Yeah :-) Some good news allright. I would love to see a hungry Bernard Hopkins back in the ring for another title fight before a career end. Hopkins will turn 48 in January, but he have proven himself from his last fight that he is far from done as a top fighter and his ring skills are superior to most younger fighters out there and Nathan Cleverly is young and strong but not yeath that expearenced. I hope that fight will be made next year and that Bernard Hopkins is hungry to win some more.

I could care less about this fight being made. It is a no win fight for Cleverly. If he wins he beat an old man. If he loses he lost to an old man. This fight does nothing for Cleverly. Hopkins is way past his best.

Whiteyfiveo: True Boxing fans want true fights! I’m sure GBP’s & Frank Warren want Clev/Bhop as Joe Soap in the street don’t know who’s a genuine fighter & who’s a fossil looking for a final payday (No disrespect, but Popkin’s has had his day). The promoters are only interested in £’s & $’s & this is why our sport is in such a mess. How are we to ever find out who’s #1 @ any division if the sport’s not to progress?

It’s true Shumenov has offered Cleverley a fight with a 50% split on nuetral ground (LA) & I personally would rather see that happen then Clev vs Popkins. I think we’re all in agreement here that unification has to be the #1 goal as things are in total confusion @ 175Lb. In an Ideal World Clev fights shumenov, while Dawson & Cloud takes on with the winners fighting each other. At least that way we know who is actually the #1 light heavyweight in the World & challengers such as Pascal & Bellew will have a genuine target to aim at. Problem is the WBA will create a regular, Interim, Intercontinental & International title, while the WBC throws in a Silver & Diamond belt & the WBO & IBF + the IBO/WBU/WBF ETC throw in anything they can think of! “Let’s get back to basics”!

It makes great business sense! American fans and revenue is based off tv.. Thats where us fans follow the sport, and the the money is brought in by HBO/Showtime. We all know venues are empty most fights. Go Ero fill those Stadiums ( OScars pockets with cash) and usa still gonna see it on Showtime.. More fans see it live, more $$ its a win win!! I do wonder if Showtime/HBO charges or pays less when they have to travel over seas? Plus tiime dif is a pain!

Cleverly could unify against Shumenov and instead fights old Hopkins. Supposedly the Shumenov camp has offered the fight to Cleverly for a year now. Cleverly is just a joke.

Hops is getting desperate in his old age. Just a few years ago, when he was Light heavy champ there’s no way he’d have left the USA, even to take on the undisputed super middle champ Calzaghe…yet now he’s willing to travel to go to the UK to take on Clev for his WBO belt…oh how the tables have turned.
