They’re not making these decisions… Vitlai has his hands full in Kiev… Wladimir has his hands full with Pulev.

The people managing GGG career are trying to increase the pressure on the other major title holders… They may have a different idea of how to do it than me.

If it were my decision, that’s how I would do it… Money talks.

You’re saying that Wlad and Vitali who are Golovkins promoter aren’t TOO smart then. They have enough to fund Fights vs Quillin and Cotto.

So why shouldn’t Canelo fight GGG??? Why aren’t Canelo Cheer leaders like little fat te tumbo demanding Canelo fight GGG even at 154lbs and prove he’s a great fighter?? Nope, they’re ok with Canelo fighting shot broken old smaller Clottey.. LOL what fkn idiotas..

Going back to the title topic. Soliman apparently is willing to risk a fight with GGG, but not til next year. Quillin’s promoter Oscar pretends he’s willing but Quillin says nothing. Cotto’s promoter says no. Canelo, radio silence. So, it’s likely another random opponent for GGG next and possible unification vs Soliman in 2014.

But the plan is to unify and go after Ward… Unless some super hot prospect comes up while he’s doing that.

I would make Golovkin a slight favorite to beat Ward if he has a tune-up at 168, which was the idea behind the Chavez fight… He needed that fight to get ready for Ward, but Chavez is a flake.

GGG is faster. He jabs better. He punches harder. Ward is a lot bigger, taller, and stronger. They both defend brilliantly so it’s a damned tough fight – risky for both men.

The problem is there’s nobody at 168 for GGG to fight once he beats Ward.. Froch said he won’t fight him.. Chavez flaked off.. Groves is a baby with a diaper full.

At 160 he has Cotto… he has Quillin… he has Alvarez… By that time he’ll have Billy Joe Saunders… The division is bustling — the fights just have to be made.

Golovkin has clearly stated that he wants to fight at 160 after his fight with Geale. To tell him to fight Ward does not make sense. My personal opinion is that Ward would be to big a task for him, and don’t think he could possibly beat Ward at this time. I myself think, Ward who not long ago made a claim that he could beat one of the Klitschko brothers should at least go up to light heavyweight division. Da La Hoya has brought up about a fight between Quillen and Golovkin, in another article here Sam Soliman has mentioned Golvkin, though I have not heard from the Coto camp on a possible fight with Golvkin, hopefully though HBO would like that fight.

@ Cotto the Champion makes excuses.., “Everyone’s acting as though Cotto is without any tools to deal with GGG. At the very least, GGG would go 12 rounds with Cotto and be out of breath. Actually, even Canelo can deal with GGG more so than Chavez Jr.”

BULLSHlT… Canelo is too damned slow and gets smashed.

Cotto isn’t fast enough, tall enough, or strong enough to deal with Golovkin.. But I will definitely say Cotto is an ATG fighter—but mainly because he’s a world champion in 4 weight classes..

But Cotto was very lucky to fight very easy fighters he could easily beat in 3 of those divisions when he made his move — including rickety 39-year-old Sergio Martinez with wrecked knees, who’s been fading badly for 3 fights… Yuri Foreman with one problem knee going completely out during his fight with Cotto.. These situations fell right into Cotto’s lap when he grabbed those divisional titles.

A guy like Trout who dominated Cotto would be a sitting duck for GGG.. For one thing Trout isn’t sturdy.. for another thing Trout can’t absorb a hard punch.. for a 3rd thing Trout can’t punch. He hasn’t knocked anyone out for at least 10 fights.

Golovkin wants Cotto next, he would knock Cotto out, but first he will fight Soliman for a unification fight, winning another title will give him more power for a big fight., Golovkin wants Cotto now, but Cotto is afraid, very afraid. Golovkin also said that he would come all the way down to 154 and fight Void, but Void is a damned coward and will not fight him, nor will he fight Pac.

Geales’ manager: Golovkin is one of the best middleweights of all time!!!

Posted July 29, 2014 2:03 am

Cotto The Champion

Cotto has equal skills to GGG if not even more experience. Cotto could and would TKO ALL of GGG’s opponents thus far. Even GGG’s speed, Cotto can neutralize. The only variable factor is GGG’s punching power which may or may not be as hard-hitting as Cotto’s. Even so, Cotto has all the skill sets to keep GGG at bay and at short notice. Everyone’s acting as though Cotto is without any tools to deal with GGG. At the very least, GGG would go 12 rounds with Cotto and be out of breath. Actually, even Canelo can deal with GGG more so than Chavez Jr.

Sredmond only wants canelo to win so he can compare to floyd. GGG stops canelo then sred will cut himself

Sredmond is ignorant…, ” Canelo can also punch and I would give him an edge in speed compared to GGG… The guys that bedeviled Canelo all were slick guys that offered movement, Golovkin is there to be hit all night long.”

Golovkin has tremendous foot speed, and is much faster than Canelo.. You didn’t watch the Geale fight.. Golovkin showed better foot movement than Floyd did in his last fight against a many times beaten Maidana.. GGG often retreated and pivioted with lightning speed while avoiding punches, or brunt impact of any that landed.

Canelo couldn’t cut the ring off on Lara when Lara chose to move.. And Canelo took straigtht lefts flush to the head.. If Lara could punch like Golovkin that fight would have been OVER!!! Golovkin easily cut the ring off on everybody he’s faced in all his title defenses.. You can’t get away from him.. He retreats a lot faster than Canelo does, slipping and sliding off punches and pivoting whiled doing so.. He rarely takes punches flush like Canelo often does.

I’m sure if Golovkin fights Cotto, you won’t be seeing 3G’s corner breaking out the King-Sized Q-Tips, dipping them into coagulant, and shoving them up GGG’s nose to stem all the bleeding, like happened to Floyd… I’m sure you won’t see GGG staggering and grabbing like old Mosley had Floyd doing.

GGG is a little too fast, slick, and masterful for any of that to happen to him.

“GGG hits hard but it takes more than that, he is slow and a plotter he likes to get you on the ropes and unload.” – Teflon you’re not watching GGG if you think he’s a plodder. Watch his footwork, it’s textbook. Watch how he cuts off the ring, he practices this in the gym countless hours. Compare how he cuts off the ring to how Canelo walks after opponents. GGG’s hand speed is only above average but the angles he hits from and the power in those hands more than compensates.

If Cotto’s people would agree to fight Triple G then Cotto would not hesitate to get into the ring with him.But his people know that if they make this match then Cotto will most likely retire after this type of fight.Cotto can not match GGG’s speed, power, or skill at this point in his career (or maybe at any point in his career). Cotto would not last 4 rds.Either he would be KOed or his corner would have to save his health by throwing in the towel.Nobody from 54-68 besides maybe ward beats this kid.He will not be able to really showcase his skills because the so called elites of his weight class will run, duck, & cover whenever his name is mentioned. Ward would fight him but it would not be an easy win by no means. If Ward would be stupid enough to trade with him then Ward takes a nap.If Ward would be allowed his jab, grab, & headbutt strategy then Ward maybe wins by MD.Anybody and I mean anybody who tries to trade punches with this kid from 154 to 168 goes to sleep period.

Cotto is no ducker. He will, however, make the best financial decision for Miguel Cotto with the least risk. In this case both are a huge risk. That said, Cotto isn’t afraid of either challenge though both Canelo and GGG beat the smaller, older Cotto. He will likely choose Canelo w a huge fan base and proven ppv track record. GGG will get into the ppv mix and likely be devastating. Right now its far more risk with not enough reward but his fan base is growing exponentially.

Miguel Cotto would definitely fight GGG because he’s a true fighter, and there’s no doubt about that. He is a warrior that fears no one, but the reality is that he would take a beating from GGG. Miguel is not a middleweight. He’s older and slower, and most importantly he takes punches and he won’t quit. GGG would have to hurt him. I don’t even want to see that fight because Cotto is a decent and humble human being. A canelo fight would suit him best, but even then, his short falls won’t allow him to beat these younger, bigger stronger guys. Age catches up to everyone.

But 160 needs unification and nobody knows if Jr can actually make 160 anymore. The money fights are Cotto vs Jr and Cotto vs Canelo so it won’t be surprising if that’s where he goes. But since Cotto is the man who beat the man and the linear champion him vs GGG is the most meaningful fight at 160.

Although I respect Cotto for his accomplishments and his ability as a professional, he is on his downside regardless of his win over a very injured Martinez. I prefer GGG to face either Chavez or Alvarez, but especially Alvarez. GGG will take both out but will have an easier time with Alvarez who is not nearly as good as De La Hoya would have us believe.

Some of your protectionists are really detracting from the legend you are trying to promote, Cotto was a guy who started at 140 and had the balls to challenge for the crown at 160 and apparently carried his punch… He had Martinez down 3x in the first round, you guys don’t think Golovkin can handle some action at 168 and when he started at 160?????

Golovkin fights at 160, he wants to get all the belts at that weight division, so they won’t be fighting for a long time yet.

To prove himself worthy of being in the ring with Golovkin, Ward needs to fight Kovalev at 175 the weight he won the gold medal in the Olympics.

Cotto haters be hating on him bc he ain’t American or Mexican. Simple as that. Jealousy, simple as that

GGG is a natural middleweight and should NOT go up to Super Middle – Abraham made the mistake of going to Super Middle

Soliman might be game.

@ horse face, paquiao was still on d roids when he fought cotto. Cotto don’t needs to fight ggg. Not enough money there plus ggg hasn’t done enough to get spanked or possibly knocked out like Martinez did.

Elite fighters running scared of GGG

I love seeing all this so called ‘Elite fighters’ running away from Golvokin like the gutless pampered little prima donna chickens they really are.

Cotto = chicken. he’ll never fight GGG and if he does he’ll get destroyed.

Canelo = chicken, he’ll never fight GGG, that overrated ginger bum stands no chance at all.

Mayweather = the biggest chicken of them all. He’d rather pick on women than face Golovkin at 154.

Qullian stands no chance at all.

Soliman, he stands no chance at all.

Murray, would put up a good fight, he’s hard as nails, but he’d still lose.

A fight against Andre Ward would show where he’s at.

My 2 cents

“Hopkins, craft and guile will expose this latest hype job.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hilarious. YES please Bernard you racist pig fight Golovkin at 160. I’d love to see that old piece of crap flattened for good.

Cotto and Canelo will face each other before they face GGG. Much more money and lower Dr. bills.

PRUDENTIAL

Something I learned last Saturday about GGG is that he can hit harder than most fighters and the he can also get hit hard and often by B level boxers.

My 3 cents

Hopkins is an old 175 pounder…

The Greatest

Cotto gets busted up a barbarically stopped in the mid to late rounds following a brutally one sided beating.

Golovkin against Quillin, Soliman or Canelo look good. I don’t think Cotto next is on the cards. GGG looks the world’s best at middleweight and is very, very strong at 160lb. He should stay at MW for a few more fights yet, then look to maybe step up to 168.

My 2 cents

Hopkins, craft and guile will expose this latest hype job.

SREDMOND

I think that Canelo vs GGG is an interesting fight… Canelo can also punch and I would give him an edge in speed compared to GGG… The guys that bedeviled Canelo all were slick guys that offered movement, Golovkin is there to be hit all night long and Alvarez will have his opportunities if he can avoid the big shot;…

horst fraze

if pacquio can hurt cotto badly, what can golovkin do?

Posted July 28, 2014 2:41 pm

gary

so want the fight with cotto to be made, but this is somewhere between slim & no chance and slims out of town. he will face soliman and add the IBFs strap.

Livershot

The only one that would man up is Lara. His movement and sneaky left hands might give GGG some problems. Trout may also take a shot because his career has stalled. Canelo’s people will avoid this fight just escaping the last one with a suspect 117-111 score. Cotto’s people will avoid GGG as well because they can squeeze out a few more paydays with less risk. Qullian might step up if they let him. I would say Chavez Jr but he might get high or come in too fat for the fight. GGG will have to drain himself or jump up to the next division.

Mr Gav

Agree there. Canelos people will keep him safe at jnr middle till GGG moves up. Cotto will want to fight him but I think his people will avoid this and may pursue canelo themselves in a Puerto Rico vs Mexico mega fight. The only real options are qulin who is unbeaten and holds his own world title or Martin Murray. Apart from those there is not much out there for GGG un fortunatly for him he will be avoided which is a shame as he needs to fight the big names. A dream fight will be mayweather but I’m guessing he will avoid GGG like the plague

DaTruth Hurtzzz

There’s no Fkn way DelaDruggie and Cinnabums people will let him anywhere near GGG even at 154lbs.. GingerBuns will have to continue fighting 140lb’ers or shot 147lb’ers… Canelo would get knockedafkoutCold… and Canelos people know it… They’ll push for Canelo to take on Old Broken Shot 147lb Clottey??? ROFLMAO.. Canelos got to be the biggest Mexican Hyped Flop in over 15 years…
