The brits use to be the best at everything until the yanks came along with their steroids and performance enhancing drugs. Say no more

TARK…seriously fella, what is the point in cherry picking a bunch of British fighters that got beaten by American fighters??? Anyone can do that…e.g. Honeyghan smashed up the No.1 P4P fighter in the world in Don Curry. I think that trumps the ones you picked.

American football. LMFAO.

what a load of bollocks. The likes of messi, ronaldo etc are known in just about every country on the planet whilst your so called nfl stars are not even household names in their own houses.Stick to gorging on burgers and shooting anything that moves and leave proper sports to the educated and SLIM brits.

LMFAO Brit.., American Football is going great in Europe. It’s a billion dollar game over there for a couple years already. Basketball and Baseball are BIG ASS in Europe

You Brits keep trying to invent tough manly games — Cricket, Badminten, Scuttlecock, Snooker, Lawn Bowling, Curling, Squash, Rounders… pppphfffffffftttt

Keep going Brits. You’ll come up with something yet.

Hahaha who doesn’t dominate that stinky little island? But still your football players wear padding and helmets like some sissified splooge garglers.

Posted July 12, 2014 3:43 am

TARK

It was 2 Americans who knocked Lennox Lewis FLAT… One punch affairs.

Andre Ward hammered Froch quite freely seems to me.

Five Americans and a Swed knocked Henry Cooper stiff.

Floyd showcased a jab and check hook to flatten Hatton.

Tim Bradley knocked Junior Witter on his ass.

Terence Crawford beat the SHlT out of Ricky Burns.

Deontay will crush Fury when they meet. Chisora too. Those will be fun to watch.

Porter will take care of Brook

Americans 13 – Brits 0 … for those particular fights

Then there’s the Revolutionary War—where we kicked Brit butt off the continent.

Too be serious, I love going over to England – but the food is better in America, France, Italy, and Germany…

BTW.., Germany wins another World Cup today. They’ve got a great team. The Brits sucked to the quasars again.

TARK – Your football players wear shoulder pads? Hahahaha what a bunch of p.u.s.sies. When you are too uncoordinated, soft as butter or unfit to play a real sport, there is always American Football.

This is a great fight… I’m picking Porter but it’s one of those super tough fights that can hang on a single punch.

like a great football game and you’r leading 35-31, a pass bounces off a shoulder pad, lands in an opponents’ hands, and he runs it back 80 yards for the decisive score.

Trust me, I’m a fridge.

Brook will lose by stoppage. Porter beat him easily.

JE, personally I would’ve liked Brook to have been moved along quicker but I don’t necessarily think that Porter has been matched much tougher. Alexander and Malignaggi are definitely a level above what Brook has been fighting but prior to that their is not much tougher on Porter’s record than Senchenko and Jones on Brook’s. I think this fight will be closer than you think.

Posted July 11, 2014 11:09 am

JE

In this fight you’ll see the difference in a fighter who has come up the hard way against a variety of top opponents (Porter) and one whose record is stuffed with weak opponents (Brook). This current method of fighting a seemingly endless number of third-rate fighters, and then gaining a title shot (of sorts) leads to a talented fighter (Brook) not being able to measure up when he finds himself in difficulty. Too bad his team has squandered his considerable ability and has not prepared him for elite competition.

Posted July 11, 2014 8:47 am

theyiddo

Malignaggi was the first decent fighter thar Porter has knocked out – just look at some of the crap on Porter’s file. He knocked out some roadsweepers early in his career, but since steppin up a level, its been points wins. If Brook has put in the effort in the training for this one (and I’m not sure he always does), then I take Brook for a points victory by 3 or 4 rounds.

Posted July 11, 2014 7:43 am

Rich

Brook has the tools to beat Porter,he´s a swinger and not particularly good boxer and he´s not a chilling puncher…he does come forward though and that will work in Kells favour,he is also a swarmer and will not give Brook a lot of time to set himself. In his first fight with Carson Jones he looked great for six rounds but began to fade fast in the later rounds and Jones is no where near as good as Porter, but he took Kells best punches and never looked like going down.If Kell lets him blow hard for the first half by just boxing him and jolting his head off with jabs second half he can start working him…..We really don´t know if Porter can take a big punch…..

TARK says…,

Obviously there’s no evidence of design in well evolved species..

Try to make a mechanical bird that can fly as well as a humming bird. Easy as pie. Or make a mechanical fish that can swim as fast as a sailfish (70 mph). No problem. There are thousands of species of fish—but you would tell me they were all produced by natural selection and mutations. There are thousands of creatures at the bottom of the ocean, but you would say they are all the product of evolution… Lions, tigers, bears, horses, asses, trout and basses all got here mysteriously by natural selection and evolution. No intelligence was needed to create them – and down to their last inticate boson they’re a fluke of the universe.

You believe no intelligent being created the sun. The sun would destroy us if our orbit were 5 million miles closer to it – but we could not exist for even one second without it’s heat. We’d be ice crystals instantly without the warmth of the sun… but I guess you think it’s poorly designed because it causes it causes electronic interference from time to time… If God really existed we could just show a steak to the sun – it would cook it instantly by concentrating a few of its rays on it… Why didn’t God think of that?

But many people are too arrogant to acknowledge a creator.

Did you know about the outside world when you were in the womb??? Did you know all about galaxies and super novas when you were 6 years old??? Don’t you think it’s possible that you just haven’t found God yet??? That you’ve simply closed you mind off to the possibility of God, and that could change???

My brother fell away from the church and became an agnostic later in life. He told me, “I don’t believe in God anymore. God is a fable mankind has been brainwashed into believing.” This was after he retired.. A year later he got cancer and a few months later he died.. A few days before he died he asked for Extreme Unction.. I was shocked at his change of heart, but very happy.. He seemed jovial and never complained once after that.

The 30 or 40 closest relatives had no discussion with him about God or religion. We didn’t want to argue with him, upset him, or disturb him in his poor health. We just prayed for him. He received the last rights, confession, and communion.. Just before he died he said he felt very peaceful and overjoyed. He said, “I’ll see you folks later in Heaven” and died.

You probably think he was only fooling himself. He only believed because he was dying. You had to be there and see his tranquil experssion and appearance, then you’d know.

Porter doesn’t view this as a close bout he knows he’s going to THRASH Brook. Brook has NO shot at WINNING here. TARK is OFF his rocker on THIS one. Brook LOSES by FREIGHT TRAIN THRASHING knockout.

hibdeebibdee

Brook has a very good jab, a strong chin, and decent footwork. But he doesn’t move hisu head much and he took a lot more punches from Robles and Senchenko than he should have–especially from Robles. Granted he stopped both of them, but I think he gets hit to much. Porter is an explosive fighter who will do his best to exploit Brook’s defensive lapses.

On the other hand, Porter had best not leave his chin hanging out for Brook.

“Surprised the fight is here in the states cause nobody knows who porter is here” – It would do bigger money in the UK but Carson has consistently drawn big crowds. I think Porter’s people view this as a close, must-win bout and didn’t want the additional risk of fighting offshore.

Posted July 10, 2014 10:59 am

Porter will try and get in close but once he eats some flush hard uppercuts he’ll be having other plans, none of them good and all of them painful.

Mick why go to Cali when there’s a heatwave in Sheffield.

Posted July 10, 2014 10:53 am

St Vitus Dance

While Brook IS talented I think his style only works if he has space, space which Porter will deny him, Porter will rough him up and knock him out of any rhythm, I can see an exhausted and demoralised Brook pulled out by his corner before round 10………….

Tinker Bell

I think Heaven 17 and The Human League were also bands from Sheffield and were huge in the 1980s.

Mick The Marmalizer

I totally agree with you. Kell should have switched his camp Stateside already and avoid all the noise from home and just get tunnel vision for Porter, although with all the postponements he’s had to endure he probably won’t believe he’s fighting for the title until that first bell rings!

Kell should review all the tapes from Bomber Graham right through to the likes of Witter to get his style on point not only to frustrate the life out of Porter, but then to be in position to punish him every time he overcommits and makes a mistake.

Posted July 10, 2014 7:51 am

I’d have thought Brook would have been in California now, not a couple of weeks time.

TARK

This is going to be a savage fight..

Porter is giving up reach and height.. He’s planning on getting close and throwing bombs like he did versus Malignaggi.. Hooks and uppercuts with both hands inside.

He’s going to be taking some heavy fire if he wants to make that work.

Posted July 10, 2014 5:22 am

Tinker bell

I think Joe cocker came out of Sheffield. He was grand in the 70s b4 he sold out.

Posted July 10, 2014 5:10 am

Bill Patrice Jones

This is a HUGE fight for Kell Brook. He absolutely can’t afford to lose it. An impressive win here is a major boost to his rising stock

Posted July 10, 2014 4:39 am

Mick the Marmalizer

If the official’s are 100% neutral then Brook stands a good chance of going home with the laurels here, he’s the #1 in Europe & the Commonwealth @ 147Lb even though he’s never fought for the title’s & can hold his own with anyone. Porter’s a tough nut to crack, but if anyone can do it then it’s Brook!

Animosity

I hope brook tears that over hyped yank porter to pieces.
Ofcourse he’s going to look good against mallinaggi when paulie has got no power and porter can just walk him down and get his punches off. Why is Amir khan disregarded for beating mallinaggi but all of a sudden an aged mallinaggi is classed as a great win for porter. It’s this American bias that grinds my gears and I hope kell smashes porter late in the fight after giving him Boxing master class ala calzaghe/lacy.
Yanks are the cheesiest people on earth and there’s nothing better than seeing one of their own have a beating, especially from a Brit.

There have been much worse mandatory challenges than Kell Brook he will at the very least compete with Porter. Don’t think there be a thrashing ever way here.

Brook is in for a sound thrashing.

bacontown

How in the hell did Brook get to be anybodys mandatory?

Posted July 9, 2014 4:40 pm

hamster la cubierre drive

I think brook is fundamentally better than porter though not as strong physically. Problem is us judges are selective for the US fighter when deciding whether to award pressure and activity or better punches.

Look at how Alexander is given fights for hundreds of grunt punches at someone’s gloves and no clean punching. But Floyd fights and suddenly how much you throw is irrelevant

I don’t trust the judges one bit in this fight. Brook needs a ko to draw

Posted July 9, 2014 4:28 pm

1903

If Kell Brook sticks to his boxing and doesn’t try and slug it out toe to toe he either takes it on points or wears Porter down for a late stoppage.
