TitopaDonaire via KO Posted February 10, 2013 11:26 pmStarkMarroquin, rigo’s last opponent, is a very good boxer. Marroquin even knocked him down. Both have been tested. This is a bout I’ve been waiting for, 3 years! Posted February 10, 2013 10:49 pmPEEJFrom what I have seen from Rigondeaux, I just don’t think he will beat Donaire. I am just glad Donaire is actually fighting a live body, someone who folks actually believe that he will have a tough fight or even get beat. I am not one of those but just glad to see him actually stepping up Posted February 10, 2013 10:44 pmChicago dickbreathhello to all my bumboyfriends out there where is manny he is my heroe not that black floyd waymeather person Posted February 10, 2013 9:08 pmhecdogRigondeaux will expose and defeat the “Filipino Flake” Donaire for the one handed bully that he is. Smart boxing fans understand the value of amateur boxing experience. Rigondeaux fought and beat the best fighters in the world. He is a master fighter that understands boxing styles. He fought for a championship after just a handful of fights because of his extraordinary skills and ability. Forget the weak chin stuff, all fighters make take a little time to adjust from the headgear and bigger gloves to the professional gloves. Donaire made the wrong choice to fight Rigondeaux. Trust me, he is going to get outboxed and will become very frustrated when it’s all over. Speed, movement, technique, smarts, versatility and more importantly, Donaire’s recent fights against smaller, weaker, older and less skilled opposition will be the difference. I’ve seen the guy spar with some top professionals that were much bigger and southpaws, and you doubters will be surprised at how this guy can punch. Donaire is done! Posted February 10, 2013 8:41 pmwhiteboydayrca you make a damn good case for Nonito. He is definitely a beast. Im still thinkin toss up.The amateur career I mentioned makes Rigo one hell of a smart fighter. I think he will come out with a gameplan he will follow and with his insticts inside the ring I think its not gonna be easyt to catch him clean, he will definitly be prepared for the left hook.Anyway it wont be boring thats for sure.We the boxing fans have been so mistreated that its actually a little suprising when a good matchup is made and that is really sad Posted February 10, 2013 7:35 pmFloyd Is UNDEFEATEDFinally, a live body. This is an even fight. Rigo is the more skilled fighter IMHO, BUT Donaire is a tad faster with power and with Rigo’s untested chin that could be all Donaire needs. I’m rooting for Rigo. Rigo needs to bring his A game for sure. Posted February 10, 2013 7:24 pmboxing fanI think Rigo will be lightly floored couple of times but he manages to the 12th and Donaire wins by UD, AND RECEIVES THE CREDIT HE DESERVES!!!! Posted February 10, 2013 7:21 pmrcaOne cannot dismiss Rigo’s outstanding Olympic career, but to extrapolate that amateur success directly into the pro ranks is a big stretch at best, particularly when he goes against a fighter like Nonito. His ( Rigo) chin is suspect and this liability was well camouflaged by the head gear he is used to in the amateurs. His eleven pro fights against the kind of opponents fed to him by his corner to give him an initial boost in the pro ranks belied his glass chin but was exposed when he was staggered by one of his eleven opponents, who is not known as a power puncher like Nonito. He is now going against somebody who is highly ranked as one of the best fighters in the world and who has broken jaws and inflicted severe KO’s against world-class opponents much more seasoned than him (Rigo). Everybody know about Donaire’s vaunted left and the devastating effects it has against opponents when that left lands, but his other attributes as a well-rounded boxer are often overlooked such as his incredible stamina, blinding speed, fearlessness, armored chin and his widely under-rated right-hand which he used to put Nishioka down, Can Rigo win this fight – of course it is possible, But then, can pigs fly ?? Posted February 10, 2013 7:09 pmbubbalouieTo say he is average without his left hook is to say Joe Frasier was average without his and Ali was average without his jab and so on ,what a load of rubbish. Problem is for anyone is he DOES have that hook !! Posted February 10, 2013 7:02 pmHidalgoRigondeaux will lose by KO. Posted February 10, 2013 6:49 pmwhiteboydayRigo’s amateur career shouldnt be completely dismissed. Dude went a hundred fights without losing, twice! I know its just amateurs but that is a crazy stat. Its a toss up I think, but I know the casinos wont think so. Im guessin they will have Nonito at the very very least 3 to 1 Im thinkin probly more and I will be rite there bettin on Rigo. You always take the live dog and this is a perfect example Posted February 10, 2013 6:33 pmMNboxingFAN – SeanFirst real test? I wonder what it’s like to not know about boxing yet write about it? Donaire has faced plenty of tough opponents. You don’t get to the Top Ten PFP by fighting nothing but cream puffs!!! Regardless I am looking forward to this fight. Make it happen. Posted February 10, 2013 6:18 pmHappyboyHe wins that #1P4P. Posted February 10, 2013 4:53 pmHappyboyLet Nonito get paid and blast Rigo in 3 then face Mares later on the year. Posted February 10, 2013 4:52 pmHappyboyhookoffthejab – LMFAO! Tru that, Mares is a vicious ball breaker. Posted February 10, 2013 4:50 pmPorschethis will be one awesome fight, maybe the fight of year. Donaire by UD. Posted February 10, 2013 4:05 pmPatrick2The VERY well-schooled Rigo vs the naturally IMMENSELY-talented Donaire. The two top dogs at 122 — what a great match-up! Sure hope it finally happens so we can get some real clarity at Jr. Featherweight. I think Doniare will win, but it sure won’t be easy. Posted February 10, 2013 2:46 pmChicago guyThis underheight Rigon d joke will be like dwarf after Nonito knock his ass out hahahaha Posted February 10, 2013 12:36 pmChicago guyRigon d joke said that Nonito is ducking him now it is his chance if can prove somthing against Nonito. Posted February 10, 2013 12:34 pmrcaI wonder if Rigo’s writing hand will show some shaking when he signs the contract and realized later what he is going into . Posted February 10, 2013 11:54 amBig AlI’ve generally criticized Donaire for his poor quality of opponents in the last couple of years and for his poor performances and unwillingness to fight Rigo, but now it seems Rigo doesn’t want the fight and has to be pressured into doing it. Rigo has absolutely no standing or career accomplishments to be in a position to even THINK about passing on this fight. Other fighters who have worked harder and paid more dues pray for an opportunity like this. Rigo is a futureless bum if he fails to sign and I would wish him nothing but the worst in his boxing career if he fails to make this fight. Golden opportunities may only come once in a lifetime, and he’s actually stopping to think about it? Sign the paper, boy! Posted February 10, 2013 11:38 amHype materialWith a chin like that Rigo is going to meet the canvas in 3 Posted February 10, 2013 11:07 amLove-the-SportI agree. What an idiot. Donaire is a legit top 5 pound for pound fighter. How can anyone say that Donair has not been tested. What an idiot. The truth is that Guillermo Rigondeaux has never been tested. Who exactly has Rigondeaux fought to even deserve this fight? Why doesn’t Rigondeaux see what he can do against Arce or Darchiniyan first and see what happens? What a joke. Cuban fighter who is primarily an amateur fighter and never really test. Will see if Rigondeaux lasts 3 rounds. What an idiot. Posted February 10, 2013 10:20 amSREDMONDThis guys says Rigo will be Donaires first test … Here we go with another terrible article from a dumb ESB writer… Darchinyan was considered one of the best in the world when Donaires blew him out, he was undefeated and stopping everyone he faced… Suddenly because then underdog Donaire crushed him that win loses cache?? Nonito was supposed to go out like his brother but instead he kept killing guys ie Montiel Mathebula, and Rigo will soon be on that list… This bout is an anti-climax Donaire is going go blast this guy… Posted February 10, 2013 8:47 amKOrnermanDonaire will ko him, round 5 Posted February 10, 2013 7:47 amdextraplosivetake away donaire’s left hook and he’s a average fighter says the writer…. Posted February 10, 2013 2:30 amel chapoOne would have to be either a moron or lunatic to state that Donaire has not had any good opponents. Really?? If that is the truth, and Rigo is so great, why isn’t Rigo the one to be picking his opponents? Was it Donaire that begged for this fight or the other way around? I hate wasting my time arguing against sheer stupidity. Posted February 10, 2013 1:32 amhookoffthejabrigo in three …. Posted February 10, 2013 1:17 amBoxmaster“Rigondeaux will be Donaire’s first real test of his career” The exactly wrong order lol! Posted February 10, 2013 1:09 amChuckThis will be close but I think Donaire finally get exposed Rigo has to much skill and he’s not washed up like pretty all of the fighters Donaire has faced over the last three years….he ducked Mares but he will still catch that ass whooping by Rigo #BOOKIT Posted February 10, 2013 12:29 am |
