“Too much sparring has damaged his career.” – True. I think the Kronk gym wars from day 1 may have fizzled him out. Instead of focusing on the skills needed over the longterm Lee was fighting for his life in very tough sparring right out of the amateurs. As they say, don’t leave your best rounds in the gym. That’s hard to do when they’ve got 3 guys lined up wanting to knock your head off in succession.

Lee should’ve smoked this guy. I just don’t think he’s very strong physically and he never learned to work the angles to offset his opponent’s timing. In the end he’s a good UK domestic type fighter but just short of world class. Which is odd given he worked with Manny almost his whole career so he should have brilliant boxing skills.

Andy Lee has never anything above average. Steward, of all people, should have seen this. A nice kid but pedestrian all the way.

It’s tough to look good against an opponent like Fitzgerald was the other night, it’s a rarity for someone to fight with the tenacity that he showed, saying that lee did struggle at times, but I am trying to envisage how the big names in the weight would have coped with such a fighter on the night, I am not sure if any would have looked classier, they might have made it a bit easier, but I don’t think they would have shined.it was a win and he can look to bigger and better nights, but the division has some real good guys all vying for top spot, and I don’t think lee will ever get to be that man

Lee had a very good amature background. When he turned pro all eyes where on him ofcourse, and with Steward as his trainer even more so did people watch. But his change over from amature to pro was not very smooth it wasnt natural.Lee dosent seem to have the mind set for the elite aswell as other issues. Now Lee looks like he really fell from any real championship level boxing. One thing I noticed when Lee trained under Manny he would spar alot with the k-bros. it was noted.I wonder if that was such a smart idea the big slower hvwt. holding back, instead Lee might have been better with smaller faster guys pushing him.Making him sprint through 12rds of sparing instead of lumbering through it with the big guy.Because he did seem to have that wind problem as the fight went on aswell as looking indifferent at times around mid-rounds.Well lets see what happens Lee seems like a good kid and a nice guy I talked to people that met him and everyone had good things to say about him…but Im afraid he wont be around much longer, but I hope Im wrong.

He looked dead on his feet. He actually moved a bit then in round 9. His volume of punches in the middle of the ring was very low. He needed to be using combinations when fitzgerald came in and side stepping. He kept going back in straight lines. That’s my view anyway and I’m a leyman. No improvements in his fitness by the looks of it. The pace that fitzgerald set left him exhausted looking.

lol, Andy Lee’s stock has never been that high to begin with. He has aways been a decent european level fighter, nothing more.
