A lot people are saying how boring Molina is but the kid just keeps winning. He all love knock outs but you got to take your hat off to him. He does nothing great and everything good. He deserves where he is.

RORY mC gOVERN

It is now official that CORY SPINKS HAS RETIRED. CORRECT DECISION AND I LOVED THE WAY HE FOUGHT IN HIS PRIME. A FUTURE HALL OF FAMER.

Terror Tim, I hate to disagree with you on this one but Judah holds excessively too. In fact, if you watch him hold Mathysse, you’ll agree. Berto reportedly held Ortiz over ONE HUNDRED times when they fought and you must agree excessive holding makes boring fights. Compare these fighters mentioned with Rios and Alvarado who, in their fight neither clinched ONCE; and hence the referee intervened only when the bell rang at the end of each round.

Srminimo, di you forget to mention Molina can’t punch his way out of a paper bag? There were so many times that Molina could have KO Spinks with some of his hooks if he wasn’t slapping them. Somebody should teach him how to punch. I like Molina because he’s an honest pro. If you took the gloves off him, he would break his wrist with a pounch. Spinks is just plain horrible at this point. He has no punch either but in his youth, he could move like a good boxer.

Yes, I would agree srminimo that in the clinches, Carlos absolutely refuses to be the one with his face getting cut on the other guys head. You would think that hes a perfect candidate for the uppercut, except for that he almost always slips it and lands a counter, which is why you only see people try a couple of them. Its his quirky sense of timing, his expert use of angles and his steady work rate that give people so much trouble. Theres a lot more goin on with that kid than just headbutting and taking a shot.

Fight Aficionado

Horrible main event choice when they had a banging heavyweight scrap they could’ve televised. Everyone knew it would be Molina pressuring and Spinks running and holding ever round.

Like we said before this fight, it had everything a stink fight fan would ever want, and it payed off. Spinks shouldn’t have even signed the fight, and Molina looked just as awkward as ever. Molina is painful to watch, but he shouldn’t change a thing. His awkwardness is what got him to where he is, a top ranked fighter, not bad.

srminimo, that is Molina all the way. Might be the best description of him I have ever read.

Judah might not be what he was and should probably hang them up but boring he is not. Can’t recall a fight he was in that I would call boring. Berto isn’t a great fighter but is usually in good fights. I agree this fight was boring. Spinks isn’t in a lot of great fights and when Molina is involved it will get a little dirty however. I do think Spinks was penalized last night.

Cory survival-mode-go-to-the-bank Spins should be banned from boxing. It’s a shame that he was included in the ‘main event.’ These people who do whatever they want in the ring and get away with it, most of the time, should find work somewhere else, if not, welfare should be their option, not boxing. What a boring fight but yet, it was to be expected with this type of boxers; a la Hopkings, Berto, Judah, to name a few. These are not marketable fighters by their own right, and the boxing commissions should do something to discipline these stupid referees who do not penalize excessive and unnecessary holding.

Spinks’ decline since losing to Judah in their second fight was extremely rapid…no glimpses of the fighter who beat Mayorga or Judah in their first fight. Agree with horst that this was a pay day fight for him and its time to call it quits.

Szpilka needs a better quality chin. Gonna be interesting watching his next fight, maybe only fight ‘non punchers’ in future????? Lost value after TWO knockdowns.
