“Only?”-YES only. A jab is the easiest punch to land in Boxing. IF you can’t hit a guy with anything other than a jab then either his Defense is STUPENDOUS or your Offense is POOR. Either way the result IS that only landing the jab is a POOR result for an Offensive Fighter….In contrast to that Cotto landed HOOKS on Trout. Anyone that knows anything about Boxing will tell you that its more difficult to land a HOOK than a JAB. SO as I SAID and I was CORRECT….Trout’s Defense is GOOD but Floyd’s Defense is STUPENDOUS. Compubox agrees with ME on that.

Trout punches like a girl. Cotto does not belong in this division. Canelo by late KO.

“When you can only hit a guy with the jab…” Only? A well-executed jab is one of the most effective punches in boxing. This is why good boxing trainers emphasize the importance of mastering the jab–it is an excellent offensive and defensive weapon. Any fighter than can repeatedly hit Floyd Mayweather Jr. with a jab and bust his nose up in the process is doing something great. Before Cotto, name Mayweather’s last opponent who did that. As for Cotto busting Manny’s eardrum–you’re damn straight. And, Pacquiao will have a cauliflower ear for the rest of his life. That was a powerful punch!

SO the FACT remains that Floyd never caught with the shots that Trout got caught with. His Defense is on another level. When you can only hit a guy with the jab thats called GREATNESS. Just ask Pacquiao. Cotto didn’t just bust his nose. He busted his EAR DRUM.

So what I’m saying Braggadamus, is that Cotto bashed Mayweather’s nose–multiple times–with a mere jab. Mayweather couldn’t avoid Cotto’s jab, Trout couldn’t avoid Cotto’s left hook. But Mayweather was the one bleeding after the fight. Not Trout.

I’m really bummed that Cotto lost this fight. Now he’s going to get even more tattoos! :)

SEE the shot that Cotto landed in this pic???? He NEVER landed anything like that vs. Floyd. That’s because Floyd’s Defense is STUPENDOUS.

“you picked Moreno over Mares lol your not that good put the cigar down you were way off on that one”-While you’re still focused on that one Fight I’ve picked WINNER after WINNER after WINNER after WINNER. Learn how to keep UP. I’ve picked 19 times as many WINNERS as I do LOSERS…..Just look at the last 2 weeks….I predicted that Guerrero would WIN, I predicted that Senchenko would WIN, and I predicted that Trout was a GOOD pick. ALL of them were Underdog WINNNERS!! I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!!!!!!

time for other contenders to make money….need fo pass the torch……time will take it’s toll and we’ll no longer have to wait for pacman, pbf and all these fighters that don’t want to fight each other…props to Cotto for taking risks and fighting top fighters without fear of losing….a real fighter no doubt

Canelo/Trout would be a facinating unification contest & prove to us who’s #1 in the World @ 154Lb + someones 0 would have to go. So how about PBF vs Guerrero @ 147 with the 2 winners battling it out @ light-middleweight to decide the World’s #1 pound4pounder?”It’s all about ca$h & that would generate Millions!

The fight was closer than the scores that were given,IMO. I don’t have a problem with the decision as Cotto(fought ok) didn’t do enough but he deserves better than those ridiculous scores

good win for trout but he had all the advantages in the fight he was bigger cotto looked small compare to trout he was taller cotto just didn looked the same cotto he couldn hurt trout even know he did land some shots on him trout took control on the outside tho he was more busier landing that left on cotto and to the body trout was more fresher down the strech he was getting confident so credit to trout for beating cotto in his home crowd

The Mad Scientist

Victor Ortiz lost to Josesito Lopez and Canelo fought the winner of that fight..Cotto lost to Trout so Canelo should fight the winner of that fight as well.

TARK

Doing a Cotto-Alvarez fight would be typical of Boxing…

Who gives a crap what the fans want? It’s about what Oscar and Arum want… Oscar had Cotto winning, so the official result—and the result 90% of Boxing fans saw—doesn’t mean anything. They’ll shove whatever fight they want down our throats.

Let’s just screw Trout and get the Canelo-Cotto promotional show on the road.. I can see Oscar at the mike at a press conference saying, “We all know Miguel Cotto was the real winner in Madison Square Garden on December 1st.” Don’t mention Trout’s name.

I hope fans and Boxing writers don’t let Oscar get away with another power play.
