With all the proof I have on Marquez using peds, I’m going to write a book about it. It will be the size of a dictionary!! Marquez cheated, his conditioning coach has a friend that is fronds with a brothers causing that is a sister of another mother and gave birth to this guy that has been proven to cheat. This my friends is SOLID proof Marquez cheated.

Spectacular fight! Real warriors! Harkens back to the days of Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Leonard! Guys willing to lay it all out there! Only boxers that are willing to take on the best should be included in a conversation of who’s best! Marquez & Pacquiao both qualify. As for the fight, the most amazing aspect was not the punch. It was Marquez’s resilience and determination. The guy ate a lot of leather while waiting to pop the death blow! Pacquiao deserved that for trying to finish a great fighter via Amir-Khan style!

We need a MarPeds vs Pedquiao no holds barred 5th fight where each can oppenly use as much Steriods as their Bodies can handle.. Both guys have been Juicin for years… so why not just let them Juice up to their hearts content and let them go at it.. Battle of the Peds Bots..

Anybody that accuses Marquez of PED use is just bitter and depressed.Marquez offered to take the test, Pacquiao did not want to take the test…so just shut the hell up amd swallow that thing on your throats. Pacquiao knock down of round 3 was just a warning of great things to come.

I’ts all over kids. Your overrated and overprotected Pacquiao was just defeated (again) in a big way, by a 39 year old veteran, way past his prime, and way past his weight by the name of Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao clearly lost fights 2 and 3, yet Arum’s judges gave the fights to Pacquiao, for reasons we all know. Great fighters fight and defeat other great fighters….Pacquiao has and will never do that. He has defeated a bunch of nobodies like Hatton, Diaz, Lucero, etc. and washed up fighters like DLH, Mosely, Cotto, Margarito, etc. What a joke! A prime DLH would’ve trashed Pacquiao in 4 rounds. It’s all over!

Peterson took PEDS, it’s confirmed, why do they say Khan has lost his last 2 fights, like it’s Khans fault that Peterson is a PED junkie, he lost against Garcia, knocked out by a well timed left hook.

Lamont Peterson was training on PEDS for the Khan fight, don’t mention confirmed PED users, Khan did not lose against Peterson, stricken from the record books.

As far as I can tell, the only ones who should be disappointed are those fans who bet and lost more than they could afford to lose. For any other fight fan, it was a fantastic fight that took two highly talented opponents trying their utmost to win at any cost. Given that, how can anybody except he who bet and lost what he could not afford to lose, be sad or disappointed? Would Manny’s fans rather that he had cast aside his trademark style and perhaps have reenacted what Amir Khan did against Lamont Peterson? I think not. Once again, thank you Juan and Manny for providing the best fight possible.

Marquez is already a GREAT boxer!! A 3 division Champion who is the ONLY guy to compet with PAC since Erik Morales did.. We watched Manny destroy HOFers like Barrera, Morales, ODH, Cotto but ONE guy kept getting in his way stirring things up? And then he put him down like a horse with a broken leg.. JMM will never eclipse PAC or May in terms of popularity but he is a sure fire ATG after this win and the Career he has had… Only man to unquestionably beat Marquez was the BEST fighter of the Era FMJ…

Posted December 12, 2012 9:11 pm

Maybe now Pac should try to sue Marquez for too early a KO! He can complain & protest that it should have come later in the fight!! Arum has probably investigated the matter, found a loophole, and has proceeded towards litigation! Or better yet, Pac can tell his ever-lovin’ fans that the ONLY reason why he hasnt taken the much BETTER form of DRUG TESTING – TO THIS DAY is because “Mayweather has never agreed to fight me yet!” His adorers will eat that up faster than the arcade version of their idol. Roach could have cleared the whole situation up by declaring stringent testing for BOTH sides! Instead he chose to berate. Marquez simply berated with his FISTS…..King Marquez has SPOKEN!!!

The Prince

SREDMOND – Boxing fans have always been extremely biased for their chosen boxer against other boxers. It’s part of the sport. I’m not surprised at all that many Pacquiao fans were defending him when the accusations of using PEDS came up, but are now accusing Marquez of using PEDS after their hero lost in such a brutal way to him. Just like when a boxer fights dirty – depending on his popularity – fans will either call it out, or defend it. That’s how it goes. I’m not even surprised that you can’t hardly find one article praising Marquez for his win, but can find plenty of articles with sob stories about how sad and unfair it was that Manny lost and got knocked out. Because the media also chooses their favorite fighter for marketing and cashing in. It’s part of boxing politics.

Posted December 12, 2012 5:45 pm

The WORST thing going on is that guys WANT Marquez or Pacquiao to be dirty! They are NOT really fans of boxing… What pleasure can be derived from smearing the boxers of our generation? guys who NEVER came up dirty to date…. Honestly its SAD and a perversion of what this sport is all about…If you love the sport you should give the benefit of the doubt to long time professionals in the absence of proof…. Is this the NEW normal?? If a guy lands a crushing KO blow are we immediately going to start accusing him of cheating? Are guys so bored that the action and results are not sufficient there has to be a conspiracy attached to everything?? History was made on Saturday, one of the GREATEST rivalries in boxing history was possibly concluded and the only thing you guys can do is talk about how sculpted JMM was…???? Its clear many guys on here do NOT REALLY like boxing..

…i agree, and it could also be said the opposite is true;it could be that Pacquiao felt the pressure of the scrutiny from Floyd’s camp regarding PEDS and somehow perhaps that explain his sudden lack-luster performance from his previous fights(Marquez 3,Bradley and now Marquez 4)…who knows!!

If Zahir Raheem and Joan Guzman are so terrific then why are they NOBODIES relative to the top dogs? Neither man should be mentioned in the same breath as a Mayweather, Pac or Marquez… Guzman spent years unable to make weight and Raheem is a power deficient slickster who faded from relevance….Pacquiao won in a solid 7 weight classes and became fighter of the Decade… Monday Morning Quarterbacking after a terrible loss is corny, same as it was with RJJ who dominated for 10 years…

Posted December 12, 2012 11:46 am

SREDMOND

Lets NOT get over the top, Pacquiao carved out an AWESOME career and getting bashed by Marquez does not negate that…As happy as I am for JMM he had to endure ALOT of abuse at the hands of Manny to finally get this win… Manny beat some terrific foes, Morales, Barrera, Marquez and now at close to 34 he really got his lights turned out… Marquez is NOT a perfect fighter and neither is Manny the ONLY guys that approach that level of flawlessness are the Wards and Mayweathers of the world and lets see where Ward is in another 7 years…. Pacquiao is a legend who took MASSIVE risks and fought EVERYONE, I love FMJ but lets be honest he did NOT rush to fight Pacquiao whereas Marquez fought him with testing or no testing, LESS money and all manner of concession… Pacquiao is a boxing legend and his willingness to face dangerous opponents is why he lost… He could have chosen Bradley instead!

Posted December 12, 2012 11:43 am

Hendo

For Pacman’s entire career, he NEVER learned to deal with a good boxer who was also good counterpuncher…thats Roach’s fault.
That is why Pacman never fought guys like Zahir Raheem and Joan Guzman and Nate Campbell way back at 130 and 135.
That is why he can never dominate a fighter like JMM, regardless of the weight. THAT is why Roach has ALWAYS been hesitant about a fight with Mayweather.
Roach even said himself that they convincingly have to beat JMM before they fight Mayweather.

(lol) KDs, cuts, broken noses, stalled rematches, different weight-classes, gloves, location, ring size, purse size, regardless of the unfavorable condition, Team Pacquiao* could not shake or discourage Marquez ffrom completing his mission of Mexecuting Pacquiao* . . . Viva Marquez!

Posted December 12, 2012 10:49 am

te tumbo

Btw, now that Marquez has destroyed Pacquiao* and Manny’s* worshippers can’t stop suspecting foul-play, perhaps they will now dare compel Pacquiao* to accept improved testing methods. after all, if Marquez “juiced” because he wasn’t tested, it’s because Pacquiao* has made a career of avoiding improved testing as if he had something to hide(?). conversely, Marquez is on public record: “ANY test. ANY time. I’ve got nothing to hide”. if only Punkuiao* had uttered those words three years ago, he would’ve only been outclassed by Mayweather rather than KTFO by “Champion of the Decade” Juan Manuel Marquez.

Posted December 12, 2012 10:45 am

the double-standards may be unavoidable now but they’ve been at play throughout this entire rivalry with St. Pacquiao* getting every benefit of the doubt while Marquez would be consistently stalled, sidelined, or ignored as IF he was no longer a player in the Pacquiao* equation. fortunately, Marquez became a ring-warrior on a Mission who never lost sight of his primary target Pacquiao*. Mission Accomplished . . . Viva Marquez!

Posted December 12, 2012 10:42 am

SREDMOND

Juan Manuel Marquez is perhaps the MOST resilient boxer of this era, he has been down MANY downs but never kept down nor hurt so badly he could not fight back… Diaz had him buzzed early in their first bout only to be worn down and clinically knocked out, Katsidis did the same thing with a hard KD and was later getting broken down with uppercuts and hard right hands, Mayweather dropped and ruthlessly dominated him but JMM was there at the final bell… Manny put this man down 5 times and NEVER could seal the deal!!! Reality is Marquez has NEVER been stopped in 60 professional contests!! The old adage get rid of your opponent before he gets rid of you must be painfully burned in Pac Mans brain, it took 8 years but Manny screwed up in 2004 when he did NOT end the nightmare named Juan Manuel Marquez in the first round…. What a terrific fighter and Champion, taking crap interim bouts to stay sharp….!!

Posted December 12, 2012 10:29 am

SREDMOND

There is NOTHING sad about the outcome of this fight!! I suppose all would be well with the world if it had been Marquez layed out flat on his face at 39 years old?? I am personally HAPPY for the sport of boxing because a main event between two elite fighters EXCEEDED expectations… We usually have to see, Brandon Rios, or Berto types in these back and forth pitched battles… How can you NOT feel good for Marquez? who had EVERY reason to give up and fade away… Instead he kept coming and fighting for short money, NOT getting the nod nor anything close to the accolades of Pacquiao… Marquez has NOW totally overtaken Barrera and Morales in the pantheon of Great Mexican fighters… Reality is that we found out that Marquez is FAR Greater than we had ever thought…

Nothing about how Marquez finally proved himself the better man and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest Mexican fighters of his era. Nope, instead we either hear about PED theories, a 5th fight for Pacquiao, or it doesn’t matter Mayweather still lost in the end, not Pacquiao, even though the two men didn’t fight. Horrible coverage now that I think about it.

First off; these two men had FOUR ENCOUNTERS for a reason; and that reason is because there was never a foregone CONCLUSION as to who was the best out of the two. Marquez has always GIVEN PACMAN ISSUES; and like my mom use to tell me; IF YOU PLAY WITH FIRE LONG ENOUGH YOUR EVENTUALLY GOING TO GET BURN. Pacman had other options; but he chose to take on someone who has always been a THORN IN HIS CAP; and this time Marquez happened to finally solve the puzzle. Give that man his credit and STOP with all this PED NONSENSE. You sore losers are SO TWO FACED. Many has faced his krytonite. If you watch the youtube clips, JMM has been practicing that shot for a long time and he really mastered it. It was sad to see my hero dropped like he was shot by a gun. However, this was the one guy JMM studied to beat and doesn’t prove that he is now top gun at 147. It just proves he can beat Manny and probably again and again.

yup, the idiot gangster is so dumb that he’s still a fresh fighter in boxing terms. He’s still going to make huge money in his next fight, and he’ll probably be facing someone who’s already taken10 fold the damage in the ring he has to this point. That gangster ins’t the smartest fighter out there is he?

As far as this fight goes…What s there to gauge? Whats the motivation for Pac? Three wins against Marquez… Getting paid…. Other things going on in Pacs life other than boxing… Basically everything to lose… Marquez had nothing to lose… three loses to Pac…. still getting paid… And while all this goes on you got an idiot Floyd doing nothing…sitting on the sidelines figuring who he can pick and beat, gangsta wanna-be punk! So whats this all add up to?…. Nothing…. Boxing sucks anymore!!!

Ring magazines updated pound per pound has Maywether #1
1. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (previously the No. 1 position was vacant; with No. 2 shared by Mayweather and Pacquiao. Obviously Pacquiao drops due to his KO loss)
3. Juan Manuel Marquez (Marquez was previously listed at No. 6, but has now jumped to No. 3 due to his devastating knockout performance)
7. Manny Pacquiao (The eight-division titleholder previously shared the No. 2 position with Mayweather, but due to his loss to Timothy Bradley and devastating KO to Marquez, he has dropped No. 7)

Well I like watching Floyd fight and obviously many other folks do also since he keeps breaking PPV records. If you don’t like him don’t watch. And Pac should of agree to the random testing to get the fight done. Like I said everything was agreed to back in 2010 but Pac didn’t want to take the random drug test. Sounds like he messed it up because as you see Floyd is still making money and he is making more money than Pac. And Pav vs Marquez 5 will do good business but neither fighter will see anything close to what Mayweather makes in a single fight

No, Mayweather just fights once in a blue moon, he will not be missed, and he should of fought Pacquiao, but he fkd it up, too interested in the money instead of fighting the best Boxers and risking his unbeaten record, not just Pacquiao,I only fight every now and again, I am money Mayweather, I disrespect everyone.

And Mayweather is considered the best or one of the top 5 at 130. So yeah go ahead and check boxrec. And the reason why fights with Freitas and Casamayor never came off is because at the time they where showtime fighters when showtime signed fighters. Thats why it was so hard for Lewis and Tyson to fight.

There wouldn’t of been a Pac trilogy with Floyd. Floyd would of toyed with Pac. I just laugh at how folks keep bringing up Floyd when he had nothing to do with Pac getting beat. Are folks angry that a smaller man that Floyd beat him?

Leonard was just as ridiculed as Mayweather when he was fighting. Both fans and boxing media didn’t give him credit for his biggest wins. Now he’s known as one of the greats. The same with Pernell Whitaker, Muhammad Ali, and many others. But history always vindicated them. Mayweather will be no different. People want to get on Mayweather for being a smart prize fighter. Leonard was one of the pioneers of maximizing his dollar every fight – something Sugar Ray Robinson originated, and I’m sure boxing media and fans even criticized him for it – In fact, I’m sure they did. Today, he’s known as the best to ever put on a pair of boxing gloves. Robinson was also very arrogant, just like both Ali and Leonard were. You can’t deny facts. Mayweather stayed undefeated during his whole prime. He beat top P4P ranked fighters at their comfort weight, after they accomplished their biggest wins. One of those wins was against Marquez. He made every top fighter look easy in the ring. He’s already one of the most studied boxers for up-and-comers and he’s not even retired yet. Even active professional boxers try to borrow and use one of Mayweather’s tactics in the ring. I don’t know if he’ll end his career undefeated. But even if he loses, it will be clearly because he is now past it and slowed down enough for someone to finally match him. not because he was never great to begin with. Floyd will end his career an ATG, and years from now, people will be talking about him, just like they talk about Robinson, Leonard, Ali, and many other boxing greats. Even today, you have people who try to hate on Muhammad Ali, but those people just get laughed at now.

Great article so very true, but I can’t get away from the fact that JMM was thicker set, more muscular, and more powerful at 39 years old than he was ever before and he was 4 pounds lighter and after 36 rounds of boxing never looked like knocking Pac Man out ever, you don’t acquire those attributes at 39 years old all of a sudden naturally, I appreciate the knockout punch with Pac Man coming in and the punch coming at him multiplied the impact but the first knockdown well JMM literally took him off his feet, something stinks just use your common sense look at his build, it is not sour grapes either if you play with knives long enough your going to get cut badly one day which happens to all boxers eventually, one last thing considering JMM was so hungry for revenge he didn’t exactly celebrate did he!!!?,

Only great fighters comeback from defeat to triumph. Pacquiao did not need to fight Marquez 4 timdes, but he did historically in weight classes 126, 130, 140, 147 never heard of. He already beaten Marquez twice, one draw, one defeat. No. It is worth a net 100m dollars. Mayweather can take his finger out his ass and smell it. No one will ever make what Pacquiao-Marquez 5 will bring. Mayweather stay aside, become a macho, not a nacho.

“I don’t see how you see that in Pacquiao, but not in Canelo?” TITOPA, you are drawing a false parallel. Pacquiao* is 33 and approaching the end of his career while Canelo is 22 and just starting. they are both at completely opposite stages of their respective careers. if Canelo retired with his current ring-resume, he’d be a joke, just like Pacquiao* would be if he had retired before he stepped-up to Barrera with his own 40-fight career but that’s not the case. considering the facts, you’re trying too hard to discredit Canelo.

Ok REM now the next question I have is since Pac was knocked down in the 3rd, could it be possible he just never fully recovered from that punch? No sadness here as Manny fought. I repeat, Manny fought, and fought competitively (even scoring a knockdown of Marquez). Manny did not run, hold, foul, or slack off throughout the entire fight. Fact, Mayweather did wantt the fight and the PED accusations came out after be beat Cotto. All he had to do was take the random test in 2010 and the fight could of been made. Everything else was agreed, even the split of the money which was 50/50. Pac didn’t want to. And then he would go and and keep saying the random drug test where fine but there needs to be a cut off date which of course wasn’t going to happen. Then he finally agreed or he said he agreed but then wouldn’t take the 40 mil that Floyd offered which is by the way the most money Pac would of made in any fight but he chose Bradley for what 5 or 6 mil and then ended up losing because he was only fighting for 30 seconds a round. All Pac had to do was agree to call Floyds bluff if Floyd didn’t really want the fight but he didn’t do it.

te tumbo – The way you feel about Pacquiao and his “resume” is the same way I feel about Canelo and his “resume”….which is being built on hand picked opponents to make them look good. I don’t believe that to be Pacquiao’s case, entirely, but some opponents were OBVIOUSLY hand picked for pure financial gain and popularity. I don’t see how you see that in Pacquiao, but not in Canelo? To me, it’s more so with Canelo, because Pacquiao at least fought titlist and champions, Canelo? Um. NO.

Posted December 11, 2012 8:57 pm

Pacquiao has always had a weak chin. This was proven in the lower divisions. It’s what made him stand out. He had a tornado offense, but vulnerable to being caught and KO’d. Toprank took Pacquaio in and matched him up brilliantly against fighters whose style complimented his. But when it came to Marquez, you saw the truth. Manny can’t handle boxers with elite skill sets. That brutal KO from Marquez was inevitable.

Posted December 11, 2012 8:56 pm

PEEJ – Because all of Pacquiao’s other opponents were scared of his power…NO ONE wanted to plant their feet and fight. But one man was willing, Marquez….and look at the results.

Well unfortuately pac did not agree to take all drug test or else he would of been able to fight Floyd back in 2010. Marquez to me looked like someone who took his job seriously and trained his butt off. Funny how all the Pac fans claimed his man was clean but yet would not take random test but now that someone has beaten him, they are now on steroids. Let not forget Pac rose from the lower divisions. He was also KOd at that lower division. So why is it that nobody has been able to hurt him now? So it is not crazy for Marquez to be able to KO Pac

Posted December 11, 2012 8:45 pm

“Manny agreed to take every test possible.” once again, WHERE?!? where can I find documented evidence of this development? otherwise, if it isn’t included in a signed contract, it is nothing but promotional hype to lure Mayweather into another round of pointless negotiating to eventually exempt Pacquiao* from random testing. “if you know Pacquiao, you can see his body frame is small, and he’s always cut”. AGAIN, check your FACTs: Pacquiao* outweighed Marquez and was the gorilla in the ring NOT Marquez. meanwhile, i’m not aware of any “notorious” transcripts regarding Heredia’s work with Marquez? but if he claimed to know how to beat standard testing, then Team Pacquiao* should’ve accepted Marquez’s challenge to accept “ANY test, ANY time” to confirm that wasn’t the case v. Pacquiao*. that is, IF Pacquiao’s* got nothing to hide. otherwise, yet another ball dropped by Freddie. he should’ve protected his fighter by insisting on the same improved testing that Team Punkuiao* rejected to face Floyd and collect a $50 million payday. Btw, if you know Marquez, you would know that his nickname is “Dinamita” and that increased firepower is not the best way to defuse a pile of Dynamite. Pacquiao’s* head was screwed-on backward and his fight-plan was fatally-flawed during the entire build-up to this fight. fortunately, Marquez SOCKED Pacquiao’s* inflated head back into place and we are now rid of the most corrupting element in my favorite sport. Thanks to “Champion of the Decade” Juan Manuel Marquez.

Marquez has always shown the ability to handle and defeat Pacquiao .I just think he was always worried about being knocked out. After having tasted the canvas 4x against the Filipino, Marquez felt there was no room for mistakes. BUT, this time around, after having “lost” 2 in a row to Pacman, Marquez decided that there is NO other way to win than to go in there and knock Pacquiao out! He threw caution to the wind and decided to stand his ground and throw his right hand like he meant it, knowing VERY well that he was/is the smarter fighter, Marquez used his precise timing (that was always present against Pacquiao) to land on an overly aggressive Pacquiao who NEVER saw the punch(es) coming. Marquez did what HE HAD TO DO!!! Now…let the man enjoy his victory, he DESERVES IT!

Te Tumbo, Manny agreed to take every test possible. And, if you know Pacquiao, you can see his body frame is small, and he’s always cut. He didn’t come into the ring looking like a Silver Back Gorilla. Those shoulders and Back scared the hell out of me. And then looking into JMM eyes, I noticed his forehead was as wide as three of Manny’s foreheads put together. He looked possessed as the usual roided up junkies do. The man was crazed out of his mind! Now, I’m not saying Marquez was on anything, just giving my input as I watched this gentle, used to be timid, 39 year old boxer that threw a right hand like a dam jack hammer and almost decapitated Manny Pacman Pacquiao. That’s all I’m trying to tell you. Add Angel Hereida to the mix and questions may arise. BY the way Te Tumbo have you read some of the famous transcripts from Mr. Hereida? Please do so, and you’ll know he passes his athletes.

Gravity has never looked so inevitable or overwhelming. the expressions of sheer horror on the faces of the 1% seated ringside was worth the price of PPV alone. of course, the most gratifying part of watching Pacquiao’s* face planted into the ring canvas was the vindication and sense of justice for the consistently slighted Marquez who never lost focus or faith in his ability to plant a crown of circling stars on Manny’s head. something that not even Ariza’s power shakes were able to accomplish for Pacquiao*.

How will Manny be fare his next fights and who against we will see, assumptions is what most people have, until his next fight no one can say anything, and even if Manny wins his next fight say against Rios most people will say oh he was not that much of a good fighter…we wait and see. As for Marquez I wont be surprised if he retires, perfect time to do so as he almost retired after the 3rd fight.

However after the way he won against Manny will the lure of a big pay day be too much since his stock has risen? Personally I think he should retire $6 million pocketed no need to carry on as so many boxers do e.g. Ali and Roy Jones Jnr. As for Manny he has nothing to prove from a Pac fan as much as I would miss him I would not be unhappy if he retired but I know this wont happen as he has a contract up to 2014 with Top Rank.

The tendency after one dies or is planted face-first into the canvas is to minimize or disregard their previous flaws and glorify every accomplishment no matter how mundane. I’ve always given Pacquiao* credit for being a game fighter and dangerous puncher. however, as a true fight-fan, i’ve always asserted an unmistakable degree of contempt for everything else that Pacquiao* represented as a promotional puppet of Arum’s, e.g.: refusing to grant Marquez a rematch and having the nerve to insist that the reigning champion was “pricing himself out”(?!); targeting a faded Morales coming off another loss and flat performance v. Barrera and still Losing(?!); waiting Four (4) F’n Years to confirm a second matchup v. Marquez then rejecting a rematch following the controversial decision in his favor; targeting the lesser-Diaz at 135lbs NOT J. Diaz, Casamayor, or Campbell who were the top dogs at lightweight at the time; the cynical catchweights and rehydration clauses to further handicap already faded veterans; his suspect and inexplicable rejection random and mutually-applied testing to face his primary P4P rival; the blatant disrespect he displayed towards Marquez by forcing him to accept a variety of unfavorable conditions to confirm a third matchup; and continuing disrespectful conditions and lopsided purse-sizes to FInally confirm the first rematch of their rivalry. IMO, Pacquiao’s* devastating KO loss at the fists of Marquez is nothing less than his overdue and just desserts. he’s made a fortune off of disrespecting and handicapping opponents and active legends alike and pissing on the sport itself with exotic conditions designed to tilt the playing field in his favor according to his promotional clout NOT actual ring-greatness. just because even I believe that Manny’s* a nice guy, there’s absolutely no reason whatsoever to glorify Pacquiao’s* suspect, cynical, and calculating but ultimately fraudulent “greatness” in my favorite Sport. if he insists on continuing, no more set-ups or exotic conditions that only favor him but more matchups v. equally-prime and dangerous opponents, i.e., the same manner with which Marquez was finally able to corner and and complete his mission by Mexicuting Pacquiao*

Pac doesn’t seem to be fully commited to training as shown in his weight in his last 2 fights. He is not 100% commited to boxing. If that is the case then he needs to hang them up. If he is going to be commited then he can keep fighting. But the fact is boxing is something that you must be 100% commited to or it will swing around and bite you hard

don’t think its embarrassing losing against Marquez by KO, after all this was the 4th fight between them. Also those boxers you mention were not easy opponents, we all know everyone was picking Hoya against the smaller Pac.

MayRunner can now take on Marquez or Trout…

Nowthat Paquiao has been knocked out flat on his face I think a rematch with Cotto who also lost his last fight would be nice…

I was wondering if Pac still has a hundred foking leeches on his entourage .

it was a great fight indeed, what I still can’t believe is Pac’s attitude, the guy is amazing giving the interview at the end, such a warrior being that humble though we all know he has all the money in the world!! I may add that I feel very happy for Marquez, he did what nobody expected at least not so soon in the fight, the round was ending and then BANG! game over. Both are legends.

How ironic Pacman made his name beating legends PAST THEIR PRIME or with their carreers coming to a end Barrera, Delajoya Morales, Mosley, Margarito after a 2 year layoff etc, And he was destroyed KO of the decade by Marquez allmost forty past his prime but the best counter puncher in history Pacman still in his prime at 34 now thats embaressing. HERO OR ZERO you decide?

most of these comments are nasty. too bad. it was a great fight, a great series, and two decent men who didn’t talk trash before or after. that’s how boxing should be, and when two aging lions fight, one is usually triumphant. that’s sport.

Hatton made the same mistake with Mayweather coming in with his hands down against a good counter puncher is suicide…

For thew pac-man fans they are going to be sore for a while probably years to come seeing there hero laid out on the canvas like that. Personally I dont see Manny coming back after a lost like that, It destroys a mans confidence much like Roy Jones after Tarver koed him he has never the same. I wouldnt call Manny a hero but he was one of the greats and I think his career as fighter is done, Marquez timed him and caught him after missing a straight right hand with his hands down Planted his feet and countered it was a perfect shot and very brutal Manny never seen it coming because fighters never made him pay for keeping his hands down most guys were just trying to survive, like Mike Tyson said you can do something a thousand times and one day Bam someone makes you pay for it….

Pactards Butt Hurt

In short, a SUPPOSED ATG in his prime gets KTFO by a FORTY year old fighter. The HERO doesn’t know what a counter is and lept face first into a counter which fell him in the 3rd, almost in the 5th and finally KTFO in the 6th. The HERO has no intelligence beyond that of a box of rocks. To make themselves feel better, butt hurt Pactards have to use words like “hero”, “sadness”, “regret”, “greatest fight” when in reality it was a smart aging boxer against an intelligence-challeneged brute.

Koa

Fallen hero from the perspective of a Pac fan, vindication for the Marquez fan and likely quite a few other boxing fans who have followed this rivalry through the years. Everything up until the knockout was stacked against Marquez, commentary was even talking about how much better Pac’s knockdown was in comparison to Marquez’. End of the day this is a storybook rivalry that will go down in the books, and in our memories as something very special.. Perhaps some of us aren’t seeing the forest for the trees.

Anonymous, your stupid comments – he’s always been clean unless proved otherwise.
PAC is already in the record books higher than FLOMO would’ve ever imagine.

Fighters lose it’s not a big deal, he lost fighting for the fans….RJJ, Bhop, etc all that matters is the fun and history he left that may never be repeated. Plus it’s nothing new for him he’s lost before.

The sad part is you have a indivual who is taking PEDS that is the sad part. Not so much Manny going down but the person that hit him JM. A conditioning trainer specialist like Angel Hernandez the best of them on Performance drugs provided the power that Jm needed for that Knock out win. That is the sad part
