Boxtradamus

“I’ve heard you wrong quite a few times now and last night was just another one”-Nope. I was 100% on Saturday. Agree with ME on MY predictions and YOU will be 100% TOO. I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!!

Boxtradamus

“Realtalk-you are a liar dude-cause I was asking you how would Berto win this fight and you never answered”-Ummmmm that’s probably because I predicted Guerrero to WIN on points.

Posted November 26, 2012 3:04 pm

Boxtradamus

“You need to stop making picks cause your not that good at them”-CORRECT. I’m not that GOOD. I’m GREAT.

Posted November 26, 2012 3:03 pm

Boxtradamus

“you should spend less time trying to impress a group of men”-I can’t spend any LESS time than zero. I just tell the TRUTH and state the FACTS about Boxing. And I also pick the WINNER. I enjoy doing those things and Impressing anyone is no factor in that. I will continue to DO it whether anyone is impressed or not.

Posted November 26, 2012 3:02 pm

Boxtradamus

“You picked Berto to beat Guerrero you got damn liar”-I predicted that Guerrero would WIN on points you NON reading dummy.

it alot of fighters who spar with world class fighters dnt mean much in a real fight but thurman is the real deal we know he can dish it out but we dnt know if he can take it yet he havent fought a puncher yet a strong fighter but if thurman can take it then he going to going to get one of those belts soon he got the skills and power

Thurman is a dangerous fighter got a great trainer spared with winky wright at a young age i think he is ready for anyone even canelo

Those big Berto shots didn’t seem to bother Guerrero one bit, he took them like the tough Mexican he is but at the same time he should have (when Berto ‘s eyes were closed)been peppering Berto from the outside. Would have probably resulted in a KO.

keith thurman and javier fortuna and jesse magdaleno three exciting fighters thet been getting nothing but knockouts lately all three got a bright future everytime you seen them fight dnt blink

Right… Everyone knows Boxtra picked Berto.. Just like he picked Bute to beat Froch.

Posted November 25, 2012 4:52 pm

Fight Aficionado

Thurman is the kind of boxer we need to see more of. A natural puncher with lots of aggression. Nothing like watching KO artists ply their trade.

Posted November 25, 2012 3:59 pm

It’s Me, Ernie

Berto took those late shots from an exhausted fighter. He tasted the canvas when those shots came from a fresher Guerrero.

Posted November 25, 2012 12:54 pm

old guy

First, Berto has a good chin. He took 5 straight flush shots on the face at the end of the 12th and walked away. Second, Berto was the one holding in the clinches, mostly holding Guerrero’s arms. Third, the gods of boxing have to decide whether punching on the back of the head is allowable or not. I can live with either way, but it comes into question every time and turns subjective.

Thurman vs Kirkland, that’s a fight.

Boxtradamus-I hope and pray your not 21 or older and your just some YOUNG TEEN on here. You really go out your way to impress other men huh lol-why don’t you focus more on some famale dud-I bet females hate talking to you playa. Who wants to be around someone who thinks their right even when their wrong all the time. You need to stop making picks cause your not that good at them-I’ve heard you wrong quite a few times now and last night was just another one nut your not man enough to admit it. No one is right all the time-well respected boxing know hows are wrong-if you were perfect as you claim then someone would cut you a check for your services but your just a liar dude-you picked Berto to win with confidence and you know it and now you wanna switch it up-act ur age instead of your shoe size

Posted November 25, 2012 10:17 am

Boxtradamus-your just so sad dude. You have quite a few people on here that know you said Berto would win this fight and now you go and be a sunday morning quarterback-you need to act your age instead of your shoe size for once in your life

I’d like to see Thurman come over to Europe or the UK for a couple of fights. How about matching him with Rabchenko?

SREDMOND

Guys think all fights are going to be virtuoso moments, let’s be real the ones we remember Ali/Frazier, Gatti/Ward,Corralles/Castillo, Lewis/Klits,Bowe Holyfield were battles where guys had to dig deep and fight… We will see nights where BOTH Berto and Guerrero are able to look smooth, last night called for balls and both guys showed them… The Ghosts were just Bigger in contradiction to what I had predicted.. Leonard’s greatest night with Hearns took a gut check to win, this is a combat sport and every night is not gonna be pretty…

Posted November 25, 2012 5:41 am

Hey Rob, your hating gets worse every time. Maybe you forgot to tell Berto those shots were just slaps. Cause he got beat the hell up, from round 1-12. By a blown up feather. Keep up the hate, its pathetic.

TARK

This was a boxing match for one round… And Robert won the boxing match… Then it became a foul fest.. A pushing, shoving, grabbing, rabbit punching, infighting, head bonking, shouldering, elbowing, fight that Robert made sure took place in a phone booth.

And he won that match too… His chin and his will to win actually won the fight. He was going to win or die trying.. No middle ground.. He’s not a real good boxer, and he could give a rip what he looks like after a fight. His last fight was a sloppy affair as well. Not a boxing match either … and he did much the same against a brawler type of guy.

guerrero fought a great fight!!! great respect to both fighters!!! max kellerman is such a homer if he could he would tell us that zab judah is the greatest fighter ever why cuz he is from brooklyn,,, white announcers and writers have such a difficult time giving mexican american fighters just do! Max first question gave berto such a cop out yet he never brought up the drugs yet a clean fighter like guerrero gets put on the spot!!! ha ha max and al bernstein need to have dinner and a drink together cuz they don’t understand that chin and heart come before anything else…. when did they put hopkins, trinidad, or other fighters on the spot? Ghost won a fight that we thought was a 50/50 fight thank you both for giving us a great fight!!! i am with Kenny adams when he told al bernstein to stf up cuz he could barely give Moreno 3 rounds in the fight 3 weejs ago!!!! sorry but these white announcers and writers new found moral judgement for a sport we call boxing is laughable… ghost hurt berto at least 5 or 6 times yet berto stung guerrero maybe once so who won and deserves credit!!! Haymon was giving Kellerman the questions in his earpiece he rules HBO!!! Mayweather is not fighting the ghost after this fight too long and too good a chin he can take him to the ropes and has good stamina not like de la hoya. That would be the proper game plan against mayweather jab and that looping left around the shoulder roll…. Famous last words from birmingham every round “you holding too much”!! to Berto ha ha!! i guess al haymon taking all his fighters to showtime has rattled hbo and made the announcers kiss some ass!!!!!

style wise him and cotto would make for a great fight but cotto aint no quintana plus cotto crush quintana years ago before keith did i aint saying keith dnt got a chance but that a big step up tho but first we got to see how cotto looked against trout a fight that he can lose

Posted November 25, 2012 2:51 am

maybe cause guerrero bulk up to much for this fight he did looked slow when he was at lightweight he was more quicker and and elusive seem like when he moved to welterweight he lost all that i guess bulking up help him in this fight he was able to push berto around and take a good punch

Posted November 25, 2012 2:45 am

Adrian

I know Thurman would be probably better of if get a few more fights before cotto or mayweather but I defenetley see him beating cotto even right now , the guy has clearly a lot of experience for his young age when it comes to boxing in general, well he showed us tonight by not respecting and completely destroying a proven fmr. Champion!

Love-the-Sport

I had mixed feelings about this fight. Guerrero showed a good chin, good heart — but no real boxing skill. I have seen him box before and show technical ability. I have seen him box on the inside and outside, mix-up his punches, throw good combinations. We didn’t see any of that tonight. Guerrero had Berto hurt in round 1 and round 2. He mixed up his attack, fought inside and outside, take angles, and throw combinations to both the body and the head, and then try to catch Berto on the chin again. He probably would have ended the fight by round 5 or round 6. Instead, he made the fight much harder. He showed no movement and he took huge uppercuts. I had the fight 6 rounds to 6 rounds so that Guerrero wins 114-112 because of the knockdowns. It was an impressive display of heart by both fighters — but not much boxing skill.

thurman is good but he aint ready for no mayweather or cotto just yet it alot of other fights out there for him thurman and angulo would be a fun fight or gabriel rosado depends if thurman stay at 154 or not i think thurman will beat paulie malinaggi the sky is the limit for him tho

why was berto try to use that mayweather defense it didn workout for him he copy a page out of adrien broner and it backfired on him got to have your own style

If i were Floyd i would take the fight with Gurrero and knock him out. Great payday for Both fighters

Guerrero is Taylor made for mayweather , he is too slow for mayweather he will lose a wide ud..I would like to see Thurman fight cotto though or even against mayweather … I am really really impressed with thurman’s boxing skills!

Sredmond you are right , and also Berto really can’t take a Punch at all.. His biggest problem is his “jeff lacy or tomy morison syndrome” that I call it ,the syndrome is they try to look fast and powerful for the fans and they forget that don’t brings you victorys!

i was wrong in picking quintana to beat thurman but i was right in picking guerrero to beat berto tho thurman was just to strong and hit to hard for quintana the power is real guerrero fought the right fight against berto and won the better man won no excuses it was a great fight tho both guys technique was sloppy but they made up with heart and grit that made for a exciting fight

Posted November 25, 2012 1:32 am

Tough fights happen, if you are gonna be great you will have to dig deep… Both Berto and Guerrero showed serious guts and determination… But Bertos flaws were on display tonight…

Posted November 25, 2012 1:29 am

I never thought the Ghost would be strong enough, but hats off!! Bertolucci has guts be I realize that he has NO legs to complement his fast hands and good power… He is stationary and not fluid or able to deal with angles… Loved the way that Guerrero called him out on the excuses… Great fight!!

Silly Flomos

Informer is a silly Flomo that is just mad that his hero is a boring a-hole that will never be involved in a fight that is as exciting as this. HBO talked it up for a reason – because it was a good fight.

Posted November 25, 2012 1:22 am

Informer

Maybe so Koolz. But Thurman has an excuse. He is young and his only true experience was Quintanna. I like his approach to boxing.

I have no friends. I watch the fights alone and then come here for attention. I picked Berto BTW. I just changed it after.

HBO had to talk up this as a fight of the year candidate, but the skill level was just too low. HBO is trying to hype up one of these fighters to get a PPV with PBF. Floyd will eagerly fight either because it won’t be the least bit competitive. They boasted about Berto’s stamina! He had no stamina. If you don’t throw any punches, you don’t exert any energy. He was just hanging on. He would throw a punch and grab. Throw some flashy uppercuts an land on a guy who could not avoid any punch either. The only thing that saved ghost was that Berto was too lazy to throw anything other than “keep him off me” punches. I give ghost a grade of C and Berto a grade of F+. The + is because he did not “officially” quit in the ring.

That was one entertaining but ugly fight. The ref did suck but Guerrero mugged and outworked Berto all night. Will Robert get Mayweather hmmm I am not sure he brings enough to the table to be honest.

Boxtradamus

Berto is more flatfooted than a DUCK billed PLATYPUS. He CAN be out Boxed and Guerrero can DO it. Size, Power, and Speed have been overcome before and they will be overcome again….It doesn’t matter what Division you Fight in. What matters is are you BETTER than the guy that you’re facing.

Very messy fight. I am shocked Guerrero manhandled Berto who was muscle bound and practically lifted Berto off his feet in one of the early rounds. I’ll be the first to admit I thought this was going to be a short night for Berto because I thought Guerrero would not be strong enough to tangle with Berto. Boy was I wrong. Mayweather will not even let Guerrero come close to this kind of fight.

Hate to be a spoiler, but Neither Berto nor Guerrerro are impressive. Thurman could have beaten Quintanna, Gurerrero and Berto consecutively tonight. Berto has no chin. He can’t move out of any punch. Guerrerro can’t move out of the way of any punch. Please do not allow Floyd to fight either of these guys.
