How old is mago at the moment, as a boxing follower, let his coach train him some skills some people say are not there. He has already an advantage that, he is already in the system- Good luck Mago

fun to watch because he can take it and dish it out….not championship caliber but exciting and maybe will learn to box with experience

Mago is Russian. Eastern Euros own HW boxing right now and the Brits are on the rise or at least an entertaining challenge. The US is way ways behind. Widler wont fight anyone. God knows what happened to the El Nino Rodgriguez hype job. Jennings is up there with Thor Hammer, old man Thompson would beat them both as would Michael Grant which does not say alot. Cunningham will get smashed. Then their is soon to be KOed Arreola. The best prospect in North America is Stiverne and he is from Canada…………..they can’t buy Mago he is Russian.

Exiled Yank

Got to love America – Our US has a Slavic surname. Then again, the only true Americans have last names like Yellowcorn, and Runningdeer.

Yes Elanore retarded just like your mother. I am a boxing fan, all respect to Browne and other guys with perfect records. I would just like to see them mix it up with each other

Yes Eleanore retarded just like your mother. I’m a boxing fan I want to watch good fights. All respect to Browne and the others with perfect records but I simply would like these guys to mix it up more.

Browne Town

Rod – Browne wants to step up his comp. He has called out the best Aussies, Leapai, Haumono, Meehan. He has called out the Brit prospects, Towers, Fury, Price. No one is answering. It’s not like any of these guys are world class or in line for a K-Bro. He is trying to ramp it up by even calling on names, all be it old guys in Toney and Fraudley. I don’t see what more he can do to step up his comp. In the meantime he needs to stay busy fighting anyone with the sack to get in the ring with him.

Why the F didn’t Camerelle go professional. He as beaten everyone…………literelly everone whose name does not end in KBro. He could have been much better than Pulev, Helenius, Solis, Price, Mago. He beat them all. Still too small for Wlad

Adrian…. but byrd was nearly ten years ago when mcline was in better knick

pete and alonzo, he’s made the US his home so I don’t see nothing wrong with him sporting WBC american belt.

Bend You Over and Take You to Browne Town

The guys who say Browne lacks skills, have no idea. Like the rest of us who have no idea if he has skills. When someone lasts long enough in the ring with him we will know for sure. He has improved dramatically since he went 12 with Tillman and started beating up Towers in sparring over in the UK. He tries to be patient in his fights but it isn’t his fault that when he lands his first decent hit, the other guy folds like deck chairs on the Titanic. It’s hard for him to get names on his record when all the so-called prospects and contenders are running scared.

rod…Agreed.Theres plenty of good fights out there but guys dont want to take chances.Theres also lots of fun fights aswell like Mago vs Browne, fights that lack real skill but would be great to watch. And fun fights can be great for the sport, gets the non-fans into it brings life back in the game.

Adrian

Rod mcline dropped a lot of other good haveys before too..
He got robed against Byrd too he hurt peters and he dropped areola too, so mcline is not a taxi driver
He is very tricky because of his size

Adrian

Ok so now being exiting is bad for haveyweight because it won’t take you far??lol …and the same people that are saying this use to bi@tch about the klitchkos playing safe and are not exiting ? Lol ..you asked for exitment than celebrate the “exiting”haveys like mago and wilder be amuse you asked for it!

Magomed is awful!

Posted March 16, 2013 12:19 am

rod

Mago got outboxed and knocked down by 42 year old Mcclean before mcclean did his knee or was ordered to go down by his boss. Fury, Price maybe even Lucas “i have fought no one except taxi drivers” Browne would beat him

Posted March 15, 2013 11:07 pm

rod

This division is becoming frustrating. Boxers with tallent and potential just seem to fight taxi drivers. Arreola vs Sti, verne………..finally. Mago should take on Browne. Wilder vs Price, Fury vs Pulev after he gets past Cunningham. Perez vs Boytsov, old michael Grant vs Ustinov. Haye vs Ademek, Thompson vs Jennings. So many good fights. These boxers are being managed like ultra low risk stocks then they want to get a title shot without facing any real opponents ie Pianetta, Charr

Mago vs Browne sloopy as city snow on the second day…but great fun to watch.

Posted March 15, 2013 10:14 pm

For Real

They are all running scared of Lucas Browne. Browne would clean out half these “prospects” if any had the sand to step in the ring with him.

“Price & possibly Wilder if he can ever dare to step up his level!” – KL, I agree. Still not off the Price bandwagon despite the KO loss. Both guys are athletic, quicik, and big dudes who are punchers. Just wish Wilder would face someone who’s not an actor in The Walking Dead.

mago has a huge following growing. the guy is on friday night fights all the time DELIVERING the knockouts!!!! yes the heavyweight division has a ton of entertainment in it.

Pulev is coming! The best one yet!

Posted March 15, 2013 8:18 pm

This is probably his level. Any higher his lack of boxing skill will be opened up. I like the idea of browne or another option could be mitchel or dimetrenko

Textbook Hayelord

I don’t rate Mago too high but he is an exciting fighter for sure.
I’d like to see him against Chisora at some point and whatever you say about his ability at least he’s fighting better guys than Deontay “Gene” Wilder has been destroying, why is Wilder’s competition so spectacularly poor?

KL

Fight Aficionado……….I agree the heavyweight division is shaping up nicely……………although once the dust settles whether any of the prospects can give Wlad (I think Vitali has retired even though he hasn’t officially announced it yet……..but the indications are there!) a match remains to be seen.
Even though Price got shocked by Thompson a few weeks back…………his skills and punching power mean that David Price should be firmly back in the mix pretty soon.
Mago’s punching power is exciting………but he lacks the skills to be competitive at higher levels I feel.
As for Fury………he’s getting better…….but has he got the skills to go all the way……….I have my doubts.
I’ve watch a few of Bryant Jennings fights………and whilst he seems technically okay……but nothing outstanding………his lack of true heavyweight power will be his undoing.
Unbeaten MaliK Scott looks technically good too……..but like Jennings doesn’t seem to have true hurtful power.
The likes of Adamek Pulev & Povetkin need to face each other at some point too.
And Wilder………..impressive perfect 27 KO………but time me thinks to step it up a level this year………and as for Boystov………..come on you had Fury…..but you backed out…..imagine if Wlad came calling!
So yes FA it’s an exciting time for heavy’s……. but If I had to pick just 2 to look out for to challenge Wlad it would be a rebuilt Price & possibly Wilder if he can ever dare to step up his level!

Fight Aficionado

I don’t know about you guys but IMO the heavyweight division is cracking nowadays. We’ve got Mago on US TV regularly, Tyson Fury is coming, and there are various European contenders coming down the pipeline. Plus we’ve got a few decent American contenders who should be interesting once they start facing decent comp.

Magomed “Mago” Abdusalamov, usa champ??? funny name for a us champ?? not hank chuck or jr…

Posted March 15, 2013 5:41 pm

KL

Mago’s got plenty of power………….but he has to take a good deal of punishment to land his best punches……………can’t see Mago in with a K brother…………it would be like Tua vs Lewis all over again………… Still Mago has done well to KO all his opponents so far………especially as he has been getting out boxed in his last few fights.
Mago a true heavyweight prospect…….. unlikely……..his skills don’t match his power.

first punch mago landed, fury would be unconcious. fury has prices chin, without the talent.

Fury would box this guys ears off.Let him fight Lucas Browne both are strong with no skills would be sloopy but fun.

too bad magomed abdusalamov has to suffer the indignity of having to fight on the undercard of a “maravilla” fight

Posted March 15, 2013 4:33 pm

i’d say he should face fury next, but we all know that china chinned clown won’t face anyone who can punch.
