First, I would not be surprised in the least if JMM used PED’s. However, Pac fans have to be intellectually honest. When the argument was made that Pac used PED’s, they argued the proof was he never tested positive and that the athletic commissions knew how to catch cheaters. It is now disingenuous for them to make that argument then and discard it now. I would not be surprised if JMM suspected Pac of doing it and went out and did the same. But, people point to his physique as being the point of suspect. That’s murky for an argument. It isn’t as if JMM was blasting full fledged WW’s suddenly. It very much is within the real of possibility to transform a physique to gain muscle with diet and exercise. Most of it is predicated on muscle confusion techniques. The irony about the concern for PED use by Pac or his fans is that they are seemingly unaware of all their extensive arguments as to why he wasn’t, why it was slander/libel and reasonable to sue, why it was reasonable not to test, etc. You can’t cry now. You guys insisted it be this way. You got your wish.

Your overrated and overprotected Pacquiao was just defeated (again) in a big way, by a 39 year old veteran, way past his prime, and way past his weight by the name of Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao clearly lost fights 2 and 3, yet Arum’s judges gave the fights to Pacquiao, for reasons we all know. Great fighters fight and defeat other great fighters….Pacquiao has and will never do that. He has defeated a bunch of nobodies like Hatton, Diaz, Lucero, etc. and washed up fighters like DLH, Mosely, Cotto, Margarito, etc. What a joke! A prime DLH would’ve trashed Pacquiao in 4 rounds. It’s all over! Maybe in 100 years or so, the philipines will have another descent fighter who will beat washed up fighters with great names, and people can call him “great”, and the “pound for pound king” lol

There is a very old saying in chess: “The champion is always lucky.” Please take a few moments to digest this.
Let me list some greats past and present in various sports who at one point in time have been called “lucky”:
Diego Maradonna, Rocky Marciano, Mohammed Ali, Roger Federer, Michael Jordan, Arnold Palmer, Michael Scumacher, Valentino Rossi, Tiger Woods, Carl Lewis to name a few. At various times each time they were winning, critics said judges were biased to them, the pitch or weather was favourable, an opponent was sick, disqualifies, unavailable or the general level of opposition was not good enough, they cheated, etc.
As at yesterday in Phillipines, Pacquiao’s mother said he lost because he left the Catholic faith and became a Protestant!
My point is: Lucky punch, carelessness, imbalance, analyze all you want and it all does not matter—–Pacquiao lost after lying unconcious for TWO minutes. The records will forever show that he lost by knock out. All these excuses hold no water. Marquez won this fight.

It does not do Pacman’s legacy any good with these sort of insinuations, afterall, there are a lot circulating about him using PED and growth drugs too. What goes around, comes around.
Come on guys, man up and accept the fact that Pacman got knocked out. At least give some credit that after 4 fights, maybe JMM would have at least learnt something about Pacman. It just is not honourable for ignorant fans like us to demean someone’s victory because our favourite lost. Leave that to people who actually make money from the insinuations: the promoters and the boxers.

Steve, how can you insinuate that JMM used anything illegal for this fight? Any failed tests? Any proof?….I guess not. Just a typical sore fan who cannot accept that his hero lost. Listen, it does not matter whether Manny was careless, JMM threw a lucky punch, flashbulbs blinded Pacman, or if he thought the round was over….the punch that KO’d him came from JMM (not from outer space), landed on Manny’s face, and he was out for 2 minutes. Even boxers greater than Pacman will ever be have lost, NOBODY can win forever. Grow up.

I disagree with the writer as well. From what I have seen from Pacman; in many cases; his offense is his defense. The problem with that approach is that it can get you in trouble when your in there with an EXTREMELY GOOD COUNTERPUNCHER; and Marquez is ONE OF THE BEST WHEN IT COMES TO THAT CATEGORY. As in all of their previous three stanzas; he waited on Pacman to respond so that he could counterpunch. Pacman from what I saw in this fight did what he said he would do and in most cases do; he was putting pressure on Marquez. But for a split second there; he went in and attacked and was wide open for a counter; and Marquez cashed in on it. That’s it!!!!!

Pacquiao got careless and got knocked out. Simple as that. This writer knows very little about boxing. Both fighters have fought more than 60 fights. They are both ATGs. In their fights against each other they are even as far as compubox numbers goes and in all honesty as far as the fights have played out.
Watch Pacquiao make adjustments throughout basically every fight he’s fought. Watch him go to war with Margarito in the second round only to outbox him for the next 8 rounds. Reading statements like “Pacquiao’s entire fighting style … has been one of fighting out of control” makes me question whether or not the writer knows even the basics about the sport of boxing.

It makes total sense take nothing away from marquez he won . its not a excuse it the reason why pacman lost . when pacman was boxiing and using head movement moving in and out he was winning the fight and looked good . Pacquia looked to fast for marquez .He hurt marquez bad in the round he was koed in .Pacman saw how he was busting up marquez and over estamated his own punching power or under estimated marquez toughness. In his haste to ko marquez pacqua ran in to a right hand and was koed .. .like yogi bera said it aint over till its over and pacaquia lost because he ran into a badly hurt marquez trap he lost because he was koed

It makes alot of sense and since Nacho has been trainning for 1000 years and is just uas cunning as Roach he concentrated on exactly what Manny does when attempting to finish off an opponent and they laid a trap. Simple. Manny is very predictable, you hit him with a good body shot – he takes both hands and punches his body as if to say good shot., Catch him upstairs and he bangs both gloves together and waves guy in as if to say good shot but it didnt hurt. So as he goes to finish a guy he jumps in with a lunging stye and his left very low. You can see it J-U-S-T before the KO shot. Look back at every fight of his and you’ll see what I mean and I’m not a trainer. As far a growth goes, Marquez has been working on muscle build-up LONG before this fight, he looked bigger last fight and actually began with a strenght trainer for Floyd! So this ain’t no sensational overnight growth spurt, he has just now learned to utilize it and built speed. Nothing murky here folks.

Take a careful look at the knockout punch just seconds before it was delivered, Marquez was anticipating & Timing Manny’s jab before he threw the right hand. Look I am a big fan of both fighters Especially Manny, but it is what it is. And the fact that you think it was a lucky punch did not and will not change the end results!!!!

Some fans just can’t accept what they see. Hardly a lucky punch a trap was set and Pac fell into it. Let a fifth fight happen, I’m sure it’ll be the same outcome. Marquez always catches Pac with great counters now he just realizes he has to fully commit to try for a KO. Let them fight 10 more times, surely 7 of them would end in the same way. Though Pac knocks Marquez down he never truely hurts him. Now on the other hand we see Marquez can HURT Pac.

Why is that an excuse? He DID throw caution to the wind in trying to take Marquez out when he marched onto that humdinger of a perfectly timed right hand. It happens – this is BOXING.
