Lewis was the best,Posted October 28, 2012 2:45 pm
Lennox’s comment where he starts with “i was the best” was a new low for lennox. just sadPosted October 28, 2012 12:26 am
What a huge loss to boxing especially at this time. This was a huge shocker I dont think anyone knew how bad this was. There shouldve been some special films with steward. just volumes. getting his knowledge and experience and life into a detailed volume. thats how important I think emanuel was. huge loss to boxing. and huge blunder stewards knowledge and experience was not layed out.Posted October 28, 2012 12:25 am
Widowtaker39 – don’t get so emotional, don’t forget to breath. Emanuel was key to WK’s success. Math is easy when you take away the major denominator. Lewis was Emanuels favorite, Lewis listened to every instruction, WK not so much. WK will fight no ones from now on, just K2′s little German shows …zzzz zzzzz zzzzzzPosted October 27, 2012 6:40 pm
Being a huge boxing fan and Having worked in the funeral industry for several years, I would like to induce a thought provoking question. What is the most important thing on a tombstone? Well that would be the “-” in between when you were born and when you pass. The “-” represents your whole life- your aspirations as a child, your trial an error as a young adult, the friends whose lives you touched, your successes, etc… Manny’s “-” is full of a life of great aspirations, successes and friends friends from all over the globe. Thanks for the memories, you will be missed greatly Mr. Steward . My condolences to family and friends, I ask God to comfort all effected personally from his passing.Posted October 27, 2012 10:45 am
Scumbags like ‘Blessing’ would love for that to happen but it won’t. Hope Blessing gets hit by a bus soon for tainting this tribute to Emanuel with his selfish comments.Posted October 26, 2012 7:43 pm
Now watch the decline of WK.Posted October 26, 2012 6:02 pm

RIP EMANUEL STEWARDPosted October 26, 2012 12:20 pm
Classy commentary by Klitschko befitting a terrific trainer, boxing legend and by most accounts a GREAT human being… Wlad will go down as one of Stewards best efforts and a testament to his ongoing work ethic and relevance in the sport even as time and disease took their toll…. RIP MannyPosted October 26, 2012 10:54 am

The final bell
What a sad day for boxing, boxing has lost one of the most significant and important figures it had. Wish more words could be put down to describe how I feel, but right now watching boxing just won’t feel the same. RIP Emanuel, and my sympathy to his family and friends and the boxers.Posted October 26, 2012 5:52 am

You’re predicting a death? And claiming that a man who saved ppl from the street is in hell? You are the embodiment of classless commentary.Posted October 25, 2012 11:50 pm
Manny > boxingPosted October 25, 2012 10:46 pm
Dang I just saw this news now !!!!! I can’t believe this. No not Manny. It wasnt Mannys time !!!!!Posted October 25, 2012 9:48 pm
Boxing has lost a ledgend . .Though I only knew him from what I saw on the media. He seemed like one of the few celebrites i wisih I could talk to in person . He was entertaining as a commentator . HE would explain the fights very well without trying to show how brillant he was . He was a modest man he openly said how he over trained Thomas Hearns for the Ray Leonard fight because he was a newer trainer at the time . Though Thomas never mentioned that. And his record as a trainer speaks for it self . He started many a champ frrom the beginning Thomas HEARns and many of the boxers from kronk. many boxers went with him from first amature bout to there last championship fight . and he could boost fighters carrers lennox lewis and even save carrers wlad klitchko. As a trainer he seemed to know when to show compassion for his fighter or when to push the fighter on . The compasion he showed for hilmer kenty and wanted to stop the fight with sean ogrady when he realized kennty was giving his all. But couldnt save his title .And the way he yelled at wlad klitchko, jermaine taylor, or lennox lewis to ko tyson and stop vitali klitchko.I know I will never watch a major boxing match again without thinking manny steward is no longer involved as a commentator or a trainer .I know he will be missed greatly . GOD rest his soul and bring his friends and family peacePosted October 25, 2012 8:00 pm

Great Man and Great Trainer. He had that rare combination of wisdom, intelligence, and genuine goodness.Posted October 25, 2012 5:22 pm
SAD, SAD DAY today as I’ve had confirmation of the death of one of the Great trainers of any era, the one and only EMANUEL STEWARD….
I pray he rests in peace and his family can find comfort in the fact that he was both brilliant and a true genius in his role that spanned more than 50 years both with the amateurs (incl. U.S. Olympic squads) and the professionals….
MANNY was one of the main reasons I got into boxing over 30 years ago with his charge THOMAS HITMAN HEARNS I was lured into the noble art and captivated by this duo…..
As the leader of the conveyor belt of fighters at the KRONK GYMNASIUM Detroit, I got behind the whole team for more than 20 glorious years and they served as my inspiration and filled my formative years, letting me know that hard work and dedication would eventually lead to good rewards in life.
Thomas Hearns will always be my favourite fighter and standing side-by-side with him was Emanuel Steward… the two of them are synonymous with each other.
I am filled with great sadness and loss…..
I came on this page initially to debate Hearns and then we rambled on to many other situations in boxing, but time and again Manny’s name came up in my posts, lately with how he trained OLIVER McCALL to smash LENNOX LEWIS to bits and then conversely he trained LENNOX to engineer a win over Mccall…..
Manny’s legacy was not only to have trained some of my favourite fighters such as Hearns and JIMMY PAUL of the Kronk to world titles, but to then be the MR FIX IT MAN to resurrect careers such as Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko to world titles and to take the likes of BAD INTENTIONS Jermain Taylor to the forefront of the boxing table….
With each year we lose more and more of the greats of yesteryear whether it be GEORGIE BENTON,. BOUIE FISCHER, ANGELO DUNDEE, SIR HENRY COOPER, BAD BENNIE BRISCOE, and so many more…..
The sad fact is these greats and their knowledge, input, links with the past greats such as RAY ARCEL are lost forever…
Goodbye and goodnight Emanuel Steward, I am still shocked and saddened but I will remember you as one of the great coaches, who knew what boxing was about….
Keeping things simple, mastering the mind as the ultimate weapon and mastering teh fundamentals…..
Your like we will never see again…..
God bless you and may you Rest in Eternal Peace.Posted October 25, 2012 5:22 pm
This is such sad new to boxing fans. May he rest in peace, and all prayers to his family and friends.Posted October 25, 2012 5:21 pm
