this bronner is a real braggard but he looks real good I dont understand if bronner can make lightweight why does every one want to move him up to welter weightmiddle weight light weight is his weight for now . which he seems pretty good at

There is no question that Broner posses athleticism, skills and is well , styles either make a fight simple or extremely difficult. Even Ali who beat most monster punchers had problems with a number of opponents because of style. The promoters have become more aware of this and in order to protect their investment pick fighters based on style and beatability. If Broner finds his way to welterweight undefeated, the real test is whether he can beat a slick, young 147 pound southpaw. I say this because of his stance which is ideal for traditional right handers but is not suited for southpaws. There are a number of other fighters that will be tested based on style, unless of course certain styles are avoided. Mayweather has become a master at that.

Enzo “Norman Wisdom” Cal is a fool who only had a one pony stable… He even though D Haye was rubbish and big Mac would beat him. Even after Haye demolished Bic Mac.. he still could not give credit where it’s due… that tells me he’s a stubborn fool.

Sorry but i think he did…. when all you want to do is… one punch… hold him…. time waist. Now when you keep calling yourself a living legend and put in a performance like B’Hop did against Joe Cal…. Then that’s embarrassing

BLUESMAN

Enzo Calzaghe must be smoking a large quantity of crack to compare Adrien Broner and Jeff Lacy. Enzo Calzaghe is proof that you can’t fix stupid.

The Truth

Broner is one ugly dude

Did Broner lose to Ponce de Leon, but the cards read Broner by judges decision. That should be a good rematch for Broner to solidify is standing with the public. Just like Mayweather-Castillo I, II.

Joe Calslappy

Joe Calslappy made slapping into an art. I prefer punchers like Golovkin, Mathysse, Broner..

Joe

Calzaghe did not embarress bernard hopkins…hopkins won that fight…and even if you want to say joe won, it wasnt in an “embaressing” fashion to the point he made hopkins look bad, hopkins put calz. on his ass

Joe Calzaghe was freakisly fast and hard to hit just too good of a boxer and was given no credit – Couldn’t beat Kessler, went in and beat him, couldnt beat Lacy , would lose easily by KO, EMBARRASSED HIM, couldn’t beat the great Bernard Hopkins, (REMEMBER HIM ? HE BEAT PAVILK, PASCAL, TWICE IN MY BOOK ) Joe embarrassed him , so how many times are you going to ask a guy to prove himself. Yes, NOW Ward would win, 5 years ago -wouldn’t be a fight Joe would have schooled him and ruined his career.

I agree that Broner appears to have all the tools and all that hype really isn’t him. You can see it almost pains him to brag , he’d rather let his skills do the talking but that said I don’t think they have the right to put him in the pfp catagory just yet. He needs to fight a top echelon guy. Like Manny & Floyd he is boosted and bolstered -up by carefully “hand-picking” opponents that he has absolutely NO CHANCE of losing to even if he has a bad night. Essentially guys with no power but have KO’s recorded because of accumulations of punches therefore he couldn’t even “get caught” ! Guys about 5 years past their prime or who have also beaten nobodys to get a title. They then say :”Well, he has fought all the title holders etc..etc..!” He cliams that going up a few pounds is NO BIG DEAL and in order to be considered a PFP guy , unfortunatley, he has to venture up or down …up to the Juan Manuel Marquez level or down to the Gamboa, Mikey Garcia, Juanma, level. Up, I doubt he can hang, down if he avoids Garcia who would beat him like a drum, he’d have a shot. He gets hit too easy and couldn’t dish to Marquez ….those toe-to-toe clowning sessions would end miserably, I’m afraid, Mikey Garcia wouild take his in/out jabs and feints then figure him out around round 4 and its canvass time round after round thereafter until they stop it. So he has a limited field but if his people avoid the tough fights they can move him to maybe #10 PFP.

Broner is all hype. he’s good, but not that good. First time he meets one of the tuff guys he will fall on his ass, his chin is open for big shots.

Ok, he may not be a bigot. lol.

Q – that’s your insecurities exposed. Broner and Lacy are both American, both hyped and both fighting welsh boxers. You bought the race card up with is a bit pathetic really.

LOL. Broner compared to Lacy…in what world?

Posted February 16, 2013 11:53 pm

Limey jay

He didn,t actually compare him to lacy at all really did he? As in he fights like Jeff lacy, all he was saying ( and I saw the show) was that people are talking this kid broner up ,hyping the fella…..well they did that to Jeff lacy, and you know what happened there?
All he was trying to say was that at this moment there’s a lot off buzz around broner, like there was lacy.
He wasn,t comparing the two fighters.
Non story really.
It just go,s to show how one little comment get spun out of context.

i was a fan of the fact that enzo was able to train his son to the top of the heap with no boxing background. and i think he’s even done well with some of the other guys he’s trained, as such i was prepared to listen to what he had to say re broner – until i read the quote “i’ve only seen two clips of him” – two clips enzo? thats what your opinion is based on? no wonder he is comparing a one note slugger with a slickster boxer – he knows not what he speaks

Oh, and Broner doesn’t need to move up in weight to prove anything. Hagler and Hopkins never did (okay, Hopkins did after living at 160 for most of his career). I don’t understand why some think fighters have to move up to be proven “good?” I say if you’re a name fighter, live in the division you’re most comfortable/best at, and those who need to prove something need to move up or down to get a crack at your name/title.

“Untested?!” What the heck was DeMarco — a tomato can? The fact is DeMarco was the kingpin at 135 — a world class fighter. Just because Broner dismantled him and made it look easy doesn’t indicate DeMarco was a slug or a paper champ, but rather is a testament of how good Broner truly is.

HHLondon

Not sure Ree’s can win and Enzo’s just backin his countryman, but he’s right about Broner. Still untested, too big for 135, and 140 and his eventual 147 is gonna show us what he’s all about. Trash talk aside, I like Broner and think he’ll be around a while.

Enzo had better go get him some EYEGLASSES. I’VE been touting BRONER for YEARS and I’m usually CORRECT. I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born and Enzo is one of the worst trainers. His son had MUCH talent and had a GREAT but never reached his FULL potential due to POOR training.

Is Enzo blind? Or has he just not seen Broner fight? It can only be one or the other.

lefthook89

@nicolas, how the f is calazaghes comparison to lacy correct? because they’re both African American? because as far as im concerned that’s the ONLY thing in common both fighters have. broner isn’t a one dimensional plodding slugger who uses his face as a shield like lacy, On top of being very athletic he actually has world class skills that’s only gonna get better as he matures. so on, cokezaghe isn’t correct in that regard. The blow must really be getting to his head

prideofvirginiabeach

Broner may or may not be Lacy, but Rees definitely has proven he isn’t Calazaghe. Broner wins.

ENZO IS OUT OF HIS MIND !!!!! LACY WAS A TOUGH SLUGGER, BRONER IS A SLICK , HARD PUNCHIN’ SPEEDSTER … TO COMPARE THE TWO IS RIDICULOUS !
