Froch should’nt waste time on this mandatory defence much bigger & better fights to be made in rematches with kessler, bute & ward, on current form i see him beat kessler, destroy bute again but tbh he would still come up short against ward as he is on another level. He could then retire or maybe even go for a title at light-heavy i.e domestic showdown against cleverley

I think the Cobra will relinquish the belt for a more lucrative fight but it would be good to see belts on the line vs Kessler than just a high profile exhibition match.

The total lack of information from Sauerland and Hearns and the IBF is strange. Since there were no press conference in Canada, Friday, regarding Froch vs Stevenson, and Frochs own position, I believe that Froch vs Kessler 2 will happen, and be confirmed soon. Froch and Kessler with their injuries and age have 2 to 3 fights left, they both said this, so when Kessler has outpointed Froch in London, he can take on Ward in Las Vegas and end with an easy fight, like Abraham or Bute or Pavlik. Good money, good career.

Froch vs Stevenson is as interesting as Ward vs Boone, the common denominator here, Boone Koed both Ward and Stevenson. Froch vs Stevenson a good fight, not in a million years, it is the typical 3 round easy Froch fight, ending in a Ko. I think its time the big dogs, in the smw division start meeting again. All these boring warm up fights, its not on, after the super 6. I have not been able to find any real confirmation that Froch vs Kessler 2 is gone. Maybe they just postponed the fight until this summer.

Froch/Stevenson is a good match up, but Froch/Kessler is better. Froch/Kessler will definitely make more money too. If necessary Carl needs to drop the IBF belt (alphabet soup means nothing anyway), and make his rematches with Mikkel and Andre. If “Superman” is any good at all he’ll still be around for a fight with Froch in a year or so.

I can’t see this happening, there’s far too much ca$h involved with Froch/Kessler II. If however it did happen in Canada how about compramising & staging it @ Alberta or even over the border @ NYC? As I said Froch/Stephenson is a no brainer with no interest outside of Quebec.

This is a tough fight for Froch if he chooses to go this route. Honestly though, I really don’t see this fight taking place anytime soon as long as Kessler/Froch is on the table. It’s a much bigger event with much more money involved. I don’t see the IBF choosing not to support Froch if he still wants the unification bout with Mikkel Kessler.

The IBF’s 3% will be much more with a big ticket fight like Froch/Kessler.

If the IBF is smart they will allow Froch to defend against Kessler, creating a stipulation that guarantees Stevenson a shot at the winner.

This completely contradicts everything that the President of the IBF just told me two days ago.

I was told that Lindsey Tucker was overseeing negotiations between Froch and Kessler, so I would be willing to assume that this is merely a press release written by Stevenson’s management and promoter.

They can plan on fighting the IBF’s decision, but there’s not much they can do about it.

A unification bout is the best thing for the sport and the IBF realizes this. i don’t see them taking the side of Adonis on this one.
