Hennesy is his promoter. Fury must be drinking Hennesey if he thinks he can beat Velaquez in a cage under MMA rules. And what would he gain by beating Velaquez in the boxing ring?

In the ring……….queens rules………………Fury would own Valazquez. Too tall, too much reach, too fast, too powerful……………simple

mr gav

Is it me or dose fury only call out people he knows he won’t fight? I would pay very good money to see him in the octagon just too see him get KOd in 30 seconds he wants publicity so fury stick to small old men in the boxing ring when you fight anyone half decent you will get whoopef end of story you are a fraud

Posted March 8, 2013 12:53 pm

i LIKE FURY AS A BOXER i DONT BELIEVE HE THINKS HE CAN BEAT VALQUEZ IN A CAGE FIGHT .SAME WAY VALQUEZ KNOWS HE COULDNT BEAT FURY IN A BOXING MATCH WHEN A ATHLETE STEPS OUT OF HIS SPORT HE USALLY DOESNT DO TO WELL IN HIS NEW SPORT . MICHAEL JORDAN BASEBALL MARK GASTINUA BOXING JAMES TONEY MMA SO VALQUEZ AND FURY SHOULD STICK TO WHAT THEY DO

I am guessing this is stemming from Cain’s challenge to Wladimir for a fight (which probably won’t happen either). Fury would probably KO Cain in the ring, followed by celebratory punch to his own face. In the cage, it would end the moment it hit the canvas. Fury is too bulky and uncoordinated to have any kind of ground game.

Posted January 6, 2013 1:46 pm

Bottom line!!! Nothing else to discuss.

Cain ought to meet Fury outside a pub then they can really “fight”.

Man Velaquez has no chance of beating Fury in boxing and Fury has no chance of beating him in an mma bout.

Tyson Fury=big mouth douche bag. Can’t wait to see him flopping around the ring after one of these tomatoe cans he has been fighting knocks him so hard his former prostitue mother feels it, than he can loose that big pay check he has been using his gaping hole has been lipping off to get. F$&k , I wish there was a time machine to bring a prime real Tyson to punch his F$&king big mouth. Even John McDermott beat him in their first match

This is embarrassing. Such classless big-mouthing for a boxer is an embarrassment for the sport. MMA fighters have much more class nowadays, I doubt Cain will take this joker seriously. Anybody with MMA experience knows that MMA fighters would eat a pure boxer alive. Even some of the best kick boxers would struggle vs MMA fighters…CroCop vs Noguiera anyone?

Posted January 4, 2013 9:54 pm

The heavy weight use to be known as the most dangerous man alive it s clear that the hevy weight mma champ is without a doubt that man…you got to be a total moron to think otherwise !

As much as i like boxing the top UFC fihgters would destroy the top Boxers. I only know one Tyson and thats Mike who is this other moron Fury? Cain would literally mop the floor with this joke.

Demon it takes alot more than just takedown defense first u have to know how to get back to ur feet against a worldclass grappler then even in the standup boxers have alot of bad habits in real fighting like dipping the head. And no boxer can handle an elite striker like Silva, Machida and Aldo in the octagon these guys have superb defense and the range of their kicks alone will make a pure boxer ineffective. A boxer will get embarrassed by 1 of these guys even if the boxer get familiar with defending kickboxing these guys have tricks and clever faints for days respect martial arts son.

Seriously Tyson Fury needs to take on some Boxing contenders instead of tomato cans before talking smack about Cain V. Who the hell has he fought? every1 keeps calling Tyson out but he’s holding out for a big payday with one of the Klit’s… Fury shows me NOTHING!!!!

Yeah. Dos Santos was talking about how he’d beat Vitali to get publicity as a puncher and got his ass tapped. Now Fury’s calling out Cain. Gimme a break. It’s all just for publicity.

demon – I’m much more of a boxing fan than I am an MMA fan….most boxers wouldn’t do well in an MMA fight and most MMA fighters wouldn’t do well in a boxing match. They’re two different sports. Wlad would get RAPED by Cain Velazquez in an MMA bout…just as Cain would get outboxed and KO’d in a boxing match with Wlad. If Cain is allowed to wrestle, there’s no doubt he’d tear Wlad down and pound him out!

Posted January 4, 2013 2:01 pm

demon

That former champ was Juniour Dos Santos.I hope he gets asked again how he might fare against Wlad after a wrestler punched him around for 5 rds. Good god Wlad would be arrested for murder if it ever happened

Posted January 4, 2013 1:22 pm

demon

The funniest thing was the mma nut huggers going on recently that the former champ would beat Wlad Klit in boxing. He than gets the head punched of him by Cain who could not bust a grape. These mma nut huggers are soooo funny. Keep giving uncle |Dana all your money so he can feed you this crap of cancelled fights every month hahahahaha

Posted January 4, 2013 1:20 pm

All any top boxer needs to go into MMA is a very good take down defense. Chuck Liddell had a great take down defense and was a decent kick boxer and he ruled the roost there for years. Imagine a top end boxer who bothered to get a take down defense. He would KO everybody left right and centre.

Nearly 50 year old Ray Mercer had an MMA with the UFC heavyweight champion and Legend Tim Sylvia. It lasted less than 20 seconds after Mercer put Tim to sleep with the first punch. Hahahahaha sooo funny to watch

Posted January 4, 2013 12:47 pm

Mr. Shoulder Roll

Wouldn’t doubt that Mr. Fury knows a little something. It’s typical for boxers to train with mma fighters. Cotto, Haye Cintron (who pondered a switch to mma a few years ago after his first loss to Margarito). The comment can’t be taking seriously of course, he just wants to talk a little….He knows Cain will spare no expense in endin his career with some sweet ground and pound

The thing MMA fans overlook is that neither boxing, mma, kickboxing etc are a ‘real’ fight. They all have rules and restrictions. You dont have these in a real fight. Its SPORT, we need to remember that. That being said, if you put a boxer in the octagon, with the option to throw elbows, knees etc, he will take advantage! You cant use a couple old over the hill washed up boxers as a prime example for how a PRIME boxer would do in the octagon. Has anyone seen Nick Diaz sole pro boxing match? He was terrible!! World class mma fighter, who uses ‘street’ boxing and BJJ and sambo. But he was terrible in his boxing debut.

Posted January 4, 2013 9:12 am

jamesyg_31

Totally agree Junior, I never understand the debate between who wins boxer vs MMA fighter as they’re 2 totally different codes of fighting, a boxer wins a boxing match between the 2 & the MMA guy wins in the octagon, in a street fight nobody knows as neither sports skillsets transfer 100% to the street, however, a trained fighter will beat most average guys in the street they can come unstuck against a tough street fighter and there are many examples of this happening.

Posted January 4, 2013 8:57 am

Junior

Adameks trainer……. A street fight and a cage fight are 2 completely different things. For example, 1 of the boys (Danny) in my gym got into a fight with a pub landlord a few weeks ago. Danny has been boxing for 15+++ years at top amateur level. He took the fight to the floor, pounded the guys balls, and bit his face. As i said, a cage fight and a street fight are 2 completely different things

I’m sure this is just a bit of fun from Fury. I know he’s a work in progress in the ring but he’s only a young lad and clearly doesn’t take himself too seriously which is never a bad thing. However, I think Fury does suffer from depression and he may go to pieces should he ever lose in the ring.

Posted January 4, 2013 4:40 am

WHAT!!!

Why is it that he never calls out David Price?? He had the chance to fight him and he dumped his titles and ran. It’s obvious to anyone with half a brain that he is after one big payday, thus calling out the Klits, because he knows he will be exposed by the first genuine challenge. Actually that already happened when he lost to McDermott in the first fight.

Posted January 4, 2013 4:29 am

Tyson

Tyson is not ready for the Klits even though Tyson is starting to mature as a boxer. Tyson has a good opportunity to become a champion if he stays disciplined and applies himself. He reminds me a little of Mike T in regard to his heart. Tyson would have given Mike T fits because of Tyson’s much greater height and playful yet diminutive attitude in the ring. I will keep my eyes on TYSON

Posted January 4, 2013 3:27 am

Adamek’s Trainer

While I like the sweet science much more than I do MMA, a top MMA fighter almost always whups a top boxer in a real fight. A prime Fedor would have destroyed Muhammad Ali in the cage. Not even remotely a contest!! In fact Fedor’s power and boxing skills alone ( in his prime) would have been enough to bounce Fury from post to post. As much as I enjoy watching Fury as a future prospect both Klitschkos (even Vit at 40-yrs old) beats a game Fury right now.

Oh come on, he is funny ….. he talks s++t and doesnt careless what anyone thinks … I kind of respect that. Fury will get the big fights soon so we will soon see what he has to offer at the top level. I dont mind him. He is usually entertaining in the ring and has heart. Let him call everyone out (even UFC guys …. it’ll never happen anyway), he is just playing the game and keeping himself on websites with reports like these. It’s all about self-promotion ….. and winding people up gets his name out there. People / boxing fans never fail to fall for it.

If Fury is training in bjj and picks up quick it could be interesting with his boxing in the octagon only if hes not a fish out of water when he steps in.

Fury is not 6’9′. he’s actually more like 6’8″. That one inch would prove to be his downfall in a match with Valazquez. You can mark this in your daybooks, clones. This match will not happen. End of story.

Fury needs to stfu . And stop giving free publicity to this so called sport that loves to live off boxing. If he wants a fight so badly. Why doesn’t he call out Adamek or Cunningham.

Wilder?… Fury fought tougher comp then Wilder has in his 2nd pro fight. That said. Cain would grab ahold of Fury’s long legs and put him to the mat and then it would be all over.
