Mack? Really? I guess he deserves a tune-up…. Ward vs Dawson has boring written all over it!!Posted August 29, 2012 10:15 am
Being a calzaghe fan, I never used to like froch. But after the last few years and the fights that froch has been in, any true fan of boxing must be a fan on froch!!!Posted August 28, 2012 5:27 pm
Off Subject: Has Groves/Anderson II been signed? Did Stieglitz have a re-match clause in his Abraham contact? & if not why not? How about Thomas Oosthuizen vs the winner of Magee/ Dirrell? & lastly has EBU 168lb champion James Degale got an opponent lined up? Bute, Kessler, Groves, Anderson or Stieglitz could all give him a run for his money.Posted August 28, 2012 4:37 pm
don’t pay thenPosted August 28, 2012 4:14 pm
Mack is an ok tune-up fight if you’re ok with foregone-conclusions/guaranteed-wins but, if Froch only has 3 fights left like he said then why waste one of them fighting a guy that won’t even rank next to Magee when boxing historians look back on the cobra’s career?
Bika or Oostuizen would of been a nice head to add to the collection, Mack is like a David Starie or an Omar Sheika is on Zaghe’s resume.Posted August 28, 2012 3:34 pm
After all the tough fights he’s been in, I have no problem with Froch taking an easy defense for a change. He’ll be back with someone in the top of the division in his next fight (like Kessler or Bute). I’m not saying I’d PAY extra for this fight, but I’ll watch on Showtime or HBO.Posted August 28, 2012 3:12 pm
Long as Carl wins I don’t care what this guy says. Gotta say the comparison to Mayweather was hilarious :mrgreen:Posted August 28, 2012 2:58 pm
lloyd money mayweather
this writer is a nob! who really wanted to see floyd fight a washed up mosley, a underskilled ortiz, a small slow marquez, evan a damaged cotto, get ur head out the clouds. froch has had the toughest 6 fights in a row nearly ever!!!!peacePosted August 28, 2012 2:36 pm
^^^ from me i hate this new layout bring back old esb!!Posted August 28, 2012 2:21 pm
if any one after the run hes had deserves 1 easy fight just 1 its the cobra. how anyone can moan about it is a joke. the guy has always laid it all on the line for the fans. “are you not entertained” !!!Posted August 28, 2012 2:20 pm
garbage fight i don’t know why ppl says he deserve an easy fight as long as we pay to watch he doesn’t
This writer is quite annoying. Think I will be giving his retarded articles a miss in future. If any boxer in the world deserved a little easier fight than it’s the Cobra.Posted August 28, 2012 1:19 pm
Yes, this isn’t a great fight but Froch has fought quality opposition in every fight for the past few years. Certainly much better than Mayweather. I think this is a ‘ticking over’ fight until he gets the rematch with Kessler. In regards to MMA, it’s losing ground on boxing. Just look at UFC 151 and the insertion of Chael Sonnen as a world title challenger. Now that would have been a mismatch.Posted August 28, 2012 12:59 pm
I’m a big ‘Cobra’ fan and went to watch him fight Bute as I don’t live far from Nottingham but I won’t be paying to go and watch this. I’ll watch it on TV and shout for my man but i’ll save my £££’s for a more meaningful fight. I’m not gonna give Froch a hard time for this choice of opponent but I can’t help but feel slightly disappointed. I guess we’ve all been spoilt watching him consistently take on the best, win or lose. Hopefully he gets by Bute again next year then brings Kessler to Nottingham for the rematch. I’ll have no problem spending my £££’s then!!Posted August 28, 2012 12:52 pm
Good call Ganger that was one tough fight I forgot about the Pascal fight, but point is we get all this rhetoric about Froch being in tough fights he has not been in too many hard fights infact he has been too good for most of his opponents and has not had too take any beatings.
What a joke and you wonder why MMA is getting more popular.Posted August 28, 2012 12:14 pm
What about the Pascal fight?….Posted August 28, 2012 11:54 am
Agreed! Froch has only fought once in 2012 and that was an easy fight. So how many easy fights does he need this year. He has only had 2 really hard fights in his career vs Taylor, and Kessler.Posted August 28, 2012 11:46 am
I am really tired of this “writer” – the other day he sucked Wilder’s c–k and today it is little Floyd’s ditto.
The writer must be on crack or something like it. Has the writer forgot about Ortiz, Mosley, JMM, Baldomir, Gatti, Bruseles and so on?Posted August 28, 2012 11:44 am
