martinez will dominate all action in this fight – Junior is going to get his ass kicked

Martinez to win in 8 rounds – Easy!

i see this fight going like the pacquaio vs margarito fight. martinez keeps this fight in the middle of the ring for an easy nights work. in and out with combinations. another thing you will see from martinez is body punches. he will slow chavez jr. down round by round leading to a tko. in the 6th rd.

Martinez by 11 round TKO Chavez will dominate earlyon but will tire towards the end and Martinez will get knocked down but Martinez left hand good night

Sergio Martinez will beat Chavez BUT Martinez has a big weakness and that is he does not defend himself he drops his hands to often and everyone goes on about chavez’s Chin i think Chavez will try to get into martinez’s head like he did against Andy lee just laugh at everything Martinez throws at

Another piece of yellow journalism to make fans think the worst of Chavez, Jr. This was probably written to stir up excitement for pay-per-view interest. Chavez Jr. has always had a double chin look, a virtually unnoticeable edge on the pudgy side — probably baby fat that was never lost. Nothing there to even support any outcome for the fight.

I hear the same trash 46 time before the fights, but after the fights i have never hear from you.

Arum has sold jr out. He knows the boy is on his way to self destruct. Better to cash out now before he ends up in jail or checks into rehab.

Chavez looks a super fat during the faceoff. serious.

UJelly?

Yeah, I was thinking the same when I saw photos of him. He is looking very “heavy” considering how close it is to the fight.
But the thing is… maybe he doesn’t plan to lose the weight. Everyone is saying he’ll kill himself to make weight, but say he weighed in at 165, do you think Martinez would pull out of the fight? I doubt it. And I don’t think losing the titles on the scale is anything Chavez cares about… so long as he’s winning, he’ll make money with or without a title.

The hype train will crash sept. 15.I don’t see how people believe in these overrated hype beasts(jr,khan, rios, nonito, pac, broner etc) paper champions. It’s not hard identifying a real fighter from a fake but i guess it is for 95%.

Give Chavez Jr. some credit for getting into the ring with one of the best fighters. He is only 26 and he provides some entertaining fights. Don’t forget who his father is. In other words, don’t underestimate him. Many of you will be surprised on Sept. 15!

Tomato Can

Martinez should box Chavez Jr. silly in the early to mid rounds, and go for the stoppage between the 9th and 12th rounds. If he opps to stand and trade with chavez early it could turn bad for him, cause that’s Jr’s only chance.

Tomato Can

he’ll start using diuretics and drop the weight. This kid probably drinks too much beer which is causing him to balloon between fights. Hell really between weigh-ins.

This is going to be so one sided it will be pathetic. Jr. cannot-CANNOT hurt Marivilla. Sergio CAN ONLY hurt him !! He has less movement than Pavelick. Sergio stood in with Paul Wiliams sometimes toe to toe, Williams would have starched Jr. in about 5 rounds. Then when he stands there and invites Martinez in like he did with Lee the next thjing he see’s is the cieling.

sorry for the typo errors. im typing from my phone

Chavez has limited boxing skills, and hes basically a C level fighter. Andy Lee has no skills either….. Chavez beat him because og the maasive size and weight difference. That coming in at 180 is not going to work with Martinez, ya dig

If hes getting beat up in sparring, I say he gets stopped

Prof Konje

Chavez won’t make weight and the fight won’t be canceled. Ideally, if he doesn’t make weight (again) then he should be fined, stripped of his useless title, and the fight canceled. If he insists on coming into his fights at 180+ which he has been doing, then it should be mandated that he move up in weight class. But that’s an ideal world-it just won’t happen. I hope that Martinez gives the fat coward the beating of his life. There’s no similarity between father and son. Chavez Sr. was a true fighter.

i dont doubt that he pulls a mayweather/broner weight stunt. come in heavy and pay the penalty and no title on the line. and the one who pays is sergio he would be the one being bullied in the ring with the over weight chavez. this is all speculation of course i just wouldnt put it past him.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but is there not a mandatory 2 week pre-fight weigh -in under WBC rules? Alvarez recently went through his for his fight against Lopez! Or is it because it’s Chavez and they’ve changed the rules to suit lol. I can forsee typical Bob Arum tactics hear folks and mark my words; Chavez will come in ridiculously over weight, loose the belt, beat Martinez (through shear size) and all because he needs the 30lb weight advantage. He will then be made mandatory challenger to fight for it all over again. All the bad decisions over the past year have one thing in common-Bob Arum.

Sr has been on his case about making weight since the start of his pro career. He doesn’t listen. I think he will tire out by round 8

Posted August 31, 2012 2:16 pm

Shane

This is expected since he will be tested for this fight. If he doesn’t puss out and make weight we will see the real Jr. A journeyman getting pummeled by the real deal brutally.

i bet sr is going thru all the motions for this fight .martinez when he wants u out he does the damage

SHADOW BOX

A pro fighter (I will not disclose his name) once told me that Chavez jr is a whiner and his trainers ask if he wants to do this or that. And if he doesnt want to do it, they let him get away with it. Chavez jr basically does what he wants in trainer. No one over rides him and tells him what to do. If he doesnt want to do a particular excercise, he just doesnt do it.

Mrpleaseplease

This is the best middleweight fight since bhop vs trinidad. can’t wait for this one. I do have a fear that the weight in could ruin this though. From the time chavez won his title sergio wanted him and i don’t believe julio wants anything to do with sergio, just there was nowhere for julio to run. I like jr and loved the old man, but i think if the fight actually does happen, sergio gonna punish the boy. I cheer for julio and for sergio so just pumped for a great fight, but if the fight goes to the cards, there isn’t a doubt in my mind jr will get the nod. Gonna throw down some loot on jr just cause of that. If i lose it, I i’m gonna be happy with a awsome ko from sergio. peace ya’ll and hope we have a good 1

a pic would have been very useful!

That’s a fair assessment. Personally I hope Martinez outworks Chavez, as in my opinion Chavez is a paper champion. He may prove me wrong, but the guy has been fighting poor opposition for too long. Martinez’s battles against Williams are legendary, and at 37, is not showing his age.

I’m scared this mofo can’t make the weight and the fight is cancelled….f boxing…
