Anonymous, I agree with you. It sucks as it taints the sport, and all sports for that matter. Also taints not only the reputations of great fighters, but great wins, casting doubt.

ped improve athletic performance in every way strength speed the ability to train harder they even have them to improve endurance .and all of these put would help improve punch resistance

looks like maywather would have beat manny now that manny been koed,. But the fact is before manny had been koed and looked to be a tough fight., mayweather just wouldnt chance it . Just like he wouldnt chance what seemed to be a few other good matchups .He fears lossing that 0 . Now the fight has lost much of its appeal . Mayweather i9s still unbeaten while pacman has been koed badly . I did always think mayweather was to big for pacquia ..But when he was going good no fighter was as exciting as pacquia

I believe PEDs do improve a fighters ability to take a punch. Do we have any experts on the subject?

I think the fight is a mismatch. Its nothing more than the continuation of the Fraud circus! Boycott PPV!

Another wanna-be writer trying to keep Pac relevant by mentioning him with Mayweather’s name. Pac had his chance and lied to get out of it. That is a fact. Manny demanded a 30 day cut-off, was told he was on tape giving blood 24 days before his previous fight, and so then demanded a 24 day cut-off. Floyd said 14. Manny left negotations, immediately signed to fight a bum and then scheduled to give blood 14 days before the fight. He’s on tape giving blood 14 days before that fight. He coulda scheduled it before he even started training. When a week earlier he was scared that he would be weak if he gave blood that close to a fight. Now Floyd is continuing to fight the best in the world and just got rewarded with the largest contract for any athlete EVER.

Its impossible to discuss a Manny vs Mayweather fight at this point with much fervor.. This fight was predicated on both men dueling for the #1 slot in boxing which was an intense discussion up until Pac’s 2 fights with Marquez culminating in him being laid out..Watching Pac struggle with Marquez in that 3rd fight made it HARD to see him possibly coping with a practioner of Floyds caliber NOW that he has been knocked cold, Pac Man finds himself having to restore his reputation and all roads lead to Marquez… Beating Bradley is not a requisite in my mind because consensus was that he was the victim of a hijacking… Manny needs a resounding win in order to get the drumbeat going, right now guys have switched o trying to force Floyd up the scale no one is going to beat him at WW which is his best weight class…

In reality, I don’t think Manny has a chance , never did ! Too small and akward for Mayweather. I’m not a huge fan of either guy so I bring a totally unbiased opinion. What I do think is that everyone buys into the fact that Floyd is afraid to fight Manny and Floyd creates a subtle “air” that he may be, and the purse just keeps rising and rising for a potential bout. I think they back slap each other alot and are carefully orchestrating the largest single paydays in the history of professional sports, on ouir dime ! Think of a trilogy ? Think of the money they’d both earn ?

Arum here got nothing to do with the fight happening or not as of now because mayweather is the one who is giving another condition here , he is saying manny needs to beat jmm and breadly first so arum has absolutely nothing to do for possible manny vs mayweather … Mayweather is giving us yet another bellony and the his fans are telling how mayweather shouldn’t fight manny because he will beat him???? Than if you don’t want the fight to happen why the f##k are you blaming arum?????

Another demand from Mayweather….Great! why am i not surprised. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

No point in that fight happening because Floyd wins that fight easy. I would rather see him face Canelo than Pac. If Floyd fought Pac and after beating him everybody will say Pac was old or Pac was to small and Floyd was supposed to do that. There are always excuses after Floyd wins. I remember how folks used to say Hatton would beat Floyd until the fight was signed and then there was all sorts of excuses on why the fight should of never happened

Posted February 26, 2013 2:01 am

PEEJ

You mistake that quote. Floyd said he would not put money in Arums pocket meanting he would not purchase the PPV fight. He would work with Arum but Arum really does not want to work with Floyd as shown in the past. He also really does not like working with Golden Boy either.

Posted February 26, 2013 1:59 am

Adrian

I really don’t understand some mayweather fans like “the prince” who say “stop talking about a manny vs mayweather fight because it will never happen” so you say the fight won’t happen because mayweather won’t give money to arums pocket so than you admit mayweather won’t fight no matter what, and all that testing ,split and that was all bellony from mayweather but a this time you were accusing manny for not wanting to fight???? Mayweather said it dosent want to give arum any money but than he said he will fight manny if he beats breadly and jmm?? Why are you so afraid to see the fight ??? Say what you want but mayweather vs manny would still be the biggest fight out there so why the hell don’t you want to see?
Are you scared mayweather will lose ?
If you are not scared than ask for the fight to happen and stop making escuses !!!

Boxtradamus,
I assume your statement was a joke to get everyone worked up. I did laugh thinking someone might actually really think something that stupid was true.
Fights dead, but there is still a lot of interest in it based on the responses the topic still gets.

Nobody wants to see Mayweather and Pac fight now. Ive stuck to this and will continue to say it, Floyd toys with Pac. Anybody who is all offense and no defense Floyd picks apart and that is exactly what Pac is, all offense and no defens

“The criteria Mayweather requires before he and Manny meet is reasonable” No, it isn’t reasonable. Why? Because it would be at least two years before Pacquiao completed those two fights. And even if he won them, who’s going to want to see Mayweather and Pacquiao fight then? There’s already plenty of disinterest because boxing fans have been jacked around for so long regarding a Mayweather/Pacquiao bout. No, it isn’t reasonable. If Floyd wants to fight him at all, he should do it as soon as possible. Get it over with boys so we can go on with our lives..

Posted February 25, 2013 11:28 pm

The Prince

Marquez wouldn’t be smart to give Manny another shot, after winning in the fashion that he did. He’ll be smart to either take a couple more fights then retire. Of course, if Arum offers him enough money, he might take the fight after all, giving Manny a chance to ruin his secure legacy as the best Mexican fighter of his generation. The fight between Floyd and Manny won’t happen. Floyd made that clear during his interview with Brian Kenny when Floyd said he didn’t watch the PPV version of Manny/Marquez 4 because he didn’t want to put money in Arums pocket. Stop talking about this fight, it’s not going to happen.

Its still the biggest fight in boxing and the fight would smash all ppv records.

By the way. Marquez should walk away from any future Pacquiao fights. It’s been proven that it’s tough for him to get the judges on his side, and what could be better than winnin the way he did in the forth fight?

This fight is dead. Manny isn’t going to breath any life into this fight without Floyd’s help. That is, Floyd’s going to have to lose a couple of fights before anyone wants to see it at this point.

“..then go straight to prison for FREE rather than PAY for attorney fees and spend alot of time in court possibly missing a PAY DAY…” Lol. The groupism never stops. Jr went to a county jail (Not a state or federal prison). Jail isn’t free. In jail one loses something money can’t buy & that is the “freedom” we enjoy outside of jail. The guy was fined, probably required to take classes(like Uncle Roger) & guaranteed his lawyer(s) made plenty of $$. $$ shouldn’t be an issue w/ Jr. Plea bargains happen because the defense attorney doesn’t think he can win a trial.

Happygirl,
Here you go again stfu. The only need to do is take the fight no more alibis because Pacquiao got no problem of accepting all Fraudie’s demands.

Boxtradamus

“Apparently our legal system felt there was some truth to these allegations, because, he was incarcerated for a short time.” – Nope. Apparently you’ve never heard of a plea bargain. It was a SMART business move for Floyd to work it out where he could get a Fight in getting PAID and then go straight to prison for FREE rather than PAY for attorney fees and spend alot of time in court possibly missing a PAY DAY….Mayweather makes the CORRECT move once AGAIN.

How can you be a fan of Floyd he’s like an accountant. At least back up a real fighter seeking best matchups and going for the KO

“…The criteria Mayweather requires before he and Manny meet is reasonable..” Let this fight die. These are just more in a LONG line of demands for a fight neither camp really wants. I don’t think the author has got it.

Did you guys catch that UFC woman armbar her way to another thrilling triumph? She is a gladiator! Entertainer! Floyd is a technician, businessman and smart arse. Gladiator, entertainer? Not a chance! He ducked the fighter of the decade for years, for whatever reasons. Pure boxing fans don’t take these fighers seriously. Pacquiao is not a technician. Gladiator, entertainer? Pacquiao rocks the house!
