It is only six years because he did not intend to kill her. What he intended was as cruel in my opinion: He shot her in the punching hand, the foot and the knee. His intent was to make her a cripple.
However, in terms of law, this only boiled down to a conviction for grievous bodily harm as well as attempted aggravated assault. Woulf probably have been aggravated assault if she had not recovered.
Of course, we may be convinced that 6 years are too little for these crimes.
Yet another crime by a moslem. It happens all the time over herePosted January 11, 2013 9:52 am
Six years! I hope the coward gets killed before that embarrassment of a sentence is up?Posted January 11, 2013 9:48 am
IMpressive woman. Must have been a hell of a path back to the top… and that in only just over 1,5 years…Posted January 11, 2013 7:56 am
Amazing woman and fighter. Truly inspiring.Posted January 10, 2013 11:14 pm
6 years?!? No wonder why criminals do what they do. No fear of major consequences. How about death sentence over a slow and painful 6 day period.Posted January 10, 2013 10:06 pm
Wow, what a story.Posted January 10, 2013 8:23 pm
A six year sentence is a joke. Best wishes Rola; you’ve got another fan in me.Posted January 10, 2013 8:05 pm
Awesome to hear Halabi is able to resume her career. I remember when this happened and thought for sure she’d never fight again. BTW it’s an atrocity that her deranged fundamentalist step father is only serving a six-year prison sentence. This was attempted murder.Posted January 10, 2013 6:45 pm
I hope she does well!Posted January 10, 2013 12:32 pm
6 year prison sentence seems a bit lenient.Posted January 10, 2013 11:57 am
