Look, fighters and promoters have to get paid, its what keeps the sport alive, Dallas had a fighting chance, he wasn’t that under matched, granted, he did take the fight on short notice, but that doesn’t make his chin any stronger or weaker. If we just decided to put high profile fighters right into dead heat match’s, ticket prices would have to increase by 5X there current amount, if not more. I do see alot of very under-matched Cards at times, especialy in the ‘Rising Stars’ section of Showtime sports. Neither the less, this is the journey of Boxing.

“according to Showtime Matthysse weighed 163.5lbs” I think someone’s exaggerating. Regardless, what did Dallas weigh on fight night?

“it should show Mike Dallas doing well, before getting knocked down for the 10 count.” Doing well? Dude! Dallas didn’t even make it through one round!

Jesus Soto Karas is a Great fighter. I am very happy for him. He is tough and has stamina, and some power. He always gives the fans a good fight.

reminds me of Arturo Gatti who weighed over 150 when he fought a jr. lwt kid from Maine, forgot his name, but Gatti almost killed him, never heard of him fighting again

according to Showtime Matthysse weighed 163.5lbs on fight night, this is nearly the Super middleweight limit, no wonder hes putting fighters asleep!

I agree, I do think Matthysse would beat Judah and probably Judah would not make it to the final bell

This type of journalism is not good for Boxing.

That photo is not a true version of the fight, it should show Mike Dallas doing well, before getting knocked down for the 10 count.

matthysse will beat judha if they end up in a rematch, but i dont see judha beating garcia. matthysse vs garcia is probly a 50/50 fight i think

Both fights against Judah and Alexander where close not robberies. Now I thought he beat Judah but I also thought the Alexander fight could of gone either way. In the Alexander fight the rounds Lucas won where convicingly and the ones I gave Alexander could of gone either way so it was how you scored the fight. That was the problem. But as for the Juday fight I think the Knockdown definitely secured the fight and he should of won by a point or 2 but it was still close

BART: totally agree; Dallas Jr. was totally out-matched by Matthysse. In my opinion, the Argentine is undefeated although having lost because both Zab Judah and Devon Alexander wins were a robbery against Matthysse.

Typical Showtime Card, mostly over-matched fighters against good named consistent fighters. Case in point the Matthysse vs Dallas Jr. Main event. Dallas Jr. is a top tier class B fighter at best in against a world class, probably top 2 or 3 fighter in the world. Give us a break HBO, Showtime, ESPN & especially Pay for View Cards, put on good even match ups we all want to see for a change.
