Boxtradamus… You said Cotto never touched Floyd with anything but a jab. Now you’re trying to BS your way past that by saying the connects with power shots were few.

Somebody marked Floyd and it wasn’t the referee. Floyd himself admitted Cotto was the toughest man he ever fought — and Floyd has so far failed to fight a few men who would be toughter for him than Cotto — such as Trout, Canelo, and Martinez — who are obviously logical contenders for Floyd’s 154-pound title.

Floyd wants to fight the sloppy, punchable, and rather slow Guerrero, who even Floydiots such as you consider not that great a choice — considering the talent that’s out there.

Boxtradamus

“Cotto obviously caught Floyd with a few left hooks and right hands as well.”-And those were FEW and FAR in between. His main weapon was the jab. Hence just a few trickles of blood from Floyd’s nose instead of a swollen FACE like Trout and busted EARDRUM like Pacquiao.

Cotto lost for sure, but put up a good fight. The judge that scored it 119 should not be allowed to judge boxing again.

It WOULD be a great action fight.. A lot of that would be punches in Canelo’s face.

Trout-Cotto was an entertaining fight for the fans…. Trout landed MORE punches, MORE power punches, and HARDER CLEANER punches. Trout worked inside, outside, upside, and downside. He whipped Cotto in every aspect of the game. Trout emerged fresh as a daisy and happy as a lark. Cotto emerged a sour, sore, ass-beaten pizza-face looking like he lost a lottery ticket.

You win—you get Canelo.. You lose — Get back in line flunkie.

A very good performance by Trout. He deserves bigger fights but he will have to wair for them. He is competent but not exciting. Alvarez vs Cotto would be a great action fight. Alvarez vs. Trout would not be.

The only thing with Cotto in this fight is that he was too small. Periood! He took on a much bigger man big risk no return. Cotto showed that he’s not afraid of getting in the ring and testing his mettle. Trout showed to have good boxing skill but still had a tuff time with the smaller Cotto. I dont believe that Cotto lost any credibility muchless lose a step. All the credit in the world to Trout who I really didnt think he was as good as his record showed. Trouts has 25 fights his last 7 opponents had more losses combined than Cottos last 25 opponents combined. I dont see Alvarez fighting Trout I do see Martinez in the ring with Trout although there isn’t a big payday in it for him if he does.

Right…. A multi-million dollar joker who’s 27 years old, has a knockout fiancé you would kill for, is 27-0, and just knocked off an ATG boxer-puncher. Not too shabby.

What have you done lately Mr. Bigshot?

Trout sucks. He only won cause Cotto has the chicken pox. I’d beat trout he’s an amature and only knocked 14 people out. What a joker

I didn’t like the wide scores as i thought the fight was a lot closer . It was a tough night for Cotto and i felt he didn’t train as well and may have overlook Trout

Boxtradamus says, “Cotto couldn’t touch Mayweather with anything else than a jab.”

Another lie… Ask Mayweather’s face about that.. Not only was his nose bloodied but he was marked up pretty well.. Cotto obviously caught Floyd with a few left hooks and right hands as well.

Trout was unmarked and looked like a white collar guy who just stepped out of the office for a break at his press conference, rather than a guy who just went 12 rounds with Miguell Cotto… If Trout doesn’t get the Canelo fight there’s no justice.

Floyd had a lot more trouble beating Cotto than Trout did. Cotto and Floyd has no business at 154. They should stay away from the big boys and fight Guerrero. I’d like to see Trout and the other 154 fighters fight Keith Thurman.

How did Cotto fade so much in only a year, after those great wins against Mayorga and Margarito?

Something was not right in his training. I don’t buy the size argument as he has easily defeated taller opponents at 154lb.

He just didn’t seem to have the fire and wasn’t in the fight really, after round 4.

Posted December 2, 2012 12:01 pm

I was at the fight last night and in person it looked like Cotto won about 8-4 thats y the crowd was booing the most telling punches in person was Cottos left hook and even though Trout had good moments and swelled Cotto due to his size it just looked like Cotto easily outpointed him in person. Gotta c the telecast to c what the hell did i miss.

Posted December 2, 2012 10:58 am

Cotto is just too small for these true 154lb guys.. who are actually Middleweights.. he needs to campain back at 147lbs…

Posted December 2, 2012 10:58 am

Public Enemy

At the risk of soundking like I’m amaking excuses, Trout was obviously the much bigger guy in the Ring, he smoothered Cotto and was holding a hell of a lot.. that being said, it’s part of fighting and if Cotto couldn’t figure out a way to overcome those tactics then he definitely lost the rounds.. Trouts low blows also took a lot of steam out of Cotto can’t say they were intentional but intentional or not they had an effect on Cottos power… Good win for Trout Cotto has to seriously regroup and in my opinion go back to his Uncle and end his career with the guy who got him to the top… The Cuban Trainer is not baqd just not a guy who can get the most out of Cottos natural Body Snatcher style.. too much time spent trying to make Cotto an Elite light on his feet Boxer??? why???

Posted December 2, 2012 10:56 am

Public Enemy

The fight was a little closer then the judges had it but Cotto lost.. it wasn’t a spectacular fight, too much holding and avoiding exchanbes but no duubt trout won the majority of rounds.. Cotto better seriously start thinking of calling it a day.. he just doesn’t have that killer instinct like he had when he was younger and training with the Cuban in my opinion has been terrible for him.. The Cuban has been trying to turn Cotto into a Boxer which is not Cottos strength. When Cotto was crowding Trout like he did with Mayweather he had success but then he tries to bout box these guys wh are naturally much better pure Boxers… stupid strategy..Good win for Trout and now it seems like trout and Canelo can get it on… Cotto can make a few more fights but his better days are definitely behind him.. Good champ but all things come to an end…

Posted December 2, 2012 10:56 am

Cotto can’t be Cotto anymore. He’s a shot fighter and tough losses have changed him as a boxer. The Alvarez fight won’t sell as Cotto looks beatable now. If anything, he should stay at 147 where I think he can still be competitive.

cotto is a known warrior and has nothing to be ashamed of but its time to hand over the baton and maybe after one more fight retire cotto these young boys are hungry and trying to make a name, i didn’t really appreciate how cotto was trying to use the crowd to determine if he had won or not when asked the question because of course the crowd is going to feel he won they were 98% cotto fans and hopefully they respect mr. trout now and give him his just due…yuuup!

Yup. Roach is a dummy. Marquez capitalizes on Manny’s attacks. SO now Roach is telling him to attack even more. SO Marquez is going to make him pay more now. Marquez already has Manny timed like a ROLEX. Now he’s adding the missing component which is Power. Now the 3 Blind mice won’t have a chance to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. Marquez will stop Manny or PUNISH him SO bad that they’ll reluctantly have to give him the decision.

Prince, how u think salmon gets by the pressure and overwhelming power of manny? How will fish out box a master boxer and Mexican icon. And most importantly how will he overcome the debistating power of hatton who after 3 years off almost beat a top 10 p4p fighter

And I leave tonight saying that Camacho Sr. was the best all around puerto rican fighters, and better than most any, I’ve seen all time… good night..

Posted December 2, 2012 1:05 am

The Prince

Hmm.. Floyd might actually look past Guerrero and fight Trout at 154. It would be a good fight that haters couldn’t discredit him for. Because Trout would have a chance and he just proved himself by out hustling Cotto. Unlike Guerrero who many haters see as an easy win and cherrypicking by Floyd. If Floyd beats Trout, he could retire on that win with no complaints. People have already given up on the Manny fight, even if Manny beats Marquez in their 4th fight. Floyd now has options for 2013. And Canalo really needs to stop going to fight of potential opponents. It doesn’t work out well for him.

Trout got lucky to fight a washed up Cotto. He would get killed in a fight with the likes of pacquiao, Marquez, or Hatton. This guy can’t even knock nobody out. Who wants to watch this clown slap his way to victory? He should fight Steve Erkle next.

Posted December 2, 2012 12:59 am

Say whatever you want but cotto was a washed-up fighter when we saw him mayweather and it was proven tonight… Why the hell mayweather never fights the best on their prime ? If he is the best he should fight the best not like what he did when he came up to welterweight instead of fighting Williams who was undefited champion at a time he took baldomir!!

Posted December 2, 2012 12:58 am

There would have been something going on with the cards if it were close lefhook. But it SO lopsided that they had no choice but to give it to the WINNER or lose all credibility.

Anonymous: Give me a break, it was round was just as one sided, and Floyd actually slipped most of Cotto’s punches, even Cotto said in a post fight interview that he couldn’t really hit him… Trout got his with a bit of everything, and had his boxing taken from him…. he relied on his size a lot. He took a nice bit of solid left hooks… right leads… etc.

Cotto couldn’t touch Mayweather with anything other than a jab. He hit Trout with a little bit of everything. Trout needs alot more Boxing SKILLS in order to beat Floyd. He may be able to squeak one out over Canelo.

JoeKidd: I don’t think it was necessarily close either… kinda like his bout with Floyd… competitive rounds with FM winning just about all of em. There is no way Canelo can duck Trout. He was there in case of getting the bout with Cotto, same with Lopez (140) Vs. Ortiz (147) …now he has a legit 154 to fight. Go for it Canelo. It’s showme time.

Posted December 2, 2012 12:46 am

The Prince

Paulie’s score card was definitely biased, and he didn’t commentate for a good five minutes after the decision for Trout was made. Bernstein had to clean him up. Clearly, Paulie favored Cotto. Which is interesting considering how Cotto embarrassed him years ago.

Very disappointed in Cotto leaving the ring like that, Trout more than deserved the verdict and deserved more respect. infact they showed him no respect at all, making the champion enter the ring first. anyway that is the end of Cotto in my opinion, crying in a prerecorded interview played before the fight talking about retiring and spending time with his family. congratulations to Trout and I hope he gets the fight with Alvarez.

Trout is no match for Mayweather. His Defense is GOOD but not GREAT. Mayweather’s Defense is GREAT. If you can’t stop Cotto you’re not stopping Mayweather. And you are DEFINITELY not out Boxing him. Mayweather by UNANIMOUS Decision.

Tomato Can: Maybe he likes his hair that way…. and he just wanted to pay homage to his uncall. That’s your “Oh NO, I would NEEEEVER do that” coming out… but your limits aren’t everyone elses limits, He was gusty to do what he did. Leave him alone.

Sanchez’s nephew under to much pressure to live up to his Uncle’s name. Really that’s not to healthy for him, he should find his own way, it would probably help his boxing.
He started out with horrible balance and just didn’t have his Rhythm. He was doomed from the first round

Q

I almost missed the bout with this “FBI has locked your computer” virus, lol…

Posted December 1, 2012 11:18 pm

Tomato Can

Yes, it his nephew, no ones getting down on him for that. Actually it would have been cool if he was as good as his uncle. But the 30 year old hair styles and attire makeup of a circus act… Sorry.

I am bald

I would of been proud to get knocked out, still got my hair.

Posted December 1, 2012 10:56 pm

Rainbow Trout

Austin, don’t get hooked by a Cotto hook, there will be some colourful language if you do,
see what I did there, that was a joke.

Posted December 1, 2012 10:55 pm

Get Your Shine Box

Great analysis Koolz. You don’t know s/hit. “Cotto has fans, Trout is talented, who knows who will win?” Pffffft. Find another interest.

Posted December 1, 2012 10:52 pm

Koolz

Boxtradamus huh?
are you 12 years old maybe?
I think that Cotto is going to be on super high from all his 20,000 fans! In NewYork.
I mean He is super experienced. I think this might be a close fight. But hey who knows!
Trout is talanted guy. He deserves his moments!

Posted December 1, 2012 10:51 pm

Tomato Can

Garcia’s going to catch and beat Judah, after taking some damage. Garcia isn’t the best I’ve seen, but he’s gaining my respect more with each fight.

Posted December 1, 2012 10:47 pm

Tomato Can

Bernie Campbell, take a closer look at Jacobs, it looks as though he’s aged 10 years since the pirog fight. I don’t doubt him having cancer at all. hopefully it’s gone for good, now.

Posted December 1, 2012 10:45 pm

Koolz

There you go even Danny shows respect to Camacho!

Posted December 1, 2012 10:44 pm

hookoffthejab

well said danny ….machoO time …..

Posted December 1, 2012 10:44 pm

Tomato Can

So far I would have to agree. Camacho left the biggest imprint in boxing, in my era. To bad he didn’t get the props he deserved when he was in his prime.

Posted December 1, 2012 10:42 pm

hookoffthejab

geale would school danny his a b- fighter maybe a c+

Posted December 1, 2012 10:37 pm

Kools, maybe but a couple of years ago Pirog had Jacobs number in their fight.

Posted December 1, 2012 10:32 pm

Posted December 1, 2012 10:31 pm

Koolz

Danny is a better boxer and I mean hell he beat the conspiracy that is cancer! any fight that is physical is nothing compared to that! he will go far far far! again!

Posted December 1, 2012 10:25 pm

Tomato Can

Fitzpatrick will more than likely end up getting knocked out.

Posted December 1, 2012 10:24 pm

Posted December 1, 2012 10:18 pm

Tomato Can

Question for the fight fans, who’s left a bigger imprint with you in boxing: Cotto, Camacho Sr., Trinidad or any other Puerto rican fighter?
