HappyboySo Arum turned down a fight against Mares to have 2012 fighter of the year, #5 P4P champion, 3 X world champion in 3 divisions vs a WBA champion with 11 fights and an awesome amateur record, seems to me we have ourselves a lynching here gentleman. Posted February 23, 2013 2:44 pmEugene BacasmasI perceived this fight could be entertaining if both would let their hands go. But knowing Rigo and Donaire’s fights, both are tactical fighters and pick spots when to let go meaningful punches. I think Donaire carry more pop than Rigo. His left hook is one, if not the best punch in boxing right now. This is bad news for Rigo ’coz he’s susceptible to left hooks. Rigo has speed and very good defense, though. I also see Donaire sticking his jab more often to frustrate the smaller Rigondeaux. AnonymousVERY GOOD FIGHT, WORTH PAYING FOR…FIALLY WE GOT OURSELVES A REAL HARDCORE BOXING MATCH… I WILL GO SEE THIS FIGHT LIVE IN RADIO CIT HALL…HOPEFULLY THE RING GIRLS ARE THE ROCKETTS….LOL Posted February 23, 2013 1:44 amTitopaFight Aficionado – Curious as to why you’re picking Rigo? I’m going with Donaire…but I’d like to know what you see in Rigo that makes you believe he’ll win. I’m not trying to argue, just want a perspective. Posted February 22, 2013 8:33 pmboxing fan..Donaire, but it will be a huge fight. Posted February 22, 2013 5:20 pmRaidRYour nick name explains your racial mentality. Nowhere is Manny mentioned but here you are, must be a Joy nutthugger. Posted February 22, 2013 5:17 pmRaidRI just want to point out that Nishioka isn’t Rigondeaux. Posted February 22, 2013 5:14 pmHidalgoGigi should wear a helmet. He’s gonna need it. Posted February 22, 2013 4:56 pmFight Aficionado“If it wasn’t for the public cry and money he’s getting paid, Donaire would have avoided this fight at all costs.” – Donaire had enough soft touches. Mares and Rigo were the only acceptable opponents at this point. After declining Mares the only choice was to face Rigo or the cries of ‘duck’ would’ve become screams. I’m sticking with my prediction of a Rigo win here. Glad they hashed out the VADA/USADA ruckus and cherrypicking. Either way now we’ve got an excellent fight and as long as this fight happens I won’t be calling Donaire a ducker. Posted February 22, 2013 4:47 pmAnonymousHave to go with Donaire on this one…. Posted February 22, 2013 4:33 pmTitopaEVERYONE who’s fought Donaire has said (pre-fight) they can “do this and do that”…but the moment they’re actually in front of him they see how fast and powerful Donaire is, thus, the become turtles who become deathly afraid of sticking their heads out. Nishioka had just destroyed Gonzalez, said he’d do the same to Donaire…but what happened?? Nishioka was terrified, the moment he tried to “to win” was the moment he got DROPPED and STOPPED!! Same will happen to Rigo. Posted February 22, 2013 3:27 pmAnonymousrigo might say he going to do this and do that to donaire but once he in the rig with him it all going to change he going to respect donaire left hook like everybody else did if he dont then he going to get clipped i see donaire doing feints try to make rigo come out his comfort zone for he can counter him but donaire shown he can be hit but he never been hurt or in danger but if rigo can get to donaire body i think rigo can hurt him down there if he can get to it but he going to have to take a risk of doing it tho donaire got a good uppercut but i like rigo alot he got great skills i dnt see him beating donaire tho Posted February 22, 2013 3:14 pmAnonymousi think donaire will win i like rigo but i think donaire experince at the pro level and size i see donaire studying rigo figure his style out and go from there rigo cant win being defensive he got to let those hands go and take risk rigo got the style to give donaire problems donaire just got to watch out for rigo body shots i see donaire doing more taking the lead more and throwing more if rigo take a risk he going to get counter that why people said mares would of been the tougher fight cause he would of did more then rigo and been more agressive take more risk mares got a sloid chin he tougher and more heart then rigo Posted February 22, 2013 3:04 pmKOrnermanRigondeaux will pose a few problems for a round or two then The Flash KO’s him with a dynamite left hook on his weak chin. Posted February 22, 2013 12:42 pmProud AfricanRigo’s body shots will take out Donaire. Donaire will be Pacquiaod. Posted February 22, 2013 12:16 pmAnonymousThe Transition from amateurs to the Pros by the Cubans has been pathetic.. not a single Cuban Amateur has actually amounted to much in the Pro’s once they started taking on top tier opponents… This one will be no different… Nonito by Stoppage.. Posted February 22, 2013 11:14 ampugfanmost likely with a left hook. Posted February 22, 2013 11:02 ampugfani like Donaire in this bout by a knock out. Rigondeaux is over rated in my opinion. Posted February 22, 2013 4:38 amhookoffthejabeither way the WINNER will be by way of KTFO …… Posted February 22, 2013 2:42 amLeeDonaire will make this one look easy. Donaire has too many physical advantages. He will pick Rigo apart from the outside and rigo will be defensive the entire fight. Rigo is not a pressure fighter and nonito is too fast and has too much reach for rigo to have any chance from the outside. Posted February 21, 2013 11:43 pmSoapThis fight will be a clean fight. Posted February 21, 2013 10:39 pmAnonymousThis is a good fight, interesting, Boxing. Posted February 21, 2013 10:32 pmAnonymousRigo looks tiny next to Nonito at the Press conference.. Posted February 21, 2013 10:17 pmvarnishnot mocking Rigondeaux, just noting that his pro record is not impressive yet. hope it is as good a fight as you predict Posted February 21, 2013 9:37 pmhecdogDismantles Donaire I meant. Posted February 21, 2013 8:40 pmhecdogDonaire has never fought a guy with the skills and style that Rigondeaux has. It’s not just the amateur background, it’s his style of fighting. He is going to make Donaire miss all night. Rigondeaux just hasn’t had the opportunity to fight on the big stage, because of his management and promoter, but if you see this guy live like I have, you are going to be surprised at how he dismantles Rigondeaux. He has made the transition to the professional ranks, but not too many fighters have wanted to fight him, and those that did couldn’t beat him. This guy is hungry and will win the biggest fight of his life. All of you that have been mocking Rigondeaux and his unproven professional experience and outstanding amateur background will be in for a shock. Rigondeaux will drop Donaire first, and win a unanimous decision or late round KO. Best bet your money now. Posted February 21, 2013 8:39 pmTitopahecdog – Remember this, the ONLY thing “GREAT” about Rigo, is his AMATEUR record….there’s absolutely NOTHING great about his professional boxing record. He won’t be allowed to wear head gear, he’ll have to land more than pitty pat punches to win and this isn’t a 4 round fight with 2 minute rounds…he’s going into a FIGHT. Donaire possess concussive power and lighting speed. Rigo will taste defeat. Posted February 21, 2013 7:24 pmTitopahecdog – First you’re claiming Donaire is/was “ducking” Rigo, and now that he’s signed to fight him, you’re STILL finding ways to discredit him? Damn! You are truly a Nonito HATER….it’s obvious. I personally give them BOTH props for making this fight. I think Rigo is a good fighter, but NOT great…he may have been a great amateur, but this isn’t the amateurs, this is the PROS and Donaire is quite simply the BETTER PRO (of the two), he’s beaten the FAR better opposition (in the pros) and he will STOP Rigo in this fight. Once Rigo feels the power, he’ll turn into a turtle who’s scared to poke his head out. Posted February 21, 2013 7:19 pmvarnishFor all his amateur hype, Rigondeaux hasn’t fought anyone in the pros. Donaire has looked great since moving up in weight – should be a great fight! Posted February 21, 2013 7:07 pmhecdogFinally, Donaire will get exposed for the fighter he is. If it wasn’t for the public cry and money he’s getting paid, Donaire would have avoided this fight at all costs. Rigondeaux has all the tools and defensive skills that will make Donaire look foolish. And I guarantee you the first guy to get dropped in this fight will be Donaire by a straight left hand. Watch, and you’ll see it. Too many people aren’t familiar with Rigondeaux, they don’t realize that this guy has been fighting forever, and is the best amateur boxer of all time. Wiped out Mares, and if they had fought 12 rounds, he would have destroyed and K’OD him. And if you think international amateur boxing experience against the world’s best doesn’t matter, you’ll see on April 13th. Boxing is all about styles, and Rigondeaux has the perfect style to make Donaire look bad and clumsy. That left hook of Donaire won’t come close. Fighters that have the unique defense that Rigondeaux possesses frustrate power punchers. Donaire is a one armed fighter. His right hand and jab is never consistent, and he gets hit, and in this fight, he will get hit. Donaire will have a lot of trouble with the southpaw style, especially one that can move and is as slick as they come. The weaving that Rigondeaux has mastered will have Donaire swinging at air, and he will get countered. Bet your money now! Posted February 21, 2013 6:47 pmTitopalargo – I agree! Rigo will look good until he gets hit…we’ll then see a fighter who’s sole purpose in the bout is to survive. Posted February 21, 2013 6:16 pmlargoThis is the closest thing to a mismatch… Posted February 21, 2013 6:07 pmlargoRigo doesn’t have neither the professional experience nor the chin to compete with a murderous puncher like Nonito. Posted February 21, 2013 6:06 pmFight AficionadoTitopa is correct. They’ll do VADA and USADA testing. At Twitter this morning guys who were at the press conference were saying it wasn’t signed till right before they got underway. Apparently Arum was running around like a headless chicken to both camps. I’d pay movie price to see that. Posted February 21, 2013 4:48 pmFight AficionadoStoked we finally get this fight. I said before Donaire had to fight Rigo or Mares next, no other opponents or else he was a cherrypicking ducker. He stepped up so good for him. Gonna be a banging show. Posted February 21, 2013 4:46 pmTitopaMNboxingFAN – Sean – Wasn’t that Rigo didn’t want to test, it was that he wanted the contract translated into Spanish so that he can understand what he’s signing…nothing wrong with that. Last I heard, they BOTH signed and the fight is ON. Posted February 21, 2013 4:41 pmTitopaJoey – Let me guess, you were one of those who said Donaire was “ducking” Rigo right? Posted February 21, 2013 4:40 pmJoeyNonito is a little diva. When he fought Arce, he stated he didnt care what he took. Now all of a sudden he’s worried Posted February 21, 2013 4:30 pmAnonymousRigo, like Gamboa are steriods PEDs abusers.. Posted February 21, 2013 3:34 pmgooglerishI like them both, but the way I see this playing out? It’ll be kind of a chess match the first 3 rounds at which point they will both be in a comfort zone and finally trading by round 4. Round 5 Nonito will catch Rigo with one of those “where the f#ck did that come from?” shots, Rigo will struggle to stay on his wobbly legs, Nonito will back him up into the ropes where he’ll commence to throwing punches in bunches, Rigo will bravely try to counter but get caught with too many hard shots in the process at which point the ref will jump in and hold Rigo on his feet. Fight is over. Posted February 21, 2013 2:24 pmMNboxingFAN – SeanLast I heard was Rigondeaux hadn’t agreed and signed to the VADA random drug testing. His camp was saying the delay was due to the fact they needed more time to read the document. Donaire’s camp was saying if he didn’t sign then there wouldn’t be a press conference. So we’ll see. I follow Donaire on FaceBook and will have to look again to see what he’s saying. Should be a good fight though with Donaire coming out on top. Posted February 21, 2013 2:14 pmboxing fanAnonymous@ yeah, I was one of the believers. I always knew Donaire is going to fight Rigo, just a matter of time.
