good point. if there was ever a matchup that required the most experienced and responsible ref available, This Is It. i really appreciate Alvarado and hope he ducks more often than he ever has in previous bouts. Rios is Rios. i never anticipated a particularly long career for him and his previously lackluster performances could be a sign that he’s already lost his brutal edge BUT if he hasn’t, the most experienced and responsible ref available is a must.

Agreed. You’re not overestimating anything. Everyone is pretty much in agreement that this will be a very savage fight. It’s being compared to some of the greatest wars in history. Like it was said above, if this fight does not end early, we will witness something truly extraordinary, and there’s a real chance these fighters health and safety will be at risk. I hope the ref does his job, but other than that, there’s not much else that can be done. If it needs to come down to it, hopefully one of these guys will take a knee, like Cotto took a knee against Margarito.

Broner fought Ponce De Leon. People like to say he really lost but he didn’t. And yeah Deontay Wilder has really low level opposition. No one should care about him or talk about him even until he shows us something for real.

Unless the fight ends early most likely one or both of them will never be the same again. These guys just have too much heart and they love to fight. How much is it going to take to back Rios up? Can you see it happening? Even Chavez backed up against Meldrick Taylor.

More like fight of the decade candidate. This is seriously on level with some of the most savage fights ever in history. It

Much like others have express I’m also concern for the well being of these two young fighters..Im a fan of both and I would like to see them come out of their bout alright to have the privilege of watching them engage in battle against the other top guys in their weight class..good luck to both but Im going with Rios on this one..War Bam-bam!

if Rios is able to recapture his previous ferocity and conditioning, this is gonna be a brutal WAR. i’m leaning towards Alvarado who leaves it All in the ring while Rios has been arriving a little short-handed lately BUT if he’s able to recapture his previous form and ferocity, both fighters will be leaving a big piece of themselves in the ring on fight-night. if i’m not overestimating either fighter’s power and ferocity, i’m actually a bit concerned for their long-term health following this collision.

IMO assuming they both come in in top shape rios gonna f alvarado up. toe to toe on the inside rios has the shorter straighter punches and better tech and i dont see ppl bring up the fact rios resume absolutly s on alvarados

If I see Alvarado back Rios up I will just lose it. Imagine how incredible of a sight that would be!

Sure, it won’t hurt him to get more cut. But I don’t think that’s going to help him here. It doesn’t look like he tires out. In this fight, heart will make the difference. That’s it. The fighter with more heart and the one who exerts his will power more will win. Remember, these guys are going to stand directly in front of each other. I can picture it already: forehead to forehead with tight, crisp, short punches. One of them will break down, and I doubt strength and conditioning will be the reason.

Rios is FAT! He doesn’t stay away from tortillas. His diet is flour tortillas, charro beans, spanish rice and chingos of pork. This kids not cut no muscle tone in his abs, back or shoulders. I can’t remember but I think he’s from Oxnard, CA. and everyone that’s come out of there is FAT! Fernando Vargas – FAT! Chris Arreola -FAT! Puros Mexicanos que no tienen el impenio de tener un cuerpo de un atleta. He likes to make fun of other fighters and has been seen ridiculing them. But he needs to take a good look at himself and stop making EXCUSES for his short comings. Imparticularly his weight. Stand up and be a professional RIOS take your craft serious. I have yet to ever see Floyd, Bernard, or Sergio out of shape these are athletes that have made their sport their life not a hobby. Stop wasting our time if you’re not going to show up in shape. If this is the case Alvarado will give you the rude awakening that you need to either shape up or get the F out.

This should be a war. Rios is facing a guy his own size. Alvarado is a beast himself. I haven’t seen Rios forced back on his heels. I doubt he can fight like that & I think Alvarado is strong enough to do it. But this is an evenly matched fight. I have wanted to see this one for a few years now.

That’s not happening. Rios will fight Alvarado toe to toe. That’s a fact.

Honestly I don’t even think these guys fully know what they’re getting into. Just off face value, this is one of the most violent fights I have ever heard of.

Kidney Digga

i think rios could take it as long as he is good at the weight. the kind of performance against antillon or acosta would see him get a win but if he looks anything like his last fight he will get stopped due to mile high’s power.

I think Rios is a better pure inside fighter then Alvarado is..I see Brandon busting up Mike’s face for a late round tko..should be a great fight regardless who wins..

big head

yeah rios got a good chin but if he keep getting hit eventually he going to get hurt by sombody that strong and can bang like mike rios got to show somthing different i still pick him to win slighty it a chance this fight might not go the distance then a chance it could go the distance cause both of them is tough and got heart in no quit in them

Should be great fight. If Rios just plans on eating Alvarado’s shots and walking through them he could be in trouble. Alvarado can bang. He is a better boxer than he showed vs Prescott. Bias here but I hope Alvarado pulls this off.

The Best!

Rios should out box Alvarado.
