You say Guerrero has no power, he’s not a knock out artist but did you see Berto’s face, well he wasn’t hitting him with cotton balls those were hard punches. It’s easy to say a fighter doesn’t have any punching power when your not the one getting hit. Berto was dropped twice and it didn’t happen because Guerrero couldn’t punch. Will he beat Floyd “NO” that goes without saying but we do know anything can happen in the sport of boxing.

MAYWEATHER IS A GOOD INFIGHTER AND i DONT BELIVE INFIGHTING IS THE WAY TO BEAT FLOYD . BUT IF FLOYD AND PAC CANT GET TOGETHER WHY NOT GIVE GUERRERO A SHOT AND A PAYDAY HE COMES TO FIGHT

stupid loser

@Boxtradamus I agree, not sure how beating a compromised Berto all the sudden allows you to be worthy to fight Mayweather?

Berto was a great win but its not like Guerrero dominated top level competition. No dis-respect Guerrero, he is a hard working fighter, but come on. The boxing world deserves a better match-up.

“Well you must’ve MISSED Mares vs. Moreno.” Do you mean Mares vs. Agbeko I? That was the fight in which Mares established himself as the low-blow king.

WRONG…. This is the fight Mayweather wants.. Trust me.. He’s very clever at picking the right opponents at the right times. The best ever.

Leonard, Foreman, and De La Hoya were excellent at picking who they wanted to fight when they wanted to fight them — but Floyd is better.

I dont think mayweather wants to fight guerrero. Not because he cant beat guerrero but the way mayweather will have to fight guerrero . In the trenches mayweather is a good inside fighter who knows how to hold use his elbows to create space he gets his head lower then opponnetand and punches .All goodinfighters do this Mayweather bends the rules. Guerrero smashes and breaks the rules he holds and hits , Hits behind the head , throws low punchs when the refs on the other side . HE hits after the bell . HE is kinda like a modern day Gene Fullmer .Guerrero will do any thing to be effective and after a head butt Guerrero will not aplogize to Mayweather the way Ortiz did . HE will punch again . This will drag Mayweather into a dirty fight and I think at this time in Mayweather career he dosnt want another fight like the ones he had with judea and ortiz . the gains are not worth the risks to his reputation against a tough guy like Guerrero who in many ways isnt in Mayweathers class But will drag him into a war and wars can get were Dirty. And some times both side can come out looking bad.

By the way Guerrero is a GOOD Fighter but beating Berto should not catapult you into a Mayweather Fight. We already SAW what happened to the last guy who dropped Berto twice and then got catapulted into a Mayweather Fight. He got stopped in 4.

“during the diriest fight ever fought”-Well you must’ve MISSED Mares vs. Moreno. Mares should have been DQ’d.

Make this fight happen. Guerrero vs Mayweather

And the same morons call Ward dirty. Please the ghost doesn’t deserve to mentioned in the same sentence as Mayweather. Beating an unjuiced Berto doesn’t mean squat. Victor Ortiz the quitter already did that. Guess what Berto was juiced for that fight too.

It’s Me, Ernie

Tark didn’t see Berto holding Guerrero’s arm ALL NIGHT LONG. Neither fighter had a clean performance. Both sides were responsible, just another episode of a right wing conspiracy brewing in his pea brain.

RapidOne08.. No offence or anything, but I think I’m a damn sight more qualified to pass judgement on Floyd’s fistic abilities than you are bro.

Phanco stop Hating….your article has no factual presentations if the fight. Watch the fight again!!! Berri did as much holding as the Ghost the only difference was the Ghost took this guy punch and connected his left hand with plenty body shots that would make anyone ribs askk for forgiveness…Look man, when you fight a technician with speed the way you beat him is by taking the fight to him by any mean necessary

TARK: That’s precisely why I do not care to watch a re-match. Credit to Guerrero for winning but this wasn’t the prettiest of fights. Better to leave it at one and not two. Hope that Berto can learn from this and regroup himself. Yes, Mayweather will dominate Guerrero most brilliantly — if lucky, Guerrero may win one round. That’s it.

This author is dead on… Guerrero fought a dirty filthy fight.. But that’s not the point.. The POINT is Lou Moret is the worst referee in the history of Boxing—never calling a foul during the diriest fight ever fought. Guerrero fought exactly like he knew no fouls would be called because he was grabbing Berto physically and bulling him against the ropes repeatedly. And keeping him there with his arms, shoulders, head, hands, and body, and just mauling … Then he throws 20 punches after the final bell. Who does things like that who’s afraid of having a foul called?

Here we go again building up a fighter to beat Floyd and as soon as Floyd beats his ass then all of a sudden the ghost never stood a chance anyway..

PEEJ

You called Mayweather a cherry picker and then named of Pac, Martinez and Canelo. I beleive they are all cherry pickers, well at least the first 2 are and Canelo fights at 154 not 147

Posted November 28, 2012 12:43 am

RNS

Guerrero just might end up in the right place at the right time. Mayweather has had his problems with jail and obvious inactivity so you never know. please do not misunderstand me, a prime Mayweather would box Guerrero to pieces but he is now heading towards 36 years old and Guerrero just might have enough about him to cause a major upset.

Posted November 28, 2012 12:30 am

why no mention here of pac, martinez or canelo?? … writer helpin fraudweather to duck and cherrypick again

suhail -yeah okay he’s beside Ali and all the sugars with a bucket of water and thats it. The Ghost moved up two whole weight classes to fight an undefeated power puncher that nobody wanted to fight. Your calln Berto a bum or whatever but this was the 2nd time Berto was lined up to fight Mayweather next so explain that. Mayweather will be 37 when or if he fights again-all the boxing know hows know he’s ready to be taking-he’s ready to lose dude. Cotto is just to nice of a fighter but someone grimy like The Ghost is going to rough his ass up now maybe Mayweather shuts him down-is that good for Mayweather NOPE-cause if he’s so damn good the Pac fight would’ve been happen and stop talkn bout how small he is compared to Martinez plz cause thats bull. Mayweather is so sweet these days Alvarez is ready to fight him-Alvarez and everyone else believe they can beat him-they want money but they want to beat him. No one was even talkn bout all this money crap till Mayweather stepped in the scene. Oscar made alot more money-but he gave everyone a chance-Mayweather is just a fake

You guys kill me with there’s no one to fight crap. Mayweather wont fight untill May any damn way and the WW division is hot. I don’t wanna see Cotto fight him again-lets see something new-like the winner of JMM and Pac would be good. Even though Mayweather beat JMM in his first try at 147 that was then and this is now cause if he’s able to beat Pac then he’s ready for a 2nd try at Mayweather. Mark my words Mayweather wont dare fight Thurman-the guy is to raw-fast enough and hungry for May. He would fight him though at 147 but he’ll probably try to make either The Ghost-Pac or JMM fight him at 154. Mayweather is a str8 sucker-the gig is up and some of you are still drinking the damn Kool Aid for cryn out loud. Mayweather just fought @ 154 so either fight the Pac/ JMM winner-Martinez-the Trout/ Cotto winner or Alvarez-every last one of those fights are HUGE-a fight vs the Ghost can be built up but it still wont be as big as any of those fights I named. If Trout beats Cotto then his belt/ undefeated record makes the fight look xtra good. The fights Mayweather will not take and I bet my life on it is Pac if he stops JMM-Trout if he tears Cotto up-I don’t think he really wants to fight Alvarez and he damn sure wont fight Martinez so that basically leaves us with The Ghost who still might beat his cherry picking ass

Does anyone seriously consider Victor Ortiz to be anything but a B level fighter? And damaged goods at that. Guerrero is no worse that Ortiz and for my money I see Ortiz quitting against Guerrero like he did against Floyd and every other fighter with skill, power or stamina. That being said I will agree with the author that Guerrero is no where near Floyd’s league, but to say that Ortiz was any better is a joke.

Mayweather will be 37 yrs old when or if they fight. I don’t know why everyone thinks he can’t lose lol. Castillo did it and was robbed-Castillo fought him real well the 2nd time also and any fan that didn’t think the rematch was close should just watch people toss horse shoe’s. Oscar fought him close also-he lost but he did well. Cotto did waay better than those BS scores read-Pacman did alot better vs Bradley than Mayweather did vs Cotto. Anyway, I think The Ghost has a real good chance at beating Mayweather. It seems Mayweather really wants to fight Berto cause everytime I turn around the winner of a Berto fight has a chance to fight Mayweather. Say what you want but Mayweather wanted easy pickins and he was hoping to fight the very limited Berto. Berto was just dominated by Guerrero-just plain old dominated and the Ghost fights alot better than that-I thought he was going to out box Berto from outside-Berto isn’t a boxer-he’s just another Shane Mosely except he’s not nowhere as good as a prime Mosely

Robert is an extraordinarily average fighter with below average power. I agree with the author of this article. Let his fight and beat guys like Ortiz, Thurman, etc before he fights Mayweather. I also saw the same fouls this author did last Saturday night. Berto is Robert’s best win which hardly makes him Mayweather worthy.

Mayweather loves this fight though because it’s an easy night in the right.

Floyd is ready to taste his first defeat. it may be the ghost,or it may be somebody else but his day is combing sooner rather then latter.

He does have no chance, but neither did Ortiz.

Throw him around like a rag doll???? People live in fantasyland! Floyd might do this to his b**tch but never in the ring!!! Get real folks! And since when does Floyd give those a shot based on a “deserve” basis? Criteria: can’t hurt me and $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Posted November 27, 2012 5:04 pm

JoeKidd

If Floyd is stupid enough to get in a ring with this guy, and Guerrero does not get DQ then watch out!

Posted November 27, 2012 4:58 pm

Proud African

I agree with the writer of the article. Mayweather will throw him around like a paper doll, and deservedly so.

whether he stands a chance or not is not an issue…it’s about who May wants to fight that is deserving…..He’s fought enough fights and fought whoever was available and won, that should be enough

Didn’t read the article but I agree with the title.

I wouldn’t say he doesn’t stand a chance, I personally think he’s a step above Ortiz. You look at both of their performances against common opponent Berto and immediately, you see Guerrero got the more convincing win. Now I’m not saying that counts for an awful lot given that Berto was coming off of a long layoff, but at least with Guerrero you’ll get someone who doesn’t mentally collapse after 4 rounds or gas after 2. Having said all this, can May even make 147 these days or will Guerrero have to concede a move to 154?

SREDMOND

If all it took was for a guys to be rough with Mayweather then he would have lost LONG ago we have heard the vaunted “pressure” argument since Castillo and he has remained undefeated splitting one decision in 43 contests…. Guerrero would get picked apart and his overaggressiveness would allow the BEST counterpuncher in the business to tee off at will..I would prefer Pac and Canelo but if this is the fight so be it….But Guerrero deserves credit for beating Berto this writer is sour, I hate whining..

Posted November 27, 2012 2:36 pm

Me

Yes, you should be worried that Mayweather fights Guerrero, if the same tactics is allowed. As Mayweather loves to employ borderline illegal tactics like bending way low or basically turning around with just the feet facing the opponent, this should then be a level playing field.
