JMM never had power like this. before and never had his upper torso shredded like did. Boxing needs to have the most thorough testing around or guys can possibly cheat. If JMM tested clean then so be it. He won, and should get credit, but it’s high suspect watching him train live at different camps. My only question is why did JMM punches seem to move and hurt Manny almost every time he hit Manny? To me, that’s an awful lot of power that Manny has handled with no problem in previous fights, and the addition of his new trainer that is well known for PED distribution raises doubts. I wish boxing wouldn’t allow people like that in the sport, but that’s why a National commission that regulates all of boxing should be in place. I doubt that will ever happen, but guys like Hereida should never be allowed near any professional athletes especially if they have been found guilty for the things he did. There would never had been any question if this guy wasn’t around, and also in a previous interview, JMM said that he nothing about Angel Hereida. Serious? I hope he won clean, because it was a great fight, and JMM was sincerely concerned for Manny, after. Posted December 10, 2012 2:13 amEngr138Marquez is much heavier now at 143, so obviously his power is going to increase. In their third fight, Marquez never really connected Pacquiao the way he did in yesterday’s fight. He connected him with a clean right power shot that KD Pacquiao. Pacquiao got up right away, but was in bad shape. The second knock down was a tremendous right hand, pushing all his weight forward….no boxer was gonna get up from that one. If you naive little people don’t realize that, then you’re watching the wrong sport. Posted December 10, 2012 2:12 amZKOThe title of this articles says it all. Marquez has pacquiao’s number and people just need to realize that. You need to ask how does pacquiao go from taking shots from bigger , stronger men when he kept moving up in weight but all of sudden he seems normal in his last 4 fights. I’m all for giving JMM his just due, but since the addition of Angel Hereida (PED supplier to Olympians), any reasonable person would have suspicion. Marquez shocking win is as shocking as Ben Johnson breaking Olympic and World sprinting record at an older age. He was of course found to be guilty of using PEDS. Athletes just don’t come out with these type of impressive performance by coincidence. Manny Pacquiao in 3 previous fights had never been affected in the way he was affected by JMM punches as he was last night. The difference in the fight was one thing, power. I look at it this way….Juan took the necessary steps to ensure his body and mind were in peak condition for his greatest test and he came out victorious. Juan went through hell to get the win he’s been seeking all these years but the end result is all that matters. Give the man his dues. He’s worked hard…he’s bled for this sport and worked hard to reach this climactic end. The fight was an epic battle that we all are going to remember. Let’s appreciate the performance BOTH men put on. PAC was actually winning and had Juan in MAJOR trouble through out the fight…especially in the 5th round. If you look at the punch stats…PAC was the more accurate fighter..PAC was the busier fighter and PAC inflicted the most damage…..So a 5th fight as crazy as it may sound might not be that bad of an idea. Posted December 9, 2012 3:05 pmte tumbo“Are you disappointed with Erik Morales who said it was a case of Marquez having a better pharmacy?” of course and if he was on this board i’d tell him the same thing IF he gave Pacquiao* a pass for rejecting(?!?) improved and random testing methods then had the sour grapes to wish dirt for Marquez. i’ve always said if neither fighter requests it, let the contest begin! i’ve also aways rejected one fighter being able to reject improved testing as suspicious. what We Both Do Know is that for this bout, neither fighter requested improved and random testing even while one fighter repeatedly and publicly stated his willingness to do so upon request. “Any test. Any time. I’ve got nothing to hide” are his exact words that Pacquiao* has never uttered. based on what we Know, your suspicion is misdirected, my friend. Posted December 9, 2012 2:52 pmFight Aficionado“you’ve been one of Pacquiao’s* most ardent defenders when it comes to rejecting(?!?) improved testing.” – Not true. My point was where it’s blood or urine tests matter little. The key is they’re random out of competition tests. Tarver and Berto got busted with urine tests. And I in case you forgot I was rooting on Hatton and Oscar when they fought Pac so this isn’t a case of sour grapes. The abrupt physical transformation of Marquez’s body like Vargas had vs Oscar and Marquez’s involvement with the guy who juiced up several track athletes make it highly suspicious. Are you disappointed with Erik Morales who said it was a case of Marquez having a better pharmacy? Posted December 9, 2012 2:34 pmobbieman“Show me an unbeaten fighter and I’ll show you a Boxer who hasn’t fought anybody.” Marquez and Pacquiao are warriors who aren’t afraid to lose. Thank you for all these thrilling matches. You both throw in the kitchen sink. I just don’t know about that unbeaten protected one. Posted December 9, 2012 2:22 pmte tumbomeanwhile FIGHT AFICIONADO, pretty disapointing that you of all people would be wishing dirt for Marquez. after all, you’ve been one of Pacquiao’s* most ardent defenders when it comes to rejecting(?!?) improved testing. maybe Team Pacquiao* should have taken Marquez up on his repeated offers of “Any test. Any time. I’ve got nothing to hide”. too late for that now but justice’s timing couldn’t have been any better, i.e., Mission Accompished. Pacquiao* is KTFO. Marquez is Better . . . Viva Marquez! Neither were defined, but once they got on the juice they were all cut up. Fernando Vargas was busted after his sudden physical transformation before fighting Oscar only because his advisers weren’t adept at beating the test. Marquez has the guy who juiced up Tim Montgomery and Maurice Green so he knows what to do. Posted December 9, 2012 1:27 pmBoxingAgree! Amazing it’s like it didn’t happen. Posted December 9, 2012 1:22 pmJoelMTLIt was really disturbing to see Pacman go down like that … I did not see that coming (neither did he obviously). It’s always a bit sad to see heroes fall like that. Congrats to Marquez on his well deserved win. Also props to Pacquiao for taking this like a man. I hope we recovers well. End of an era Posted December 9, 2012 1:12 pmzdrxshameless floidiots are celebrating as if it was their idol who destroyed pacman. pathetic. hey, ladies and girls… before you jump with joy like monkeys…your idol is a coward who would rather hide behind JMM’s apron strings than face pacman. congratz JMM…with heredia around…i hope you’re clean. LOL Posted December 9, 2012 1:09 pmboxxmanKU99 good point…but floyd was coming of 2 yrs of inactivity…anyway marquez cannot beat floyd… thats not even a fight that would sell… floyd might just stay retired…. i wanted to see pac vs floyd…but now it just doesn’t have the same appeal Posted December 9, 2012 12:57 pmboxxmanand as far as JMM being clean.. the punches that drop pac were 2 shots he didnt see coming…he walked right into the one in round 6 and from the angle he came in the weight transfer wouldve knock any fighter out period!!! lets not go into the ped talks again…pac dosnt like to talk about ped!!! Posted December 9, 2012 12:53 pmKU99For anyone comparing this Marques to the one Floyd faced….you all are retarded. JMM had just moved up 2 divisions to fight Floyd. Last nights JMM had years to acclimate to the new weight….he introduced a new wrinkle to his preparations in Memo and he’s never looked better. Floyd would probably still beat JMM….but I 100% gurantee it wouldn’t look like it did back in 2009. Juan would knock out a few corners that made the fight A LOT more competetive…Maybe even better than what Miguel was able to accomplish against Floyd. Posted December 9, 2012 12:53 pmFight AficionadoErik Morales, in a Tweet he later deleted: “The Mexican pharmacy was better.” Posted December 9, 2012 12:52 pmKU99Incredible fight and incredible KO for Juan. I’m very happy for Juan and finally getting a definitive win over Manny. I thought Juan was DONE in round 5…he was hurt, dropped twice and eating a bunch of straight lefts. Round six he was in retreat mode and PAC was closing in for the KO….JMM stayed composed and weathered the storm to find a perfect counter right that slept Manny. I had PAC winning and controlling the fight until the KD. This may have been the shortest fight out of all 4, but it was the BEST! PAC may never be the same after a KO like that….but if JMM is willing to give PAC another shot…I’d be glad to see what happens in the 5th installment of JMM vs PAC. Terrific fight by both men and congrats to Juan! YOU THE MAN! Posted December 9, 2012 12:49 pmboxxmanWhen floyd came back and fought Marquez yrs ago…marquez was TOO old… all the pactards where saying marquez is garbage floyd fighting an old man….now that the same old marquez KO pacman….who is old now??? Floyd completely murdered marquez…. was not even close…. i can only imagine what he would do with pac… marquez is a good counter puncher but floyd is on another level…. the thing i like with marquez is that he’s a brawler counter puncher a very dangerous thing to do but perfect to beat pac……. pac lost to bradely and marquez twice … its bybye now Posted December 9, 2012 12:48 pmTitopaI’m so proud!! The rest is history… Pacquiao-Marquez 5 is better than anything at this point Posted December 9, 2012 11:55 amIvanThere was some poetic justice in the way the fourth episode ended. After three ‘flip a coin” matches, this one was beginning to look one-sided. Pacman was definitely ahead and Marquez’s face was so busted up and bleeding it looked he would have to quit – until the last second explosion. It was no fluke, Marquez had already landed several of those flush bombs. Pacman’s jaw was “softened” by at least five big right hands and he had warmed up for the KO with a knock down. He refused to see the last one coming. So Marquez made up for the three controversies and avenged for all the fellow Mexican boxers who lost to the “Mexicutioner”. Posted December 9, 2012 11:51 amStanioMarquez is getting old ….Im a fan of him and I am very very happy with the outcome …but I could not acknowledge that he was getting beat up pretty badly. If I compare him to his previous fight with Manny …he was putting better performance overall in that fight…. but it is understandable at the age of 39 for such weigh category to have some deterioration. I definitely don’t want to see them fight for a fifth time …. Both great fighters …great warriors ! Now if Marquez retires ….it will be perfect career finish for him ….what a knockout ….great timing …but it is time to go. Onearmbanditsorry for the typo errors…flipping key board! Posted December 9, 2012 11:29 amOnearmbanditAs I repeatedly said yesterday – Manny was going to lose. I believed this because it was obvious by is weight that he had not trained how hesould have. However, after seeing the fight it didn’t matter anyway. All the training in the world won’t help when you get hit like that. A sad sight indeed to see Pacquiao sparked like that sadness is eased by Marquez’s moment. If ever someone deserved to be vindicated – he did. I do believe he won the 2nd fight and probably the third too so he fully deserves this. I would like to see a 5th fight as a sort of final, once and for all finisher (haven’t we heard that one before!) but I just think Marquez has his number. Always has. Forget the Floyd fight, Manny has no chance of winning and I do not want to see Floyd get the satisfaction of proving it. The Manny that beat Cotto, Hatton et al would have given Mayweather serious problems – but he no longer exists. Posted December 9, 2012 11:27 amNachoPAC MAN = GAME OVER!! He is broken goods now….
