.. and if you think you have class; quit all the nationalistic aggression. You cant complain about people not showing class when you dont show any yourself. I have not attacked your nation, or anyone elses ….. thats is becuase I have class and you dont. Since when do two wrongs make a right? Try practising what you preach for a change.

Why dont you use that “common Sense” since you have adopted it as your name …. there is no such thing as the celtic race. It is a myth. There is no difference in genes between Anglo-Saxons and Celts. The is no difference in ethnicity ….. no difference at all. Fury’s heritage may come from Irish Travellers but his ethnicity is no different to mine. PS: As for boo’ing the national anthem; What about the Adlanta Olympics were the american crowd boo’ed everyone who wasnt American? I dont agree with boo’ing anthems, but i dont take it too seriously either.

Im not bothered about it at all. If people want to pretend to be Irish; thats upto them.

Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)

“Fury was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester, England into a family of Irish Traveller heritage. Tyson’s family has a long history in boxing and bare knuckle boxing. His father is from Tuam, County Galway IRL and his maternal grandmother is from County Tipperary IRL. He is a cousin of Irish boxer Andy Lee. Contrary to what many are saying on this thread, Fury is not just claiming to be Irish as some sort of a promotional marketing ploy. He is simply being true to his ethnic identity and that’s his own prerogative.

Why is fury being ctitized? Well when you run your mouth off telling the whole world your going to knock out everybody and saying the Klitschko’s are running scared of you but in reality he fights hand picked opponents that are too old or too small and won’t pose a threat at all. He did fight chisora I’ll give him that but Del boy didn’t even train for the fight and fury dididnt do any damage to him so that’s why fury gets critized for

Jeff C…Fury was born in England but has irish blood in him.So hes a Englishman with Irish roots,so if he wants to mention his Irish background it should be his right to do so.And like somebody said in America Irish fighters are well suported by the fans, and if Fury wants to cash in on that and he does have Irish blood in him then good for him.As long as he keeps winning he will get the American Irish fans behind him and make x-tra cash, cant blame him for that.

I dont really see how anyone can criticise Fury’s carreer to much thus far. He is only 24 and fights often. He has always fought decent opposition, even as a teen when he turned pro and is improving all the time; movement, hand speed, combination punching, jab, defence, fitness, strength, stamina, allgetting better each time. He is way and above the level of Wilder, Price, Jennings, Mitchell, Gerber etc.

Regarding Irish blood; In the UK the population is pretty mixed, a lot of English people have Celtic blood, be it Irish, Welsh, Scottish or even Cornish or Manx. That includes the various types of Traveller Communities, they live all over the UK and are probably a mix of all those ethnicities. The same goes for the Celts, many Celtic peoples are mixed with other Celtic peoples and the English in the UK…not to mention the Danish, Norman and Huguenot French ancestry that is extant also. The ”Irish” tag sells well in America, Fury knows this, it makes good financial sense so he is playing it.

Fury is just young, immature and has a big mouth …. but I love watching him fight. He likes to fight and isnt afraid to get hit. He is entertaining and thats all I want.

Neil(pomy)

Fair enough …. but neither has Cunningham at heavyweight, and he has been up and down like a yo-yo in the cruiserweight division.

KOrnerman

He seems to have an identity crisis and think he’s Irish or maybe its my ears but he sounds more like a Mancunian to me, the Manc who thinks he’s a Mick, Quality.

Pity his reflexes are totally crap….a good chin will not help much if he gets hit often….

Fight Aficionado

Lee, Fury is not at all slow footed. For his size he’s shown good footspeed in recent fights, if you actually watched them.

Lee…I really dont see Fury being slow footed, have you seen his last few fights?

Posted March 19, 2013 7:04 pm

Fury..Macklin..Lee..all have irish blood in their veins,so whats the problem. In America if you have just one parent with some say polish blood, people will say Im polish or part polish never even been to poland. What did Macklin say…if your born in a horse stable it dosent make you a horse. If people are born with irish..polish..french..german..blood in them and they want people to know that,I could care less.

This is a good match up however fury is just too big for Cunningham who is really a pumped up cruiser weight hence that fight was made as Cunningham won’t pose to much of a threat to fury, though I think he will cause some damage and scares along the way. Fury will win on a gift descion as Cunningham has proved his durability against adaemek and fury doesn’t have any break power like price or wilder. He may be an all time great for ` Ireland but but he will be exposed once he fights a fighter with any power

Textbook Hayelord

You gotta love how many fake irishmen there are out of Britain (Fury, Macklin, Andy Lee). I can’t blame them though, Britain is the pits nowadays.

Posted March 19, 2013 6:17 pm

Lee

I have no rooting interest in the fight but I have watched both fighters and Cunningham’s speed, reflexes and skill will be too much for the slow footed fury. Fury being an eventual atg is ludicrous.

Posted March 19, 2013 6:16 pm

Lee

You have no credibility, Fury atg lol please stop the jokes. You’re either delusional or you’re a comedian.

Posted March 19, 2013 5:34 pm

talbodin

more delusional posts about fury. he is still being kept miles away from anyone who can punch. he will be found out quickly first time that changes.

Lee…Euro level in hvwt.boxing is the highest level at this point.Maybe some of the Americans coming up can change that in the near future…but at this time euro level is the highest for a hvwt. Fury is looking better with each fight and the guy didnt even reach his peak yet the kid will still get stronger.Cant see Cunningham getting past Fury at this point.

Fury is as Irish as they come…wait till u see on fight night when he comes to the ring to irish music and with the irish tri colour. As for the fight, fury will ko chinny cunningham inside 6 rounds and any other over hyped yank in the division

Posted March 19, 2013 3:42 pm

Lee

Travel, your a fool. European boxing is even more corrupt then american boxing. Getting a decision in Europe as the underdog takes a miracle. Fury will get outboxed and his only hope is receiving a gift decision. The fight is in america but the judges will be on furys side because he has the bigger name. Fury is not world class, just another European level over hyped fighter.

Tyson should win this, but he could be in trouble in the first three rounds. After that, he should be in control of the fight. His development is astounding – tha man can BOX! And his fitness has imrpoved huge time. Go for a title by the end of 2013 after this fight and another one, or early in 2014. Povetkin e.g. shouldn’t be a threat.
