I dont think I have ever seen a fighter admit that he lost a fight that the judges screwed up and gave him the victory. I have seen it happen years later but never rite after the fight. How am I full of it when I was just saying I think he would of got alot more fans if he was just honest. You cant tell me he actually thought he won rite after the final bell, just go look at how he acts before the decision is read. Not sayin do anything dramatic like give Manny the belt back, just say it was close but I didnt do quite enough to win and I will do better next time. Nothin crazy bout that he was injured on top of that too.To see him go from lookin so disappointed to weeping with joy and sayin he thought he won the whole time is total bs.

Bradley vs The Ghost, Berto, or Ortiz would all be better match ups.

He stayed inactive TOO LONG. He should have took on a fight reguardless whether it was a rematch with Pacman or not. I believe he hurt his career waiting too long. Even if he gets a rematch with Pacman at this juncture and he wins again; he will not get any credit for it because the first thing folks are going to bring up is the fact that Pacman isn’t the same because of the vicious ko at the hands of Marquez. He should have capitolized on that victory by staying active. Like they always told me; SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING.

very nice Lman pass that shhhhh! I agree the fight was closer than many people act like. I was actually tellin people to bet on Bradley so I got lucky too. I would never expect a fighter to hand the belt to his opponent after gettin a gift decision, but wouldnt it of been nice to hear him say somethin like “I thought it was a good, close fight but I think the judges were a little too nice to me tonite and he can have the rematch whenever” Just be honest, he wouldve done so much better for his popularity

This could be a good action fight. Provodinov is always game and regardless of that train wreck loss against Pac, Bradley’s usually entertaining. I’ll watch.

Frank, go to Boxing.com. Look for a 27 June video about the Pac vs Bradley fight and you’ll see Pac wasn’t dominating like the HBO crew have you believing.

any one who doesnt believe pacman was robbed is blind . but I dont blame bradley for the decision he fought a honest fight . he wasntr the judge it was th judges who were corrupt and dis honest bad decision are ruining boxing and now I see the are creepiing into mma fighting

This is a good fight. Bradley is a great fighter, and Prodsy’s tough as hell. This is not a gimmee for Desert Omar (look it up if needed).

Watch the Pac fight with the sound off (again)–then the sound on. Note how many times when the ‘casters are talking bout how dominant (not “dominate”) Pac is, Bradley is pushing him back. Normally the casters are accurate–this wasn’t the kind of situation (pace, subtleties) where they were, particularly.

Argue as you will about that fight’s outcome, but Bradley simply wansn’t blown out and put on a credible, if non-mouthbreather-pleaser. OK, sure he lost (maybe) a much closer decision. To a top p4p guy.

Re: Bradley’s career–he’s going to fight M-weather and make millions of dollars in the future. That’s enough. That’s smart. I hope he beats Prod, but both are worthy persons and fighters.

Arum has done a terrible job with Bradley. He beats Manny and not only is he not rewarded but he is put on the shelf for a year. And instead of a money fight he get a FNF opponent.

It’s a shame the way Tim Bradley was handled by Bob Arum, Just because he beat his preordained boxing god

Bradley’s a very talented boxer. Take a look at his resume – there’s some big names on there besides Pacquiao, and Bradley won every fight. So he didn’t hand the belt to Pacquiao after the bad decision, not many would have in his place. If he just had more KO’s (more pop on his punches) he’d be a very popular fighter.

Posted February 4, 2013 1:48 pm

Bradley overestimates his appeal, he should have fought Khan and then been more aggressive about getting back in the ring at this point… I have NOOOOO clue who this guy is he is fighting but a LONG layoff then a no name fighter assure that he will NOT become a household name anytime soon…

Bradley who?

Bradleys career is like a Twighlight Zone episode. He sells his soul to beat Pac and make himself a household name yet he becomes hated by many an turned away by fans , talking heads and other fighters. Now he is stuck with arum and cant land a fight. maybe he can beat the cottos moselys and margaritos. Yay but now he is stuck.

Provodnikov does not have a chance beating a drunken homeless man Bradley has pop you might not think that but if he hits you 10 times out 10 you get Ko’d Bradley will school the russian. Provodknikov and Bradley both r young there both 29 years old you will see show his skill, will, and heart in the fight with the russian and the american will be the victor i know everybody will be watching the fight and all the haters will be mad that will bradley schooled provodnikov in a good fashian way just like people want to see mayweather lose he will not lose to no one but people watch him any ways thats how bradley is now but he will keep winning and you’ll keep watching

Soooooooo he “beats Pacquiao” and his next opponent after that is a Pacquiao sparring partner? ? Seriously.. That guy is Pacs Sparring partner.

I’m really baffled by this writer’s comment, “But despite the perceived lack of sportsmanship on the part of Bradley”. Bradley’s job was to fight, not to be the judge for the fight or become a Pac fan. The judges decided he won the fight, so there’s no reason why he should go against that decision or to criticize the judges…that’s his opponent’s responsibility.

Pac had, and still has, the chance to avenge that bad decision, but perhaps feels it’ll be too dangerous a second time around. Bradley may not be as flamboyant and charismatic as other welters, but he can fight and deserves a good fight.

Not that I think this is a huge risk, but this fight is one of those “Risk not worth the Reward” fights. Ruslan is game big puncher and isnt a “known” fighter. I wouldnt have put Bradley in with him.

Tim may not have won the fight with Pacquiao, but he sure as hell didn’t lose it. As a 40-year fan of boxing, I was absolutely pissed when I heard the results of the fight — yet another horrible decision — but after seeing the fight the following week on regular HBO I couldn’t understand the outrage. To me, it was coin-toss decision — I could have made a case for either fighter. Later I watched a video on Boxing.com — dated 27 June — about the fight. They slowed all of the key exchanges between the two fighters and it clearly displayed the fight I saw — one in which Pacquiao was reaching and missing with most of the “big shots”, the ones the HBO crew said were landing. And you could see all the sneaky counter shots Bradley was landing. For all of those who keep blabbering on about Bradley getting a gift decision, I challenge them to go check out that video.

Big Al

Let me explain the Tim Bradley phenomenon: (1) While Tim was sitting out the remainder of his contract with Gary Shaw, Amir Khan took full advantage of a Public Relations moment and “called out” tim knowing full well that tim would not accept while he was waiting to switch to Top Rank, (2) tim made the move to Top Rank and it paid off with the Pacquiao fight, (3) in a surprise move, tim actually won a robbery and everybody’s mad a tim and he acts a fool by believing it, which makes even more people hate him, (4) Top Rank runs out of viable contenders at welterweight, thus Pacquiao is on his rematch tour because there’s nobody left, (5) Pacqiuao got KTFO by Marquez and Bradley is still out of the picture.

Provodnikov is a clear live underdog. The guy is young and exciting to watch. he’s strong, aggressive, everything you would want to see in a fight. His 1 loss was a blessing, he is now learning to be more of a complete fighter and not be so one dimensional. I think Bradley is in for 1 hell of a fight. In order to beat Provodnikov and keep him off you one needs to have good power and this is where Bradley is vulnerable. He has no pop in his punches and thus Provodnikov will be able to get close and possibly out power Bradley. This is why I have Provodnikov a very live underdog. He has the youth and power to give Bradley problems and if Bradley can’t keep Provodnikov off of him because of his lack of punching power then Provodnikov has a chance of winning.

Problem is Bradley has turned down fights and he doesn’t sell any tickets at all. And since he really does not generate money, he will not get those big money paydays. This is really his own fault.

if Bradley can’t get a Pac rematch or a fight against Floyd, he should come down to 140 & clean the division…lots of good fights there & none of those guys can compete with him.

I do like the russian cuz hes exciting buy come on this is ridiculous. There are so many other guys that deserve a shot before this guy. I wish there was a way to stop arum from this absurdity. If the two biggest promo companies by far wont get along that leaves the fans watching fights we dont want. We need some kind of organization to watch over the fights that are made and we need it now!

LOL, I’ve been calling out that fool Jim Lampley for years. The only thing keeping his job for him is his big mouth. Both Lampley and Kellerman have been corrected and called out for their erroneous analyses or comments during fights by Roy Jones Jr., Lennox Lewis, Andre Ward and others. Lampley is a journalist and a loud mouth. He doesn’t know anything about boxing other than some boxing history and what he sees in the ring. He’s never boxed a day in his life and has probably never actually studied the intricacies of the fine martial art. And yeah, those HBO slaves DO call fights in an attempt to influence HBO viewers. Regardless, you can’t hold Manny Pacquiao responsible for how idiots like Jim Lampley or Max Kellerman call a fight.

This is another example of Arum destroying a fighters prime years, after getting the win (albeit very contentiously) against Pac it should be big name fights all the way for Bradley, but I have never heard of this Probodnikov (& i watch loads of fights), totally pointless match-up!

But for Arum’s feud with Floyd, Bradley could be in line to make the biggest payday of his career vs Mayweather, but that will likely never happen, I don’t know why any fighter with aspirations signs with Arum, he kills careers!!

Pretty lame Pac robs JMM in the fight before other than fans no one said a word. Bradley wins and everyone wants to make a big issue out of it. IF Bradley should not have won then Pac should not have won and the title should have been JMM’s to begin with.

Bradley should win this one, but if Provodnikov makes adjustments faster than in other fights (where he always expects to bully his opponent), then he may win a couple of rounds.

the only reason bradley doesnt have a following is because dipshi#ts keep saying and preaching he doesnt, hes a good fighter , better than most, why dont these guys start writing good things about him, a year of good ink and hes friggen mayweather, remember, people in general are stupid! they just read the news and
know no better

Bradley’s fight with Pac was closer than the talking heads at HBO wanted to say. I had Pac winning but I had 8-4 and a couple of rounds where I could have gone either way. I never liked Bradley because I do think he uses his head as a weapon and don’t care for his style but he seems to be a good guy and obliviously a talented fighter. He should take care of Ruslan rather easily.

I don’t get why Bradley is the bad guy here. He wasn’t one of the judges. So he didn’t admit that he really lost? so %$#@ing what!!! No one does!!! That’s boxing!!!

Plenty of guys have not admitted that they won bad decisions (Chavez Sr., Holyfield, Paul Williams) and no one hates them. By all accounts, Bradley is a decent man. This is just Pac-Mania run wild.

Posted February 3, 2013 1:34 pm

Despite your feelings about the outcome of his last fight, you must admit Tim is one of the few fighters who have ever emerged from a Pacquiao fight completely unscathed/unmarked (I had Bradley eking out the win). So I don’t understand why he isn’t back in with another 140/147 pound king-pin. The man deserves another big fight. And short of Mayweather, I think he would beat any of them. C’mon Arum, get the champ, Tim Bradley, a big-name fight!

Let me clear it up for u. The idea that pacman or Bradley “turn down fights” is a mirage.none of these guys go to the bathroom without asking daddy Arum first. He controls everything to make himself the most money possible. End of discussion

Wearerofallthebelts

I truly don’t understand Tim Bradley’s career strategy. This guy has now (according to media reports) turned down lucrative fights with Kahn and Petersen. He’s a great fighter too. I think he would’ve beaten both of them! Wtf? Good luck against this guy nobody knows. I’m sure you’ll sell lots of tickets. Lol…
