TARK

On my scorecards.., Ali lost all 3 Norton fights… Lost the Young fight… Lost the Doug Jones fight… With the 10-point must system loses the 1st Frazier fight… Loses the 2nd Liston fight by DQ — for flagrantly refusing Joe Walcott’s repeated order to go to a neutral corner for the entire 10-count… Loses both Spinks fights… Loses the Holmes and Berbick fights … That’s 11 losses he deserved.

Ali refused to go to a neutral corner… And Liston didn’t break a single rule — but Liston lost his boxing license in every state of the union for several years, because three stupid boxing commissioners didn’t think he was hit hard enough to get knocked down, and that he faked the knockdown.

Liston got up and resumed fighting — so they retracted their accusation that he threw the fight.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

American Translation: “Chisora will be Like a Bug on a Windshield.”

In American English, a “windscreen” would be something that screens air while still allowing it to pass through.

(e.g., A sliding screen door to your patio, or screens on your windows, would be the closest objects to what we would think of as a “windscreens.”)

You guys are wrong. Fury is going to lose badly this time around. Every single time Chisora opened up on Fury in the first fight he had him in big trouble. Fury was bowling over in round 2 from a right hand and had been boxing ‘safe’ under the jab until then. Chisora will win this fight and really upset Furys career. All he has to do is land with relative frequency and if Joey Abell can hit Fury over and over then Chisora defo can. Chisora TKO 3 Fury

Tyson Fury should win. That’s assuming he boxes sensibly and doesn’t stick his chin out for Chisora to hit it, like he did in the Cunningham fight. Chisora’s probably gonna bring it early on and an early ko would be his best shot of winning. I see Fury winning it and maybe by stoppage later rounds.

Posted July 6, 2014 2:45 pm

Bill Patrice Jones

Myles his winning streak is suspect. The win over Malik Scott was farcical and looks worse given one parried shot from Wilder had Scott down and out. Kevin Johnson’s stock is falling fast like hell, people, myself included, thought Johnson to be a genuinely fighter when he got the nod to fight Vitali, but he’s been handled comfortably in all his significant fights since and seems to lack serious self belief. Chisora is way over hyped. People might like to see him getting beaten the hell out of by Wladimir, but I don’t think yet another horribly one sided and predictable Klitschko defense is good for the sport. 1./ Wilder 2./ Pulev 3./ Stiverne 4./ Fury and 5./ A returning Haye are realistically the only genuine current threats to Wladimir’s lengthy reign. People might hate Fury but he’s an interesting Klitschko opponent.

Myles

Patrice Jones, “Myles I know if he wins he’s in line, but that’s bad for the heavyweight division”

That’s nuts! A destruction of the face spitter? The face kisser? The face fondler? The face slapper? Chisora is disgusting. Another beating for him would be healthy for the heavyweight division.

Chisora tried to intimidate David Haye at K’s post fight press conference and DH crushed the bully on the spot. Haye’s had a lot of MMA training and doesn’t suffer bullies like Chisora. He trains like a beast from Hell and drills bullies without flinching

It was satisfying for fans when Haye schooled and dispathed big bully Chisora. Like Buster Douglas smashing the snarky young Mike Tyson. Nobody likes puffed up braggarts who think they rule the Earth because they’re big, strong, and tough. DC is a woman beater too.

Chisora learned a proper lesson from his double trouncing by Haye. He seems more humble and less full of himself. He has a good winning steak going since he’s been spanked like a child.

Because you earn a shot doesn’t mean you have a realistic chance of winning. Chisora just doesn’t punch hard enough so a lucky one punch turn around is out of the question.

Posted July 6, 2014 4:22 am

Bill Patrice Jones

Myles I know if he wins he’s in line, but that’s bad for the division. Chisora might earn a shot, but he’s not going to be able to mount any kind of serious challenge. If Chisora wins it willbe because Fury didn’t take this fight seriously enough, or lost his head during the bout (regrettably this are likely scenarios). Emmanuel Steward taught Wladimir Klitschko how to deal with aggressive squat heavy punchers the way he taught Lewis to. He completely erased Wladimir’s lack of confidence with guys who bomb forward. Look at Wladimir’s rematch with what was at the time a genuinely motivated and well trained Samuel Peter. He puts authority on punches early, and then totally demoralises them through accumulated accurate jabbing. Chisora will be destroyed by Wladimir. Fury on the otherhand poses a unique and intriguing proposition. Big, rangy fighter who can fight on the inside. It’s a MUCH better fight,

Posted July 6, 2014 3:23 am

The point is Myles is that Helenius was grossly overrated at the time. It took him 9 rounds to beat up a mummified Lyakhovic who couldn’t last two minutes with Wilder. He had beaten Brewster and Peter, which made his record look very strong. However, Brewster was literally going blind come fight night and Peter was so badly conditioned that after leading the fight gassed so badly he couldn’t take a solid punch. Helenius was also injured against Chisora, unable to punch with authority. Chisora won, it wasn’t a draw, but it wasn’t a strong indicator that he was a serious world contender. Haye crushed him, and the Scott win was a con job. Nice aggressive entertaining fighter for sure, but no one to consider for challenging for a title

Chisora is an overrated fighter in my opinion. He always looked a bit sloppy and unimpressive during his domestic rise. He’s lucky as hell the Wladimir Klitschko fight didn’t happen when originally slated to in 2011, he would have suffered a career ending beating. He got handled very comfortably by Fury, and then saw his stock rise in a sort of strange way. He fought pretty well against Helenius, who broke his right hand early in the fight. The bout was probably a draw, and then by virtue of that performance got the nod to face Vitali because Helenius was being touted as a big star in Europe. Chisora stayed in Klitschko’s face all night in that title bout, but he won almost no rounds and NEVER came close to hurting Vitali who himself was injured. I think Chisora’s stock rose too much after the Vitali fight. Because Klitschko had been so dominant since his emphatic comeback win against Peter in 2008, people over estimated Chisora for going the distance and staying competitive till the final round. In his next big fight he got absolutely destroyed by Haye.

The facts are Chisora is, and always has been, a fringe contender whose big claim to fame was going 12 rounds with Vitali. He’s a poor mans Samuel Peter. He simply doesn’t have concussive power for someone of his style at world level, nor can he fight inside. He’s tough, has a good engine, and a bustling style. That’s it. He would be murdered by the current version of Wladimir.

BPJ he’s been carefully protected and fought nobodies so far unless you count an out of shape Chisora first time around. I;ve watched Fury a lot the guy carries incredibly light snap in his fists for someone so huge.

He doesn;t cope too well with come forward styles either and I think he’s prone to gassing by anyone fit enough to pressure him.

He was damned lucky Haye got injured because his record would be for 1 by now.

He talks a good fight but that’s all it is so far hype and hot air. The way he suggested Haye ducked him by feigning injury is a joke too.

Having said all that he’s still early on in his career and if fights some worthwhile opps I’m happy to be proved wrong.

Joshua is the future in the UK IMO not Fury.

Bill Patrice Jones

Hmmm; Fury has a very solid professional record. He’s been matched competitively from pretty much day one. In his second pro fight he fought an opponent who sported a 21-3 record with amateur experience. In only his 8th pro fight he fought the very experienced Mcdermott for the English title. He’s beaten three undefeated rising fighters in; Rich Power, Marcelo Nascimento, Nevin Pajkic. He was the first fighter to beat Derek Chisora, winning quite comfortably when a big underdog. Solid wins over tough guys like Rogan, Maddalone, and Johnson, knocked out former cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham aswell. Fury has called out a host of bigger name contenders and I think he would have fought the likes of; Arreola, Peter or Adamek if he got the chance. Also remember he was willing to fight former two division champ Haye in his 22nd fight. Fury’s got a good record. A good looking win over Chisora gives him nice momentum, and I’d like to see him take 2 keep busy fights while he waits for his Klitschko chance, this keeps him active and keeps him relevant in the public’s mind. I think Fury staying active is hugely beneficial given his problems with manic depression, alcoholism and focus.

Posted July 5, 2014 6:29 am

Bill Patrice Jones

Tinker Bell I think Fury is strong enough to ruffle and frustrate Klitschko.

What people routinely ignore with Wladimir is just how unbearably painful and tiring it is for him to lean on you. Many times fighters get just as hurt from a clinch than from a punch. When you have 245 pounds putting strain on your back it hurts like hell.

He’s such an effective clincher. This is why Haye avoided being held at all costs in their fight. He was adamant never to be hurt or tired out in a hold, of course this backfired because he ended up looking ridiculous and should have just opted for roughness of combat and tried to hit him in a clinch.

Fury is no where near as physically powerful as Wladimir, but he is a very strong muscular man who is naturally tough. He’s also growing into his impressive frame month by month year by year.

It will be more mental than physical aswell. Fury doesn’t need to be as strong or stronger than Wladimir, all that really matters is that Klitschko will be having to deal with something he’s not had to before, or at least for a long time. This unexpected and new problem will potentially fluster Klitschko mentally and he’s never his best when flustered.

Fury will bring excitement, bravado and a fearless swagger to the ring if they fight. He certainly wont be BEATEN before the first bell which unfortunately I think many of his opponents during his 2006-2014 to a certain extent were. The new crop of contenders seem to believe in themselves more

Fury loves a fight . This cannot be argued . If anything he loves to fight too much . The cynic in me says he should use his height n his jab to box his way to decisions . But f**k that I wanna see him bein tru to his bareknuckle /streetfightin heritage n pumpin life back into boxings premier division .

Posted July 5, 2014 5:57 am

When Fury finally plucks up the courage to get in with a fighter with some talent he will be exposed for the feather fisted, slow lumbering giant he is.

I’m getting bored listening to this D level fighter spout off about how he’s the best in the business when he’s done nothing and even against weak opposition shown flaws.

BPJ
Thx for putting some interesting perspectives on the HW division. You make it more interesting than I thought previously.
One query: is Fury strong enough mentally and physically to ruffle K? He’s big, yes, but is he powerful?

Posted July 5, 2014 4:32 am

Bill Patrice Jones

Tyson Fury needs to win this fight, and win it big. Assuming that Wladimir beats Pulev, (not an easy fight) the fight everyone will want will be against the WBC champion. However, if Stiverne ducks Wilder or beats him there’s a good possibility Don King ruins the chances of that unification taking place. The Klitschkos hate him and don’t trust him, King will want too much money and perhaps prefer to try and make Stiverne a big worldwide star by holding onto the WBC belt as long as possible. If Wilder has the belt I see similar stumbling blocks to total unification. Will Klitschko be all that keen to take the fight if he sees Wilder ice Stiverne in 1-3 rounds? Will Wilder want to risk his belt right away or take his time? Will the other governing bodies let it happen or strip Wladimir of the WBO or WBA? Assuming it doesn’t happen the likelihood is that Klitschko then takes care of his other mandatories and the WBO is the likely option. Klitschko Vs Chisora is utterly pointless. Wladimir will thoroughly dominate Chisora from the outside hurt him early and just crush him worse than he did Sam Peter in 2010. Brutal round 6-8 TKO. He’s tailor made for the current incarnation of Wladimir. He will also be hard to do business with because the Klitschkos understandably hate him. Tyson Fury is a much more interesting opponent. His height might see Wladimir look to post impressive and entertaining punch numbers like he did against Wach, he also wont be able to clinch. If the two do get close Fury is the first big inside fighter that Wladimir has really fought at world level, this is another interesting component to the fight. I think it’s a highly intriguing fight with loads of possible outcomes; Fury might be knocked out brutally early on because of his questionable punch resistance, Fury might be able to unsettle Wladimir and force him into a rough fight with lots of hitting on the inside, Fury might even decide to be very patient and trade jabs on the outside. I want to see that fight. I hope Fury doesn’t blow this oppurtunity, he should win big but I’ve got lingering doubts.

Fists of Fury

My friends, my fellow fight fans, Luke ‘Tyson’ Fury, the 6’9″ unbeaten heavyweight boxing sensation, will DELIVER a performance of EPIC proportions this July 26 as he crushes an outclassed Dereck Chisora for the second time and then goes on to challenge the ALL TIME GREAT Champ Wladimir Klitschko next year. Mr Tyson Fury is truly a ferocious fighting phenomenon… undefeated, unbeaten, unbowed, defiant, charismatic, balletic, magnetic, the list of superlatives goes on…with the looks and voice of a matinee screen idol from the 1950′s, the multi-talented, yet humble, Tyson Fury is READY to show the watching world all across the Globe YET AGAIN that the Gigantic Goliath of a Gypsy with a Granite Chin is up to the task of taking on such a dominant champion as Dr Steelhammer Wladimir Klitschko by destroying the wild man of pugilism Del Boy in a convincing manner worthy of a top contender. Fury is indeed a fabulous, fantastic, flash, full of finesse, a fighting larger-than-life figure. With the grace of a ballet dancer, a possessor of superb footwork, exhilerating hand speed, a piston-like jab, an uppercut of undeniable power and a devastating right cross, allied to the fighting spirit of a warrior, this man Tyson Fury is PRIMED to CONQUER yet again and await a World Title shot in 2015. We are all Priveliged to witness such a Boxing Master in our lifetimes. Enjoy!!!!

Flipping tractor tires is an old school way used in training American football players. It helps overall body strength and explosiveness. Pushing a tractor is similar but focuses more on the lower body. Noy sure you would want to build larger muscle in your legs. Boxing is more of a marathon than a sprint.

Chisora has a punchers chance. He was outboxed last time with Fury and Fury seems to have gotten better. No guarantees, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Fury dominates and knocks out Chisora late.

If dieticians are all about the Krebs cycle and NADPH+, that doesn’t seem of much practical use. You won’t get very far going to the supermarket and looking for the tricarboxylic acid aisle, or asking for a bacon double cheeseburger with extra amyalse in Burger King. There’s no point in bothering your body with lots of unnecessary science stuff as your body is quite capable of getting on with business by itself, without your understanding what it’s up to. Just eat lots of pizza because it tastes good, and keep away from fruit juice as it contains far too much sugar, and you’ll be okay.

boxers like canelo should have nutritional advisers

Posted July 4, 2014 6:04 am

Turb0-H@mster..

IN fairness, although both Wlad and Vitali have PhD’s, as I understand it their thesis was more on the business side of things – sponsorship in sport and such.

Sports science degrees are of somewhat limited value – in a year with 50 graduates, 1-2 will be quality scientists who have chosen this route, while the other 58 are glorified PE teachers, or eventual personal trainers.

The science behind a lot of exercise isn`t actually THAT complicated.

Regarding the diet for a boxer and whether they need highly qualified nutritional advisers…..overall, most people don`t actually need such specific advice.

It`s going to be low fat high protein food, and enough steamed vegetables and fresh fruit to cover the vitamin and mineral requirements, with the carbohydrates managed to ensure an energy deficit to bring weight down slowly.

You can mess about with this supplement and that superfood, but most of them are unsupported b0110cks.

There’s some value to protein powders within 30-60 mins of exercise, and creatinine taken to build up for specific events, but mostly you can`t go wrong with steamed veggies plus skinless chicken, fish and so on for as long as you can stand it.

And not so much fruit juice – its full of fructose, and you don`t need so much to get the required nutrients.

Chisora has looked awful since the Haye fight IMO. Fury on the other hand has got better. So Fury by a wide points win i reckon.

Good to see Josey Wales back here. What ever happened to the #1 Mackem Stevie C & the clown that was boxing “No” knowledge?

Bob Fitzsimmons training system was quite unique.
Rise, roar egg, sherry, 5 mile jog out 5 mile fast pace walk back. Rub down, nap, lunch, sparring & bag work, shower, dinner & theatre.

A boxer doesn’t need a nutritionist. Doesn’t need a chef. Doesn’t need a strength trainer. Doesn’t need a cardio conditioning expert. Doesn’t need a masseur. Doesn’t need an assistant trainer. Doesn’t need a chauffeur. Doesn’t need body guards. Doesn’t need a fight manager. Doesn’t need a business manager. Doesn’t need an investment manager. Doesn’t need a tax expert. Doesn’t need a lawyer. Doesn’t need buds or unemployed relatives hanging around wanting to help. Doesn’t need to limit his availability by signing with a promoter; or signing multi-fight deals…

You’ll be like Pacquiao before long… Your net worth will be a negative number.

Say, “I need a one-fight contract. We’ll both do very well … and we’ll talk again.”

A boxer needs one great boxing coach who will also help line up fights. Needs to read a lot about nutrition, strength training, and cardio conditioning. Needs a cut man only on fight night. Needs an alert third corner person to hand items up in a flash, only on fight night. You could use Vi Em or Jo Bo. Needs a website. Needs an email address. Needs a business phone number. Needs to keep his phone turned off unless he’s returning calls. When people say they’ll call you back say, “I may be hard to reach. When can I call you back?”

Fury is a joke… I can’t take that guy seriously… Again I say…”The only thing tough about Fury is his trash talk and his name… Tyson Fury.. Awesome name…. Weak fighter.”

Btw nice comment Turbo. Get you a case of beer for that one.

Hmmmm

I’m only sad that David Haye didn’t hand Fury’s arse to him on a plate by getting injured.

Fury is so full of hype it’s unreal.

Fury powers his body with hotdogs and jello pudding pops, he gets his nutritional information from Ronald McDonald.

Turb0-H@mster..

I`ve listened to a nutritionist boggle on about energy before, then asked them what ATP is.

Asked if they have eve heard of the Krebs cycle/ tricarboxylic acid cycle?

If they know what NADPH+ is, or what an amylase does.

They never know. They like to use the odd scientific word here or there to add an air of legitimacy to what is essentially “eat more vegetables and take this vitamin supplements I get a kick back on”, but they`ve never once read the papersany of it is based on.

That said, if I were Fury’s nutritionist. I would prescribe that he consume a boot via rectum every 5 minutes.

Turb0-H@mster..

Actually ECAT is exactly right.

Dieticians will often work in hospitals, and will design specific diets for people with certain needs – like cancer patients, or people on liquid diets, people who can`t have certain substances and so on. They are highly trained individuals – I have a degree in Biochemistry and pharmacology, and for the first year and a half of the degree there were both dieticians and medical student in a lot of the same courses.

Nutritionists have no qualifications. ZERO. I could put a sign on my door saying T.Hamster Nutritionist right now and break no rules, and in fact I`d be more qualified that 99% of nutiritinists.

Google “Gillian McKeith bad science” to get an idea of how dumb even one of the worlds most famous nutritionists was.

Fury wins this important British fight but gains little on the world stage as a result. His next effort needs to be a world-relevant fighter. Chisora is a tough one but not a big noise.

Fight Aficionado

“The Manchester giant has been pushing a three and half ton tractor at his Bolton training camp to build up his strength.” – Am I the only one who got a laugh out of their using The Manchester giant to desribe Fury? Guess we found out what happened to the Giant. Now Fury’s trash talk makes perfect sense. LOL.

This fight will go the distance with Chisora to get the nod this time.

Posted July 3, 2014 3:00 pm

I have a feeling bout this fight. They both seem better prepared this time and if chisora can maintain his effort it could go for a while. Fury seems very animated, more than usual. He also seems a bit scatty and unpredictable, more so than usual. I’ll be watching.

Anonymous… There is almost no difference between a dietician and a nutritionist?? They vary GREATLY in education… Dietician is a legal term & only someone who has taken a 4year university degree (or a postgraduate diplom in nutrition&dietetics) is ALLOWED to use the title dietician…The term nutritionist is NOT legally protected (in most countries) & ANYONE can call themselves nutritionist! There are A LOT of charlatans in this field!!

I love how people keep claiming I took Martinez vs. Cotto. I knew Cotto would TKO Sergio all along. Why are people saying I would take a broken down cripple? Jealousy perhaps? I will always remain the greatest fight PROPHET ever born!!!’

Fury lacks discipline & motivation; he’s unwilling to discipline his body by regular exercise & by abstinence… Some boxers just don’t realize how important correct nutrition, disciplined training & enough rest is and they step into the ring at less than a hundred percent fighting shape…. it’s a shame.

Fury wins by KO in similar fashion as what Haye did to Chisora.

Posted July 3, 2014 11:45 am

rod

Fury will win the by KO or wide UD. He is better on the outside and the inside and is way too tall for chisora. Chisora has one chance and that is fury loses concentration like he did in the cunnngham fight. If fury has trained hard and is focused he will win.

TARK

Watch this video and Tyson Fury trying to sprint. He’s as fast as Joe Frazier

Once a week Tyson does sprints, and is about as fast as a 100-year-old invalid. He gets blown away by 3 super slow guys. WOW what a tough workout schedule.
