Who said Rees would destroy him?? I knew he would give him a enjoyable fight, which it was. It just wasn’t justified at 33-1. A lot of 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 fights have quick KO’s, but Rees made it competitive while it lasted. Of course bad habits are tough to break, so when he kept going forward with the head Broner’s great uppercut was going to land! Broner shows his offense more than Floyd, that’s WHY I see some competitive fights here and there. But he knows HOW to win, so if it gets tough he can win rounds. So far unless he is getting knocked down I think Broner is willing to trade some shots so his fights look more competitive. Because he makes alphabet champs and former champs look bad sometimes and then good fighters are listed as “bums” by casual fans…. Broner and Rees both deserve respect as a winner/loser here

Broner is definitely fun to watch. It’s like a braver version of Mayweather. Comes in and attack and not just lay on the ropes. He is also coming in a pefect time where there alot of good fighters at 140.

Wha?

Anonymous: Rios came into fights150+ all the time… even missing weight at 135… Broner is making weight… what’s your point? Everyone boils down, and going up 15 pounds is normal.

And Rios is probably coming in at 160. They all boil down to gain an advantage, not just Broner.

Burns is too big and will bully Broner all night and Burns is only getting stronger at light weight

Rios would kill him. Broner come into the fight weighing 150, there is a reason he is fighting at 135 instead of 140 or 147

mathysse, JMM and rios or alvarado would test him

fierce and game effort from Rees but Broner’s ability to become a “bully” in the ring –despite the talent and reflexes to execute a masterful boxing-punching performance– has become his breakaway talent. this little brother is already too big for lightweight. if he wants a challenge, he’ll have to move up to 140lbs and i’m not too sure there are any truly risky challenges there either(?) but i’d Love to see Broner v. Marquez v. Mathysse v. Rios or Khan at 140lbs with that “bullying” style. i give Broner the edge in each one. he’s only getting stronger as he moves up and eagerly relying on this power to overwhelm his opponents. he’s become a top-5 P4P on my list. i’m just not sure who he bumps down first: Martinez, Marquez, Mayweather?! SOG remains solid at #2.

If he wasn’t calling out Burns you would say he was ducking him. When he destrous him you will say he is ducking people at 140. No win situations. If by some miracle he loses you’ll say he was overrated. Smh…..boxing fans lol

Broners defense didnt look that great against rees, rees was over matched. He looked great though, i give you that.

I agree 100%. He is following floyds pattern down to the penny. This reminded me of the size difference betweeen marquez and floyd.

They call Broner the “Can Man” cause his resume is full of cans, tomato cans.

Jerk, Jerk, Jerk, can great talent be combined with humility, can a fighting spirit be combined with a human spirit. We guess it’s to much to ask from Floyd’s clone!!!

i say

burns is much taller with better reach, one of the best jabs around and stamina of a kenyan….. non stop punching for 12 rounds. i can see burns out working this kid easily if he doesnt get caught, most of the people on here doesnt realise how good burns really is.

Bully is the right word. Guy has skills but he’s just picking little people to showcase those skills rather than test them. Typical Floyd Mayweather clone…in all aspects!

lol burns has even less power than rees…..plus broners defence is incredible when he uses it, ut onjce he tasted rees’ power he knew he could afford to take chances. vs someone like rios or matthysse you’d see his D shine

C’mon son! Broner wasn’t even trying. He was playing in there.

If Burns gets to Broner as often as Rees did he’ll be in big trouble, but I suspect he will have more sens than that against Burns, don’t believe he doesn’t watch DVDs of his apponants to see that.If this guy thinks he’s in the same league as Floyd he’s delusional,on this showing he’s far too easy to hit and has poor footwork, his size allows him to get away with it with little guy’s,but at 140 147 he will be punished big time.

What was so surprising in this fight is how many of Broner’s shots missed and how easy Rees found it to hit Broner, especially considering the height and 7 inch reach disadvantage Rees had.The key difference in this fight was not skill, but power. If Rees carried decent power at the weight,Broner would have been really tested. This fight shows us nothing new about Broner.Burns is a much bigger, stronger guy that Rees, and carries good power, but compared to what i saw in Broner last night,he’s a LOT slower.Having said that,Rees managed to catch Broner seemingly at will,if Burns connects Broner won’t be just smiling, but the question is,can Burns connect on Broner? I think it will be a much closer fight than people think, but that’s question to be answered when or if Burns can get past vasquez, who is a tricky fighter. If Burns beats Vasquez,i think he’s got every chance of beating Broner.I think Abril would have a good chance of upsetting broner too.
