Of course fans still want this. Pac may be shot, but he can still kick Floyd’s ducking ass apart.

Pac is shot. End of story.

Too bad Floyd still don’t… Floyd never fooled me… He never wanted to fight Manny… I guarantee that all the PED accusations and petty demands were just a lengthy stall tactic and smokescreen, hoping for Manny to lose a step and better yet, hoping for what happened with Marquez. And even after that, Floyd STILL don’t really want none!

Let me think… do I care? Nope. Can’t say as I do. They needed to fight 2 years ago. It mattered then, but not now.

Floyd controls his OWN career good and bad whereas Pacquiao has a standard relationship with a promotional entity…Mayweather seeks maximum revenue from each event he is not Donaire who fought 4 times last year attempting to maximize opportunities ect… FMJ is the cash cow of boxing, he did 78 million against Victor Ortiz for Gods Sake meanwhile Manny could not break 1 million PPV buys against Tim Bradley… I am a Manny fan but he and Floyd are not equal in any respect as it pertains to present day boxing… Floyd is considered the best fighter in the business, and he is EASILY the top earner…. Mannys career is in jeopardy he has to regain some status before he can challenge FMJ… That KO loss is not going to be easily forgotten he was SNUFFED OUT….

Posted February 5, 2013 10:57 am

SREDMOND

REM, I see you like to buck reality and it would serve you BADLY as a businessman Floyd does NOT have to fight as often as Pacquiao and he is older than Manny… Floyd makes twice what Manny makes per fight after you strip out Arums percentages, FMJ has an unusual deal because he is virtually self promoted with GBP acting in accordance with his wishes…Floyd made 85 million over the span (2011-2012 fiscal year) Forbes (100% purses) Manny made a healthy 63mill or so including 6 mill in endorsements BUT Manny fought 3 times over that span and Floyd twice Ortiz and Cotto meanwhile Mayweather made OVER 20 million dollars more… You can try and give Manny points for durability but the truth is that he HAS to fight that much in order to STILL lag Mayweather by a tremendous amount..

Posted February 5, 2013 10:39 am

SREDMOND

Anyone who thinks that Marquez is not going to Pacquiao again is seriously naive, JMM is setting himself up to command the maximum money by acting like he might go in a different direction, the truth is that there is NO other direction that will get him a payday over 5 million dollars, against Manny he may be able to get up to 15 mill….Marquez is not sticking around boxing so he can fight a guy like Bradley or someone else who cannot draw PPV fans…. Manny is gonna get his chance to avenge the loss and he had better make the best of it…

Posted February 5, 2013 10:27 am

SREDMOND

REM, I see you are wedded to this unproven thesis which still sees Mayweather unbeaten against southpaws and only having wins via stoppage or UD at worst…Marquez is not the boxer nor athlete that Floyd is, he is also not sporting a 72 inch reach with FMJs defense… Floyd would pick Pacquiao apart and Manny would be left only with a punchers chance, meanwhile he is no a big KO threat at 147 the numbers don’t lie…please don’t try and sell me Compubox as a science because that’s amateur hour…

Posted February 5, 2013 7:49 am

SREDMOND

You are discussing ancient bouts, Mayweather has at worst gotten a bloody nose in the last 10 years… Marquez has guts for days and he needs them because he is routinely put in tough positions in the ring..If a punch
lands on Floyd’s face the AP news wires go crazy… Marquez is awesome but just like we saw when they fought FMJ is in a different class…

Posted February 5, 2013 7:42 am

wow JMM wont fight pac again thats explain more than anything ,cant do peds! have a chance to redeem and have more win over pac ,and still wont do it ,consider this will make a pac -may income for both of them USD wise……
Always thought JMM would give pac a chance to come back but like run like this after ALL the chances pac gave him…..purely coward protecting his win pure and simple…Sad

SRed southpaws have a higher landing % against Floyd powershots at that and his counterpunching goes down because hes forced to lead. Floyd will be facing the most dynamic offensive fighter without his signature defense. Pac does not only have a punchers chance he has the tools to outwork and outscore Floyd.

“Imagine Floyd getting floored by Katsidis or having to turn up the heat on Juan Diaz?? Manny’s vaunted activity and power are not gonna get him a win over FMJ at 147 …” no need to “imagine”. simply cue-up Floyd v. Castillo or even Hernandez. both bouts tested a desperate Mayweather’s resilience and ability to avoid bitter losses v. less-talented but equally fierce opponents and when it comes to competitive ferocity, Mayweather’s is only equal to Marquez.

Posted February 4, 2013 3:39 pm

SREDMOND

Manny Pacquiaos power has NOT been stopping guys at 147 and thats a FACT…His KO percentage has dropped DRAMATICALLY at the higher weight and despite his ability to get respect for his pop he is not a major one punch threat… The idea that he is going to level FMJ is pretty comical, he could not even keep Marquez on the canvas… His activity DROPS when he is in the ring with a talented counter puncher like Marquez, meanwhile as GREAT as Marquez is he is ONLY 1/2 the fighter that FMJ is… Imagine Floyd getting floored by Katsidis or having to turn up the heat on Juan Diaz?? Manny’s vaunted activity and power are not gonna get him a win over FMJ at 147…

Forreal Floyd never called Pacs bluff so it doesnt apply. Pac did call Floyds bluff multiple times on cutoff dates and when Pac agreed with up to the day of the fight.

…look, after that stinking K.O loss, the only reason PEDman would STILL draw meaningful PPV numbers is because people wonders if he is finished as a fighter;unless his opponent is carefully selected,he might suffer the same fate as last!

Posted February 4, 2013 2:30 pm

SREDMOND

Rem, you are living on a different planet if you think that Pacquiao is a BIGGER draw than Mayweather, creative accounting is NOT gonna change the average number Floyd can produce per event… Manny has fought MORE but Floyd brings more bang for the buck… the ONLY common opponent that Manny did more business with was Marquez, his loss etches it in stone that Manny will be taking a LESSER percentage of the pot… This fight will still do 1.8 mill or close to 2 mill depending on Manny beating JMM because these guys are the #1 and #2 draws in the business… But the biggest check is going to FMJ….

Posted February 4, 2013 1:44 pm

of course Uncle Raj still wants Pacquiao*. if it was easy to imagine Floyd prevailing over a steamrolling Pacquiao* two years ago, even the most delusional “expert” must now concede that a 2013 matchup v. a severely-dented Pacquiao* will be an anti-climactic showcase in favor of #1 P4P Mayweather. Btw, i see Arum’s publicity stunts have already confirmed Marquez v. Pacquiao* IV for September but i’ve yet to read a Damn thing out of Marquez’s camp to confirm this. i personally favor Marquez going after Bradley and/or retiring. providing Mayweather with his chance to dominate and retire a sacrificial Pacquiao*.

…what you don’t understand is that PEDman will not under ANY circunstances do random blood testing…so much for PEDman/Floyd fight;and i read somewhere that Marquez won’t do a fifth fight either,so PEDman only got a rematch with Bradley and maybe a few tomato cans here & there…that’s it!!

Posted February 4, 2013 3:13 am

Forreal what u have to understand is Floyd will have to fight Pac because of the angles a southpaw presents. Hes faught every southpaw toe to toe and now that his footspeed has slowed it will b even more so.

even if Floyd grows a pair and really wants to make the fight we still have Bob “the puppetmaster” Arum to deal with I dont think it will ever happen, too many things in the way. Everyone tries to put the blame on one side or the other, I really dont care, both sides have done things that show they dont want the fight to happen.I do think Manny has wanted the fight all along but cant wake up and take a stand against Arum.

Posted February 4, 2013 12:26 am

Rem

Oh btw Pac will destroy Floyd he will hit him alot with signifigantly more power that Floyd can return. Floyd will land good straight rights but will get beat down his defense cannot stop Pac.

Posted February 3, 2013 11:35 pm

Rem

Well theres no doubt the fight will struggle to break records now that Pacs legitimently lost. Alot of low boxing i.q casual fans arent interested because theyre more attracted to hype instead of understanding the small details of the matchup of styles. Not only are both by far the 2 best w.ws and freakishly gifted but both have the tools to attack each others weaknesses. Im personally still foaming out the mouth to c the matchup unfold. But Floyd must accept that Pac is the more popular fighter and the bigger draw. Pac has sold 11.9 mil. ppvs to Floyds 9.6. Not Pacs fault Floyd doesnt fight consistantly enough or should i say takes long layoffs to build anticipation to sell the max for 1 event thats y he sells more ppvs per. If Pac fought every 12-18 months hed sell more ppvs per also. So bottom line is Pacs the ppv king and Floyd must negotiate accordingly. Men lie Floyd lies but the #s dont.

yes, this fight would have been much better 3 or 4 years ago but still, better late than never so let’s hope they get it on. By the way, I wonder if Manny is mad at God now. Why? Because God must have made him lose, since Manny always gave God credit for his victories then God should also be blamed for his losses. God apparently decided to have Marquez land that tremendous right cross in the 6th round, don’t you think so, Manny? It’s so ridiculous, thinking that a supreme being is going to take sides in a sporting event but unfortunately Manny and many others think that.

BS no we dont……. we dont want to see the Coward Mayweather all of sudden challenge Manny after he has looked washed up.

Actually Bob Arum was the first torpedo, Bradley was the second and Marquez was the 3rd and final blow that sunk the ship would you agree..

Posted February 3, 2013 8:25 pm

The Prince

If the fight happens, which it won’t, Floyd will get the larger purse. Bob Arum will never let the fight happen, especially since he has the Marquez saga going on. There will likely be a 5th fight this year. Anything to avoid Floyd Mayweather.

I would start to question Roach as a trainer if he doesnt focus on Manny’s defense in upcomin training camps

Posted February 3, 2013 6:17 pm

this could be far fetched but do you think there is a chance that with age taking its toll on him getting ko d mite actually help with his last fights as long as he is able to fully recover health wise of course because they will focus way more of their time in training on defending and countering shots like the one that got him and also his balance when he is throwing his flurries or is it too late in his career for him to improve very much in those areas Just askin im not a huge fan of one over the other so dont freak out with the pactard comments I think both have had great careers.

Even talking about a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight now is anticlimatic. Mayweather would systematically pick Pacquiao to pieces. If there’s one thing Floyd is good at it’s finding an opponent’s weakness and exploiting it. Ask Miguel Cotto.

“Greatest Fighter Ever” @hecdog? Boy have u missed some great fighters over the years. Pac is a legend, atg and future hof. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t lack for skill in some areas. In reality Pac does have a legit chance of beating Floyd by ko. Especially in the early rounds 1-4. These will be Pac rounds and if he catches Floyd I believe it will be curtains. Now if it goes later and becomes a boxing match it will be a whitewash. There is no chance he beats Floyd in a 12 round decision. Maybe with kds he might get a draw but I highly doubt it. If it goes the distance your lookin at 8-4 in rounds maybe 7-5 but its doubtful. Still entertaining and I would still pay to see it

Posted February 3, 2013 10:11 am

Manny is a Great fighter but he has NOT layed anyone out in years and the idea he’s gonna start with FMJ is just funny.. Mayweathers defense is superior by far to the last 5 fighters Manny faced and he stopped not a single one… Floyd would have PAC utterly confused…

So would I! The sad part is that the best fights in boxing occur in these chat rooms and the ring is filled with greed, corruption, and guys with too much pride to lock horns! Out of all the boxing sites, this one has the most retards. Because the Fighter of the Decade lost his last fight, he’s not worthy of fighting Floyd now, and Floyd should fight lesser fighters like overhyped Guerrero instead? lol. Just admit you’re all just as scared as Floyd is to put his “0″ on the line against a decent fighter. Even past prime, Manny would still lay “Money” Mayweather out.

its a shame that this fight was not made 2 or 3 years ago. Pac man has to many irons in the fire his skills have slipped, mayweather is not the boxer he once was. they are both considerably past their prime. Though it may be an entertaining fight the public has already been robbed. I truly believe that mayweather is on the verge of his first loss. I believe that if Canelo fights Trout on the mayweather undercard on may 4th after Trout defeats Canelo he will add mayweathers belt to his collection and expose him. he is past his prime . Lookout Jr. middleweights Trout is coming to clean up the division.
