I’d like to see Thurman vs Maidana or Thurman vs Matheysa or Thurman vs Angulo or Thurman vs Kirkland or Thurman vs Alvarez

I’m sorry but after seeing Guerrero fight Berto, I’m not interested in seeing another dirty street brawl. I can go to the local bar for that.

While I agree that Thurman vs Guerrero would be a great fight… I don’t blame Guerrero for calling out Floyd. Apparently it’s working and Floyd is interested! Robert will lose making more money than he has his entire career and can happily retire saying he lost to the best. It’s not what the fans want and I won’t buy the PPV, but still… I don’t blame Floyd or Robert. It’s not Floyd’s fault it’ll be an easy fight. Thurman would be tough for Robert too. This guy looks good. He was open coming in, but that might be because he wasn’t threatened… I’d like to see Thurman against someone who could take advantage of those kind of openings and see how good the kid really is.

VINMAN are you ok? Thurman needs help on his skills!

guerrero has fought enough fights that he doesn’t have to prove himself, so if he can get a fight with Floyd it’s his right….Thurman on the other hand is not known by the casual fan and needs a few exposure fights…..

Thurman has got the goods – I would like to see him in there with Saul Alvarez. He’s (Keith) big guy, I don’t think Guerrero would do well.

Lets talk boxing. Did you enjoy Guerrero vs. Berto? I did . It was a great competitive fight. Lets pay this guys the money they deserved for great fights like this and forget about Floyd. We don’t need tosee Floyd to have great fight

guerrero beat a much tougher guy in berto then thruman did in beating 36 yr old guintanna. I still belive thurman reaching and being off balance is going to show up when he gets in with better fighters

If I recall correctly this was the guy Marcos Maidana ducked.

Keith Thurman who??? Come on he beat Carlos Quintanilla, Carlos is extremely inconsistant. One day he beats the crap out of a Champion then the next fight he completely crumbles. I dont see how or why anyone would be ready to ordain Thurman. There are other worthy opponenets that have put in their dues.

Keith who???
Why don’t he fight Berto first or Aydin, let’s see what he got!

Posted November 27, 2012 2:29 am

Thurman is a over confident primadona. Fight someone in there prime and real good and lets see what happens

LikeISeeIt

Thurman shows promise and the Quintana win is a good one. But Quintana is not particularly durable and he’s been stopped several times already. Therefore, Thurman needs to continue proving himself. Guerrero doesn’t need Thurman.

so what are your thoughts on this article PEEJ ………?

Guerrero has never won the championship in any division. He has only won titles

Guerrero vs Timothy Bradley! I would love to see Ghost beat the crap out of Tim Whiner Bradley! Another wheel chair for time yea!

Don’t let Mayweather off the hook until he fights Pacman.

THANK YOU, that’s exactly what I was thinking. It’s like whatever this man does isn’t good enough! He moves up two weight classes, a 14-month layoff, after a left rotator cuff surgery to face a brutal opponent in both AYDIN and BERTO and wins the Championship!!

What more do you want? And why is it that Guerrero needs to “Get by Thurman” when its Thurman who should need to get by Guerrero before getting in line to fight Mayweather!

First of all, Berto lost to the better fighter period. Berto struggled since stepped up to anyone who was a B level fighter–remember Collazo? Also, Thurman will beat Guerrerro easily if they fought. I think the Guerrerro Floyd fight is most likely going to happen. HBO is hyping up the Ghost and Floyd likes nothing better than fighting no risk fighters with no skill for a easy win. When HBO hypes them up then Floyd can claim he’s fighing the best and people will be dumb enough to pay to watch it.

Yeah I cant believe that after getting robbed of the Kirkland fight, Molina hasnt been able to get a big fight. More politics I guess. I mean, if the system Cant KO them one way, they’ll do it another

Nobody wants to fight Thurman he will destroy the ghost

IF Guerrero wants a Mayweather Fight he should DO what Pacquiao didn’t DO and that’s get the nod vs. Tim Bradley.

Didn’t stop the Jr/Marquez fight. Also going from fighting a former title holder to an up & comer is a step backwards for Guerrero. Berto looked like Berto. Maybe a little rust but I wouldn’t say he was 50%. Guerrero took him out of his comfort zone early. Not to mention Berto was attempting to use a new style against an experienced title holder.

“Robert Guerrero should prove himself . . .” Again? i guess this “writer” won’t believe Guerrero is real until he finally does lose v. a presumably bigger, stronger, and faster opponent. i’ve got a better idea. why doesn’t Thurman prove that he can defeat a decent and natural middleweight instead of welter retreads? that might prove that Thurman himself belongs among the Tested-and-Proven like Robert Guerrero.

Posted November 26, 2012 5:30 pm

JSL

Thurman looked really impressive and could be a future star. But I don’t think he is quite there just yet. Obviously Guerrero wants the Mayweather fight the most especially since he’ll get the highest payday of his career. But if that doesn’t happen I could see him taking on someone like Timothy Bradley.

Thurman needs more experience

Posted November 26, 2012 5:20 pm

Boxtradamus

Since Guerrero is restricted to fighting Golden Boy Fighters then I guess he’d have to face Ortiz or Josesito Lopez next..

Posted November 26, 2012 5:18 pm

liljp361

I think you mean its keith thurman who needs to prove himself against another fighter

Posted November 26, 2012 5:18 pm

maracho

If the Ghost was Thurman’s size and strength, he’d probably beat Mayweather

Posted November 26, 2012 5:17 pm

Boxtradamus

The next logical opponent for Guerrero is Timothy Bradley NOT Keith Thurman. But the Fight will never happen because of the Top Rank-Golden Boy Beef. Too bad. Female behaving promoters are ruining the Sport by not making the logical Fights just because their tender “feelings” were hurt.

RNS ..you have a good point ..only I would throw Angulo’s name in the mix as well…besides, both Kirkland and Angulo need to prove themselves again.

Most retarded article I’ve ever read.. I thought it was a joke at first but then I checked the calendar and saw it’s not April yet.

how the hell would he figure this dude to be his next opponent to robert in my mind he already prove he is capable of giveing mayweather or pac a fight but idk if he is capable of winning but then again marquez is no joke!!! either so pac needs to bring his A game to anyways i saw the dude from clearwater, fights to sloppy stalls in between punches and it takes him to long to load up needs more fixing to compete in the world stage.

What a fantastic Idea, Guerrero should prove himself against a junior middle weight because he hasn’t proven anything at Welter weight. I have another good one, Let’s have Thurman prove himself against Kid Chocolate for a shot at Canelo. This writer makes perfect sense doesn’t he? Have fighters prove themselves against tough, strong punchers at a weight class above the weight class they compete in so they can prove themselves. You dropped the ball Bill!

Posted November 26, 2012 4:42 pm

RNS

Thurman Vs Kirkland and the winner gets a shot at Alvarez now that makes more sense to me.

Posted November 26, 2012 4:42 pm

RNS

What does Guerrero have to prove? how many titles has Thurman won? and at how many weights? with respect Thurman has one decent result on his record and he got that Saturday night. Thurman is not proven so even if Guerrero beat him how does that qualify Guerrero to step in the ring with Mayweather? If you just want to see Guerrero Vs Thurman then fine but to say Guerrero needs to prove himself against an unproven fighter is idiotic.

Maybe thurman should fight someone his own size?
