Wlad decides what and how to contract. Not some wannabe contender. Hell, the real contenders in the past used to fight for 5-15% purse and accept what ever dates just to get a title shot which maybe comes only once in their lifetime! And they fought accordingly – till the end. Now they cry if it’s less than 50% and they want their own dates and come just to get the paycheck. Any undisputed champ just shouldn’t offer any title shot for cry babies IMHO. There’s no such thing as scumbag contractor, it’s about being a champ and all roads lead to you so it’s the champion who decides the terms.

Beer Party, I don’t think Charr and Wach are worthy opponents. But most other champions have also had unworthy opponents. Price, Fury, Haye (again), Arreola (again), Povetkin, Boystov would all be more interesting opponents. I realize some of them don’t even want a title shot.

Wladimir Klitschko is the unified and undisputed heavyweight champion of the world! The champ decides some of the terms have always been like that in boxing and the way I see it is that Mariusz Wach (27-0, 15 KO) have nothing to come up with so who does he or his team he is? I tell you, NO SUPERSTAR for sure. James Buster Douglas had to take some deal rules when he was going to fight Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield to fight Mike Tyson, Hasim Rahman to face Lennox Lewis, Joe Louis to fight James Braddock etc the history list is long and a challanger have to accept some “bad terms” to get some where and get the best fights and title shots. Wach have a lot to learn and he is 32 now so its time now.

It’s not so much the purse – he’d take it if he thought he could win, yes. It’s the options on the next three fights. This could mean anything from the fights being promoted by K2, to picking opponents, to capping purses. Why is it fair to demand a say in the new champ’s future fights if Klit loses?

I don`t really like the 3 fight contract where the guy has to beat one Klit, fight the brother and then rematch the first one if they do actually win that – it`s all titted very heavily to the Bros, and neither of them is ever going to have to fight three such hard bouts in a row in their careers. Still if you are a voluntary put up or shut up. If you don`t want to be dictated to, make your way up to mandatory and go to purse bids where they can`t pull that sh!t.

Charr’s best win was not his stoppage victory over a shot Danny Williams but either his point decisons over Pedro Carrion or Taras Bidenko.
Yes,Wach wiped the floor with no-hopers like McBride and other outstanding names.Whoever has seen some of the Poles’ fight will certainly agree with me that Charr would probably beat Wach 9 out of 10 times..
Besides Gavern recently stated in an interview that Wach’s punch is overrated and that he doesnt have any real pop in his fists.
Charr will probably get knocked out in his fight with Vitaly,but he will make it a fight and fight his heart out that night.
Wach will probably get stopped within 5-6 rounds in a dull fight.

@bigmike, spot on my friend. This is a TITLE SHOT! He is no body. Until his “maybe” fight with Wlad, no one even knew who the f** he was or is. Some fighters fight there whole lives without ever having a crack at the champ. Man up sir! Take a page from your fellow polish countrymen(Adamek)and come to fight FIRST. He should think of all the doors that would open if he would be able to derail a Klitchko and not cry like Haye about contractual bs. Strike while the iron is hot …

Wach is in a tough spot.If he takes one of the other fights he might well lose and that would be for less money.Since he won’t beat Wlad anyway why worry about the terms for 3 matches after?They won’t apply if he loses.This is just a payday for Wach and he should take it.His future is far from certain after this fight.

Wach really has little to lose in taking the fight. 32 is not particularly old for a heavyweight nowdays, and he’s not had any tough fights, so if he loses he can come again. But I do see the attraction in trying to become a mandatory defence:- bigger purse and not having to sign up to these rematch/fight my brother clauses.
