KoolzOosthuizen manager is using excuses now for the fight. TARKI would like to see 3G marmalize Groves… I would have rather seen 3G fight Edwin Rodriguez than Oos.. However, this is good, but it takes a long time to get anything going when guys are having 3 month training camps and fighting twice or 3 times a year.. By the time you put yourself into position the target fight you were angling for is gone. Posted November 6, 2012 12:54 pmMick the MarmalizerAgreed: Groves vs Oosthuizen would be fantastic for the Commonwealth title(Not IBO) after George has cleaned Anderson & DeFail’s clock’s again! He wants Ward and is looking for a path to get at him. Posted November 6, 2012 4:09 amDJ DazI wonder what the WBA thinks of this move by Golovkin? They strip the real WBA Champion in Geale of his title and in the process will not receive any sanctioning fees (which would have been significant) from the fight with Mundine and now Golovkin takes a non-title fight at Super Middleweight (again no sanctioning fees for the WBA). Surely Golovkin’s team could have found someone the WBA would sanction to defend his interim title (I won’t consider Golovkin a legitimate champ until he fights and beats the linear WBA champ or Martinez. By the way, I am impressed with Golovkin and like his style). It seems to me that the WBA’s actions have not only damaged their reputation further, but also their pocket book! Tommy is not just gonna stand there and absorb. He’s gonna move and he’s gonna throw punches – probably a lot more punches than GGG and more accurate too. I wonder whether’s GGG’s face can take the amount of combinations that Marcus Johnson took, or will his mug start to look like hamburger after a few rounds. GGG by mid fight KO. Posted November 5, 2012 2:16 pmBeefBurgerNo way man. Tyson could bob, weave, duck, block, use body sway. He could box. GGG just walks in with his hands sometimes up and sometimes by his sides, and hurls bombs. No head movement, minimal defence. Wait until someone hits him. Posted November 5, 2012 1:57 pmBeefBurgerIt will be worse for GGG then. Every time he brings his hands down to hit the body, Tommy will hit him with the combos to the head. Man, you don’t stand square in front of Oosthuizen and expect not to get hit repeatedly. GGG will need to be cagey in order to stand a chance, but then he has a problem with height and reach. That’s why I can’t see any way for GGG to win this one. Tommy has fought guys much bigger than GGG and has never looked like being hurt. You wanna tell me Marcus Johnson and Rowland Bryant can’t bang? They caught Tommy flush loads of times and he never flinched. You can’t out-hustle him and you can’t KO him. A master boxer like Ward could counter him all night and make him reluctant to throw his combinations, but GGG is not a master boxer. He’s a one-dimensional slugger with a huge punch. A huge punch against middleweights. Forget it, man. This is gonna be a rude awakening for the legions of fans that GGG has acquired overnight by knocking out a little Japanese guy and a little Polish guy. Tommy is a big, mean unit. Get used to him. He ain’t going anywhere. He’s fighting on Saturday night at Emperor’s Palace here in Johannesburg, and I will be there to see him put the hurt on Fulgencio Zuniga. You all can say how guys are ducking him, but I don’t see it like that. You have guys hit much harder than Golovkin still they have fights. Lots of guys here on this site are talking like this guy is some sort of half-god or unhuman. I also thought Mike Tyson was unbeateble, cos he hit so hard. Golovkin is just hype just like Tyson was back then, with all my respect to Mike. Posted November 5, 2012 3:21 ampierreBig mistake, GGG. Tommy is way too big. He also has very fast, accurate hands, a great chin, and great lateral movement. You cheerleaders and fan-boys are gonna get the shock of your lives. The mere fact that you’re all in the first flushes of your romantic crush on GGG doesn’t mean that the laws of boxing are suddenly re-written. Here’s one that you may want to bear in mind: a good big man usually beats a good little man. Here’s another: a great chin almost always beats a great punch. Lol, you guys are a joke. What do you think Tommy’s going to be doing while GGG “wears him down with body blows”? Standing there and wondering what to do? Or nailing GGG 3 or 4 times to the head every time the little Russian drops his hands to throw a body punch? Oosthuizen by wide decision or by TKO on cuts. And I wanna say for the record that this is a pointless fight. I’m sick of all this masturbatory catchweight nonsense. Tommy should be beating up on guys his own size and working towards a fight with Froch some time in late 2013. And true… Geale’s pro achievements are better than Golovkin’s but you have to be objective when saying these things. Geale was seen as a low-risk opponent and so he was given opportunities (i.e. Sylvester and Sturm) that he’s capitalized on in awesome fashion. Those opportunities are just not being presented for Golovkin as he’s too high risk. sal.oTo Tark… you are right ,Golovkin fighting Abraham is probably not going to happen ,,but its just boxing talk ,,,just like a fantasy fight between Ward vs Mayweather ..it will never happen but we just want to imagine who would win …. Posted November 5, 2012 1:45 amBrendanGeale has achieved more than Golovkin in the pro ranks. Only a complete twat would think Golovkin was a better option than Mundine for Geale. Geale has been trying to get a rematch with Mundine for 3 years. It will be his biggest payday yet and will increase his following in Australia by a huge margin. The alternative is to fight Golovkin, a virtually unknown fighter who while a great up and comer has not achieved what Geale has, just todefend a title from a governing body with up to 3 champions at a single weight division for no money. I guess it’s obvious the guy who flew to Germany twice to do the impossible and what many great fighters are to scared to do is obviously running scared. There’s a great bloke fighting out of somewhere in Africa people are saying is the real thing. Don’t know his name but Geale should find him and fight him. Just to prove he isn’t running scared. Posted November 5, 2012 12:31 amUJelly?Awesome fight! Oosthuizen is no joke. There is a reason why Froch turned him down as an opponent for his “day off” fight. TARKsal.o….. The idea that Abraham would fight 3G is weird in the first place… AA has a minor title so he doesn’t fight major opponents… 3G is after Ward.. He’s not trying to compete with guys like Mehdi Bourdla for a shot at Abraham. In the end I think Tommy will get caught with a left hook that will knock him down. Probably at some point the ref will have to stop the fight will GGG clinically tears him apart with body and head shots either on the ropes or in the corner. Posted November 4, 2012 8:07 amMick the MarmalizerI gotta say I’m a bit baffled by this. Golovkin has just been handed the WBA 160Lb title on a silver platter & he’s decided to take on one of the most promising hounds in the World @ 168Lb. Thomas Oosthuizen looks to be the best South African pugilist since Brian Mitchell & I’d love to see him fight Commonwealth champion George Groves in the near future. GGG should stay at 160Lb & look for unification to prove who’s the #1 middleweight in the World before weight hopping. All said & done though it’s gonna be a fantastic contest! Posted November 4, 2012 7:06 amdick tigerSad indeed. A fighter comes to the States , fights on HBO and knocks out a fighter inside of 5rounds that has never been off of his feet and has a top 10 ranking in the middleweight division and he can’t get a decent fight made in the middleweight division. As far as I’m concerned I know what I myself will do. I will not watch any of the other middleweights fight, with the only exception being SM he has earned the right to pursue a big payday and at 37yrs of age I hope he gets it. Promoters put the “SPORT” back into the sport of boxing, you don’t have to make a killing on every fight. Its all about the money with you people. Geale needs the Mundine fight 2 boost his profile in his own country, boost his bank account and avenge his only loss. Mundine is the only boxer ever 2 have every fight he has been in on PPV. Mundine vs Green had over 30 thousand people watching the fight live, and over 5 million people buying it on PPV which is a qtr of that country. Some people r making Geale out 2 b a pussy? this is not the case. U dont go 2 Germany twice 4 tittle fights and win if ur a pussy. The Golovkin Geale/Mundine/Sergio/Quillin fight will happen Im sure of it. Another point I’ll make is where would the Golovkin Geale fight b? both guys have a little following in the states and Geale has way more cash….so yeah make the fight happen because it would b down under in Australia, than we will c who is ducking who and who the pussy is?
