Lazy Lob On: You have a good eye for boxing. You’re absolutely right… about Khan’s sketchy “defensive skilzzz” lol… he basically has none. Don’t know how to fight on the inside… and from the looks of it, shouldn’t try. BUT then again… it’s safer all the way out.. or sometimes all the way in. He has blazing speed… but he has no defensive instincts whatsoever. He literally runs around the ring, then starts swinging like a school girl (with world class speed) once you step at him. I honestly think he’s SO technically raw, that this is going to be a good fit… it has to be, there has to be room for that mass of raw talent… and technical illiteracy to improve.

“Khan is done deal, Molina will get famous.” – On my I doubt that list.

Wow… control ..his speed….? This is why I’ve long said he needed a new coach.. FFS… finally. etc etc… he needs to work a lot on his footwork also.. he doesn’t have very intelligent movements in the ring.

I wouldn’t call Khan a complainer… But you know what? It’s the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.. If things are going south you don’t just sit there and accept it—you’re going to be unhappy.. If Danny Garcial ever lost a fight he’d shake things up too.. All Hell would break loose because he’s not doing this to lose.

Hey tark you are correct, when he was an Olympian! an amateur! as a professional all he does is complain!

Khan has a tremendous work ethic.. He didn’t get to the Olympics and win professional World Championships by slacking off and spending his time online… He’s highly disciplined, and Virgil Hunter is just just going to make him much more so—or he’ll tell Khan, “I’m afraid I can’t help you… If you change your attitude I may reconsider, but you have to show me much more desire and heart than I’ve seen so far… I have no desire to be good, and neither does anyone else around here.”

Khan spends way too much time online rather than training harder, or relaxing and ignoring the hate speech. Khan does it to himself, he’s just not that great! sad could have been a different path if he had just accepted everything.

Khan shows no one any respect, he truly believes that he is the greatest boxer. Let mayweather dismantle him with ease!

honed yes but not taught, especially to a pure boxer which in essence is Khan.

many of the skills you mention, clinching, infighting etc. cant be taught, you either have them or you don’t, and Khan don’t, would take Jesus of Nazareth to perform a miracle to fix that bud,it’s not going to happen.

All good advice until he gets clocked on the chin a good one again and its 8,9,10 night night all over.

Molina has fought Welterweights, and as a Welterweight, so this article is just bunk…. And it’s not a matter of harnessing Khan’s speed or changing his style.. It’s a matter of rounding out his game by teaching him defense, especially inside defense which Khan is totally devoid of right now… clinching skills which Khan is also completely devoid of… infighting skills which Khan is also completely devoid of… It will take a long time to round out Khan’s game, and maybe Andre Ward can help him as much or more than Hunter … because AW’s an actual living, breathing, highly skilled and highly polished professional fighter who knows exactly what’s ailing Khan.. I hope they become best buds because that would benefit Khan unbelievably.

If Hunter try’s to turn Khan into a little Andre Ward then Khan’s career will be over very soon, Khan has not got the defensive skills or defensive instincts to fight that way. Khan’s idea of defense is to run backwards at speed and the minute he try’s to stand in the pocket and slow it all down he will get blitzed again. i personally see this ending in tears…
