TARK

He was a great guy… Just the same, he didn’t move Tarick Salmaci’s career along. I’m not saying it was out of vindictiveness — but he didn’t.

I never knew steward personaly. but really admired the guy for so many reason . I thought he did a great job as a commentator because of his boxing knowledge and his winning personality . also that stewad could keep his ego in check on the air they way many who accomplished much less then he did cant . but the fact that Tarick Salmachi who actually knew Many Steward as says he was a great guy means alot .Guess Manny was the kinda of guy I hoped he be

Tarick Salmaci revealed.., “Emanuel told me on a couple of occasions, ‘I never got over you not signing with me.” Steward was very bitter about that … He was hurt by Salmaci signing with Jackie Kallen—hurt and angry.. Jackie Kallen got Salmaci some fights, not a massive number of great fights, but at least got him fights..

When Steward later managed and trained Salmaci, Tarick barely got any fights.. Steward was generous to a fault but he expected Tarick to sign with him. Salmaci was undefeated for about 18 or 19 fights and then he lost a close one. His only loss was a SD loss but he wasn’t getting any fights at all—and I could never figure out what happened to him. He fought once a year at the most and then not for 3 or 4 years straight before he got picked for “The Contender” TV series … By that time he was rusted out completely. He was done.
