say what you will. Danny will have to be dragged into the ring with Matthysse. Its about styles. Alexander and Judah lasted because they moved. Dannys come forward wide punching style will play right into Lucas’ strength. Short night!

no way danny garcia is ducking matthysse why would he i mean he a fighter but would al haymon and garcia dad and golden boy be willing to put garcia in with matthysse that the questions they both sign with golden boy so it shouldn be a problem making the fight if they both want it lamont peterson now with golden boy so we see what happens if danny beat zab judah

Mattesse CLEARLY beat Alexander – I didnt see the Juhdah fight but I heard the judging was just as bad.

It’s Me, Ernie

As slick as Boner is, I don’t think he has enough to keep the much bigger Matthysse off. Love to see though for as long as it lasts…

that punch would have KO’d a horse.

Fight Aficionado

As for the fight, Matthysse is a straightup beast. That first round KO didn’t come with swarming bombs; he was boxing smartly and landed a short right then hit Dallas two more times as he was going down. Nice…

Marquez is at the stage of a career where he is ONLY going to be looking for BIG fights and the biggest available is a guy he just knocked out… He will make more fighting Pacquiao for a 5th time than he would facing Bradley, Mattheysee and Rios combined its a no brainer who his next opponent will be notwithstanding something crazy… Why would he got thru ANOTHER training camp at 40 for 2 mill or something like that???

The 140 lbs division is hot at the moment, a super six style tournament could be amazing!! A lot of the fighters are evenly matched & there would be some good rematches in there too i.e. khan v maidana / peterson / garcia etc, perhaps broner cud stay out of it & face the winner in 2 yrs time in a super fight, come on promoters make it happen :-)

“douch bag Broner” – That’s funny!

Danny Garcia has stepped up plenty and was ready for Matyssee.. but he got injured.. let Brandon Rios, Khan, or douch bag Broner take on Matyssee…

I don’t understand why some on this site are under the impression that Danny would elect to avoid anyone in the 140 pound division.

When has Garcia ever shown any reluctance to meet anyone in the ring?

He was willing to defend his WBC title against who most considered to be the class of the Junior Welters in Amir Khan. Russell Peltz once characterized Danny as a fighter who doesn’t look overtly impressive in the ring, but always wins.

His confidence is currently at its apex, and Danny Garcia will not avoid Mr. Matthysse. God Bless him!!

mathysse vs rios or vs alvarado or vs maidana. not Danny Daddys boy Garcia cause i doubt he would fight those hard hitters except for maidana cause his stamina fades.

Matthysse vs Maidana, Rios vs Garcia that way we will see two action packed fights then Matthysse vs Rios for the grand finaly. Dont forget Alvarado, even tho he lost he still packs a punch. all these guys have power and all these guys have balls except Danny Daddy Boy Garcia.

whatever Mathysse decides i want him to remain at 140lbs, which hasn’t been this promising since the prime and contending Judah, Bojado, Cotto, Hatton, and Tszyu days, which was ultimately hit-and-miss. Mathysse v. Garcia would be a hit for this era of 140lbrs. as would Guerrero v. Khan and Rios v. Pacquiao* at 140lbs. Marquez takes his pick. it may not even be Pacquiao*. a case of “been there, done that” almost to death. whoever commands the biggest payday. it just can’t be Floyd. he’s been there, done that . . . except for Pacquiao*.

Matthyse is the real deal

correction: i think at 40 years old . . .

“. . . why hasn’t Marquez called out Matthysse? why hasn’t Matthysse called out Marquez?” i think at 4 years old and following two careers-worth of heavy-lifting and deMolishing Pacquiao* once and for all, Marquez has earned the right to step aside and encourage the youngsters to put in some heavy work and earn their own stripes. after all, not even Pacquiao* unified a division or KTFO of Marquez and he’s only 34(?!). about the age that Marquez decided to unify and claim his own division. in fact, why hasn’t Pacquiao* called out the 140lb Mathysse? why hasn’t Mathysse called out Pacquiao*!? or has he?!?

Matthysse is a beast. Nothing more to say about that. The reason Marquez has not called him out is because he is now at 147 and he only wants a fight with Pac. Marquez needs to retire anyways, he has already accomplished so much in the sport and there really isn’t anything else to accomplish

Screw Matthysse/Garcia, why hasn’t Marquez called out Matthysse? Why hasn’t Matthysse called out Marquez? Or has he?

hope lucas gets garcia/judha winner.too bad that fight got postponed. i was thinking bout going to that fight with my brother. well now i’ll have more time to save up for it cause its still gonna be held at the same venue in brooklyn. but matthyssee defidently deserves a fight for the belt. he’s getting up there in age at this point and seems to be at his peek. but i see ppl ducking him… especiall after this past weekend. i kinda hope brandon rios fights matthysse. rios will be put top sleep being he loves a war. i think anyone that goes toe to toe with matthysse gets ko’d.
