Guys, I wouldn’t worry about Eddie becoming weight drained. He’s been preparing for this move for quite some time. If you look at his weight going into his fight with Adamek, he weighed in just over 200 pounds.

This is the right move for Eddie, and I will keep everyone informed when Main Events schedules his next fight.

Thanks for reading, guys!!

Eddie Chambers as a cruiserweight contender? Well that’s good becouse Chambers was a fine heavyweight contender but lacked the size to compete with the bigger heavyweights like Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko but he have prooven himself to be a worthy contender and as a cruiserweight I belive he can become a good world champion, but he should not rush himself down in weight or he will fall into the classic weight drain loss.

I worry about Chambers as a cuiser because I feel he might be a little weight drained. Eddie got himself into fantastic looking shape for the Dimitrenko eliminator and Wladimir title fight. However, even when he looks slim and muscled he’s always between 9 and 20 pounds over 200. Sometimes losing an extra 15 pounds can make a big difference to a fighter stamina wise. Eddie just might be in the difficult position of being too small naturally to compete with alot of HWs but being too acclimatized to a weight over 200 pounds to get down to 195. Just a possibility. There aren’t a multitude of success stories for boxers moving down in weight.

There’s no shame in losing to the best HW of the era (Wlad), it’s the same like Vitaly was called a bum after he lost to Lewis in highly disputed mach between those who look the “W” on paper and those who look the detailed fashion of the “W”. People often forget the relativlity and the usual “HW factor” – one punch can change it all and even if you’re super dominant champion on a bad day you indeed CAN lose to some complete or semi-complete bum (Tyson-Buster, Wlad-Purrity, Lewis-Rahman etc) and be ashamed to bits. Yeah OK, Chambers did lose to Adamek & Povetkin, but those were and still are the top dogs of the game as well so there’s not much shame eighter.

I reckong Chambers in CW would be a major force.

eddie chambers is “exactly ” what the cruiser weights needs ! he has the chemistry to break up the old rule of the slow, predictable, plodding, palooka types, we are use to seeing ! i think that ola afalabi would be a great test for chambers to make is debut against . a great test test and chemistry of styles. i expect thateddie in time beats them all , because of his ( boxing ) superiority, he takes the division over , and no one could beat him …..but himself ! excited , cant wait for it to start !!!!!

rod, go on youtube and watch the povetkin fight…povetkin took a beating.

I don’t think the idea is that Huck might win… People will come see the fight out of curiousity… They just want to see the talkative Huck get the Eddie Chambers treatment — and it will be fun to guess what round that will come in … Huck or Povetkin, line them up… It will take Price and Pulev a few more fights to polish up for real contentions of the title, so meanwhile Wladimir needs a few tune-ups to stay in the pink.

WHY THE HELL IS THIS TOPIC COMING UP AGAIN AND AGAIN. HUCK VS WLAD. IF WLAD FIGHTS HUCK HE SHOULD BE STRIPPED OF HIS TITLE. HUCK IS NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS PULEV, PRICE AND ABOUT 20 OTHER HEAVIES. HUCK CAN CLIMB THE HW LADDER AND FACE WLAD WHEN HE HAS BETTER SEVERAL NAMED HEAVIES. PEOPLE ARE SICK OF SEEING THE K BROS FIGHT BLOWN UP CRUISERS AND SHORT FAT GUYS. FINALLY WE SEE WLAD FIGHTING SOMEONE BIGGER. MUCH BETTER FIGHT THAN HUCK

of course Wlad vs Huck would be a mistmatc but I have to disagree with the people who say Huck is crazy to challenge Wlad. Fact is the best challengers refuse to fight Wlad, so if Huck is the best that is willing to go in there with Wlad, it’s a fight that could be made. Don’t lame Huck, blame Povetkin and co

chambers is really very underated boxer , he should have fought in the cruiser a long time ago …i like to see him fight hernandez and haye vs huck than the winers of these two fights to face eachother.. i wold like to see lebedev vs adamek also or lebedev vs haye

Eddie you should worry about your glass body and glass heart. You should just retire.

CW division is more competitive that the HW division

Cruiserweight division is more competitive that the HW division: Bill Patrice Jones is spot on. Chambers looked afraid to fight against Povetkin, and really afraid to fight against Peter. He seemed desperate not to get hit again against Wlad after round 2. The CW division has got alot of tough quite fast bangers. Sorry but I cant see Chambers beating guys like Huck/Lebedev. Or former CW champs like Mormeck Haye or cunningham. Eddie has mde his HW career by being alot slicker than lots of the bigboys.

Good luk at cruiser Mr Chambers!

haye, adamek, mormeck, now cunningham going up, byrd, chambers going down. well, we shall see…. :)

eddie will rule the CW division if the belt holders dont duck him, he has more skill than the whole division combined.

Chambers put it all together in his Dimitrenko fight… He floored the giant with one of the sweetest step-in left hooks I’ve ever seen.. He had a severely injured left shoulder in his Adamek fight and could only use his right hand to punch with… John Scully, who was commentating for the fight, gave the fight to Chambers by a wide margin anyway… Chambers beats Huck if he’s physically 100%.

This is the first I’ve heard of Chambers moving back to cruiserweight, and I really like this, as he weighed only 202 pounds vs Adamek in his last fight, and thus might as well drop down into a division with several potential top fights (although they’d all be in Germany), and in which he wouldn’t be at such a physical disadvantage. Here’s hoping for a cruiserweight title for Eddie Chambers!!!

Chambers is also nothing special…doubt he will be a force in the CW division when many are as fast and maybe faster than ‘fast eddie’….

Posted November 5, 2012 10:21 pm

varnish

Chambers is very good, but I think he should remain at heavyweight. He was never a puncher – speed and skills are his strengths and he will not have those advantages at cruiser. Also, he looks to me like he will have trouble needing to make weight. He is a small, fast heavyweight who has only lost to top guys like Klitschko, Adamek, Povetkin.

I would love to see Chambers vs. Huck.

Chambers would probably beat Marco ‘What the’ Huck, who’s always been an overachiever. Hope we get to see that happen soon, but Eddie baby has to go into the Loewen’s Den in Germany to get the belt.

I agree with Mr. Chambers.

“top 5 heavy when he beat Dimitrenko, which was a very fine performance btw.” – Yeah Chambers not only outboxed him, he straight up manhandled Dimitrenko. That’s his career best performance without a doubt. It’ll be interesting to see how he does at cruiser, where he should’ve been all along IMO.

Chambers is exactly correct. Huck’s people spent all that effort calling out Wlad and sending out BS offers when he was hanging onto his own title by a thread. Stay at cruiserweight, train hard, focus on defending it one bout at a time. The end.

Eddie knows his stuff and as far I know he was a top 5 heavy when he beat Dimitrenko, which was a very fine performance btw.

yep Eddie, that’s it. Spot on. Eddie vs Huck would surely be fun to watch. I think Eddie would win.

Good logic by Fast Eddie, finally. I always thought he’d not be enough to be a true HW champ. He’s extremely solid boxer and would probably make it into the top 10 of HWs which he already did and proved before the title shot with Wlad but he just doesn’t have that skull crushing power to earn respect from todays top-dog superheavys. He could outbox and outsmart most of the lower ranked contenders, but doesn’t possess enough that superheavy physical rawness to crack through the top-5 of HW who’re getting bigger and stronger as time goes on (Pulev, Wilder, Price, Fury etc coming up), IMHO at least. .

Cruiserweight is where his odds are vastly better right now, especially seeing how much boxing basics (which Champers has polished almost to perfection) is lacking in CW right now – he could be a major force there and a probable owner of one of the major belts. Ditto for Adamek.

I’d encourage Eddie to drop down to CW and do some SERIOUS work along with the usual business.
