Anonymous, Lara also ran for much of the first half of the fight. It was clear he was concerned about getting clocked by Vanes. People always seems to remember most what happened last. Lara might have been more effective in the later rounds, but he was by no means beating Martirosyan. Besides that, if the fight would have continued who’s to say that Martirosyan wouldn’t have made further adjustments and had Lara on his bicycle again. All it would have taken was one good solid punch.

REALTALK

Both fighters did not do there job! LARA ran in the start but then started to come on and MARTIROSYAN showed what I thought all along he is not that good! None of them will give the red man a fight! Both of them need to leave there trainer! Roach is washed up and Shield ( it pains me to say this because I think he is the man) is looking lost in there!

Lara was SCARED!! I mean, he really was, I was surprised at how he was able to adjust and begin landing some nice hard shots after the first 5 rounds….but no doubt was he deathly afraid of Martirosyan’s punches in the beginning, I didn’t see the punch that inflicted the fear, but it was there, for sure!

Big Al

Just wondering how Lara thought he was going to win the fight by literally giving up the first 5 rounds by backpedaling and defending. No offense whatsoever. Pernell Whitaker, he ain’t.

Lara by no means showed to be a Mad Dog. He fought cautiously and was content with countering Vanes. Lara didn’t display any real power against a very determined Vanes. Vanes was pushing the fight and was the aggrssor but as i mentioned Lara was tagging him more and more often than the early rounds. Lara did well handling the pressure that Vanes put on I just dont see Lara out smarting Canelo. Canelo is a much better thinker in the ring, he takes his time when needed and applys the pressure when required. I just dont see Either Lara or Vanes being able to out muscle Canelo.

Not sure what fight Hidalgo was watching but Lara had the last 4 rounds Vanes was starting to lose the fight he lucked out and escaped with a draw. If I’m Vanes i chalk this one up as a good experience but as for me it’s not a fight i care to see again.

i would beat my house on carlos molina beating and or making a fool out of canelo i really cant see canelo having hie way with either lara or martrosyan based on his poor record of beating up welterweights only time will tell fingers crossed ……..

Lara is a junior Bernard Hopkins. Pulls a dirty trick and blames the other guy for it.

“Lara was on his way to WINNING by brutal UD or late stoppage. Vanes was beginning to get TAGGED with the left with MUCH regularity” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Yeah, right. Get a load of this guy!

Lara is ot going to win fights with his punch out put and how he moves so much. Anytime Vanes approached Lara scooted back and circled around the ring.

Facts

2 very solid top 5 jr middlweights.I thought Lara was winning by 2,Vanes came out early trying to set the tempo got a couple good shots in here & there but Lara the more experienced boxer wouldn’t let him.Had vanes thrown more combos he would’ve made it a lot more interesting. As for lara he doesn’t posses that power a jr middleweight he should have. He’s a great counter & accurate puncher but he has break you down first which is fine. All these idiots claiming Lara is a dirty fighter yet he never gets deducted a point & is no where near flopkins or ward in that department.Vanes also got late hits in don’t be hypocrites, you’re asking 2 guys that have a grudge against each other to calm down during a fight haha idiots. Some think Lara won some vanes fine but to think paper champ canelo would have his way vs 2 legit & hungry middleweight are fooling yourself.Canelo fighting 147lb hatton,140lb jossesito at 154lb lol not to forget old pops in baldomir, mosely, cintron,& rhodes who just reitred half of those old guys are as well.Canela resume is a joke.I find it funny how he goes after p4p Martinez based on what happened the last minute & his multiple injuries canela is a clown just like his blind fans.

“Bummer about your SKILLS theory, huh?”-Nope. The FACT remains that the most SKILLED man WINS most Fights…. Last night didn’t tip the scale in any other factors favor. The most SKILLED man still WINS about 95% of the time. That’s why MY record remains GREAT.

“Btw Braggadamus you FOOL, I’ll say it again! YOU LOST! TWICE!”-And you can SAY it a million MORE times but your statement will remain FALSE. I did NOT pick the LOSER in Lara-Martirosyan SO I did not LOSE. I am the BEST at picking the WINNER. Also Lara was ROBBED. I’m SO GREAT that you have to ROB ME from Victory. The DUNCE of a Judge judged the last round as a DRAW when Lara landed a punch and Martirosyan landed NOTHING. Lara CLEARLY WON the last round thus WINNING the Fight. But since Judge Roth and Moretti are HOUSE Judges for Top Rank ONE of them had to do the dirty work……Moreno was also ROBBED of a DQ WIN just as I predicted……I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born and robbing ME won’t change it.

“You were WRONG on the Lara/Martirosyan..”-YET I’m SO GREAT that I didn’t pick the LOSER. I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!!!!…..at picking the WINNER.

Fight Aficionado

The biggest winner was Canelo and GBP. Now all the pressure on Canelo making his mandatory defense – if there was any – is gone. LOL at Lara going mad dog at the weigh in. Tough guy act followed by running. Not impressed.

Posted November 11, 2012 6:54 pm

SREDMOND

Neither guy impressed me last night and the idea that Lara is a lock to beat Canelo does not wash in my eyes… Alvarez his tight and compact withi his shots and Lara was moving around WAY too much

Posted November 11, 2012 4:53 pm

te tumbo

like i figured. neither of these guys are world-beaters and they proved it against each other. Lara is predictably living down to the Cuban “mystique” and neither of these guys figure to give Canelo much of a problem, which should place them squarely in Canelo’s crosshairs, according to Canelo’s haters. i hope they’re right because i would love to watch Canelo pummel Lara into submission and read Lara’s previous boosters post that he proved nothing by defeating a “bum” like Lara (lol).

PEEJ

I thought Vanes won the fight. Lara doesn’t throw enough for me. He gives the impression that he is running and not boxing. Yes when he threw he landed but its easy to land when you don’t throw many punches cause your opponent isn’t expecting a punch to come. Lara is not close to the best and Canelo would tear Lara up in my opinion

Posted November 11, 2012 2:34 pm

srminimo

I couldn’t find 2 rounds to give to Martirosyan. Yeah he was moving forward, but he landed maybe 3 clear shots the whole fight. Lara does it to himself though, he was starting to open up, but he needed to do it earlier.

Ronnie Shields is overrated he is terrible. Lara has gotten worse under his guidence Mike Lee is terrible, Cintron lossed more and more with him. His corner advice is horrible to.

Tomato Can

Martirosayn/Lara was pretty much a draw. Lara wasn’t impressive, but neither was the bigger Martirosayn.

Posted November 11, 2012 12:11 pm

Hidalgo

I thought both men effectively negated each other. “Draw” was a fair call. Lara is a slick boxer but he sure didn’t look impressive for nine rounds. Besides that, Martirosyan controlled the tempo of the fight, and he was the aggressor. I said Lara was over-rated and he is. Btw Braggadamus you FOOL, I’ll say it again! YOU LOST! TWICE! Bummer about your SKILLS theory, huh? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The PUTZ loses TWO more!

These the chumps you guys have been screaming about Canelo needing to fight!….hahahahah..these suckas wont last 5 rds with Canelo.

Talk about dirty fighters, How about the reincarnation of Andrew Golota (Abner Mares obviously) guy throws a million low punches, he throw literal elbows, kidney shots…late kidney shots… completely with purpose. Guys a freak. wtf. Lara looked the best tonight out of all the talent that was to be seen. He was really starting to utterly outclass Vanes. No, I didn’t see anything to make me assume Canelo can beat him. To the contrary. Luckily he won’t have to worry about that because one of the judges decided to purposely make it a draw to be cool.

neither fighter didn impress me much canelo would of beat both that night i think carlos molina would of gave both of them hell

Lara was being such a dirty piece of s that he intentionally headbutted his way out of a possible win. He was behind in my scorecard, though. Lara just has one of the stinkiest styles ever; makes for bad watching.

Mares seems too strong, too consistent… but something tells me that….

Posted November 11, 2012 12:57 am

Mares is extremely dirty, lol… he does it on purpose. They say it’s because his head gets pulled down, but he actually does it on purpose with that as an excuse.

Q

Poor lara… He was outclassing Vanes those last rounds, and hit him nearly twice the times. That judge decided to make it a draw rather than give the fight to anyone. Well… Congratulations Canelo. You don’t have to face those problems.

Mikey needs to work on his long range body shots. He only throws body shots when he is in close range. He will need need to be shooting on all pistons against Salido.
Go Mikey, Go!
