TARK

Somebody butchered my last two posts—combining them into one post and basically destroying the meaning of both of them…

If neither boxer is a big puncher—or neither is doing much damage with their punches—the guy who is scoring the greater number of punches should be winning the rounds.. It pays to be able to count when you’re scoring a fight.. If you can’t mentally keep track of the number of punches landed by each fighter hold a good sized notebook in one hand.. Without taking your eyes off the boxers put a dash every time fighter A scores a clean, effective punch and a slash every time fighter B scores a clean effective punch.. Once you’re good at this you can start making your slashes and dashes longer or shorter compared to the strength and effectiveness of the blows … This helps with close rounds.

Can’t understand how and why somebody criticizes Adamek!? Are you watching a fight!?
Adamek drop him three times score clear knockdowns, put constant pressure on Cunningham during the whole night!
Adamek clearly won this fight!

I really thought goral was for gore–like a bull.

I noticed your namesake (“roots”) is on bet this weekend–perhaps Kev should watch the show might help culturize him a bit–tough show for a honky to watch. My apologies for the way white people were in past.

Big brother started it and little brother will finish the nose–that is if he gets past Klubrat.

I don’t disagree with that verdict either. This fight was sort of like quantum physics–light can be both a particle and a wave at the same time. Adamek won this fight and so did Cunningspam.

Posted December 23, 2012 6:41 pm

Alonzo

That is a very agreeable scorecard.

HIs eye was swelling two full rounds before the headbutt–courtesy of left hooks. BJ and Roach didn’t notice or mention it till later.

Posted December 23, 2012 6:39 pm

Alonzo

I noticed that too–think it was from those Klit jabs

it was a close fight i thought cunningham was controling the fight and outboxing adamek but adamek did land some power shots i thought cunningham should of won i thought he won majority of the rounds the mistake of cunningham is going against the ropes and slugging with adamek when he didn have to even know he had some succes you can tell he was tired to but idk that boxing

Punches didn’t close Cunningham’s eye: a headbutt did. Swelling was controlled later and Cunningham came out looking like the winner he deserved to be made.

Adamek’s Trainer

“It all depends on what you were looking at,” said Adamek’s trainer, Roger Bloodworth. “If you looked at effective punching, which is what the judges saw, they would have give this to Tomasz. If you liked running and being a stylist, then you wanted Cunningham. I think the more effective puncher won this fight, and that was Tomasz.”

I had Adamek by one round. Lotta rounds he was the guy throwing harder shots. Good fight by both men. Either guy by no more than 2 rounds would be fine with me.

This wasn’t as controversial as people are making it out to be. This writer is very biased, I watched this fight twice already and it was close. Adamek landed harder punches and of the two others I was with they both thought it was a close fight. So if it is close, then it can do either way.

Posted December 22, 2012 11:36 pm

Dan

Did you guys see the same fight I saw? Adamek was the agressor, chased Cunningham the whole fight, got the better power shots in, in close rounds he got more power punches in at the end of the round (its called stealing a round) Cunninghams fight was short jabs, he got in a few good hard counter punches about three times and may have won those rounds but the rest of the fight belonged to Adamek. Doesn’t really matter because either fighter will get killed by Pulev but thats another story, the fight I saw had Adamek winning. Cunniungham got some good punches in and may have won three or four rounds if you want to be kind, but Adamek won this fight!!!!!!!

It can be seen again and again that the heavyweights do not necessarily have an advantage over the cruiserweights. The two weightclasses may well be put together.

That was a horrid decision. Adamek won maybe three rounds. Cunningham absolutely dominated him. But Adamek gets every decision. Eddie Chambers beat him with one hand and lost the decision.

once upon a time 205 to 210 was for the top of the line heavy’s. Not no more.

Anyone know what their purses were…hope they held hamer’s purse back!

I think Cunningham’s speed slowed Goral more than anything, and at 204 lbs, it stands to reason.

Posted December 22, 2012 9:17 pm

Luke

Maybe ur right but he’s still competitive and still cashing some decent checks.

Posted December 22, 2012 9:15 pm

Yes that and the extra pounds seemed to slow him. His speech didn’t sound slurred, thank goodness.

TARK

When a Pole fights an American in America — one might think the American could get a fair accounting. This is what happens when foggy headed nappers, who haven’t had their eyes examined for many years, and who never pulled on a boxing glove, score a fight.

Adamek already tried that—and didn’t win a single round—or even one minute of a single round … If Adamek fights the K Bros or Pulev there will be no more need for judges than there was the last time someone thought this could be a match.

Posted December 22, 2012 9:02 pm

Hamer…what a disgrace!! Fought competitive 3 outta the 4 rounds, had somewhat of a rough 4th and decided to leave it all on the stool!!

Posted December 22, 2012 9:02 pm

Despite having it a draw, USS’s ring generalship (or should I say admiralship) really outshone poor Goral. Goral who gored in a bull-like manner. USS really needed the money for his baby–that was the saddest–Goral had a title shot. USS fought in a similar manner as Vittles against Goral. The beating from Vittles and the extra weight musta really slowed Adamek down.

White was alright with Tor Hamer

Posted December 22, 2012 8:57 pm

I had the 11th and 5th or 6th even with a resultant draw. I still don’t understand the whole: “Wait a minute–the first judge changed their mind–to Adamek!” It woulda been better had the originally announced scores were left that way.

“Goral”. Translated to English is “Hillbilly.”
To do his best work he needed to win ugly, like a Hillbilly!
Now who doesn’t love a guy with an alias like Hillbilly?!!

Cunningham’s good work was pretty and classic type boxing….Adamek’s good work was ugly, hustle, get in a phone booth, and steal rounds kinda work…Cunningham’s work is generally more appreciated…nobody talked about what I think is the big story…Cunningham essentially fought this one as a cruiser weight (204 lbs), putting a higher premium on skill and quickness, and it worked, for most everyone but the judges…I think a draw may have been permissible, tho.

It could have gone either way here. No need to call this a robbery, though I kind of would have like cunningham to win to force a third fight.

If anyone thought Adamek won the fight, it’s like the blind leading the blind.

Posted December 22, 2012 8:25 pm

The Akbar One

Robbery of the year so far. Adamek won two or three rounds. He was lethargic, repeatedly got punched in the face by jabs and right hands. Repeatedly had his shots bounce off of Cunningham’s guard. What round did Adamek land more than 10 punches, using visual evidence of the round? Punch stats were off as usual.

Oscar De Ballerina

BS result i has USS 7-5..

Posted December 22, 2012 8:19 pm

Dan

Sorry, but I had Adamek winning, he was the aggressor, hit Cummingham with Heavier punches and won most of the rounds. I don’t see how anyone could have scored this fight for Cunningham who landed a few jabs and got in some good counter punches but ran from Adamek 90% of the fight.

Posted December 22, 2012 8:11 pm

Luke

I’ll take ur draw but I thought adamek won 12th…same score, different route…I thought their first affair was a draw too

Posted December 22, 2012 8:07 pm

Terri

I had it 115-115 a draw I gave Goral rounds 5-7-9-11 I gave Cunningham rounds 2-3-6-10 and I called even rounds 1-4-8-12 tell me what you think and I did not keep track of the score as to try and not lean one way or the other based on the score as it was being made.

Did Tor Hamer through out his shoulder or something? Or was it a wimpier version of “no mas”

Posted December 22, 2012 7:44 pm

michael

Seemed like throughout the fight if the exchanges continued cunningham would be wiping the floor….just not enough to jab and counter from time to time when its safewith a righthand

Posted December 22, 2012 7:43 pm

Alonzo

cunningham drew with the added fact that his ring generalship was better. Goral had sneaky punches which a savvy judge would see. The split draw was correct. Then some promoter scribbled out the first judges card and dropped it from 115/115 to 115/112. Goral aint the same since klit.

USS didn’t win the fight. Maybe it was a draw. You cannot judge a round afer two or three clear jabs. USS fought a good, tactical fight, but Adamek was more agressive. I think that USS believed that he won the fight too early , beacuse he let Adamek win last rounds. And he just paid for it.

Posted December 22, 2012 7:37 pm

KO KIDD

Decision shocked me, i had it even but gave Adamek the benefit in any close round. I thought at best he drew even but felt Cunningham was gonna get the win. Dont see how a judge had it 8 to 4 Adamek
