Dan the Man

Super good fight, I hope Provo and Bradley are head healthy after this exciting very tough bout

Srminino, you are 100% right I would NOT send money, same applies with a NASCAR driver or a football player… The athlete assumes the risk, if you have a problem watching guys get beat up then why are you a boxing fan of all things?? What you gonna tell me it’s the “Sweet Science” ect? At the core it’s a brutal sport aka “the hurt business”

sredmond- I see everything you’re saying and yeah, if you ask Bradley right now, he would say he’s happy the fight went on, because he’s a true fighter, but I’ve seen many young guys in the gym (including former world champs and olympians) walking around broke and physically ruined who will tell you how shortsighted that is. It’s the ref’s Job to protect the fighters and there were pretty clear signs of concussion with the guy and the Ref and that fool Max Kellerman were almost celebrating it. If Tim, God forbid, get’s KOd in his next couple of fights as a consequence of taking too many shots in this one and is ruined as a fighter, neither you, Kellerman or that geriatric fool of a ref are going to send him money to feed his kids and wife.

Just because you get knocked down and then try and get up and fall down again, that is not an automatic KO. Not sure where you got that info from but that is wrong info

We ALL know that boxers suffer brain damage its a natural consequence of getting hit in the head for over 20 years…Ali and others chose this profession so they have to live with the consequences if they are unlucky… Bradley had EVERY right to keep on fighting the other night and because of his drive and conditioning he was able to finish and get the win… Monday Morning Quarterbacking future dementia, subdural hematoma or demtia pugilistica is WEAK when the combatant is able to stay in the fight… Its part of the job, and Bradley did not want to quit, I personally thank BOTH guys for a Great fight

SREDMOND- Have you seen Muhammad Ali lately? O think your defense for not stopping fights works against you.

Thanks SREDMOND for responding to srminimo for me. I couldn’t have said it better!

So a guy who has titles in a 3 weight classes does not rate as top Comp? So basically being a world Champion is not enough thats interesting… Really speaks to how terrific Floyd Mayweather is!!

If Guerrero is considered top opposition to someone who wants to be recognized as an all time great, then boxing, and no surprise here, continues on its descent in the world of reputable sports.

Happygirl,
You really like girl of mentioning Paquiao in the conversation which is irrelevant. Better for you to stfu if you can’t argue intelligently

Bradley must have been beaten as a kid. He lost though and by the way he $ucks Primitive skills with track star legs

The ref did an EXCELLENT job because in the old days you did NOT just take away a guys Championship because he is hurt thats fcking crazy… Bradley had regained himself by round 3 and his ability to throw MORE punches and land more validates the ref’s decision to allow the DAMN Champion to keep fighting…. If fights were stopped during tough moments then Ali/Frazier would NOT have had classics, Gatti/Ward, Corrales/Castillo…. Tim Bradley is a DURABLE guy who was in excellent condition or he would have been knocked out… Fact is he was given the benefit of the doubt like a Champ should, reality is that Provodikov should have knocked him cold when he was hurt but he could not get the job done…

Posted March 18, 2013 11:29 am

srminimo

Jackholer- I think the ref did a horrible job BECAUSE he let the fight continue. Even on the tv you could see Bradley wasn’t all there between rounds. He had an empty stare from the 4th round on yet the ref, who came in to look at them, never thought about at least having the doctor look at him between rounds to check his pupils and his reactions. Concussions add up and Bradley’s career might very well be jeopardized because no one stepped in and did the right thing.

Ernie, Floyd can do it after prison, pressure, family drama, inactivity ect.. .Nothing stops the guy legit GREAT fighters are a different breed ie Andre Ward who has stomped some guys you thought were elite… You make an excellent point about Mayweathers ability to avoid distractions nuts and all…. Smart man! :)

Posted March 18, 2013 10:41 am

It’s Me, Ernie

Yup,it’s amazing Floydie can get all that done with his nuts in your mouth.

Posted March 18, 2013 10:25 am

Floyd is a much BETTER fighter than Bradley so you cannot expect to see Mayweather letting a common slugger bounce him all over the ring… Bradley went out there with something to prove and negated his advantages in speed and craft to his detriment at times… Floyd Mayweather BADLY outclasses TOP competition and thats how it will always be until his skills erode from time…. Mayweather would have turned Provodnikov into a bloody pulp in 7 rounds with hardly a scratch to show for the effort…

The first round “down or not scenario” does not even compare with Tszyu and Judah where it was beyond clear and Judah pretty much fell on his face… you guys need to face it, Ruslan did not do enough to win the fight, he had his man BADLY hurt on more than one occasions but those moments in isolation when compared to the steady work that Bradley was doing don’t equate to a Ruslan victory…It was a close fight and a terrific fight, to be appreciated for the will and guys displayed but the Champion held on to his title and thats just the way it goes….

ED

Seems the loopy dance is back in style again after the last Judah debacle against Tyszu.Bradley was certainly sent down in the first round and while the ref did his best to cover that up and caling it a slip, how possible is it Bradley could slip and fall yet again just seconds after getting up?? I mean, WTF?? I’m certain Zab would agree with me.

Ok SOME guys think Ruslan deserved to win thats fine but the facts remain it was hardly and epic controversy, I was personally starting to root for him to knock Bradley out when I saw how stupid Tim was fighting but he did NOT get the job done and he pissed away a TON of rounds simply loading up and looking for big shots… It was a damn good fight both guys showed a TON of balls but the right man got the nod despite emotions

Posted March 18, 2013 8:40 am

Chicago guy

Decision is final whatever it is Fair or Not Fair but in the eye of many including myself Ruslan deserved the win. Credibility of boxing no more and once again the world see how corrupt this sport.

Posted March 18, 2013 8:03 am

SREDMOND

The ref investigated GTFOH, that call was extremely borderline at best and hardly easily a KD, Ruslan hurt Bradley far worse during the contest but his LONG stretches on inactivity lost him the fight.. Bradley was chopping his face up and even Freddy Roach said he was taking FAR too many blows.. It was close but this guy did not get over the hump, this is hardly some sort of epic controversy, Bradley despite not hitting as hard, hit this fighter FAR more…

If you like pub fights and Prizefighter you should get Sky Sports, Boxnation shows most big quality fights around the world.
About the fight, i have watched it live and in my opinion Ruslan deserved the win, with 1st, 2′nd, 12 kdowns and some rounds were close but Ruslan was landing the heavy shots he should have get the desicion.

Cheating cheating favoritism protecting bias that”s boxing in America. If you are not American you can’t win by point or decision. America is land of brave cheater hahahaha, just my opinion.

Peej,Knocckdown knockdown knockdown and were not credited for Ruslan the 3 10/8 score hahahahahaha robbery face to face infront of the viewing public favoring big head. Slap to the face to the die hard Russian fighter it’s a shame.

The referee protected Bradley to win.

Bradley was beaten up. Ruslan won

Posted March 18, 2013 5:42 am

Well????

Still no one will answer my question. Why isn’t the ref being investigated? If he did his job properly it was a KO round 1 Provodnikov. Bradley was knocked down, got up, fell down. Fight should of been stopped there. Zab Judah can back me up on that fact. Provodnikov should sue for damages, monetary and physical. The fight wouldn’t of gone 12 rounds if the ref did his job.

Bradley got caught because they both walked to the center of the ring and started throwing bombs at each other. Bradley was trading and then got hit. It was not like he was boxing and then got caught, he tried to prove something by standing there and trading and he almost lost because of that. Bradley didnt’ start boxing till round 3. Ruslan won the first 2 rounds, the 6th I think and the last round. The 11th was a good round but Bradley won it but it was close so could of went either way in my opinion. Ruslan clearly lost because he stopped throwing punches. The rounds he won he was active, the rounds he lost he was not active
