Alright, alright, alright, Putzadamus! I’ll let it go and say you made “ONE prediction” rather than two.

And, now I’m going to use your reasoning. I am going to make one prediction: Mayweather will win his next fight by UD or by SD, or by punishing SD, or by dominating UD (talk about redundant), or by stoppage, or by KO, or by sucker punch, or by incompetent judges, or by an incompetent ref, or by bribery.

There! Just one prediction!

Posted December 11, 2012 7:08 pm

Hidalgo

“Because I only made ONE prediction. Marquez by stoppage or PUNISHING SD and I was CORRECT!!!”

LMAO! Nope! You made two guesses: 1. Marquez by stoppage. 2. Marquez by PUNISHING SD.

Putzadamus, you just restated your two “predictions.” How you get one out of that is only in your mind. See, that little word “or” makes your “ONE prediction” two.

C’mon putz, you can count to two can’t you?

“But you can’t find where i said UD ANYWHERE” I can, Braggadamus : In the thread under the article “Pacquiao vs. Marquez IV: Firmly on the Fence, by Paul Strauss, Dec. 6, 2012. Here’s your post, cut and pasted:

you know, my prediction on a TKO win by Marquez was primarily based on the guarantee and hope that Pacquiao* would pressure Marquez who is responsible for one of the more interesting matchup dynamics in Boxing. pressure fighters actually do good v. Marquez, only be crunched-up and KTFO. however, usually not before they manage to exploit Marquez’s less-than-airtight defense for cuts, bumps, and KDs but Marquez overcomes all that with his combustible inside and counter game. one of the many reasons that Mayweather was successful v. Marquez is that he allowed the smaller Marquez be the aggressor and walk in to His counters. conversely, guys like Diaz, Katsidis, and i’m going to go way back and include a tough s.o.b. named Terdsak Kokietgym, paid a very high price of admission to charge Marquez and be introduced to every punishing punch in Boxing’s arsenal. Btw, Roach can’t escape blame for that huge strategic blunder. he allowed his pride and ego to overcome common sense. otherwise, since when did KOing Marquez become the one and only fight-plan? Freddie has consistently erred in favor of Marquez slipping while (based on the KDs) he’s only gotten better each and every time. this time it cost them everything that used to be. nothing will ever be the same in that camp or what’s left of it.

HIDALGO, true that. we were already grateful for the 3rd-round KD but the actual KO was too good to be true. our cheering was mixed with equal amazement that was beyond “the rivalry”. this will be remembered along with Hagler v. Hearns in terms of “where were you” among fight-fans. the text messages were circulating thick and heavy for hours afterwards. in fact, within an hour, one with a picture of Manny on the canvas began circulating with the caption of “how many Mexicans does it take to KO Pacquiao? . . . Just Juan” (lol). pretty clever but this KO transcends the rivalry, which is good for Marquez, which is good for Boxing.

Sergio Martinez has experienced a similar rejuvenation as Marquez with almost identical results. i haven’t heard any sustained outcry about his sudden ability to KO a fighter previously known for his durability and Martinez’s nickname isn’t even “Dinamita”(?!). that’s Marquez who Mexicuted the “Mexicutioner” with a perfectly-timed Punch that made it seem as if Manny* had been shot. seriously. from behind the dude looked like he just took a slug directly to the head. he Dropped that hard and fast. face-first into the canvas. no writer; no director; no producer could’ve scripted and choreographed a more perfect and convincing KO. it’s top-5 of All Time. it was legacy-defining. as in that is how Pacquiao* will be remembered for all time . . . Happy Holidays! . . .

“but as of now its over he was facedown against a fellow GREAT fighter who was 39, it was NOT a good look” Yeah, you just had to throw that in there didn’t you SRedmond? Tell us all how wonderfully you have “defended” Pacquiao in the past then throw in that little smear at the end. Whatever. You know as well as anyone else that Marquez is in the best shape of his life right now. The guy looks like a little hulk and he boxed incredibly on Saturday night. So did Manny Pacquiao until he made his mistake. Spare us with trying to denigrate Pacquiao–or Marquez’s win– even further by pointing out how “old” Marquez is. Marquez kicked Pacquiao’s butt with sheer determination, skill, and power. It was the fight of the year hands down. BTW, Age was sitting ringside watching.

“dont know where you got the UD from. Mustve been fooled by one of MY Name Groupies…”Apparently my reasoning is right on, Braggadamus, because you understood exactly the meaning of what I was trying to say. As for where I got the UD from–YOU! “Marquez by UD.” Very next day you posted Marquez by “stoppage or punishing SD.” Listen dude, all we know is that we see posts with your nick on it. If you hadn’t made so many enemies on ESB with your immature and annoying bragging you would have “Name Groupies” messing with you. But all I know is I saw YOU make three guesses and lucky you one of them was correct. BTW, I predicted UD by Marquez. So according to YOUR reasoning I was RIGHT once again! Just because Marquez won. Therefore you are NOT the greatest fight prophet ever born. Greatest guesser, yes. Prophet, hardly. You are afraid to make one choice and stick to it. If you get hit full force coming in lunging like that that’s what happens. Unfortunately Pacman was off balance when he got hit so his arms were low when he fell. When Pacman’s face fit the canvass it made it worst. There’s no more to it than that.

Of course Marquez was stronger, he trained to be stronger… AGAIN I know alot of you guys are out of shape slugs who never built muscle or sought greater strength or stamina but it can be done especially by a PRO athlete who works for one goal…. Marquez entire life became beating Manny and he accomplished his goal… I have defended Pac against unfair, unproven PED accusations and I will do the same for Marquez because excellent performances don’t mean you are juicing… Manny got his brain jarred, and that can happen to ANY man if he is caught just right….No need to be bitter, the Pac Man express has been derailed possibly for good…It was a GREAT ride, but as of now its over he was facedown against a fellow GREAT fighter who was 39, it was NOT a good look

Why is noone mentioning the fact that Manny walked through Cotto’s punches but was repeatedly hurt by the much smaller and lighter punching Marquez? Btw, Ariza is not surprised at the results of Angel Hernandez’s training-regimen for Marquez: “I don’t understand how that should be shocking,” Ariza said. “[Marquez] had a strength coach, an educated one, one with credentials, and that’s what happens when you follow your guy’s program . . . that’s what happens for three months when you get up at 4:30 in the morning, do your strength and conditioning, you eat right, you train right, you focus on that, and that’s what he did”. of course, for better or worse, Ariza and Hernandez are birds of a feather just that Pacquiao’s* fanboys and several “experts” didn’t mind when only Pacquiao* was benfiting from their expertise.

“. . . while Juan stayed focused, Manny didn’t. Juan was counting on that based on his experiences from three previous fights–especially the last one. Pacquiao was clearly winning the fight until he got careless. Juan knew he would”. preCisely. Marquez made it clear that he was preparing to not leave the verdict to the judges scorecards and was counting on Pacquiao’s* carelessness to complete his mission. the final verdict would be based on which fighter had more stars circling their head. that fighter was Pacquiao* who ended up with a star-studded crown circling his head as he lay face-first in the canvas.

Hidalgo, Marquez could train for 1000 years and he is NEVER going to beat Floyd Mayweather… That fight was NOT even close, I am a HUGE Marquez fan but it pains me to say he was NOT in Floyd Mayweathers league at all…. You said, “he only fought Mayweather once” Newsflash that is what happens when you lose 12-0 get knocked down, land only 12% of your punches while your opponent lands close to 60%…. Nacho told him to “end with dignity” translation don’t get knocked out while we endure this embarassment…. Being stronger is not going to make Marquez a match for Floyd that is an easy fight that NO ONE wants to see again…. Froch is not even considered a good rematch for Ward and he actually won a few rounds…. This matchup makes NO SENSE, just because Manny got poleaxed.

“I know JMM fans are roaming the streets still salivating after the KO, but using this guy shouldn’t have been allowed. He was busted by the Federal Government, so why allow this guy into a sport?” This is a sensible, legit argument. But I can answer the question: Hereida was allowed into the sport because he was never convicted of anything. Hereida snitched and got off scot-free. And, Manny’s camp never protested, nor did anyone protest–formally at least and before the fight– Hereida training Marquez. Freddie Roach knew who Angel Hereida was. He could have pulled out of the fight. But Bob Arum talks and so does money. And, so does Manny Pacquiao who truly thought he would definitively beat Juan Manual Marquez.

Happyboy- You’re right, my man. It’s healthier to think our heroes are doing it the right way, even in the face of unusual circumstances and with “heroes” falling left and right. Both these guys can be suspected of wrongdoing because the feats they’re accomplishing in the way that they’re doing it almost seems above us mere mortals. But both these guys have demonstrated a level of class in and out of the ring that makes me hope they’re legit and give them the benefit of the doubt. I did the same for Mark McGuire and Lance Armstrong, BTW:).

packi has aged, and that;s part of the game. that marquez rejuvenated himself with pride at a late age is remarkable. when two old lions fight, one is going to prevail, no matter what spin the judges put on it. the talk of drugs, hype, and other spin may be relevant, but there are always a bunch of variables in the ring: but will to win is the trump card.
dissing roach, proclaiming juice, and arum hype are all marginal. marquez is the purer warrior with the better skills. he should have a few money making fights, then hang em up. he never had the pr like some others, and did suffer from trash mouth. both guys were

all the fight post mortems will reflect every point of view and be subject to monday morning quarterbacking. for all it’s faults and corruption, boxing is still a sport with an unknown outcome when fair, and two men fight with different options at stake.
people didn’t pay to see a given. Paci has declined, Marquez somehow pumped himself up physically and moral wise, and the results were manifest. We thought this fourth fight was going to be stale leftover rehased goulash, but it turned out to be a great fight with historic reverbs. Every comment, even contradictory ones seem to have merit.
the fights on line in this column are almost as much fun as what happens in the ring.

This is what 1 year of intense training does to your body, I’m telling you anyone who has the will can get an upper body like this. I put on about 25 pounds in 1½ year without juicing anything. It’s a matter of training and eating. If I had Alex Ariza or Hernandez as my strenght coach, I’d be even more shredded. It has NOTHING to do with peds, Marquez did not juice neither did Pacquiao. Ignorant people should stop saying PEDS, even Berto and Peterson did not take PEDS that would improve their fighting ability. The current problems in boxing is fighters moving up and down in weight over night, they are taking drugs to loose weight, they are not taking them to gain weight. This is the problem the sport should look at, stop the catch-weight system it sucks!

Funny how Marquez’ rise in musculature screams of PEDs, and yet any suggestion of PED involvement in Pacquiao’s own gains in power, speed, endurance AND durability as he rose through the weight divisions is unthinkable.
Seriously guys, do you even think before you talk/type? I’m not claiming Marquez is clean, but damn… Pacquiao, his team, his fans… NONE of you have the right to be calling another fighter dirty when your own guy dodges hardline drug testing like plague.

Angel Hereida (PED Supplier to Olympians) not have been involved in any way. Angel He saved his ass by snitching out others in the BALCO scandal, and even stated how he did it, and how there were plenty of ways to mask the them. I know JMM fans are roaming the streets still salivating after the KO, but using this guy shouldn’t have been allowed. He was busted by the Federal Government, so why allow this guy into a sport? JMM never had power like this. before and never had his upper torso shredded like did. Boxing needs to have the most thorough testing around or guys can possibly cheat. If JMM tested clean then so be it. He won, and should get credit, but it’s high suspect watching him train live at different camps. Mariods is noticeably bigger for a guy that was smaller than Manny before. His power was a heavyweights not a welterweight. lets see the test results asap

this is the greatest moment in mexico’s boxing history…REDEMPTION!!! this is the result of JMM’s bravery in mexico’s name. therefore this celebration is exclusive for mexico. this victory is not for the cowards…therefore, floidiots has no right to piggyback on mexico’s triumph. they should not even be allowed to rejoice or even be happy. bums and losers and other floid minions….OUT!!!

Everybody makes mistakes and deserves a second chance. If his Strength coach did something wrong in the past; that’s where it’s at; in his past. I don’t feel like what happened Saturday had anything to do with any PED’s. Marquez in many ways always had Pacman’s number; he just CASHED IN BIG on Saturday. Congrats and God bless him.

no excuses, JMM has always showed to be better than Pacman, is matter of styles, period. Manny was completely out-focused

Boxing is a game of skill and WILL….Marquez proved to want it just a little more than Manny did… I can’t stand it when peeps can’t show love for the winner..in this case Marquez. Many is not by any means finished…in fact he might have about 5 pretty solid years left. Manny will be back and that’s a fact. More doors will open for Marquez, as well as more well deserved moneys. Let’s just sit back and thank the heavens that we witnessed greatness….just can’t understand why people can’t give credit where credit is DUE. Now, let’s just sit back and see if Golden Boy will be able to work with Top Rank once and for all so we can get Marquez vs Rios!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…… just sayin’

Funny because Manny looked big in the 3rd fight and after he fought Floyd, Marquez started lifting weights to try and get bigger. Not to mention many people are saying that Marquez was training very hard, harder than they have before. And also Pac weighed more than Marquez

I am starting to think maybe Pacquiao stopped juicing the nearer a fight with Mayweather was getting. it would explain the recent lack luster performances and his sudden lack of punch resistance.

As much as I’d like to disagree with the 3 posters below I can’t. JMM looked so much bigger than pac man and showed power not seen by him before. Shame

I’m really fed up with the allegations that JMM used PEDS to prep for Manny Pacquiao. Unfortunately, boxing alone has itself to blame for the power of unsubstantiated allegations. For if Olympic style testing were mandatory, even though disgruntled fans might still b*tch, the fighters’ reputations would be more secure.

39 years old with more power, muscles and reflexive capacities can only mean PEDS, whether delivered via transdermal gel (now the prefered way with testo to mask suppression by designer anabolics), injectable (epo, which must be tested on JMM stored urine samples), or parenteral……one look at JMM transformation is presumptive evidence of PEDS, his performance is practically proof of it.

JMM won with PEDs. 3 bouts before he didnt have close to the strength that he has now. He hits like a middleweight now
