The answer to why is VERY SIMPLE, because Floyd worships himself much more than money. He desires worship of others and having his name being spoken of
like deity more than anything else, and he is NOT willing to risk the possibility of loosing that, which is what would happen if he lost to Paq. He has the money now
and he has the worship now, in his mind it is better to keep both, instead of risking one just for something he already has too much of (money)

This has the look of being a very transparent attempt at selling a fight that should never be made.
I mean really, we’re not being told any actual reasons why Floyd jr. and 50 Cent had a falling out and for the reason of a grudge they are trying to shove down the throats of the paying audience a fight between a Junior Middleweight and a Featherweight.
The size difference is far too much for this fight to even be competative.
Floyd jr. knows this.
50 Cent knows this.
They want a gimme, an easy, no risk fight.
Gamboa wants a big payday no matter how bad the beating he gets.
Anybody who falls for this one and buys the pay per view is a complete idiot

The huge difference is the mindset, those fighters KNEW they were fighting that frequently, so they prolonged their peak by RECONDITIONING. There were times in Mike Tyson’s amateur and early career that he fought 5 times in a year.

Mosley was sidetracked by the tragedy in Haiti, so his mindset was derailed.
Know this – boxing, like any fighting art, is 80 % brains and 30% brawn (wink).

Pacquiao wiped out the welterweight division (Cotto, Margacheato, and Clottey). And I argued that beating the guy who cleaned out the division is not nearly as impressive as clearing out the division yourself.

A fighter trains once, hones his skills, drains away the rust caused by prolonged inactivity, sharpens his reflexes, builds his stamina, simulates the production of adrenalin, reaches a peak and devises a gameplan and that’s it. He cannot train twice with a just a time span of 4 months. That’s the meaning of “overtraining”.

As for Cotto, Li’l Floydie saw that Cotto was beatable after being battered by Pacquiao and Margarito. Mayweather is very clever. Once PacMan wins unfairly against Marquez yet again, just like the other 3 fights, he won’t have enough left in the tank, to face Floyd. The man is fast approaching 60 fights, and Mayweather, even at 35, is still fresh and has never taken a beating. Time is still on Floyd’s side, but Manny is a fading force, the Bradley fight confirmed his slow movement and reaction times. In 2013 this fight will definitely happen.

Gotta say your knowledge is kinda hazy. yeah Mosley did gas, but he was due to fight Berto in January, not in May that year. as for not taking anymore risks he wouldn’t have fought Cotto at 154- where he’s arguably a bigger puncher- when he fell ill the week of the fight. As for Pacquiao, he needsto concentrate on his fight with Marquez cos unless he wins by ko or it’s a complete whitewash, he won’t be in a position to negotiate with Mayweather as he haen’t looked good in a fight since he fought Margarito, and having to face an opponent for a 4th time cos you haven’t looked convincing against him the 3 previous times is not a good look.
As for 50cent, he knows less about boxing than you do and his promotion company will go the same way as his record label. He’ll end up having to fight on his own shows as those fighter will realise that he cannotget them the bigfightsthat he promised them. Form a proper opinion first instead of jumping on a bandwagon

Like I stated a couple of days ago on one of the other comment boards, I didn’t want to believe that one fighter was purposely avoiding the other…but Floyd’s comments in Vegas the week of the Miguel Cotto fight are irrefutable. It’s really hard to come up with any other conclusion.

I reported it when it happened on another site, and I couldn’t believe that Floyd had been baited into saying that by the usual band of boxing beat writers. But it’s frustrating when reporters who don’t know very much about the sport, wither the technical or business end of it, keep asking ridiculous questions that you just can’t answer with one sentence.

But reporters who are merely looking to make headlines and don’t really provide any insight do come across sounding antagonizing. It makes me cringe at press conferences and media days.

But, Floyd did say what he said and it’s irrefutable. It’s pretty obvious to anyone who isn’t up Floyd’s rear end that he is purposely standing in the way of the Pacquiao fight.

The real question is why…because Floyd doesn’t fear anyone. Why is the most relevant question now.

Biggest question of all here is why didn’t Pac take the guaranteed $40 mil? That’s the question that needs to be answered.
