TARK

The focus is all on Floyd because Pacquiao isn’t holding up the fight… He has given in to ALL Floyd’s demands to call his bluff… and a bluffer Floyd is — .50 is right on that score but the pressure is ramping up on Floyd from every sector.

Floyd doesn’t want Lara… doesn’t want Garcia… doesn’t want Pacquiao… Too risky to his “O.”

“You see… Bob Arum is somebody I don’t want…” Right Floyd.

CRACkquaio running now, ever since lance armstrong got busted.
He wants the fifth outside the U.S. He knows if the fifth fights take place here, there will be blood testing 24/7 and he wont be to take EPO. Which
is what made lance armstrong great, 7 time world champion. mmm It sounds familiar crackquaio 8 weight class division.

Marquez juiced? no way, juiced is the perfect over hand right that was delivered with authority, and all the power from behind Marquez shoulder, it landed flush on Pacquiao’s face [Pacquiao actually collided with the punch] nothing more and nothing less. Just take a look at the picture.

i believe that both fighters were equally-doped or equally-clean, which means it was a fair and even contest that resulted in Marquez planting Pacquiao’s* face into the canvas. That is what I believe.

yes, but not of him totally but rather the mode of invincabuility manny was in. I lost alot of respct for Floyd because he is not aa peoples champion. A true champ will give the people what they want, when it came to Manny Floyd had nothing but BS excuses…olympic drug testing? Who the hell does he think he is? If the boxing commision says your good, your good! this is a worrior sport!! Then when Manny finally conceeds to give the people what they want Floyd just has even more BS..now he wants most of the money as if Manny just got his belt. Manny was a TRUE WORRIOR CHAMPION WITH WITH MULTIBLE TITLE DEFENSES, wheres the respect between champions? Floyd knew those conditions were retarded….Floyd fans just face it, the man was scared!!! and the funny thing is, Manny had no shot at matching Floyds skillset, Floyd wouldve made Manny look really young, no way could he beat Floyd.

no floyd isnt afraid of pac any more now that he been koed by marquez ..But thats floyd thing when the big weleterweights were strong. even thou now it looks like he would have beaten them all .cant deny mayweathers talent he just wouldnt step up and take them on. Floyd went in retirement . floyd didnt fight manny, paul williams, a prime margaretto .,cotty, clotty . he is very talented but seems to play it to safe when picking his opponents. some call it smart business and boxing is a business . but to fight fans it obvious he never tested him self against the welterweights when they were at there best .if he had fought and beaten all those guys he beup with the all time greats. for now we can only guess

Angel Hereida (PED Supplier to Olympians) not have been involved in any way. Angel He saved his ass by snitching out others in the BALCO scandal, and even stated how he did it, and how there were plenty of ways to mask the them. I know JMM fans are roaming the streets still salivating after the KO, but using this guy shouldn’t have been allowed. He was busted by the Federal Government, so why allow this guy into a sport? JMM never had power like this. before and never had his upper torso shredded like did. Boxing needs to have the most thorough testing around or guys can possibly cheat. If JMM tested clean then so be it. He won, and should get credit, but it’s high suspect watching him train live at different camps. Mariods is noticeably bigger for a guy that was smaller than Manny before. Mariods power was a heavyweights not a welterweight. lets see the test results asap !

Man it took JMM 4 fights to beat manny. The Angel acussation is on key !!!!!!!! Mariods fits JMM perfectly. It took a dirty PED dealer and pump up a old againg fighter to beat Pac man, SAD

I can’t say either fighter is clean nor juiced. I do not work on either corner, but boxing should be strongly regulated…I mean stronger regulations. These guys are exposing their lives and their oponent lives. Anyone using performance enhancing subtances or loaded wraps should be banned, fine, charged with attempted murder, and stripped from their belts. They should test for every possible subtance available and fighter should not be allowed to gaing sooo much weight overnight nor loose too much weight in the week leading to the contest. Take this from an expowerlifter and bodybuilder STEROIDS WORKS!!!…

Manny has too much class to complain… But I don’t, because something just don’t seem right about this one punch KO!

So tell me how does Marquez, a guy who fought at FW & LW, MOST of his career, now at age 39, suddenly find the punching power against a guy who has fought at LWW, Welter-Weight and LMW, for the last ten plus years, to do what not even Mosley or Cotto could do, not to mention after their 3 previous fights where he barely ever staggered Pacquiao despite landing more power punches per round than in this fight. Now he KO’s him cold?! WOW!

As far as I’m concerned Juan is clean…Until there is some proof or evidence that links him to doping this is the best win of his Hall of Fame career. I look at it this way….Juan took the necessary steps to ensure his body and mind were in peak condition for his greatest test and he came out victorious. Juan went through hell to get the win he’s been seeking all these years but the end result is all that matters. Give the man his dues. He’s worked hard…he’s bled for this sport and worked hard to reach this climactic end. The fight was an epic battle that we all are going to remember. Let’s appreciate the performance BOTH men put on. PAC was actually winning and had Juan in MAJOR trouble through out the fight…especially in the 5th round. If you look at the punch stats…PAC was the more accurate fighter..PAC was the busier fighter and PAC inflicted the most damage…..So a 5th fight as crazy as it may sound might not be that bad of an idea. Even though Juan won this one emphatically at the very end…..he wasn’t looking like a fighter who was going to end up with the “W” in the rounds before.

39 years old with more power, muscles and reflexive capacities can only mean PEDS, whether delivered via transdermal gel (now the prefered way with testo to mask suppression by designer anabolics), injectable (epo, which must be tested on JMM stored urine samples), or parenteral……one look at JMM transformation is presumptive evidence of PEDS, his performance is practically proof of it.

I did not want a fourth fight but what a fight it turned out to be, this is what happens to great fighters like Paqcuiao it happened to Ali, Tyson, Roy Jones Jnr, this is boxing, boxers will lose and decline in performance. People criticize Pacquiao, but one thing you can say is he fought the best and beat the best, if certain fighters don’t want to fight him nothing can be done about that, you can not force someone to fight. People should stop looking for excuses and criticize enjoys the fight, people will miss these two great fighters once they retire.

Any boxer or trainer will tell you, ‘it’s the punch you don’t see coming that has the greatest effect.’ Marquez perfectly timed it, perfectly placed it, and Pacquiao never saw it = one-punch KO. End of story.

I thank it’s safe to say they have each other’s number. I went for JMM in all 4 fights but honestly the 1st 3 could’ve went either way and neither man would’ve been robbed even though I think JMM deserved the 3rd bout. Anyway, this was a great fight but Juan was in some serious trouble cause Manny was tearing him up at the time of the stoppage. I don’t know why Juan has to be on something cause he knocked Manny down and out with one shot-Manny came in real fast and was countered right on the buttom with a very strong right hand end of story. Even though I was going for JMM-he was in serious trouble-Manny might’ve broken his nose or something but I’d pay to see number 5

Although I predicted a Marquez win (actually a stoppage win by Marquez), did any other fans want to warn Pacquiao (as he began to look too confident) that Marquez is a counter-puncher? One would think that after 36 previous inconclusive rounds that Pacquiao would have fought a smarter bout. It’s the old truth about once in the ring a lot of adjustments made in training go out the window. When a fight break out, instinct takes over.

What goes around comes around”. Could not have said it better. As I wrote in another piece, some of Manny’s fans are the most hypocritical sycophants ever. And they also seem to suffer from selective amnesia. They were screaming at Floyd for linking Manny’s meteoric increase in weight and power with PEDs. Now they are making the same links with Marquez after Manny lost.

Every comment should link them with history. Do not allow them to get away with this hypocrisy. Like Ujelly asserted, when you had the opportunity to support a measure that would make this exchange moot, you were so vicariously hyped on Manny beating bigger fighters that you went appoplectic against the notion. Well, karma is a byaaaatch yo-all.

What a joke this comment is. Marquez has been working on beefing up since he fought mayweather 3 years ago. He realized his ineffective ness at the weight and said he’d put weight on properly since then. This isn’t 4 months of bulking up, it’s 3 years. People said the same thing last time around the only difference is Marquez didn’t get win. PAC was leaving himself open, lunging in, and got caught. He didn’t fight at his usual distance to be able to evade shots. The knockdown in 5 had him ready to take more chances and open up, and unfortunately for him, Marquez exploited that. You pac fans should find encouragement in the fact that for the first time in all their fights with each other, PAC was actually looking like the better fighter. He should have proceeded with caution instead of opening himself up because that seemed to be the only chance Marquez had and pac gift wrapped it for him

Boy, the one thing you get from all of Manny’s sycophants, including his trainer, is hypocrisy. Manny stopped people at weights way above where he started, and who had never fought professionally at similar weights to him, and they defend that. Marquez stops Manny and he is accused of using PEDS. This is karma, or a sort of eye opener to the boxing world. That what you do might come back to haunt you, or that life will produce circumstances to haunt you for what you do and say.

Ok, are we agreed that there should be Olympic Style Performance Enhancing Drug Testing in boxing in order to end this controversy? Did you have to be dragged to the table of consensus over this? Is it not instructive that the person who seemingly paid the cost of awakening this conversation is the very person wround whom it percolated? We test boxers for cannabis when that will not give them any advantage, but argue against the requirement to test them for every drug that serve that purpose.

Long ago boxing had fans. Today it has sycophants for whom logic is extinct. Manny rode into fame upon a series of fights where he demanded that his opponents come in at weight limits lower than was natural for them. Floyd Mayweather beat two of those fighters at the weights they normally fight at. But he gets pilloried while Manny gets praised. Well the Gods of boxing became tired of the hypocrisy and used Marquez to tell the sycophants stfu.

Whether JMM used any illegal substance, I don’t know, but he could have, at age 39-40, achieved that muscle and fitness level without PEDS.

Wow! Well, I have to take back everything I said about this being an “I told you so fight.” Definitely the fight of the year. Masterful execution by Marquez. I havn’t seen a top level fighter out like that in years. I’m glad Manny’s okay though. I hate to see any fighter get knocked out like that. Really scary for about five minutes. The man was out cold! Interesting though: Manny got careless, Juan capitalized. And you know, I said Marquez was putting on that beef (muscle) because power was the only thing he lacked to stop Manny. He had tons of it last night. What a punch!

Posted December 9, 2012 10:38 am

obviously Floyd after knocking marquez down went into outpointing mode after tasting the counter punches of Marquez. Marquez has a cobra like countering that is hard to evade.

running into a blind thrown perfect blow (like Sergio’s one) stops everybody, regardless of PED. I say: let them organizations do the testing. What comes out, comes out. Other thoughts are worthless for me, because at this level, everybody has the same possibilities, and everybody can’t free himself from doubts, this has to be done by a neutral body of org..

Posted December 9, 2012 9:54 am

obbieman

Yes, I saw the Juan Diaz and Katsidis, and pretty much all Marquez fights. You can pressure Marquez because historically, he does not have one punch countering power. He wears down opponents with counters and eventually knocks them out. The first knockdown in the third round surprised everyone. Where did that come from? He found power at age 40, while moving up in weight? That’s usually the equation for reduced power. If Marquez is clean, well done. But I have my doubts.

Posted December 9, 2012 9:53 am

fartface

I give my mr. olympio vote to Marquez. He had the best overall symetry and musle definition. Oh i forgot, was this boxing?

Posted December 9, 2012 9:50 am

obbieman

This wasn’t a typical Marquez win. He never had one punch ko power, especially against world class opponents. His ko’s came from wearing down opponents, like Juan Diaz. The 3rd round knockdown surprised everyone since we pretty much knew that Pacquiao had a sturdy chin based on historical records.

Roach may be the worst trainer in boxing….all his boys getting knocked out and he seems to be lacking on the strategy end….also he seems incoherent when talking, maybe due to some boxing blows in the past…

JuanManuelMarPEDs

MarPEDs sudden strength in just around 4 months of training is biologically impossible. I take nothing away from him and he has always had Manny’s number. But this one is really incredible. PEDs use to gain strength is just what he needed and it worked. But somehow in history it will always be tainted – Only those medically ignorant can claim that this is a legit win. This is not baseball where PEDs use get you to hit homeruns, you’re bashing other people’s heads in boxing and PEDs use is inexcusable. MarPEDs did what he did to win – and he needed to cheat to get it done. This is not boxing if you ask me.

Posted December 9, 2012 7:02 am

dimelojudo

Funny that most people will talk about juicing: it is natural for those who do not know about training to say those things. There are a million substances that are legal and can aid in creating muscle along with the right kind of training regimen (creatine, HMB, Glutamine, Alpha Lip acid, etc ). Most strength trainers in boxing are not elite trainers. People can speculate all they want; however, Marquez punch was well placed whether he intended it or not. I am amazed at the comments here! Pacquiao was dominating the fight until he was hit by a well placed punch. It happens, it is boxing! Pacquiao doesn’t train as much as he used to anymore. He has too many distractions and carries too many leashes around. Marquez looked determined and Pacquiao was just doing it just to do it. He didn’t even had his gloves on when the fight prior to his was ending. People will speculate about Heredia and Marquez but one thing is certain; Heredia is an amazing strength and conditioning trainer. Heredia worked with the bests and was able to figure out the training that worked and the one that didn’t: Trial and error! Do you think the other athletes outside the US were not juicing when Heredia was caught? Please, most of those running track and field are juicing and it will be absurd to go to a gun fight with a knife. However, what makes the difference when the field is even out comes to training and natural ability; genetics. In conclusion, wow, what a punch: Sergio and Williams dajavu!

Whats next for Marquez? I hope not Mayweather(No disrespect to Mayweather) because styles make fights and it will be a boring fight. Rios, Bradley, Broner, Garcia… — However, Mayweather is a very smart fighter and businessman and he is already seeing an angle after this fight—and i know some of you are too ;)

“Boxtradamus

Yup. Roach is a dummy. Marquez capitalizes on Manny’s attacks. SO now Roach is telling him to attack even more. SO Marquez is going to make him pay more now. Marquez already has Manny timed like a ROLEX. Now he’s adding the missing component which is Power. Now the 3 Blind mice won’t have a chance to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. Marquez will stop Manny or PUNISH him SO bad that they’ll reluctantly have to give him the decision.

Marquez was practically taunting Team Pacquiao* with challenges of “test me if you dare”. they didn’t pursue his challenges making the issue moot. unless Marquez tests dirty now, we have to assume he’s clean just like we must regarding Pacquiao* and these are the breaks.

sweet and poetic justice for the rivalry to end in this manner. Viva Marquez!

JuanManuelMarPEDs

Stricter drug testing should have been done prior to the fight. Where do you see so much power out of MarPEDs in such a short time? In the first 3 fights he landed nearly the same punches on PAC that stunned PAC but didn’t floor him! Now all of a sudden after training with a known Roids dealer he has all this incredible one shot power to KO a full welterweight?! Everyone is turning a blind eye to PEDs use in MarPEDs camp! Post fight drug testing should be imposed to expose the cheater!

Wrong battle plan. He should have not done that to one of the greatest counter puncher. The pacman camp did a hatton there, and we know that manny’s defense is not class A. Marquez knows he wont win by decision so they plan for a big counter punch to a reckless manny. Well, why roach didnt know that.

Te Tumbo – Great point. The Pacquiao camp made it clear they were going for the KO.

Freddie was almost a bystander during the post-fight interviews. barely in sight and nowhere in sight in the one posted above. let’s not forget that it was Roach who inSisted on a KO-seeking fight-plan for this bout. disregarding the proven fact that Marquez is more dangerous backing-up than going forward. just ask Juan Diaz who also experienced some initial success v. Marquez but paying a stiff tax all the while before being set-up for the eventual and crushing KO. in many ways, this was a typical Marquez win but not a typical Pacquiao* loss but he was looking for a KO and found it: his own.

I am a Manny fan but also really like Marquez (they are in fact my number 1 and 2 favourites). Those Manny fans claiming JMM was on Ped’s are simply jealous hypocrites who screamed when those false accusations were levelled a Pac Man, what we saw tonight was a brilliant boxer land a perfect counter right against another fighter and I for one would like to congratulate JMM on the victory he has more than deserved over the series just a bit sad to see a great fighter and man so brutally KO’ed.

its was a great win for marquez manny has to much fight in him. this one cant be blamed on roach he had manny boxing well he was moving his head fighting in and out when manny hurt marqueez his killer instincts git the better of manny . pac stopped boxing and he decided to stand and slug .. that got him koed .

juan was definitely hurt by pacquiao, but i dont think mannys knockdown was legit.
i could be wrong but i think i saw manny step on marquez’ foot as hit hit him so juan couldnt keep his balance.

thats not to say that manny fought dirty, southpaws get into tangles like that all the time

Whats obvious is that Marquez landed the BEST Punches for two Fights in a row. Since his SKILLS and Boxing IQ were already Superior he just worked on his POWER. You do NOT pressure Marquez or you get knocked out!!!

HOW can Panster take all those well done throws from Jmm and in this match up of the 4TH fight Jmm throws like he has dual possed power. Jmm had a awfully lot more power now on this board people are talking about his conditioning coach. I dont like what I’m reading.

How the hell was marquez able to drop pacquiao like that when he was never able to in the first three fights? In the first three fights, pacquiao got hit nearly as hard multiple times and they didn’t even come close to testing Manny’s chin like what happened tonight. It seems unrealistic that Marquez can gain that much strength as he has already been near his upper limit.
I am really questioning if Marquez is on some of type of PEDs and juicing.
