MustidSeth Mitchell got pillowed by feather fisted Chazz Witherspoon in round 1 or 2 and was out on his feet for the rest of the round. His legs were GONE! If you get rocked by Chazz Witherspoon, you are probably not the best American Heavyweight prospect. Seth has power but is wild with his punches and the chin thing is a BIG problem! Posted August 27, 2012 12:28 amKoolzAll these guys have the wrong style to beat Wald! They would be just be KO’d. Posted August 26, 2012 1:31 amrodwilder needs to step it up. Face someone good. I think old Michael Grant would beat these guys Posted August 26, 2012 1:18 amFight AficionadoSlim, Arreola is not a prospect he’s a contender. Once you get a title shot you’re no longer a prospect. If this was about American contenders I’d still put Arreola on top of the list. Posted August 25, 2012 5:38 pmFight AficionadoMitchell’s definitely America’s best prospect. Those polled are calling Wilder #2 simply on talent and potential upside. The real #2 American prospect is Jennings, by a mile. I’m talking real world prospect, not theoretical prospect based on what-ifs. Posted August 25, 2012 5:34 pmdocpugfan – I totally agree with you. Besides the Klits, none of the former Soviet fighters (or Eastern Europeans) are worth anything either. I know that everyone hates him due to his no-show against Wlad, but to be honest David Haye is by far the most talented fighter out there. Fast, good amatuer background, and one-punch KO power with either hand. Posted August 25, 2012 12:37 pmpugfanthe European heavyweights are not any better then the American heavyweights.if they were someone would have beaten a Klitschko by now.the heavyweights from England are hype jobs who really just look like bums in my opinion. Posted August 25, 2012 12:21 pmIt’s Me, Ernie…Styles make fights, Jennings can’t get past Welliver. Posted August 25, 2012 11:56 amNot StupidCalling Rodriguez’s opponents “journeymen” is an insult to actual journeymen. Posted August 25, 2012 11:14 amNot StupidUm, the reason is probably that he isn’t American, dumbass. Posted August 25, 2012 11:13 amknowallSad when the best US heavy is fres and he is about 39, easily the best american Posted August 25, 2012 9:27 amMyo SintIs this the reason his name is not mentioned Dave? Posted August 25, 2012 9:22 amjuneauThese are terrible times for US heavyweights. Up until The K brothers American heavyweights were household names globally, from Johnson, Dempsey, Louis, The Rock, Ali, Holmes and Tyson. Nobody in the US never mind Europe would of heard of any of these current guys. Very sad times. Posted August 25, 2012 8:48 amTony1244If “Nino” took anymore time, he’d be eternity. Posted August 25, 2012 8:13 amDaveYes, huge punch, very flawed and super exciting Posted August 25, 2012 3:41 amAdrian“take your time” yeah when klitchko retire and become senior than challenge them … Lol Posted August 25, 2012 12:55 amAdrianI got one American talent in my mind who I think if he has a right trainer will go very far in haveyweight his name is stivens bujaj SANDMANTranslation – It’s pointless and dull. Posted August 24, 2012 10:15 pmSANDMANDiscussing the American heavyweight “talent” pool is like having a conversation about a fleet of old Reliant K Cars instead of Porches, Lamborghini’s or old American Muscle cars. Posted August 24, 2012 10:14 pmBLUESMANPersonally, I think Wilder and Jennings would ko Mitchell. Posted August 24, 2012 9:51 pmKid BlastHuh!!!!!!!!! Posted August 24, 2012 9:27 pmNoppornAnd when will these HW prospects fight the K2. What the hell are they waiting for? Posted August 24, 2012 8:44 pmKrysztofWilder is decent but needs to refine his skills….he looks sloppy. both K-bros would destroy him. Posted August 24, 2012 8:02 pmjohn whiteI believe David ” Nino ” Rodriguez will be heavyweight champion, I think? philly shellI tend to route for the philly fighters, but Jennings doesn’t have a lot of KO’s which is what I like in heavyweights. On the other hand I can’t wait to see Wilder step up and fight some names. 100% ko ratio. Sure he’s fighting mostly bums, but he’s doing what he’s supposed to do with bums – knocking them out. Posted August 24, 2012 7:12 pmMyo SintHave you guys heard of Magomed Abduslamov? Posted August 24, 2012 6:54 pmAnonymousmitchell is always on hbo and wilder isnt on anything so of course seth is gonna win the poll !!! Posted August 24, 2012 6:44 pmstfulol @ joe hanks, he’s fought worse opposition than deontay wilder but has none of the power or athleticism, future journeyman at best Posted August 24, 2012 6:35 pmKid BlastPulev, Ustinov, Boytsov, Fury, Price, Helenius, Haye and Pianeta as well Posted August 24, 2012 6:25 pmKid BlastWhere the f–k is Arreola? Mitchell is strong, but doesn’t have Wilder’s skill level. Jennings is skillful with not much power. Posted August 24, 2012 6:10 pmKid BlastAnd they are all giants. I mean big and tall. Helenius as just one example. And , of course, Price as another. They would decapitate Mitchell and/or Jennings. Wilder I’m not so sure. So this poll is irelevant. The K Bros closest comp will come out of Europe somewhere. The UK is having a surge of potential HW talent. Not sure any could take the K Bros but they are a lot closer than anyone in the US right now. Posted August 24, 2012 5:44 pmPeejNobody is going to be beating the Klitchkos. They will retire with the belts and then it will be a free for all after. Posted August 24, 2012 5:35 pmBruceSeth Mitchell is the best American prospect but so what? Look at the ratings. You’ve got 4 undefeated non-Americans ahead of him: Helenius, Fury, Pulev and Povetkin. David Haye is ranked ahead of them. Seth needs lots of work before he challenges for the grandest prize in all of sports. Let him fight 3 or 4 of the above mentioned boxers. If he came out on top, I’d give him an excellent shot of winning the title. I wish him well; he seems like a nice guy. Posted August 24, 2012 5:28 pmIt’s Me, Ernie…Jennings doesn’t have enough pop. Only a half dozen ko’s against weak opponents. Arreola would wipe the floor with him. With more experience, Mitchel could make some noise. Posted August 24, 2012 5:09 pmKnucKled EyeI know I’m not answering the question outright but, the only type person to beat either of the Klits would be someone like Usane Bolt. Imagine someone as tall as Usane with the supreme athletisim, a dude like that would kick ass for a long time. Posted August 24, 2012 4:29 pmGangerThe US contenders should fight the EU ditto, so we could get some quality title-fights. They should fight Pulev, Ustinov, Boytsov, Fury, Price, Helenius, Haye and Pianeta to mention a few. Posted August 24, 2012 4:01 pmPaul McCreathJennings has the most developed skills right now but I question his punching power.Mitchell has fine power but his technical skills are lacking. Both could beat Wilder now but long term I think Wilder will go further.None will beat a Klitschko. Posted August 24, 2012 3:50 pmTony1244Thanks for letting me know about this poll. I voted for Seth Mitchell. There isn’t a hell of a lot to chose from. I thought of Wilder, but he’s just moving up too slowly. Posted August 24, 2012 3:39 pmSlim WhitmanWow, Arreola is already off the radar. Well to be fair, it is a poll, not Ring themselves saying it. Posted August 24, 2012 3:37 pmKid BlastVery sad  Posted August 24, 2012 3:21 pmKid BlastRing Mag sucks to the max and is totally conflicted by the fact it is owned by GBP. Nuff said. Posted August 24, 2012 3:15 pmGangerThey would not even be top 20 in Europe. Sad state of HW boxing for us at this time. Posted August 24, 2012 3:14 pmDaveI know everyone in the US likes Mitchell, but my money is on Jennings, he has seasoning that most other young heavies dont have, including Mitchell. Next time you watch Mitchell, Wiler, and Jennings etc. take a close look at their technique, I just think Jennings has the best style and he seems to have that intangible thing that I can’t describe. I also love to watch Mitchell and Wilder, they’re good too. I used to like Hanks but they protected him for so long it looks like they have NO confidence in him. Same with Wilder, if he’s so good (all by ko) then why the hell wouldn’t they want to throw him ion the mix and make millions. Makes you think. Posted August 24, 2012 3:12 pm |
