makes for a very very short career. I wonder how he spins his religious views to justify this “give & take” drubbing…..I guess by not talking about it…..Thurman is really gonna put it on this dude…..it wont be worth it….

Kamegai was simply a tough customer. the same kind that gave Alexander all he could handle for 10 rounds. he was durable, strong, and unrelenting. Guerrero tried to box him and looked superb in spots but Kamegai’s unapologetic crowding demanded that Guerrero Make him respect his space. at which point, Robert did plant his flag and defend that hill. the one and only element missing from his performance was defense but Guerrero seems very confident in his ability to take a solid shot. he’s taken several from different opponents and has yet to even buckle(?!). his offense was excellent. his punches were sharp and varied and accurate just not explosive but i don’t know what Guerrero can do about that other than continue to prepare for gritty and grueling 12-round bouts.

The iron curtain lasted less than 50 years. There was lots of boxing before and after that. So I don’t imagine anything special.

Robert Guerrero’s father should be banned as a trainer. He’s sending his son to take brutal life lasting brain and eye damage. Roberto could have easily boxed this guy to shreds.

Octavious, everybody knows that these phoney organizations make up belts to give Floyd and Pac, they don’t fight mandatories to avoid being stripped. Guerrero was chosen for slaughter by Floyd, only Floyd hasn’t really been KOing guys lately.

Boxtradamus: This is the second time you’re gone against me. Last time was Khan Vs. Peterson. I’ll stick with Mikey winning that bout. Mikey can counter and lead.. he’s accurate and he’s long and strong… smart and steady, and best of all he can move his feet, he beats Lomachenko. Even Donaire is longer than Gary Russell. We have to see how Gary does in other fights at that level as well. Lomachenko can fight Donaire next.

Well I’ve been KO’d by the suggestion Ukraine is part of Russia! As I rise from that devastating “factoid”, I wonder about the fate of the largest country in Europe (yes, the Ukraine), and the 2/3rds of the Ukraine population who speak a language called “Ukrainian” (who’d have thunk it?), and the independent Governement and parliament of the Ukraine. I am sure they too would be shocked and stunned that they are not Ukrainians living in a country called the Ukraine. I wonder per chance are there any homelss stateless country-less Ukrainians venturing onto ESB? Please let us know what you think of the assertion that your country doesn’t exist?

I really don’t understand all the praise for Guerrero. He sucks, and with his level of competition — the Mayweather fight aside — it’s no wonder no one has been able to pick him off yet. And he is NOT a 6-time world champ. Interim titles don’t count!

TOO bad for Guererro but when you’re in a Fight of the Year with a no namer you do not get a Floyd Fight. And when your eye gets busted by a no namer you don’t get a Floyd Fight either.

Q

sean p h: Actually it’s 3 out of the top 5. Vasyl is 26 he has a ton of amateur experience. You spend your life as an amateur you are basically set. Just like Rigo. He’s not going to be doing any “developing.” I don’t think it goes anywhere higher from here, and I don’t think he has what it takes to beat a Mikey Garcia. He should try to rematch Salido or something. His bouts of inactivity are too much. It was okay against a shorter smaller stationary guy… but it didn’t work against Salido and it wouldn’t work against a few other guys. Props to Russell though. We will have to see if he can keep fighting at that level

Mikey is a natural counter puncher and Loma is difficult to counter. Mikey is slower than Russell Jr. He LOSES to Loma on points. Salido used the SHOCK factor on Loma the first time. Loma will not be shocked in a rematch. He’ll be ready for anything Salido brings.

Boxtradamus: Gary is notoriously stationary. I saw that in his previous bouts. Add that to Lomachenko being longer and taller.. and stronger…. it wasn’t the best matchup for him. He’d still have trouble with Salido I think, he’s way too inactive in spots. Mikey has the power advantage, and the skill and intelligence advantage imo. You have to go right at the guy. He stops punching when pressed.

Mikey is Top notch but he’s just a little easier to hit. He LOSES to Loma on points. Russell is the fastest puncher in the Sport and couldn’t catch Loma CLEAN. SO Mikey won’t either.

Tomato Can: Salido is a good fighter, but there are better fighters, including Mikey Garcia. Lomachenko was much bigger and stronger than Russell, and Gary is flat footed. Loma will definitely need to increase his activity otherwise, he’s going to lose to guys like Salido, and definitely lose to a guy like Mikey who is a division above now if I’m not mistaken. Mikey keeps fighting, and he has power and accuracy. Lomachenko lets you get in and he stops throwing. He wasn’t NOT getting hit at all, nor was he deflecting everything from full impact. So he will take clean shots, and have some issues with certain guys. In the division he’s at, I’m not sure as I don’t know much about the division. Now, let’s score this bout with Guerrero.

What some people forget about Lomanchenko loss to Salido is that Salido came in overweight and was about 20lbs heavier on fight night. Salido used every dirty trick in the book also. A good learning experience for Lomo early in his pro career. If Lomo could become more active during the middle rounds instead of sitting on early leads he would dominate everyone (exception Rigo) at this time.

My prediction gentlemen. That 114/114 judge needs to bew banned for life.

Russell Jr. is an excellent boxer and he did beat beat 24 human bodies that offered absolutely no challenge whatsoever. Sure he looks good hitting the pads, which anyone can do if you know how to handle the mitts and have a little bit of boxing in you. Sure Russell Jr. looks good against D level caliber fighters. Yes he impresses those that don’t have real knowledge of boxing and watch him throw those fast punches. Russell Jr. looks like a million dollars. Now, look at his opponents. What good does it do a fighter if you have no challenges or don’t face any adversity in the ring. If I am better than my opponent by a thousand miles, I can go a thousand rounds. Someone please tell me what Russell Jr. has done to stand out. He was an excellent amateur, which Lomachenko dwarfs by miles. Gary Russell will have his ego deflated when he realizes that he’s fighting a southpaw that has seen it all and will hurt him. Lomachenko has faced adversity and fought a very durable and well accomplished Salido. He learned and gained more in this one fight than Russell Jr. has in 24 fights. This should be a good fight until Russel Jr. gets tagged hard and loses his composure. He will turn gun shy and lose a UD or get stopped late. Lomachenko can fight. Don’t look at his 2 proffesional fights and think he has a loss and he’s done because he’s not. He set goals, and has trained like a beast. Saturday night, Lomachenko becomes a champion UNLESS, UNLESS Haymon and the judges come together as one. That’s the only way Lomachenko can lose.

Posted June 22, 2014 12:05 am

The Bible of Boxing

Way too easy. I saw no hand speed from Russell. No foot work either and no power. I saw these from Lomo. He had his way with the taxi driver from rd 1. Way too easy.
Russell needs to drop to another division. He is way too small and not strong enough.
What a huge disappointment and what a rotten score. I personally wanted Russell to win but he got owned. He was beaten like a drum.

Loma has appeared to have won the fight. But will he get the decision.

Posted June 22, 2014 12:01 am

Russ 5-7 Lomo – I have Lomo winning 115-113. Lomo power, efficiency and accuracy wins it in the end.

117-111 Loma_ here. Great fight by Loma IMO, but I give much credit to Russell on not folding even though he was clearly out gunned from the start of this fight. Let’s see what the judges say.

Loma 7-5 GRJ (This is a score based on giving GRL credit for being so much more busy. Lomachenko definitely won. I can see the score from 7-5 ….to 9-3 lol)

Lomenchenko won this 9 rounds to 3

Posted June 21, 2014 11:59 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 5-6 Lomo – Lomo looks more accurate and lands harder. Deceptively Russ lands a lot on the arm defence by Lomo. Lomo picking up the combos now. Some solid shots by Lomo. Russ has a good chin. Solid round by Lomo. I like Russel tenacity.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:58 pm

Love-the-Sport

Honestly, it is best to turn off the sound when you watch these fights.

These guys have no clue.

Judges have been scoring volume in the last 2-3 years not connected punches.

You cannot win if you don’t throw punches. This was the pattern with Algeiri vs. Provodnikov, Maidana vs. Broner, Bradley vs. Pacquiao I …

I think Lomenchenko wins this fight because he won the 5th and 10th fight big and if they split every other round — Lomenchenko deserves a close victory.

But it is not 11 rounds to 1 … they way the idiot announcers are calling this fight.

Lomenchenko has won the 5th round and the 10th round big.

But every other round has been very close.

And Lomenchenko hardly throws any punches.

Doesn’t matter how many punches you throw when they don’t land and when the do land they have no power. Lomenchenko is clearly wining. Russell needs a KO which won’t happen

Posted June 21, 2014 11:48 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 5-4 Lomo – Russ keeping up the work rate. Lomo isn’t doing enough. Lomo seems to be waiting and sitting on the one KO punch. Lomo nice body shot. Lomo slipped I think technically it was a knockdown. Russ landed some clean shots at the end. I think he is nicking these last few due to work rate and Lomo has stopped.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:48 pm

Loma 4-5 GRJ (Gary clearly won that round. They’re talking about gary not landing as flush, but he’s been throwing 30 more punches. Loma throws about 4 punches a round)

Russell has no footwork. Where is his hand speed? If I did not know better I would say this is his 1st or 2nd fight. He looks like a pure novice. He needs a KO. But he seems way too small and can’t land anything!

Posted June 21, 2014 11:45 pm

Gary Russell can’t handle Lomos timing. Speed doesn’t mean anything without timing or effective aggression

Russ 4-4 Lomo – A lot of punches being thrown by Russ but nothing is landing. Lomo needs to do more to win these rounds definitely though. Hard one and got to give it to the worker.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:41 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 3-4 Lomo – Russell throwing a lot but not landing much. Some good body work keeping Lomo on the back foot. Lomo now turn the tables. When Lomo lands it knocks Russ backwards and Russ loses his momentum. Russ now getting off first. Lomo attacks and hurts Russ to the body. Good heart by russ to fight back. Tough one. Give it to Russ for 2:30 work rate to Lomo 30 sec of power shots.

6-1 Loma, Vasly is a machine.

3-3 (Gary definitely won that 6th round)

Posted June 21, 2014 11:35 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 2-4 Lomo – Russell starts aggressively but not landing. Then he lands to the body. Lomo using an erratic range to confuse Russel. Russell landing some nice shots as he chases Lomo. Sharp jab by Lomo. Very active round by Russell, didn’t let Lomo get into it at all. Although Lomo did some nice evasive defence he didn’t do enough to win it. Good round by Russ. Can he be that active for the next 6?

Loma 3-2 Gary (Gary’s stationary footwork is a problem for him as I stated, he lost that last round big)

Posted June 21, 2014 11:32 pm

Tomato Can

Russell wont last it past the eighth at this pace.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:31 pm

PEEJ

No sure if Russell can go 12 with this dude. That’s what happens when your record is full of bombs

Posted June 21, 2014 11:31 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 1-4 Lomo – Lomo started more even this time. Good left by lomo. Good right hook from Lomo. Lomo bullying a little. His landed punches hurt more than when Russ lands. Lomo established dominance in that one. Lomo landing hard to head and body. Russ seems to be waiting on a counter and then lomo isn’t there. Big round for Lomo.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:30 pm

Lomachenko

Takes on 2 top fighters for first 2 fights and lost the first one, has that happened before, does not make sense, usually from amateur to professional.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:29 pm

Q

Loma 1-1-2 GRJ (Gary let his hands go more and did well. He landed some flush shots, he got hit with a good jab.. could be 2-2)

Posted June 21, 2014 11:28 pm

PEEJ

Russell has no power

Posted June 21, 2014 11:27 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 1-3 Lomo – Again Russ starts off fast. Needs to keep it going. Don’t let Lomo in. Russ loses the ascendency through out the round but kept up a better attack in this one. His best round so far. He likes to use his little check hook counter and it lands often. Will want to find more.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:27 pm

Tomato Can

Lomachenko has exactly what I feared. Too much fundamentals for Russell, or any boxer in his weight range.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:25 pm

Tomato Can

Thus far if this was an amateur fight, Vasly would have won.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:24 pm

Q

Loma 1-1-1 GRJ (I think Gary controlled the beginning of that round with his jab and it was pretty even througout)

Posted June 21, 2014 11:23 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 0-3 Lomo – Russ starting on the front foot. Lomo landed a big uppercut after being tagged body and head. Lomo pacing his rounds much better. Left to the body by Lomo. Quick combo by Russ doesn’t do a lot. Lomo winning the short exchanges. Seems a lot stronger. Not a big difference in quality but Lomo is more efficient.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:23 pm

Kid Flash

The commentary are not cutting Gary any slack .

Posted June 21, 2014 11:21 pm

Q

Loma 1-1-0 GRJ (I felt that Gary did better work… Loma had to good body shots at the end)

Posted June 21, 2014 11:20 pm

Mongoose

Russel looks like he’s crumbling a little bit already.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:19 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 0-2 Lomo – Russ fast hands. Lomo fast feet. Russ started faster. Lomo looks huge. Thudding punches are by Lomo. lomo seems to be grinding Russ down already. Lomo overtook Russ fast start over the entire 3 min.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:19 pm

Kid Flash

Yeah Gary just standing in front of Lomochenko , and not using his feet will cost him .

Posted June 21, 2014 11:18 pm

Kid Flash

That right hook to the head and body is looking very dangerous

Posted June 21, 2014 11:16 pm

Tomato Can

Russell has the speed but Loma appears to have the fundamentals as well as size and strength advantages. Russell has a very tough task in front of him.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:16 pm

Q

1-0 Loma (Russell’s rather stationary footing is bothering him)

Posted June 21, 2014 11:15 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Russ 0-1 Lomo – Lomo landed a couple more. Good skills by both. Ring generalship is Lomo’s. Good body shots by Lomo.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:15 pm

Tomato Can

Loma looks real good.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:13 pm

@Q – I think the jab of Lomachenko will make the difference. Plus his footwork and mental toughness.

I want russell to win, but Lomachenko is no push over despite his lack of pro experience. That’s my opinion anyway. On top of that Loma has the size advantage.

Posted June 21, 2014 11:11 pm

Last time I watched Gary, he honestly didn’t move his feet enough even though his hands were extremely fast. This guy is taller and longer than him, so that could pose problems. Let’s see how it plays out. I’m rooting for GRJ

Alexander needs to retire. His power isn’t entertaining and he is becoming punch DRUNK. He needs to hang them UP.

Officially – UD win for Alexander. 97-93 – 99-91 x2.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:55 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

My score a points win to ALexander 98-92. Slow start for Soto has cost him. Stupid inside tactics could of cost Alexander during the middle rounds.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:54 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 8-2 Soto – Soto leaving nothing in the ring. A 30sec exchange mainly to each others body. Alex boring forward but Soto is landing. Soto just non-stop swinging. Quite impressive endurance really. Soto finishing better. Great combo by Alex. Solid jab by Soto pushed Alex back. Brawled to the bell and I’d give that one to Soto.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:53 pm

Mongoose

Best fight I’ve seen Alexander in.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:52 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 8-1 Soto – Soto starting southpaw. Alex fires out the jab. Soto back to orthodox. Soto cutting off the ring but not throwing. Alex finishes off his combos with a jab almost always. A couple of nice punches landed by Soto. Soto looked a bit tired and getting hit easily by Alexander. Soto keeps trying though.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:49 pm

Kid Flash

Stay loose while throwing combination punching to the head and body will make his life a lot easier

Posted June 21, 2014 10:47 pm

Mongoose

Fast Hands don’t mean anything without fast feet and a good head. You’ll see.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:46 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 7-1 Soto – Soto straight onto Alex with pressure. Good body work by Soto followed by a good uppercut by Alex. Alex has a home for his straight left everytime. Alexander moving around the ring now. Might have a 2nd wind. Soto continues the body work. Alex looks a lot better at distance and should stay there.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:45 pm

Kid Flash

As Devon has tired he really loads up on his punching , which I feel is a big mistake and he has stopped throwing to the body as much , which also is another mistake IMO .

PEEJ

Just don’t see Alexander beating Maidana if they were to rematch

Posted June 21, 2014 10:44 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 6-1 Soto – Alexander moving again. Soto keeps coming forward. Alexander landing nice 1-2’s. Soto continuing the wild swinging, some land some don’t. Alex definitely slowing down. Can’t see Soto having the power to stop Alex. Close round but the effective work was by Alex for me.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:42 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 5-1 Soto – More bodywork by Soto. Good exchanges. Alexander looks crisper where Soto looks more wild. Soto didn’t let up and while Alexander looked sharper and landed some clean shots I’ll give it just to Soto for a relentless work rate, generalship and he landed plenty of his own.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:38 pm

Mongoose

If Alexander keeps using his feet he’s winning easily.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:37 pm

Kid Flash

Devon has started to fight Jesus fight , which is not smart he needs to stay on his bike, and fight smarter rounds

Posted June 21, 2014 10:34 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 5-0 Soto – Soto comes out fast. Nice right hook counters by Alex. Soto working harder now and won an exchange. Alexander seems to land 2 for every 1 punch of Soto. Soto landing good body shots. Alex movement slowed down fighting in close. Nice left by Alex. Soto is closing the gap but can’t quite give him the round.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:33 pm

Kid Flash

I did not want to see Karass get hit like this , Eating those punchers up , as per usual Jesus has no game plan at all . Sad to watch , his corner are telling him to open his eyes and that everything is OK .. OMG

Posted June 21, 2014 10:30 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 4-0 Soto – Nice lead left by Alexander. Both landing in the middle. 2nd flurry Alexander got the better of it. Alexander teeing off on Soto with 1:30 to go. Soto fighting back again. Speed is winning the day. Soto is going to the body but Alex looks fit. Some nice evasive defence at the end by Alexander.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:29 pm

Mongoose

I don’t know. Alexander seems to have the upper hand, but he does not fight smart. Let’s see if he gets away with it.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:29 pm

EZ E

Like I said, this will be a one sided or near shutout win for Alexander, no doubt

Posted June 21, 2014 10:27 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 3-0 Soto – Soto stalking Alex. Alex in and out too quick for Soto. Soto took 2 hard punches and then lands 2 body of his own. Alex mixing it up with Soto stupidly because it makes Soto look OK. When Alex darts in and out and throws combo he is a step above. Alexander did the better work again.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:25 pm

Kid Flash

Devon is looking the goods. Using movement ,and countering Jesus with nice combination punching to the head and body .

Posted June 21, 2014 10:23 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 2-0 Soto – Slower start to the 2nd. Soto leaning in and ate an uppercut. Speed is the difference at the moment. Soto trying to pressure but Alexander happy to mix it up on the inside. Alex landing and moving out. Doing the better work but an improved round for Soto.

Posted June 21, 2014 10:21 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Alex 1-0 Soto – Alexander started off fast. Established his jab. Work body and head. Set up some good combos. Much faster getting off first. Soto landed a hard right but didn’t do much damage.

With absolutely no confidence I’m picking, Alexander, Lomachenko, Guerrero. Never been a fan of Alexander, a bit of a fraud. Wasn’t impressed with Lomo in his last fight, didn’t have the workrate. Never heard or seen of the Japanese fighter, so who knows.

Good for Dawson. Hopefully he’ll remain focused and get the most out of the rest of his career.

Dawson is back, and i fancy him to beat anyone in the super middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. With that performance he’ll KO of those champions

I think in about an hour or 75 minutes (max) we will get to see Lomachenko destroying Garry “Arrogant” Russell

Graeme

I dont think it will be 2 1/2 hrs hopefully a little sooner than that

Lomo vs Russell?? In at least 2 1/2 hours or so. I believe the first fight is Alexander vs Soto Karras, followed by Lomo vs Russell (which most consider the true main event) and Guerrero vs Kamegai in the closing bout.

Q

Russell Vs. Lomachenko is a major fight in that division. It will establish a new champion between two decorated Olympians. One who is being handed championship opportunities back to back off loses and all, and the other who hasn’t really stepped up too much in competition over the years and is at the right age to really start going in against the best. This will be a very important bout. I’m also interested to see how Guerrero looks after being dominated by FMJ.

Hopefully not too long it’s the most interesting fight on the bill.

How many hours before Lomachenko vs Russell? About 2?
